Here we are again - new thread time! Can you believe we're on our 9th one?

I've been down to DFS and got us some new squidgy sofas. Feel free to add anything else you like Grin

Slinky I got home on Saturday and had a few sneaky treats over the weekend, just to wean myself off holiday food junk you understand lol

Traffic round here is a huge pain in the backside. If you go in the wrong lanes or park without virtual permit, its a £130 fine plus the risk of having your car towed away. I guess its nice to be close to the Olympic Stadium, not that I have any tickets to go and see anything. DS is going to see Athletics on Tuesday with his school.

Hope your hair does get sorted for your big day, I can't believe the hairdresser ruined it Sad Thats why I am fussy about where I get my hair cut and I'd quite easily go a year or more without getting it cut. I might try and squeeze in a haircut over the weekend actually seeing as I never managed to fit it in before I went away.

Clodaghdragonfly · 29/08/2012 22:52

sorry I missed DoD, have had a hectic day getting ready for our weekend (we leave tomorrow), DS2 had a friend round for lunch, and DS3 and his friend from down the street were playing out in the pouring rain digging up the street (and his friend was eating the mud!) My house would be lovely and tidy, if it wasn't for all the bloody muddy footprints.

will probably be back on Monday...

good luck slinky, have a very happy day, and enjoy every momentSmile

GettinTrimmer · 30/08/2012 09:37

Morning all Smile big variation from my scales first thing in the morning and slimmers world scales at 7.30, lost 1.5lb last night. But I am happy as it's going in the right direction.

Did overindulge last night. This is one of my sabotage techniques, after a loss I think 'oh well' and go for it Blush I am hoping it won't make too much difference next week as back on the plan today.

I saw a sheet last night that with 'sos' on it that will help with not messing things up, will try and collect some.

slinky hope all goes well.

kid we had all inclusive on holiday too just impossible not to overindulge. What a great experience for your ds to see the athletics with his school.

kid · 30/08/2012 15:50

I've been really good today, DH is at work so not too difficult to stick to plan.
I've had:
B- 2 weetabix, milk, tea
L- Creamy mushroom pasta (SW recipe)
D- Spinach and risotta pasta (I'll add some bacon to DH's meal as he doesn't like no meat)

Snacks, muller lights, fruit.
I've got a gym class tonight but I am quite reluctant to actually go as I haven't been for ages. I know I will feel better if I do go, but its the actual turning up all on my own as all my gym buddies left (wimps that they are lol)

Gettintrimmer, any loss is good as far as I am concerned so well done on your loss this week. Like you say, its going in the right direction, keep up the good work.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 30/08/2012 16:30

GT it will have been an SAS log you saw Wink

Slimmers Against Sabotage:)

Consultants use this if their members are getting nowhere but are sure they're 100% food optimising - this log catches the small things like an extra biscuit or the choccy bar you eat on the way home, the short cuts like not weighing and measuring healthy extras.

Slinky, can't believe your wedding is here already! Doesn't time fly, and I've had a hairdresser balls up my hair too, 3 days before a dinner dance ;( I had to get it dyed brown to cover the yellow, I never went back near her and it's a shame as I loved the way she cut it.

I haven't weighed yet this week, am planning on getting to a class tonight, and am looking at 2 or 2.5lb gain.... Bugger it!!

TomDaleysTrunks · 30/08/2012 17:26

SlimJimBra · 30/08/2012 19:47

I have to confess a really bad day yesterday - mini sausage rolls, mini sausages, cheese straws, cheese, mini muffin and a big slice of coffee cake :( am totally gutted at myself, after a gain on tues (not unexpected) I really wanted to have a good week but I blew it on the first day. I've tried to be good today (6.5 syns) and I'll try again tomorrow but have a meal out tomorrow night and a wedding on sat and a birthday party (for a 2yo) on sun so won't be able to be good very much over the weekend. Think I'll have to stock up on fruit so on sat and sun I can try to limit the damage... Grrr really want that 2lb off to get to my new target. Keep me focused girls - I need your help :(

kid · 30/08/2012 20:10

Well done on your losses huffpot and Gettintrimmer

Don't write off the whole weekend, work around where you know you are going to have to be flexible. I reckon that might mean syn free omelette for breakfast/lunch or fruit and yogurt. Munching on carrots is good as they are quite filling and take a while to eat, same with celery which I can't stand but will force myself to eat it now and again.

I was all prepared to go gym, are dinner by 5:30 so that would give it close to 2 hours to go down. DH and DC's dinner was in the oven ready for them to dish it up themselves. I knew I was getting DH from work at just after 6 but he didn't come out until 6:55 and it was in Central London so there was no way I could make it back to the gym class in time. I secretly didn't mind though Blush
To try and compensate for it a little bit, I took the dog out for a walk and then bathed him when we got in. Thats a task and a half which I won't be doing again in a hurry!

GettinTrimmer · 31/08/2012 15:10

Thanks all.

Tom I completely know where you are coming from. According to the Slimmers World scales though I've only lost 1.5lb this week, but I am still happy because it's a loss. My scales are kinder Grin.

I love tuna melts! At least you are recording what you're eating. If your mum cooks Nigella Lawson's chocolate fudge cake I would be very jealous.

I lost 1.5 stone on another thread started on here a couple of years ago now.
I put the whole lot back on again Blush SO this time I will lose it and really want to maintain.

Just a thought - one thing that motivated me last time - I looked out all my clothes that didn't fit me anymore. I am going to do that again later on today. It spurred me on as I really wanted to wear them again.

Fairhaired Thanks for info about the SOS sheet. I do self sabotage and it needs sorting out.

Anyway - I have a question - is it OK to eat tons of free food? For instance:

Breakfast - 3 scrambled eggs, 2 slices of 400g wholemeal toast (healthy extra), 1/4 plate mushrooms & tomatoes fried with spray oil.

Lunch - 3 quorn sausages (3 syns), 1/4 plate of salad and a PILE of slimmers world chips.

It's free food but I gave myself seconds of the slimmers world chips (I am stuffed now and probably won't eat much else today). I think there is an element of portion control though because 1/4 of plate is salad.

Sorry for long post!....

kid · 31/08/2012 16:18

No idea about a limit to free food, apparently you can have as much as you want but I can't see how that would work. I tend to fill up a plate once at the most and thats it, unless its salad I'm nibbling, extras of that is fine by me.

I weighed myself again this morning and am delighted that I have lost all of the holiday weight already, it took 5 days which I am impressed with. I know I should stop weighing myself between DoD but I was curious.

Its takeaway night for us tonight, I think I'll have chicken chowmein as I can stay within syns quite easily then.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 31/08/2012 21:34

At Slimming World it is strong advised to have as much free food as you need ie: as you can comfortably eat - not stuffing yourself for the sake of it :)

I've had another good day after staying the same at this week's weigh in - I was relieved about that after the events of last week. Food Diary is on the go as well, I will get back to target!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 31/08/2012 21:34

Good Luck for tomorrow SLINKY :) :) :) :) :) :)

Back from holiday and straight back into SW, hopefully I didnt do too much damage whilst away (wishful thinking)

Got a big night out tonight so it will be a gain this week I think for me.

Well done to all the losers this week for the gainers you know what to do.

Anyway hope you all having a relaxing weekend Smile

kid · 01/09/2012 14:07

Is any cottage cheese with chives free on a green day. please say yes, please say yes.

While out today, I had jacket potato with cottage cheese while dh and dd had pie and mash. I was all pleased with myself for not failing but then I realised I might have anyway. Not the end of the world but a little bit annoying.

GettinTrimmer · 01/09/2012 16:20

I've just looked at the website Kid, if it's ASDA or Sainsbury's Be Good to Yourself range etc it's free.

I looked for myself to find out how many syns are in sainsbury's jam doughnuts, but it only mentions jam & cream variety, lots of syns. That will be my lot today if I decide to have it I suspect it's about 9 syns.

kid · 01/09/2012 16:47

I have no idea what it was as I got it from a cafe type place. Oh well, minimum syns for the rest of the day.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 01/09/2012 22:15

Plan going good for me so far today again.

Breakfast was fruit.

Lunch was heB wholemeal plan, mayo extra light 1 syn, lettuce, tomato, cucumber followed by a plum and a kiwi.

Dinner was KFC style goujons and wedges and a lovely salad. I've a fruit salad in front of me here.... I didged a take away tonight by telling DH I was cooking and he could have a rest LOL

I visited sis today, she her her first chemo on Wed and has been very ill, doc has been and administered anti sickness injection, today she had perked up a bit and managed a bit of soup.

Won't put it all here, but she's good for now xx

Hope Slinky had a FAB day xx
