The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!!

The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry OH NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

ppeatfruit · 07/06/2012 08:11

C'mon everyone just 'cos it's Jubilee and half term that's no excuse for not Pauling WHERE ARE YOU ALL???

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 07/06/2012 08:51

I'm here! I finally got round to hopping on the scales and they indicate I've lost a few lbs! Bit vague because I didn't really weigh myself at the start and they weigh different at home to the flooring in the rented house but they've gone from 13'10" to 13'4" so I'm pleased. I am trying to apply the rules - though must get focused with the CD - and all the unpacking and lugging boxes is certainly exercise Grin

ppeatfruit · 07/06/2012 09:13

YAY !! Havea Yes the extra exercise really does help the weight loss; i'm trying to keep gardening as it's quiet here DH has a bad back and we're not going out much; he HAS to loose weight but of course as he finds it painful to walk it's got to be diet (I've tried to get him on P.M, but it's like pulling teeth! Sad)

Sorry have been a bit absent while away over the long weekend. Didn't have time to listen on my iPod either, but have only put on one pound. Which is an amazing result seeing as I was at my mother's.

This is what happened EVERY BLOODY MEALTIME:

Mother: would you like some [insert foodstuff]
Me: no thanks, I'm fine.

Mother: are you sure?/but it needs eating up/it's very nice/how about just a little bit?
Me: (slightly pointedly) no, I really don't want it now thanks
Mother:
Mother: Well how about you Dgs/dgd? You'll have some of this nice [foodstuff] won't you?

In the meantime, my dad fills up his plate with so much food that it appears like a dome shape, and wolfs it down like he's in some Olympic speed-eating event. He will then make some cursory remark like "anybody mind if I finish off the [nice foodstuff]?", and you have to get in really quickly to say that you might want a bit more in a bit before he starts shovelling it all onto his plate. (His reasoning, I think, is that because you are eating it slowly, you are not sufficiently hungry to want/need it).

No wonder I have ishoos.

MardyBra · 07/06/2012 09:35

Sorry sould read slinks INTO thread

MardyBra · 07/06/2012 09:35

And sould =should

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 07/06/2012 09:44

Thanks pp. My issue is I always went to the gym and had been running which of course meant I got really fit and burned more calories. I'm still not well enough to do that :( which is why I have to keep telling myself any movement is calorie burning! I sympathise with your DH! My DH needs to lose weight too, I suggest Pauling but its hocus pocus apparently Hmm although he did let me play the hypnosis at bedtime when I had it on my phone and he started heaving food on his plate Wink

ppeatfruit · 07/06/2012 09:45

What a pain mardy I take it you haven't said anything to yr parents about P.M. they could do with it couldn't they?

MardyBra · 07/06/2012 10:01

I've alluded to it pp (e.g. saying I'm trying not to eat unless hungry) but I'm still getting my own head around it and haven't lost significant amounts if weight, so they would just be sceptical. Once I'm beautifully trim, I may wax lyrical, but I fear that they will feel criticised.

What I do worry about is that my parents instilling the same eating ethos in my Dc. Dd is ok, I think, as she is a natural Pauler like my Dh. But Ds has a tendency towards emotional eating, and granny is constantly trying to buy his affection with "treats". Luckily we live about 100 miles away from them, so damage is limited to occasional visits. I have asked my mum many times not to over feed Ds with treats though, and it IS a source of tension.

ppeatfruit · 07/06/2012 10:10

IMO and E there's tension in most families about one thing or another !! Praps next time you go you could take the book and leave it around so they would look at it and you not say anything?

ppeatfruit · 07/06/2012 10:16

Yes havefaith mine has started eating breakfast they SORT of listen don't they? still in front of the blxxdy compooter though!!!

MardyBra · 07/06/2012 10:19

You only need to watch the first minute or so.

MardyBra · 07/06/2012 10:20

You're right pp, maybe I will try and convert them, but I fear it's too ingrained.

ppeatfruit · 07/06/2012 10:35

MardyBra · 09/06/2012 10:05

Quiet celebration. I've lost half a stone since Easter. Not a massive loss, but slow and steady seems to be the way for me. Smile
