Slinky, welcome home and congratulations!!

Hope the mini moon was productive Wink

I was with J today and she is amazing! I made her lunch and she ate it all and is just totally amazing, her boys and teenager are so lucky to have a mum like her!

I also had a smear done, bleurgh, and I bled afterwards too so I hope it doesn't come back needing redone. The nurse was a bit rough with me and that's the first uncomfortable one i've had. I've been crampy all evening since.

She said the neck of my womb looks a bit red and talked about something to do with burning but I was singing the wheels of the bus so loud in my own head i'm buggered if I have any clue what she was talking about!

I noticed the last couple of times we've did the deed i've bled slightly and she said yes, this is a sign of whatever it was she was talking about.

Still none the wiser.

Bee, thinking of you sweetcheeks xxxx

Right then, here we go:

kid has lost 2lbs this week, total loss 4lbs

tom has lost 1.5lbs this week, start weight 13stone 3lbs, now weighs 11stone 5lbs total loss 1stone 12lbs

slimjim has lost 0.5lbs this week, Total loss 3st 7.5lb. 1.5 lb to go to new target.

clodaghdragonfly has gained 2lbs over 2 weeks, total loss 9lbs

justmarriedslinky has justifiably gained 3lbs. Current weight 11stone 4lbs

Well done to kid for slimmer of the week. Fab result! Not a bad list all in all. Where is everyone else? I'd like to lose 2lbs this week . I will have to pump up the exercise - I have four nights out ahead!

SlimJimBra · 05/09/2012 18:52

Yay! Great list well done everyone :)
JustMarriedSlinkyB you have to nc to that :o

SlinkyB · 05/09/2012 20:30

Well done kid - you're on a roll at the moment! And to tom and slim Smile

FHF good luck for your WI tomorrow. Sorry to hear of the uncomfortable smear, I've had one of those before and unfortunately, the sample was contaminated with blood and I had to have it re-done. Fingers crossed yours is ok! Not sure what the bleeding/neck of the womb thing is either, am sure if it was anything dodgy she'd have made sure you knew. Had to smile at you singing nursery rhymes in your head whilst she was doing it! I usually blether on about rubbish as a distraction if I'm having an uncomfortable medical procedure.

I'm not nc'ing, as would have to remember that long nn...and I can't be arsed!

My Mum was apologetic on Saturday, tbh she was gutted too, but there really is no excuse! Ah well, am sure my mind is already fading out the not-so-great memories and bringing the brilliant ones to the forefront; hoorah! Like you said slim you can't change the past, only the future.

I've got a sore throat and slight headache...think it's because I'm due back at work tomorrow, boo!

Clodaghdragonfly · 05/09/2012 20:32

well done you losersGrin

I will do better next week, though the exercise is on hold. Have been pottering about since work at 12 (shopping, and moving and changing the kids beds) and feel quie sore now.

well done kid for sow. it's a short list atm isn't it. I noticed FHF had a post on FB which said only 17 WIs til xmas (I think!!!

Clodaghdragonfly · 05/09/2012 20:34

I am shivery and snuffly slinks. back-to-work-itis is a funny thingWink

SlinkyB · 05/09/2012 20:55

You're snuffly and covered in bruises and bumps?! You win! Wink

GettinTrimmer · 05/09/2012 20:59

Hi all

I am late with my weigh in report.

I've just got back from slimmers world, the group is at my dc's school and there was a PTA cheese and wine party afterwards (oops!!).

However, I am happy because I have lost 2lbs!!!!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 05/09/2012 21:55

Brilliant GT!! Well done! What's that in total now?

I hope I have a loss tomorrow night! I have had a good food week, I had a few extra syns today (comfort food) but still only 11 syns.

Breakfast I skipped as I was so nervous about smear.

Lunch was salad, lettuce, tomato, hard boiled egg. beetroot, rice, mixed peppers and red onion. I had a little (spoonful) of potato salad and I'm sure it wasn't lighter than light mayo in it! I counted 4 syns.

Dinner was SW sausages (2 syns) sw chips and beans.

Snacks: plum, kiwi, apple, blueberries, half bag of hunky dorys (prob less) 3 syns, 4 mikado sticks (2 syns)

Total syns for today 11.

kid · 05/09/2012 22:47

I've had a bad SW day, I blame it on the fact I WI and so I can treat myself. Do you reckon that will be okay if I don't make a habit of it? We had training at work so lunch was provided which included cakes and other naughties. I dind't stuff my face but I definitely went way over syns.

I need to stay focussed if I am going to continue on my losses. I have just been looking at old photos and am amazed that I was quite slim in some of the photos yet I clearly remember feeling or thinking I looked fat. If only I could be that 'fat' again.

The training at work was about having a 'can do' attitude and how having small steps to reach a bigger target is the way to go. Also about haivng faith in yourself that you can do anything that you want. If you have to work towards acheiving something, that makes it more rewarding, targets are meant to be something you work hard to achieve. I know all of that to be true, I just need to believe in myself that I can and will do it.

SlimJimBra · 05/09/2012 22:51

Well done GT :)
FH Last time I had a smear ds was sat astride my tummy and I was busy singing (out loud) and trying to entertain him - certainly the only time I can honestly say I didn't really notice what the nurse was doing!
My meals have been really good today, pity I can't say the same for the huge piece of chocolate cake I had when I was out with a friend this afternoon :( or the 5 chocolate eclair sweets I piggied this evening Blush

kid · 05/09/2012 22:55

I need to read what I type as I keep mixing the letters up in words. I bet you can all understand it though and I reckon you are also going to check if I did mess up typing any words (I know I would!)

Good luck for your WI Fairhaired, hope you are happy with the result.

I had a smear yesterday but I told the nurse how terrified I was. She was amazing and so, so kind to me. It didn't hurt at all although I am slightly worried about the result for no real reason. After the test, I thought that it was fine and I'll be okay about having it done again next time, but in reality I know I'll still be terrified when the time comes.

Hope you have a good day back at work tomorrow Slinky, early night and some hot chocolate to soothe the sore throat. I hope the happy memories continue to block out the not so happy ones.

GettinTrimmer · 06/09/2012 09:54

fairhaired I'm going by my sw weigh ins every week; my scales at home first thing in the morning without clothes on makes me way lower! It will weaken my resolve. Last two weeks I have lost 3.5lb.

I wasn't sure if I'd lose this week after over-indulging on free food and too many syns.

clodagh hope you are feeling better soon.

I am going to the docs this morning, I woke up with swollen glands and I look like I have a few double chins. Also have a white tongue Confused no idea what is wrong, feel a bit tired but otherwise well.

Anyway, I have a new job, it's a pain as I never know when I'm working (supply work for 6 local libraries). I went in on Tuesday and spent 5 hours carrying books, bending, stretching and on my feet the whole time. Good for weight loss I hope!

Clodaghdragonfly · 06/09/2012 11:23

sounds like a fab job gettintrimmer, and the bonus exercise tooSmile

I am looking for a new job - day one back at work and the whole politics thing kicked off within about 10 mins, as it seems someone new has taken over the job of someone else who is off sick and was job-sharing with another lady who now doesn't know if she has a job or not... no doubt the jungle drums would be beating yesterday (to the person who is sick) and there will be a whole new load of hassle and bitching to listen to today (and it's never straightforward to retell the story eitherWink).

GettinTrimmer · 06/09/2012 12:39

Clodagh, that sounds horrendous, I don't like getting involved in politics but before you know it find ourselves dragged in. Good luck with job hunting.

Anyway, I have mumps Shock even though I had every vaccination going when I was a kid. Can still get a mild version of it apparently, so I hope it goes away very soon as I have tickets for the theatre Sat night Sad would hate to miss it, seeing Kim Cattrall as Cleopatra.

kid · 06/09/2012 13:28

You poor thing gettintrimmer, mumps is horrible. Hope you make a quick recovery.

DH had another scary whooping cough incident last night. He was asleep on the settee and suddenly work up gasping for breath. It was the same as the night I phoned the ambulance but I was able to keep him calm and get him breathing quickly. He has gone to work today, I think I'll phone him to see how he is.

Chocolatemakesmefat · 06/09/2012 13:43

Sorry didn't check in with WI result last night completely forgot.

What with drinking Leffe for four days, eating for 3 at my Dads party on Saturday and eating gorgeous danishes from Costco on WI morning it was a complete surprise to loose half a pound!!!!!

No doubt it'll bite me on the bum next week.

Sorry not caught up on thread, but Huge congrats to SlinkyB

Catch up soon

Clodaghdragonfly · 06/09/2012 13:49

oh no gettintrimer hope you feel much better soon.

that sonds v scary kid. hope he is OK.

SlinkyB · 06/09/2012 21:12

Hey all, how's it going? Sorry to hear of your mumps GT Sad get well soon.

choc sounds like you've been having lots of food fun lately Smile

Can I join you in the job hunting dept please clodagh? I hate my job - the women I work with are so utterly cheerless, and they tend to drag me down with them some days (which is no mean feat, as I'm generally of the sunnier disposition believe it or not). They literally did nothing for me on my last day before going on a/l to get married. No card, no balloons, no trip to the pub at lunchtime to wish me well. It really fucks me off sometimes, and I struggle to remain upbeat and pretend it doesn't bother me, when it does (they're all lovely to each other, just not me it seems...have 'only' been there 3 years). My friends and family tell me I work with a bunch of weirdos, but I do have to spend 22.5hrs per week with them, and sometimes wonder if I'd be better off finding something else.

Think I'm just suffering with post-wedding blues, sorry. Have consoled myself with 1/3 tub of B&J Phish Food Blush and am now packing my sorry ass off to bed.

I'm thinking of getting back into the jogging in the evenings - when's your next 5k run TDT?

SlinkyB · 06/09/2012 21:13

Sorry kid how's your dh?

TomDaleysTrunks · 06/09/2012 21:14

clodagh hope work was OK.

gettintrimmer poor you, get well soon!

chocolate well done for the loss.

I've been super good today.
B: fruit and ff yog
Lunch: ham and couscous salad
Dinner: spaghetti and meatballs (syn free)
Snacks fruit, ryvita (heb)
Plus 3 mile walk and 5km run.

Tomorrow won't be so perfect as we are off to Paralympics in the evening. I can't wait!
This weather is blooming lovely too. Had a perfect day out with DD and some friends. Hope everyone's alright. I'm especially thinking of bee and fair at the moment xx

TomDaleysTrunks · 06/09/2012 21:17

Oh cross posts with mrsslinky. You never answered my question about walking like a cowboy after your mini moon? What days do you work? I'm near Bradford on Avon for 4 days from Thursday if you want a coffee?

Next run is 25th aug. I'm really out of practice at the mo but have managed 2 runs this week which didn't go well. Not
Expecting a fab time but will plod on.

SlinkyB · 06/09/2012 21:38

You have managed two runs already this week? That's pretty good going! I work Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays unfortunately (typical!) Are you busy on the weekend? I'll pm ya.

Oh! No walking like John Wayne on/after Minimoon as AF showed up the day before the fecking wedding! Angry Which I'd kinda knew would happen, but didn't want to go on pill or anything as think we'll prob try ttc'ing soon-ish. Ah well, we made up for it last night Wink

Clodaghdragonfly · 06/09/2012 23:04

are you meant to do the deed on your honeymoon? Shock I remember having my first orgasm on my wedding night, but it came in a glass!Wink (not bad for a provincial-country-town pub) My first and only... cocktailWink

sorry, silly again tonight (which is a good thing as I was under a cloud an hour ago)

work was OK, barring undercurrrents, them-and-us, and never being able to please the boss, and the "support" staff member I was working fairly closely with last year when I was volunteering seems to have blanked me thus far. and those who manage to stand around doing nothing.

am v proud of DS1. he has just started year 11, but for some reason they did some GCSE exams last year in yr 10 (I don't know why, and am not sure I think it's a good idea). Anyhow, he got a BSmile

Clodaghdragonfly · 06/09/2012 23:05

I missed a / out there.
