Here we are again - new thread time! Can you believe we're on our 9th one?

I've been down to DFS and got us some new squidgy sofas. Feel free to add anything else you like Grin

DH is okay, no more 'whooping' from him.

I've been really busy on the laptop doing work related things tonight so this is just a flying visit before I disappear off to bed.
I'll catch up a bit better tomorrow or over the weekend.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 06/09/2012 23:39

Well done Clodagh's DS! Fab!

TDT, you're brilliant with all the runs, I wish I had the stamina. My sis is a brill runner, often coming top in her age group (she's 44) and has entered some kind of running up a mountain time trial thing later in the year (I wonder is it perhaps NYD) (I don't really listen) She tried to help me run but we fell out and she left me sitting on my bum half way up a mountain last winter. Blush

Well, had my WI tonight and I am fuckin raging.. forgive the colourful language... I lost half a shitting lb!! I have had a brill week, even measuting out bloody stuffing for my sunday roast last weekend! But no fear, I will continue.

And for those of you who hate/aren't happy in their jobs right now, join the club. I often wonder how we managed before I had 2 jobs, we must have done, so we could manage again, right? I said to dh last week about giving up my 'evening' job sometime soon as I know my heart isn't in it, but as he says, we've got used to the extras that job brings in, so will keep at it until such times a full time suitable job comes along.

Thinking of Bee and thanks everyone for your thoughts, it really means a lot.

Will check in tomorrow and log my food x

Clodaghdragonfly · 07/09/2012 00:41

Sad FHF. Can I ask why (if it isn't being too nosey) why your heart isn't in your evening job? (I could hazard at least a couple of guesses from my own personal point of view, but that is not an educated view). Could you go back FT in your "day" job? You could write lots of books as a sideline (being my friend on MN should give you plenty of materialWink), IIRC your have worked v hard and are v dedicated to be what you are, plus good at it. well done on your loss - better off than on. for pantsness of life.

Is it possible to earn a living from being a nasty bitch? I would excel at that!

I was thinking today I could just give up my regular job and go back to doing it on relief/cover basis (the money I earn is neither here nor there in the grat scheme of things, I have stuck with it thus far to be able to check up on the boys, and to do the training last year), but DH's latest tests/check-up at hospital is not looking good, and more fairly major surgery is a HUGE probability (either that, or nothing they can do)> I know this sounds pretty pathetic, but if I knew what would happen with DH, it would be so much easier to make decisions for myself. I am currently committed to a massive amount of OU study next year, but I am feeling a bit Confused about all of that too.

sorry for self-obsessed rambling, sometimes it helps to re-read in print on here!

Clodaghdragonfly · 07/09/2012 00:47

sorry FHF, that all made sense to me when it was in my head... you have worked hard and been very dedicated to be good at your day job, and you seem to be fab at your other job... please just take much praise, admiration and credit from me, and apply to your life generally! I think you're fab and work hardSmile you can always PM me if you need to indulge in unsavoury language!

I feel I should go to bed. But I don't want to because tomorrow will be here quicker.

SlimJimBra · 07/09/2012 07:13

((clodagh)) you sound all up and down :(
FH I was considering your evening jOb actuAlly, though not yet as dh's work is too unpredictable at the mo and I'd have the problem of getting someone to have ds in the eves.

TomDaleysTrunks · 07/09/2012 09:34

Morning all!
clodagh every job has office politics. I just keep my head down and try to ignore it. Go in, do your job and leave again. Easier said than done I know.

fair I imagine your evening job is hard blooming work. Constantly being a smiling face etc. I couldn't do it.

Food looks like
B: weetabix and skim milk (HEA and b)
L: frittata and salad
D: probs a hotdog at the Paralympics and a pint of lager Blush

Another sunny day here, it's wonderful. If only it did this in August!
Have a good day all.

GettinTrimmer · 07/09/2012 12:06

Hi all

Clodagh very well done to your ds. I agree with you I am not sure about taking GCSEs early, but it's worked out well.

TDT I am also a runner and planning to do a seafront santa run. Anybody live in the South? Choice of either a 5K or 10K.

fairhaired Any loss is good, it is said that often being saintly shows on the scales the following week.

I am impatiently waiting for this mumps to pass, my face is mahoosive Sad looks like I have gained 6 stone overnight just on my face. And I am twitchy because I've just texted my friend and she hasn't replied so need someone to collect from school. I really don't want to walk down to school as it will alarm people. Got to get ringing round in a bit.

I feel OK in myself but can't eat much. Good for the diet. I like to look for the silver lining on every cloud Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 07/09/2012 18:58

Ah clodagh, you are seriously lovely :)

Will update in secret place later, this is too open.

Slim, good sides and bad sides, will answer any questions :)

Can't do day job full time as I job share, it's just my partner who I share with is on maternity.

Trim, sorry to hear of your swollen face, I hope you got the wee ones sorted xx

TomDaleysTrunks · 08/09/2012 07:50

trimmer poor you. Mumps are horrible. I'm currently in London but we are moving to Monmouthshire so it depends where the run is. Hope you feel enter soon.

clodagh I'm sorry, I forgot to say a big well done to your DS. What an achievement, you must be so proud.

We had an amazing time at the Paralympics last night. It was amazing to go. I also had 3 lagers and a hotdog Blush. I'll have to have a good week now.
B: fruit and ff yog
L: ham and pasta salad
D: BBQ so will do sweet chilli chicken on the BBQ, salad and new pots. I will try and avoid the burgers and sausages.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone. It's a shame DD is full of cold and just wants to watch TV. Quiet morning then because I've got a hangover

FairhairedandFrustrated · 09/09/2012 19:34

I am ready to murder someone. Argh. Can't moan here!

SlinkyB · 09/09/2012 20:53

Go to the other place then FHF! (or pm me).

I've been rubbish again this weekend, and feel bloated and fat and grim. Will have to pull finger out, and start exercising again too. Am thinking of going to Zumba on Thursday night, and maybe ask my "running" partner if she fancies starting that again (the inverted commas were due to the fact we barely used to break a sweat on our slow jog around town !).

Had a lovely weekend, but now have Sunday night dread re: going back to work tomorrow. Ah well, it's only one day, then have two days off.

Hope you're all having lovely weekends!

kid · 09/09/2012 21:02

I'll just copy and paste what Slinky said!
'I've been rubbish again this weekend, and feel bloated and fat and grim. Will have to pull finger out, and start exercising again too'.

I have booked the gym for tomorrow night but I am dreading going back as its been so long. Surely it can't be that bad and surely nothing major could have changed in my absence?

I have planned my meals for the week and had shopping delivered today so I'm all set to go. Unfortunately, I ordered lean mince (instead of extra lean) but they sent normal mince. Will it be hugely damaging if I just use it anyway? If I didn't have any other syns on those days, could it work?

Also, the fact that I have eaten a whole pineapple tonight, does that undo all the junk that I've been eating?

SlinkyB · 09/09/2012 21:20

YY kid of course eating a whole fresh pineapple cancels out all the junk Grin That's how I tend to think; on a good day (if I can remember back that far) if I've eaten nothing but saintly food, fresh fruit and veg...I think I'm allowed a treat. Ergo, if I've eaten something full of syns, if I then eat lots of fruit, I'll be alright Hmm

Oh, and the thought of the gym is always way, way worse than actually doing the exercise. You'll be fine! And feel loads better after I'm sure.

kid · 09/09/2012 21:35

The class is booked for 6pm. It's a step aerobics class so we each have our own station so no getting kicked or pushed and shoved by people that have out sneaked into the class without booking a place.

kid · 09/09/2012 22:34

I was just looking through photos on my camera and found one of my from the beginning of 2010. I had such a chubby face Shock
That should be a good enough incentive for me to make sure I don't go back to have a chubby face!

TomDaleysTrunks · 10/09/2012 08:10

Sounds like a good incentive kid.

Hope everyone has had good weekends. I've got Isobel's cold so feel pretty miserable on this grey Monday morning. Just heading into work.

Food yesterday
B: scrambled egg
L: chicken salad, fruit salad
D: stirfry
Heb 2 x alpen light bars. Snacks: ML yog and fruit
4k run and a long walk

Food today:
B: missed but have 2 alpen light bars in my bag
L: left over stirfry, fruit
D: quorn sausage and bean casserole with cabbage.

Have a good day everyone. fair hope all is OK.

kid · 10/09/2012 16:47

I'm not going gym, had a long, tough day and I want my bed :(

FairhairedandFrustrated · 10/09/2012 19:00

Yes, in-law issues. Will offload in other place when I get time.

Meanwhile, thanks slinky for the ear last night x

SlimJimBra · 10/09/2012 20:55

I know weighing all the time is not clever (I don't have scales at home for that reason) but am at my parents and have been playing with their electronic scales and I have gained 6lb since this morning! I knew there'd be a difference from first thing to last thing but 6lb Shock Will weigh again tomorrow morning and hope for the best see what difference there is!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 10/09/2012 23:40

Yes - this is the problem I have with members who weigh themselves on the morning of group before they leave for work and think they've lost 4/5lb then get annoyed when they step on scales in class and have lost 2lb!

All scales are different. Did you weigh in the same scales this morning? Was there much pooing throughout the day? (lol tmi?)

Kid, are you ok? Are you feeling the effects of being back at work or is it something else?

Has anyone been in touch with Bee? Bee if you're reading this, am thinking of you. And you too Jodie, big love xxxx

TomDaleysTrunks · 11/09/2012 08:16

Have messaged bee but no reply as of yet.
How are you doing fair? Better week?

slim tell me about it! I've been pretty good all week and so far haven't lost a pound. I'm a bit constipated though.
I'm also full of cold

Day of Doom tomorrow eek!
Food today
B: aloen light bar, fruit
L: leftover casserole
D: tuna pasta bake with low fat cheddar (HEA), leeks and courgettes

Hope everyone has a good day.

SlimJimBra · 11/09/2012 08:26

I was nekkid first thing and dressed in the eve but apart from that no diff apart from the time of day and the food I'd eaten. Will weigh again in a bit and see what today's weight is. This is why I won't have scales at home, too much angst! Won't be WI tomorrow as I have booked tonight as a holiday from group and I don't trust the scales here!
Thinking of you both bee and Jodie x

SlimJimBra · 11/09/2012 11:42

So this morning I have weighed 1.5lb lower than y'day am and 7.5lb lighter than last night Confused good reason not to weigh twice every day!

SlinkyB · 11/09/2012 13:41

Losing 7.5lbs overnight you say slimjim? Can I borrow your scales tomorrow please?! Grin

SlimJimBra · 11/09/2012 18:23

I know!! :o if only I could actually believe it was true!
