Here we are again - new thread time! Can you believe we're on our 9th one?

I've been down to DFS and got us some new squidgy sofas. Feel free to add anything else you like Grin

OP posts:
SlimJimBra · 12/09/2012 22:51

PS great list :o
Well done to TDT and AFE.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 12/09/2012 23:52

My bloody period has arrived.....

We had a really filthy weekend away planned. Fuck it anyway Angry

FairhairedandFrustrated · 12/09/2012 23:56

WELL DONE everyone!!!! What a brilliant List!!!

Who is the Slimmer of the Week?? And have you all set mini goals or action targets for this week? What things can you change to get the weightloss your little heart desires? And if there's something sabotaging your efforts, how can you go about changing it?

Phew!

AimingForElegant · 13/09/2012 08:42

Re: my lurking, I had to see if it was the kind of thread I wanted to join in on and it took me a while to work out what it was about.

And I like green bananas, I have one on my desk for a mid-morning snack!

GettinTrimmer mumps sounds awful, you poor thing. Don't tell anyone, but I haven't got my own DC Blush DP has 2 though, DSS who's 13, and DSD who's 7. They aren't with us all the time, but a fair amount (especially when DSS is back from boarding school, one of my slimming danger zones as the house is FULL of snacks and he kindly buys me malteasers and crunchies with his own money, thoughtful boy, so I must eat them so he continues to do so). I found MN when looking for step-parenting advice and stayed because I quite liked the rest of it!

TomDaleysTrunks · 13/09/2012 09:37

Oooh I can imagine you in class FH&F. I am setting a measly 1lb aim for this week due to an engagement party on Sat night.

Glad you decided to join us AFE. Your DSS sounds adorable, bless him.

slim sounds like you've got a reasonable plan there. Smile. Good for you.

Food today:
B: scrambled egg and hobbit toast (heb)
L: ham and cous cous salad. Fruit
D: Singapore vermicilli noodles
Will have a gin and slim tonight.

Have a good day all.

Riadiculous · 13/09/2012 11:15

hi all, well done on the list. I am lurking.

Hope jodie and bee are ok, a to them.

FHF, you minx! Hope all is well with you and yours

I am having the most hideous, upsetting and disturbing nightmares ATM. Last night was horrible and I have to confess to getting DH to take the boys to school and going back to bed. I have just had toast and jam, and am off to get ready for work. I may attempt to cycle...

TomDaleysTrunks · 13/09/2012 13:50

Oh no ria poor you. What are the nightmares about?

My lunch changed to 1/2 a JP, baked beans, naice ham and salad. Nom nom.

Riadiculous · 13/09/2012 17:00

mainly hideous deaths TDTSad. My gran died naturally aged 93 about 8 years ago, and I still dream about being with her and then her dying (this is a fairly regular theme), and last night it was about my mum (not usual). With lots of odd happenings and ramblings mixed in, it's never straightforward. DH said I was making very odd noises in my sleep, which I'm not surprised about as I can remember sobbing and waking up feeling like I had been IYSWIM.

I am worn out today. As I was collecting DS2&3 from school I got a text from DS1 to say he'd been in a fight, then DS3 came out of class with th "superstar" certificate... I nearly burst into tearsBlush

SlimJimBra · 13/09/2012 19:46

ria that sounds awful :(

Food today has been good so far:
B: cereal and milk heA and heB
Snack: banana and hifi light bar (3 syns)
L: salad, ham, ff dressing and ff yogurt
Snack: orange and hifi light bar (3 syns)
D: mugshot and banana (0.5 syns)
Snack: may have another hifi light or hot choc before bed

TomDaleysTrunks · 13/09/2012 20:34

Shock that's not very much food slim.

TomDaleysTrunks · 13/09/2012 20:35

That DOES sound awful ria. Anxiety related nightmares probs. have you seen your GP?

Riadiculous · 13/09/2012 21:20

I am either going to sit-and-wait surgery tomorrow, or will make appt next week when I go to the nurse. Depends how bad tonight is. Last nights dream has been "broken" as my mum calls it - I rang her earlier and she had not good news about my her brother who had x-ray/blood tests earlier this week by a MacMilllan nurse (I can't say "bad" news as he needs a further scan to see what is wrong, but some blood count or other is back up again, after it had gone down after his 2nd prostate op, so it seems not good atm)

back on the SW wagon tomorrow, have bought the new mag tonight while I was running away from home at the supermarket. I need to sneak it out of the cellophane, bash it about a bit and get it into the SW mag box, then I can take it out and pretend I'm re-reading an old one! We will have a SW fry-up breakfast as DH has a job trial tomorrow.

SlinkyB · 13/09/2012 22:15

FHF You're a saucy little devil aren't you? Grin Sorry you got your period, bad timing.

I was also thinking that a mugshot and a banana was a tiny dinner - aren't you starving slim?

ria (like the new name btw) so sorry to hear of awful dreams, they can seem so real and upsetting can't they? I've woken up crying before, once when I dreamt I was at my Dad's funeral (he's not dead). Then again, think that was when I was pregnant...Hope GP can help

I also have a DSS aiming - he'll be 13 in Nov, and is brilliant shame I can't say the same for his Mother. Are there some good step-parenting threads then? How long have you been with your DP?

My day wasn't tooooo bad, apart from a couple of sneaky biscuits and a few crisps. Went to Zumba tonight, but didn't really enjoy it as haven't been for so long that I didn't know any of the new moves...and forgot that I have no rhythm. Or concentration skills. And am always hungry. Also, I drop ds off at my sister's at around 8am on a Thurs, and don't get him til I finish work at 5pm,.then have to drive home and pretty much get changed and kiss him goodbye again, which makes me sad. Think I'd rather spend some time with him, put him to bed, and accept my wobbly bits.

Sorry for long, boring post.

Thinking of you Jodie, bee and fhf x

SlimJimBra · 13/09/2012 22:23

Oh ria :( what a horrible situation to be in.
TDT you didn't see the size of the salad :o it's plenty for me as I can't be bothered to cook just for one so mug shots an jacket potatoes have become my staple dinners. I always eat well on the days I work - having set tea/lunch breaks focused me on what I'm eating much better than 'mum' days when I tend to graze at whatever is in the house! am in bed now with a hot choc (2 syns) so today's total has been 8.5
Choc's five point plan (TM) check:

  1. done on here
  2. not bought any food today so no twixs snuck in either
  3. had 8.5 syns
  4. shouting services not required tonight thanks FHF see points 1-3
  5. will have to wait and see :)
SlimJimBra · 13/09/2012 22:25

Hello slinky :) x-posted there

FairhairedandFrustrated · 13/09/2012 22:57

Ok, no shouting then Wink

Ria pet, you're bound to be in a state after scary dreams, they always seem so realistic, don't they? I hope you're a wee bit relaxed tonight and have a better nights sleep tonight sweetheart.

I lost 1.5lb tonight, happy enough with that. Away for the weekend so fingers crossed I'll cope ok with that.

Tmi- I haven't pooed in 3 days, am feeling like I have to go, ie: it's in there but won't come out!!!!!!

I took 2 senna capsules but so far have only managed a fart....

FairhairedandFrustrated · 13/09/2012 23:08

Slim looks like a nice days eating!!!!

Hey slinky :)

Riadiculous · 13/09/2012 23:10

thanks for that FHF. I read somewhere, I think it was related to british consul-types in India in the days of the "Empire" (please note, I am crap at history and have absolutely NO idea what I'm on about, except watching Miss Marple) "never assume it's just a fart"Wink

when I was PG the first time I had a dream about my mum flying a helicopter and having to land it in a field of rabbits (a bit Wallace and Gromit TBH, but 10 years too early!). I have always have had nasty vivid dreams, but they are worse when I am ... ??? ill? Round about the same time as that one I had a really nasty one about my dad which led me to begging him never to visit America. It will haunt me forever.Sad

of course, when I am feeling OK, sometimes there are slightly dodgy ones involving passion and Top GearBlush

kid · 13/09/2012 23:12

Lots of details there Fairhaired! Just imagine all that food you have eaten in 3 days, you might be in the loo for a while when it finally decides to happen!

Ria, nightmares are awful, especially when they are about people in RL rather than random things happening, like being chased by a stranger or something. I've read that if you dream about having a baby, it means someone is going to die and if someone dies in your dream, it means you'll have a baby, or someone close to you will. I'm not convinced on those type of meanings, I think its more whats playing on our minds and our fears.

I went back to the gym tonight, even though it was hard, I actually enjoyed it. I hardly even get time just to myself, so by going to the gym, no-one can bother me or interupt me. I had a bath when I got back while DD sat on the bathroom floor so I could help her with her homework which she has had for a week but waited until the day before it is due in!

I made these turkey melt things tonight which are free on red days. Kind of like a pizza with turkey as the pizza base. DH and DC ate them so they must have been okay.

I had another one of those bars, but at 7 syns and an hour gym class, I should be okay.

Riadiculous · 13/09/2012 23:16

it's good to know it's not just me, but to all of you who knowSad

I have a DSS too, sadly he/the situation is not brilliant, and he is too old for things to improve I think. DH and I did discuss him coming to stay sometime oon, but he is 21 and it seems a bit Confused (I can identify with DSS and parent problems BTW). DH went to visit a few weeks ago - SS is approx 22 stoneSad and doesn't leave the house.

Riadiculous · 13/09/2012 23:24

well done on gym kid.

I don't so much mind the idea of having a baby! (though I had a bizarre dream last week that our neighbours decided that as their RL recent baby is number 5 we should share caring for it)

My DS1 did do his homework tonight, but due to the fight,so he bloody should! (which is why I sat in the superarket car park so long. A bit crap as "me time" I feel!)

FairhairedandFrustrated · 14/09/2012 17:57

Hello from a Dublin pub!!! Free wifi and on my first vod of the night Grin

Today going ok but I haven't ate yet Wink

SlimJimBra · 14/09/2012 18:21

FH be careful of those voddies before food, they're lethal!
I have so far eaten exactly the same as yesterday, cereal and milk, snack of fruit and hifi bar, salad with ham and ff dressing, ff yogurt, another hifi and fruit for teatime. Copious cups of tea also consumed. I am becoming aware of how I seem to eat the same food every day.

SlinkyB · 14/09/2012 20:04

slim you're turning into our bee - she used to eat the same thing every day! Grin Although think her lunch was cheese triangles on toast IIRC. You thinking of mixing it up a bit soon yeah? Throw in some scan bran cake for good measure? Wink

Had a good day, apart from the home-made cupcake my friend thrust upon me at work...which actually tasted like washing powder?! but I still finished it

ria My 'little' half brother, who's ten years younger than me, has always been a big boy. He's pretty much matched his age with his weight, ie 10st aged 10yrs, and is now 21 and around 21st Sad We don't have much contact at all, but see on fb he's trying to lose it. Does your dss live nearby?

FHF You're always on mini-breaks! I'm jealous. Well done on losing 1.5lbs this week, it probably would've been 2lb had you not been constipated!

SlimJimBra · 14/09/2012 20:22

I made scan bran banana muffins but only ate one and forgot about the rest so I had to bin them!
I've had a mugshot for tea :o about to have a choc something...hi fi or hot choc or just choc...
