Here we are again - new thread time! Can you believe we're on our 9th one?

I've been down to DFS and got us some new squidgy sofas. Feel free to add anything else you like Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 27/08/2012 21:50

Why waste syns? Cos I like it Wink

Today was ok'ish.... am not going to list syns but tomorrow is a new day to be filled with heaps of superfree!

Clodagh and pixie, chin up girls, it's awful feeling so low, believe me I know.

I gave an 8st award to a lady at a group I was covering tonight - she hasn't even been there a year!! Isn't that amazing? She totally inspired me and made me feel so good.... if she can lose that in 40 odd weeks, surely to God I can lose 10lb in time for Halloween???

SlimJimBra · 27/08/2012 22:23

Hi everyone :)
Feeling nervous about WI tomorrow, haven't exactly been eating healthily the last few days, have had guests since thurs and have had wine and chocolate and cake and all sorts... Will be looking out my lightest possible dress for group tomorrow and will have to make sure I've been to the loo as much as possible beforehand (tmi, but I'm sure we've all done it!)
Glad you had a good night out FH and Envy of all of you on holiday

Clodaghdragonfly · 27/08/2012 22:34

LOL slim. blow your nose and cut your nails... Wink good luck

sorry FHF, I just had toWink, It is a conversation I have with super-skinny, not-greedy and weight conscious DM Every Bloody Time we have a BBQ - she insists on buttering the rolls for burgers and sausages, and I always tell her not to bother because there is still enough fat in the meat to make the bread moist, and then if you add ketchup or mayo... She has finally compromised by only buttering one half of a roll Confused. When I think back to my teenage years when we all lived life according to Rosemary Conley...Shock (If only "talking the talk" made the walking of the weight-loss walk easier. If I lived by what comes out of my mouth - rather than what goes in it - I would be svelt!)

watching vintage Marple with DH and partaking of a glass or two. Sorry. Have felt pants for 2 days now, and hoping to feel better with a bit of self-indulgenceBlush

FairhairedandFrustrated · 27/08/2012 23:18

Clodagh, I used to butter my burger baps too, but I think its cos my mum wouldn't let us have sauce when we were younger lol, she always told us it was too spicy!! Hmm

Slim, do you need a haircut before tomorrow? lol, lots of toilet trips, shave your legs & armpits and hopefully it'll be dry enough for u to wear light leggings and a strappy top.... all these wee tricks Wink

Am in bed with coffee and an apple... wishing it were something with Cadbury written on it...

TomDaleysTrunks · 28/08/2012 08:13

Morning everyone.
I Am Officially Back.

Things are chaotic planning the move and our minder is on hols so have a variety of family popping in and out to look after DD. I was also working all weekend but managed to mostly stick to plan.

This weekend we are off to Monmouthshire to look at the area and make a decision where we would like to live. I'm getting more and more apprehensive about things as time moves on but hope it will be ok.

Food today
B: weetabix(heb and a) and fruit
L: chicken and cous cous salad
D: beef kofta curry, rice and some broccoli.
Snacks fruit and a ML yog

How's everyone doing?
choc how was France?
bee how's tricks?
slinky not long to go till you will be walking down the aisle. Are you excited? Plans coming together?

fh&f how's your sister. I'm so impressed with that woman at your group. I howled with laughter about ketchup being spicy.

kid sounds like you had a fab hol, awesome.
clodagh sorry you are feeling blue. I did Grin about buttered buns though. When is back to school?
jodie and lots of love. Hope you had a wee break this weekend.
slim I wouldn't worry about one blip. I thought you were at target though? When's DH back?
hedge how did the move go? All settled?

TomDaleysTrunks · 28/08/2012 08:15

Oh I missed out gettingtrimmer. Hello Me Lover! Welcome to the gang. Your goal is tots do-able by Christmas. Well done with the restraint at the Indian Buffet.

Chocolatemakesmefat · 28/08/2012 08:40

TDT hi there, France was gorgeous, lots of sunshine, cider and wine along with all the yummy cheese, weather fantastic which was much needed and DD very happy as we stayed at one site for 4 days which meant she was with her friends from last year for longer.

In Belgium at the moment, again weather is gorgeous, making use of the free WiFi, though leave this hotel today and may not have any later, so won't be able to see how marvellously you all did.

Slim if you think its going to be real bad just say star week, gets the consultant off your back, if you've used that excuse too often then I have nothing else .....sorry Grin

Back with you all Thursday Smile

SlimJimBra · 28/08/2012 08:49

Thanks for all the cheats tips :o TDT I dropped my target by 7lb 3 weeks ago as I was bouncing along at 3 to 4 lb under my old target, so thought I'd lower it a bit.
I love butter on a bacon buttie, nothing beats the butter melting into the bread on contact with the hot bacon. Mmmmmm!!!
Weather for sat is looking good slinks :)

SlimJimBra · 28/08/2012 08:52

DH is home in 4 weeks TDT

GettinTrimmer · 28/08/2012 08:56

Morning all Smile

Do you all weigh in tomorrow?

chocolate what is a 'star' week? I like the sound of it! I loved our holiday in the Cote d'Azur two years ago, what part of France were you staying in?

FairHaired that is brilliant the award to the lady who lost 8st.

I felt very stuffed after my Indian buffet, and went up for a little bit more chick pea curry and rice. I have counted 17 syns. Oops. But did go for a walk/half jog in the morning. I am an ex-runner!

SlimJimBra · 28/08/2012 09:27

Hi gettintrimmer Star week is period week. Some people suffer water retention at that time and it's come to be a bit of an excuse for a bad week!

SlimJimBra · 28/08/2012 09:34

Posted too soon, our WI on the thread is Wed - we all pm the person compiling the list with our WI details. As much detail as you like from "lost 1lb" to "stating weigh x target weight y lost 1lb this week, total loss z" or more if you can think of it!
My rl WI is tonight so I use that weight as my WI on Wed am on this thread.

Chocolatemakesmefat · 28/08/2012 09:49

Hi gettintrimmer star week is your period week where you get a bit of sympathy and leaway if you have a nice leader.

In France we took the in laws camper van and travelled through Normandy through Brittany to the Louvre I think its spelt furthest we got was Le Fleche, just gorgeous, we love France and go to different parts throughout the year all on a budget mind!

Good luck with your first mn weigh in who knows you may get the wrinkly piece of fruit this week! Grin

kid · 28/08/2012 09:50

what about if you don't have star weeks (like me at the moment), can I just pick and chose when I think it might be so I can excuse the lack of weight loss?

I feel cheated with this weeks WI as I haven't been home a full week from holiday yet so its a case of a 4 day weight loss for me. I find it so hard to stick to SW when DH is home from work, he is such a bad influence. Nothing at all do to with me be so weak Grin

I was meant to go gym last night but they cancelled the class as it was a bank holiday. See, the whole world is against me trying to lose weight

TomDaleysTrunks · 28/08/2012 16:59

I'll do the list tomorrow so Pm me. Might have to post it Thursday morning as I'm out for dinner tomorrow night. Will see what time and how pissed I am I get home.

chocolate sounds like a bloody lovely holiday. Very jealous.

slim another target. I am insanely jealous. Seriously, well done you. Glad DH is home relatively soon, not long to go now.

Clodaghdragonfly · 28/08/2012 19:18

if I had a leader I don't think they would believe me that my star week is almost continuousHmm

am very excited, I have just realised that the little boys and I don't go back to school until Wednesday, so we are going to try and sneak away for the weekendGrin Very Happy Bunny. We will have to come home on Monday as DS1 is back at school on Tuesday.

SlimJimBra · 28/08/2012 21:01

Well as expected it's a gain for me after a bad (lovely) weekend with the family. Oh well it was definitely worth it :o

TomDaleysTrunks · 29/08/2012 08:04

I've gained too .

SlinkyB · 29/08/2012 08:33

Morning all - good luck with Day of Doom! Just Weighed-in and stayed-the-same again, which I'm still finding weird but I'll take it!

Been eating lots of naughty foods as, although I have my final dress fitting this afternoon, and get married in 3 sleeps time, I have also been thinking "holiday time! Wahoo! No work = wine and chocolate every evening". Whoops.

My Australian friends have been visiting from Brisbane with their 12wk old boy, so enjoyed cuddles with him and a day out yesterday at a local farm place. Did keep my eye out for you there slimjim Wink.

Plans for wedding all coming together thanks TDT; apart from the fact the mobile hairdresser I usually use, massively cocked up with my colour on Friday...so came back on Monday to fix it, and made it worse Angry My usual blonde highlighted hair looks like someone's tipped a bucket of bleach over it, waaah! Looks like a really bad home-hair job, so am going to an amazing hairdresser in my home town tomorrow to get it fixed properly (I hope). Which makes my day super-hectic, but it needs to be done.

How exciting that you're moving from the big smoke to Wales! Not surprised you're anxious/nervous too, anyone would be. Good luck with the house hunting. How is DD these days? I'm really enjoying DS atm; 18mo seems to be such a lovely age, he's started copying things we say/do, and is such a happy little chappy. Going to miss him when we're on our mini-moon...even if it is only 48hrs on the coast Grin

Anyway, enough whinging from me, hope you're all ok. Try not to worry too much about the gains, we've all been there but YOU CAN DO IT! Stay focused, and on this thread, and you will reach target soon I promise.

SlinkyB · 29/08/2012 08:34

Forgot to say a big welcome to gettingtrimmer ! Smile

SlimJimBra · 29/08/2012 10:27

Aw, we were there on Sun slinky :) I agree that the 18-2y stage is a lot of fun, ds is copying us (has its down sides as well as ups mind) and learning new stuff. You can see the connections being made :o We were talking about ponies the other day and he said 'hat' because when he went on a pony ride he had to wear a hat - he amazes me when he does stuff like that.
How gutting re hairdresser :( hope your home hairdresser can fix it fx
TDT did I miss news of you moving? And to lovely Wales Envy

kid · 29/08/2012 15:46

I didn't gain, whoohoo. If I had gained I'd want to know why! My eating this week has been a massive improvement on the last 2 weeks eating so I was never going to gain anyway. But I have scrapped any previous weightloss from my DoD so I am starting from zero loss.

I went out today to get the last bits for school for DC. What a nightmare those Paralympics are proving to be. You can't drive or park anywhere near the stadium so I wasn't happy. I also wasn't happy that DH hadn't put the SatNav back in the car so I just had to find a way to Asda by myself. By some miracle, I actually found my way there which I was pleased and impressed about.

GettinTrimmer · 29/08/2012 19:08

slinky sorry to hear about your hair going wrong, will you stop using your mobile hairdresser? Good luck for your big day too! Are you getting married in a church/hotel?

Tom enjoy your dinner tonight.

I am going to my group in a bit, I get weighed at 7.30 but according to my scales at home I've lost 5lb this week, but it was after extreme over-indulgence during holiday and like week one again.

My ds has gone off for his first sleepover at a friend's house (age 10). Feel rather nostalgic thinking about when he was 18months/2 years! Agree it is a lovely age. Just dd here tonight who is most disgruntled at not going on a sleepover. Tempted to go to Sainsbury's after weigh in to get a chocolate cake Grin.

SlimJimBra · 29/08/2012 20:40

Haha gettintrimmer I am always tempted to get cake after WI (well except not this week after a gain!)

SlinkyB · 29/08/2012 21:27

Getting married in local register office, then back to hotel for buffet and ceilidh band and shit loads of booze. Am sure hair will he sorted tomorrow thanks, also collecting cake, shopping for belts and braces (I'm not even joking) and getting my spray tan. Eek. Hope I don't look like Bubbles De Vere again Wink

Needless to say, will never be using same hairdresser again - she practically ran out the house!

kid Well done for not gaining; you only got home from two weeks all inclusive on Fri didn't you?! Shock Bummer about traffic round your way, but it's a small price to pay for the paralympics, right? Smile

Hope you got on well at weigh-in gettintrimmer, and that you're enjoying your boozy supper Tom
