The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Thanks Faith. I'd much rather have a slow and steady loss and yo-yo dieting.

Btw does anyone know if you can get the PMK book/cd at the library? Just been asked on this thread

ppeatfruit · 09/06/2012 14:00

hello all! mardy congrats on the half stone sounds like you've 'got it' now, slow and steady is the BEST way IMO.

i've just been on that thread and recommended that she asks the library to get the books for her. sings .".if you can help somebody"SmileGrin

FartBlossom · 09/06/2012 18:07

Half a stone is a good loss mardy Well done.

I have just read the book now. My next steps are: Leave something on my plate every meal, weigh myself tomorrow morn then again in 2 weeks, re-read the book tomorrow stopping after each bit and really thinking about what I have just read (I just read it from cover to cover), listen to the CD.

I was thinking about listening to the CD 3 times a week, is this enough or should I really do it every day?

I didnt really read the exercise bit too much as 9/10 weeks ago I started the couch to 5K and can now run 25+ mins non-stop and I am going to enrol in a 10K in Sept so that bits sorted for me.

FartBlossom · 10/06/2012 08:11

Right so I have weighed myself this morning and I am 12st 3.4lbs. Will see where I am in 2 weeks. Feel really excited about doing this.

suzi2 · 10/06/2012 09:44

Well done Mardy. That's the kind of change that stays off :-D

Fart, good luck :-D

I'm off the wagon this last week. Not enough to put the weight back on, but enough to not lose anything. This is what always happens - I fall out of the habit and forget to Paul. I've hit a funny point where my 16 trousers are feeling a bit too loose, but the 14s are still too tight. so I'm squeezing into the 14s today to try and physically remind me to eat consciously. Will see if it works!

ppeatfruit · 10/06/2012 10:57

Hello everyone. Fblossom the exercise bit is interesting in P.M. he says only do hard running jogging etc. IF YOU ENJOY IT and I soo agree everyone is different and we benefit in diff, ways; I do stretches and dancing every day and walk a lot. The other problem with it is when (if) you stop it's easy to find the weight going back on quite quickly. With the C.D. I just listen when I've the time and or when i need a quick nap (pick me up) in the day!

suzi I find the vanity sizing a bit annoying as well. I DO find that tight jeans remind when I'm approaching the FULL feeling efficiently! Grin

FartBlossom · 10/06/2012 11:32

Thanks suzi and pp

Im really loving running ATM and excited about doing a proper race.

Good idea about wearing smaller clothes to tell you when you are full etc. Perhaps I should wear my shapewear pants when I eat, I certainly wont be over-eating then Grin

I'm still here!!

Can I join in. I can't face joining another slimming club. I lose weight so slowly that I end up feeling embarrassed. Being over fifty and flabby around the waist is really getting me down and I seem to be eating just for the sake of it.

I have lost control. So tomorrow I shall be joining you all on this thread. I have the book and cd.

MardyBra · 10/06/2012 23:16

Hello and welcome to the thread allofaflumble (Do you prefer allof or flumble btw. I'm very lazy at typing names!)

And welcome to a new way of eating. I'm not quite the big 5-0 but am closer to it than I care to think, and I think there are a few other old gimmers on the thread like Solo. If you are "eating for the sake of it", this is the right place for you. Once you're in the swing, you hopefully won't want to.

Solo · 11/06/2012 00:32

OI!!!! Grin

ppeatfruit · 11/06/2012 08:47

Morning all Smile nice to hear from you solo Grin how's it going ATM?

Thanks for the old gimmers comment Mardy !!! but i'm out and proud as an old gimmer Grin

allof you've found the BEST WOE ever here!! With acupressure exes and healthy eating (no cal. counting or shxx diet food) i've lost me flab and 3 stone and JUST managing to keep it at bay! Also we're lovely on here honest aren't we??

arfur · 11/06/2012 09:02

I saw mardy's comment last night and have been hiding behind the sofa Grin morning all - bloomin tippin it down here today!

BigBoobiedBertha · 11/06/2012 09:04

Hello.

Not sure what happenened - I posted last Thursday and it isn't here. Confused

MN did got down a few minutes later but I thought my post was there. Obviously not.

Can't remember what I said now. It was bound to be be something very profound. Wink

Off to read up on the thread from last Thursday whilst I dry out. Heating's on and its pouring with rain. It must be summer!

Allofaflumble · 11/06/2012 09:15

Mardy Thanks for the welcome. Flumble will do. I read a bit of the book last night and listened to the cd but fell asleep. I really need to get some of those jelly in ear headphones.

Weight this am. 10 stone 8.5 - I have gained 5 lbs over the last month!

I am only wee, so this is too much by far for me. I would be happy to shift 1 stone and 8.5 lbs but it's going to take some time I know.

Love knowing I am a "gimmer". :)

Solo · 11/06/2012 12:06

It's not going at all well pp :( I have nowt to play the cd's on and really really need to listen to them. I have gained a bit and have this roll of fat that has appeared between my bra and my jeans! most uncomfortable!! and very unsightly Blush

Welcome Flumble and hello everyone else :)

OP posts:
ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 11/06/2012 13:32

Ah yes the roll of fat. I'm sure I didn't get this when I briefly gained weight in my twenties < another old gimmer - 49 >.
I've just taken mine round Sainsbury's and felt it jiggle behind the trolley all the way round. Not nice.
Could you get an mp3 player and download the ap, Solo? I don't think they cost a great deal on Amazon now.

Solo · 11/06/2012 13:37

It does jiggle doesn't it?!! Blush

I think I might try to put the discs on my MP3 player ~ though I don't want to lose the music that's on that...hmmmmm...

ppeatfruit · 11/06/2012 13:53

Ref. high roll of fat solo and shot Put yr legs up high and straight (against a wall or something this isn't a torture yrself thread Grin then do the same exercise that we do for our muffin tops.

For those who don't know; bring the top of yr body up slowly by 5 or 6 cms. keeping yr head in line with yr spine for a count of 5 or 6 secs. This works if you do it 3 times in a.m. and 3 times before bed every day for results.

I also do twists ; face front feet facing front and twist yr waist as far round as you can go (aim to look behind you properly)!

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 11/06/2012 14:29

Thanks I'll try that PP.
How many reps for the twist, or do you hold that?

Are these from your Stephen Chang book btw? I did look at that and it looked intriguing. I've bought so many books and systems of 'healing' for my back - not sure I could add another to my heaving bookshelves. Might make it the Next Thing I try - have just started c25k and some basic, conventional workouts so not sure how I'd fit in anything more timewise. I also try to do lots of stretches each day. Will deffo try the stomach thing for starters though!

ppeatfruit · 11/06/2012 15:15

No shotgun I saw the muffin buster on telly and as I always put my feet up in the morning I started doing it in that position too and noticed it worked on the fat ABOVE the belly Grin. If you start with yr arms by yr side bringing them over yr head makes it more difficult.
On the twist which is my own too (but similar to the Chang ones!) you start small and work up to as many as you want and hold as long as you want.

Being a really old gimmer my exercise history is long Grin I studied ballet as a little girl then gave it up when I discovered boys Blush I did modern dance at COE and yoga etc. also weird Lotte Berk exercises and taught L.Os. and adults keep fit, yoga etc. But I have found that the Stephen Chang book (I only discovered it 3 yrs. ago through DS) stretches are the best I've ever done (I never liked yoga much TBH).

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 11/06/2012 17:17

I'll take that as a valuable recommendation then Smile.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 11/06/2012 17:25

Hello Paulers! Grin

'tis I, Alibaba, returning from France

We've had a fabulous time, weather was mixed but generally warm/hot and fairly dry. I have eaten my own bodyweight in cheese, and personally attempted to drain the Burgundy wine lake. I don't dare step on the scales, not until I've eaten normally for a couple of days and the water retention has gone.

FartBlossom · 11/06/2012 21:07

hi everyone. Been a few posts since I was last on.

Im doing ok with my leaving bits on the plate with meals (one of my biggest problem areas was trying to clean my plate which often left me over full) I figure that the spag bol DH has cooked wont be the last time I eat it - just thinking of one of my favourite meals. I will have the chance again one day so there really is no need to eat it until I feel stuffed. Only ok as its only really my evening meal that Im managing to do that, but then again this was the only meal (unless we go out for lunch) where I do stuff myself too much.

Ive not weighed myself and have listened to the CD three times all in different ways. Firstly in the bath, but didnt work as I couldn't hear the start due to the noise that the water was making in the pipes, secondly on my bed, but I had the ipod in the docking station, but tonight I had my earphones on and it was a lot better.

The only problem I have is that I find it difficult to relax completely at first. I feel a bit daft and then a can't help to stop doing this --> Grin. I was better tonight so hoping it goes with time.

Ive not re-read the book, but its all in the CD anyway I think?

So 3 sit-ups in the morning and 3 in the evening everyday, but holding it for 5 or 6 secs will help get rid of my wobbly belly will it? I know realistically I should be really doing sit-ups (I always look pregnant even when Im not), but I really really hate doing them.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 11/06/2012 22:51

I did the sit ups earlier this evening. Three didn't seem enough so I think I did ten - is that bad? Had to support my neck as it started to ache a bit - as always with sit ups.
One question; I couldn't feel anything so I did the thing where you press the base of the spine into the floor. Seemed to help.
