Hi I've been steadily losing weight since Jan, nearly two stone now. I struggle when DD1 off school so use each term as reason to kick start again my next goal of losing 10lbs in next 7weeks. I've been using myfitnesspal app to log food, walk a lot with 7mth old babe in buggy and do Shred dvd 3xs a week. I'm just about to try level 3 which looks very challenging oooh...

Anyone want to join me?

Its lunch that is a nightmare as well.If i am at work take sandwiches.Any ideas?

ssmile · 16/04/2012 19:06

I've been having half a tin of soup in a mug with dry toast as dippy soldiers, or cuppa soup. I try to have 300c breakfast, 300c lunch and 500c dinner with the rest of the calories as snacks, normally banana &hot cross bun, &couple snack a jacks. I'm trying to change the way I eat not "diet". Find what you like but just have a smaller portion has worked for me :)

I'll join join. 10 lb gets me to my target. I go with low carbs, do really during the week, have a couple of glasses of wine on a Friday and end up on a carb frenzy. Last week with the kids off I put on the 4 lbs inlostvthe proceeding 3 weeks. Grrrrr

MagsAloof · 16/04/2012 19:10

I'm in. Have exactly 10lbs left I want to lose (would be happy with 7lbs, tbh).

I'm starting tomorrow

Gonna Shred before work

upsidewide · 16/04/2012 19:15

Can I join too?
I am just contemplating the 30 day shred. I'd love to lose my baby belly (baby is now almost 2.5).
I was going to try to do it by eating better portion sizes, 30 day shred, and running.
I started running last September after about 8 years of no exercise and completed a half marathon in March. I haven't really lost any weight but I do feel trimmer and stronger. However, I've kind of lost interest in running since the 1/2 marathon, but I want to get back into exercise again.

ScorpionQueen · 16/04/2012 19:19

I really need to lose a stone. I know I'll feel so much better about myself. Breakfast is a banana and coffee, I have bought packet soups or and ryvita for lunch at work, am cutting out snacks and eating a healthy meal in the evening with the family.

I wish I had more free time for exercise or to join a club though.

ssmile · 16/04/2012 19:31

Oooh fab few more joining in, really helps me to know I'm not on my own :) I've been weighing myself on Sat and writing a weekly goal on my kitchen calendar. It took me 8weeks to get comfortable with Shred level one, then 3-4wks at level two, now I'm getting ready to more onto level three. I've never done a workout DVD before but this is great, I do it when babe has a nap. I can't believe how good its been, my upper body was very weak and I can now do a few full push ups now :o which I never thought was possible.

Maybe I should consider taking the cellophane off the Shred DVD. I might have to get some scales- where can I get good (cheap) ones? I've not weighed myself since I was 16 so will probably cry as no way am I 8 stone now!

LittlePickleHead · 16/04/2012 20:18

I;mn going to try and rejoin this - kept falling off the wagon last time! Saying that level 2 on the shred is getting easier so there must be some improvement.

I want to lose 7 lbs in 5 weeks, eek!

Have just swapped wlr for mfp, it's really good isn't it! For those wondering how to stick to cals, the saviour for me is cutting carbs and going high protein, stops me feeling so hungry. I.e. boiled egg and fruit salad for breakfast, chicken salad (maybe with some quinoa or lentils) for lunch and then grilled meat/fish with veggies for dinner. I don't feel deprived that way. No way I would get through the day with a cuppa soup and ryvitas for lunch, I'd be tucking into DDs toast the minute I got home

Livinginorganisedchaos · 16/04/2012 20:52

Hello
Can I join too? Just weighed myseif yesterday after our Easter holiday and was horrifed to weigh in at 10st. 5lb. Need to loose a stone to get back to my pre festive season weight of 9st 5. Had been doing Dukan last autumn to loose the baby weight but as soon I stopped it has been creeping back on. Not helped by last weeks chocolate fest.
I am not convinced by Dukan so I am thinking more calorie controlled, getting back into running and cutting way back on mid week wine and crisps.
Need some help to stay away from the snack cupboard.

Leo35 · 16/04/2012 21:00

Hello can I join? I'd like to lose about 7-10lbs to take my BMI to the middle of the recommended range. Health reasons really. I love baking with DS2, and therefore always do a quality control check on the rock cakes, scones etc. I'm finding it harder to lose the weight now I'm over 40, and so I need some motiviation!

I'm trying to stick to muesli for breakfast, a homemade veg soup with a slice of really nice bread for lunch and then an early (healthy) dinner with the kids in the evening. Not jogging/running at the moment as got a problem with my foot. Hoping to be back in my trainers soon.

springlenner · 16/04/2012 21:37

Can I join too?? I've gained about a stone in the last 8 months or so. Mostly on my tummy. :-((
On sun holiday for easter and my stomach was a disgrace! Going to try to cycle to work 3+ days a week ( 4 miles each way), just did day 1 of 30D Shred and hope to log on to MFP tomorrow.

I find it really hard to stay motivated -- and tend to slip of the wagon ( mainly wine and choc!) so good to know there are others out there !!

musttidyupmusttidyup · 16/04/2012 21:54

Hi can I join?
I've been dieting slowly but surely since August and have lost nearly 3 stone. I still have 10lb-a stone left to lose but have not lost anything in a month.
I also use MFP and have cut my calories to 1350 to try and kick start my weightloss again. I do 2x6km runs plus 1 Zumba class a week.
I am not prepared to eat less or exercise more or give up my Wine. So a bit stuck really!
Had a fab, lovely easy dinner tonight for 550 cals, it was tofu and delish. Tofu might be my NBF. Grin

Bakerbelle · 16/04/2012 22:13

Can I join too? I am also great at term time but haven't logged on to MFP all hols. Have an unopened shred DVD in the bottom drawer and the baby needs lots of sunshine walks. Looking forward to us all inspiring each other.

Corriewatcher · 16/04/2012 22:27

Hi ssmile , I've come over from the old thread to join you!
I found the old thread really motivating and managed to get down to 9 st 4 with everyone's encouragement. However, after 2 weeks with no exericise cos of school hols including a week in France where all food seemed to consist of butter, I've put on weight. Would love to get down to 9st by the Jubilee. I'm about to start Level 3 of the Shred too - a bit scarey!

In response to ideas for lunch and snacks, there's a great article in this month's Woman & Home giving lots of ideas for 300cal lunches as well as snacks, eg BBQ chicken salad.

BulletProofMum · 17/04/2012 09:01

So I weighed myself this morning: 10 4. My target is 9.7.

I am going to Dukan it but really try not to slip at the weekends (always my downfall). I seem to have found every excuse not to run recently so Wednesday night is my running night from now on.

ssmile · 17/04/2012 10:09

scopian my local Lidls had cheap digital scales this week might be worth a look if you have one near. We bought some for £20 from argos that are good and really been worth it in keeping me on track.

Hi corriewatcher hopefully we can keep encouraging each other :) &i will check out that woman &home article as i try to do 300c lunch.

barkerbelle I love being able to walk lots with babe in buggy at my pace :) I'm making the most of it now before she wants to climb out and walk too and I'm back to snail pace too.

My weight loss is slowing as I get closer to my Target, I'm trying to keep up at losing at least 1lb a week but hopefully 1.5lbs. I was good yest was net 1100c yest so very pleased with that as I'd been 1800+c the last 2wks and only lost 0.5lb.

Am in - waves to musttidyup - 10 stone 13 so want to hit 10 stone 2 by the end of the 7 week period (if not before then!). Cant exercise as knee buggered so weight loss will have to be through sheer dint of will power and diet. wah!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 17/04/2012 10:43

I like the idea of the terms so am joining.

I am doing WW but a bit peeved about their new system making my old cookbooks defunct so this week I am working the old system.

I have lost a stone since Jan, but mostly yo yoing. I have 2 more to lose and will weigh in on Tuesdays at WW.

Hello everyone!

I am having porridge for breakfast with a glass of water/orange juice. Coffee and snack after school drop off, lunch some saladd and veggie burgers or eggs and dinner I planned for the week from one of my WW cookbooks so tonight we have chicken kebabs, some bulgur wheat and veggies.

My goal this week is to drink no more than 2 cups of coffee, I have been having about 5 and each one requires a chocolate, biscuit etc.

Fizzybee · 17/04/2012 10:47

I'd like to join I like carbs and chocolate a bit too much and still have baby weight a year later !

Bought lots of fruit nd veg yesterday so am determined to lose weight before July ŵhen I go on holiday

mixedmamameansbusiness · 17/04/2012 10:50

Yes, I decided a few weeks ago that I need to start making more effort, I am trying to wear a little make up, brush my hair, wash it etc more often too so that hopefully I end up looking presentable once the weight is gone Smile. DS3 turned 1 last month, the "I just had a baby" line isnt really washing anymore.

mybabyweightiseightyearsold · 17/04/2012 10:56

Me too, me too!

Have finally reached rock bottom over my bottom.

Got a good 4 stones to lose - doing C25K()smaller in 4 months when I turn 40.

And press ups. I'd like to be able to do a press up by the time I am 40.

And, understand about carbs. Bit muddled about that.

When I have achieved these things I am going to get a tattoo on my ass. Much to the disgust of my husband, but I care not a jot. I want a big, colourful, really rather rude and funky picture on my bottom. Then, I'll like it!

Bakerbelle · 17/04/2012 11:12

Weighed myself this morning and I am 10st 3lb. Hope to be 9st 7lb at the end of the 7 weeks. DS1 ill and off nursery today so no big walks. Going to dig out shred while the baby naps though.
