The previous thread was getting a bit full so I thought I should start a new one while we could still link between them.

Back in. Not doing too well. Might join the 3 day challenge. Won't say too much more as don't want to add more empty promises to the rest that I've made over the past month!

I'll check tomorrow with a new starting weight and take it from there.

OhCobblers · 27/03/2012 21:25

Evening
I've been low-carbing for 8 days now and still only lost 5lbs?? Hmm
Also it feels like i have a very thin film on the back of my teeth - sometimes it has a metal taste. Would that be a symptom of Ketosis?

Thanks

BIWI · 27/03/2012 21:45

Only?! What do you expect?! That's a lot of weight in a very short space of time.

Sustainable, long-term weight loss is 1-2lbs per week.

BIWI · 27/03/2012 21:46

Vnmum - sorry, it wasn't me! Not sure which site that might be

OhCobblers · 27/03/2012 21:50

BIWI I know as i used to lose no more than 2lbs a week on previous diets, but i lost the 5lbs in the first 4 days so for the last 5 days have weighed the same - was hoping to see another lb or 2 slip off!!! Grin

Creamtea1 · 27/03/2012 22:03

Evening, anyone else tortured themselves watching hairy bikers bakeathon seeing them eat the most immense black forest gateaux...omg feel like a dog drooling!
Spinach was a success - just put 4 lumps in a saucepan with spoon of water, then added cut up black sticks blue cheese towards the end until it melted. Also had griddled courgettes with garlic and a tuna omelette - random but nice.

Creamtea1 · 27/03/2012 22:43

Also can anyone tell me where to get coconut flour?

SeriousWispaHabit · 28/03/2012 09:01

Hello, all. I have been on holiday and come back to a shiny new thread! Have caught up on what I've missed and got some good ideas for meals.

Stayed the same on holiday but have then managed to lose another 4 lbs in 5 days Confused

That's 21lb in 6 weeks! Grin

I have also discovered the Atkins coconut bar which is just like a bounty, but am only buying one at a time for damage limitation reasons.

PostBellumBugsy · 28/03/2012 09:23

At last another 1lb down. That brings the total lost since 2nd Jan to 1st 5lb lost & leaves me another 9lb to go.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 28/03/2012 09:26

10.6 this morning - which is great. Another 3lbs off and I have lost 2 stone since January. Total weight loss now is 25lbs.

PostBellumBugsy · 28/03/2012 09:36

Wow, fantastic GetOrf - you are doing so well.

teaandthorazine · 28/03/2012 10:03

Just weighed myself on the children's cente digital scales - am 3pm down from last week! Now 157lb which I think is just over 11stone. Only half a stone to go :)

PostBellumBugsy · 28/03/2012 10:09

OMG tea - did you really just put 11stone!!!! Seriously? That is incredible. Need awestruck emoticon. Smile

BIWI · 28/03/2012 10:10
Envy

Scales still doing their up and down thing here. Back up to 10.9 1/2 this morning.

[grim determination emoticon]

teaandthorazine · 28/03/2012 10:25

3pm?? Flippin iPhone! I meant, of course, 3 lovely POUNDS of fat!

teaandthorazine · 28/03/2012 10:28

Oh bless you PBB - I've not lost 11stone - is that what you thought I meant? Sorry, I should've been clearer - I am now 11 stone! ;)

But thanks anyway!

PostBellumBugsy · 28/03/2012 10:31

In that case it is just as well that you've not lost 11stone - as you would have disappeared!!!! Grin

Kellamity · 28/03/2012 10:31

Wow! Some very impressive weight losses here. Are you following a particular diet? Or just low carbing by yourself?

teaandthorazine · 28/03/2012 10:41

Kellamity - I'm following the idiot proof diet because I find it pretty straightforward really. Atkins is a bit too hardcore for me and Dukan just sounds a bit joyless. But I think everyone suits a different approach. I've not got masses to lose but I was definitely becoming addicted to carbs, feeling bloated and knackered all the time and wanted to break some bad habits. I love low carb, am a total convert!

PostBellumBugsy · 28/03/2012 10:47

Atkins for me. I have to stay under 30g of carb a day, otherwise I can't lose.

vnmum · 28/03/2012 11:18

morning all. my official weigh in today is a stay the same. TOM was due yesterday so I know it is imminent and I could be retaining water plus the weekend didn't help. It's just a bit frustrating coz i've stayed the same for the past 3 weeks, summer is approaching and I really wanted to be at goal for summer. Especially when it is TOM and I feel crap and wanting stodge it is a fight not to just say "sod it coz it's obviously not working". I am also wondering if I have been calculating my carbs wrong seen as the atkins book values are way off the collins book and the carblife site.

I would look at the IPD but i've bought the atkins book and recipe book and if I change now DH won't be too impressed.

BIWI I'm sure it was mentioned on one of the other low carb threads that I trawled through before joing you all. The site is the carblife one.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 28/03/2012 11:48

I requested to join carblife but they haven't emailed me to let me in.

Perhaps they think I am a bit dodgy.

kellamity I just follow an atkins-lite, in that I eat everything on the atkins induction list, but I don't restrict the veg as I don't want to go into ketosis. So I have far more than the 20g of carbs a day I should imagine, I usually get around the 50g of carb amount.

vnmum · 28/03/2012 11:54

getorf I applied 3 times in total. The first 2 times I just put in the info that was needed but not my personal info and I never got let in. This time I filled in my RL name etc and I got let in straight away.

Postbellum It was you who mentioned the photos on carblife. Can you remember the thread title or poster so I can have a gander? Smile

GetOrfMoiiLand · 28/03/2012 11:56

Thanks vn I will have another go then, I did make a name up and gave no info. Crikey it's not like this place, they let any old riff raff in. Grin

BIWI · 28/03/2012 11:59

Oh! That's the forum I use, only I didn't realise it was called that! Blush I've only been a member there for about 9 years as well....

I'm there in my real name. Currently have a thread running in Weekly Weigh-in. (Clue: P is my middle initial)
