Going to weigh in tomorrow, am horribly bloated today so don't want to skew my starting weight. Anyone want to join me? I've been having a rough ride ocer fhe last few months, i lost 3 stone last year, but am half a stone up from comfort eating and i.want ro stop faffing and get rid if the last stone (and a half if i can manage it). So it's going to be tough, like a boot camp from home. I always say i wish i could afford to go on one like the slebs!

My rules:
Exercise every day
Drink 2 litres water a day
Go to bed early, and no later than 10pm (staying up late worrying sets the next day off to a bad start, leads to nibbling etc)
No caffeine
No sugar
Low carb
Record food and progress on here daily
Accep this will be a dull, tough month, but get on with it anyway!
NO MOANING. NO CHEATING.

Right, gunna read up on Zoe Harcombe, might give it a go. Will post weight etc tomorrow.

AH feck - Sunday went off the rails - ate well in the day (skipped breakfast) but had large lunch of chorizo, parma ham, cheese, olives, sundried tomatoes and salad leaves - decent dinner of steak with wilted spinach - and then BOOOOOOOZE!! and pringles, and chocolate and more pringles. This morning weighed in at 12st 5 so an overnight gain of 3.5 pounds. Weekly loss of 2Ibs though. I started properly trying to lose weight 4 weeks ago today and in those 4 weeks I have lost, 5 pounds - PATHETIC!!.

Should have been good today but haven't. I've thrown my toys out the pram and have white bread rolls, cheese, pasta (with cheese) white bread sandwich with cheese. No booze tonight though.

Start again tomorrow - I have GOT to lose at least 3 pounds this week. The weather is beautiful and everyone is peeling off the layers and I am lolloping around looking over-heated and deranged in my heavy long-sleeved tunic with leggings and boots.

Can someone please give me a kick up the arse???!

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 27/03/2012 12:49

Hmm, grand total of ..... half a pound off. Not v impressive at all. Oh well - onwards and downwards.

Pompbear · 27/03/2012 13:46

Well i'm 1lb up but i still think i can do it (delusional?). Here's a MASSIVE kick up the arse Play, think how much better we'll look 3 week ish from now if we can stick to it. Even tho im up, im still down on my original weight by 3lbs, so doing ok overall i think. If i can lose 4lbs next week i'll be back on track. Have adjusted my meal plan a little:
b - Half a plum, diced, yoghurt, sprinkle of ground nuts and seeds
L - chicken, little bit of avocado, cucumber, 2 cherry tomatoes
D - grilled fish and roasted veg (courgette, aubergine)
Redbush tea by the bucket

I really need the fruit in the morning but am otherwise sugar and sugar substitue free, and caffeine free!

Spent the last few days digging the garden as well as shredding, can barely move (let alone walk) today.

Hope everyone is on track today

Hiya Pom I will join you, though I am quite late to the thread.
The rules in the OP r the ones I would like to follow.
I am going to add, no eating within 6 hrs of the last meal.
I weigh 164.4 lbs and bmi is 26.5.

At the end of the month I would like to be 145 lbs. is it possible?

shinecrazydiamond · 27/03/2012 14:43

Van - 19lbs off by the end of ...April? Highly, highly unlikely sorry to say. A distinct possibility of it if you were maybe 4 stone overweight but not at the weight you are. A good loss for you to aim for - and achievable with effort - would be 9lbs.

Pom - try cutting out the avocado and the nuts and seeds - yes, they are good for you but they are also very calorific. When I stopped my little nut guzzling habit, I dropped lbs...

Well done everyone! As for me, well, I have hit a plateau. Fucking annoying. I have stayed the same for a good few days now.

Breakfast - 150g cottage cheese and a bunch of black grapes

Lunch - stir fried portobellini mushrooms, red pepper, sugar snaps, cubes of feta cheese.

I can hardly be arsed to think about dinner as I am so BORED OF THIS

shinecrazydiamond · 27/03/2012 14:46

bored bored bored

but on the plus side i went clothes shopping today and bought 3 tops in size 12.

Vanfurgstan · 27/03/2012 15:12

U think shinecrazy? I knew I was being delusional, but I really want my old body back. Sigh. I have put away my old clothes as they no longer fit. :(

Pompbear · 28/03/2012 08:41

Shiney, keep going, you'll probably have a big loss soon. You sound a similar size to me, I'll still a chubby 12 but should be a comfortable 12 very soon.

I'm 2lbs down this morning so back to 11.6, so 9lbs to lose by 20th April... thats 'only' 3 lbs a week, surely i can do that, or get very close anyway.

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 28/03/2012 08:55

Vanfurgstan - slow and steady will win the race. You will get your old body back but it wont happen instantaneously. Think of 9llbs as your interim aim and your ultimate aim to be achieved in 3 months time max and you'll get there.

Shiney - as I get closer to target I find my weight plateaus then all of a sudden I have a loss so keep the faith.

The sun is out again which should hopefully be spurring us on to eating healthily, getting out and about in the sun and focusing on what we want to look like for the summer.

shinecrazydiamond · 28/03/2012 10:32

I have decided to have a day 'off' the dieting today. Just one day, to see if that jolts me into some action tomorrow. I have eaten a fair few carbs already this morning and feel as sick as a dog.

I will be back on it tomorrow.

Vanfurgstan · 28/03/2012 21:26

Thanks dinky for the words of encouragement. I haven't been hungry the past week and the weather has helped with exercise. I love going out. So I am hopeful this week will b a positive start

garlicbutter · 28/03/2012 22:01

Van - You must be about my height and build. I can lose 19lbs in 5 weeks (but never do it now, for health reasons.) It's tough but, if your target is a big event or something ... I last did it for my wedding.

First, accept that you will be hungry. You'll have to drink a lot of water to make yourself feel 'full'. Doesn't work, but it helps! The water will bump your weight up, so go by your body shape and size rather than your weight. I also used breathing exercises to control my temper; I'm a bastard when I'm hungry Blush

Next - exercise a lot. I did at least 2 hours a day: one full hour on weights and cross-trainers at the gym, plus an hour swimming or running. Do isometrics while you're watching telly (if you get enough time for that!) and while waiting for buses, etc. Exercise speeds up your metabolism - well, not exactly, but that'll do - such that you burn more energy while not exercising as well as what the calorie counter in the gym says.

Diet - standard low-calorie diet. Eat huge amounts of leafy veg, as they are mostly water and good for you. Cut as much sugar as possible out of your diet. Grill or bake your meat, without fats - but don't cut out fat entirely or you'll get metabolic imbalances with all that exercise. Have baked potatoes with some butter or cheese, that sort of thing. Make as much of your food 'whole' as possible, it uses more energy to digest and is better for you. You must have carbs before and after your workout. I ate a banana on the way to the gym and a yoghurt when I came out. Take a daily multi-vitamin & mineral supp.

You can't keep this up long-term, by the way, without damaging yourself. After your target date, you should gain some weight but, if you keep exercising (maybe 1 hour instead of 2) and stay off the sugar, you will be toned & slim for as long as you like :)

We all have a 'natural comfy' weight and a 'natural healthy low' weight. It varies from one person to the next, but I'm guessing yours are similar to mine. My wedding weight was 128lb; afterwards I stabilised at 139lb then, back to normal life, settled around 149lb with half an hour to an hour of deliberate exercise and normal healthy eating. The reason I've gained weight now is that I'm too unwell to exercise.

If you're quite unfit at present, swap the gym for a yoga or Pilates class and walk or swim instead of running. Dancing's brilliant exercise, so do it whenever you can!

garlicbutter · 28/03/2012 22:01

sorry, x-posted quite a bit

Pompbear · 29/03/2012 08:24

shinecrazydiamond · 29/03/2012 09:48

Pom - If I list what I ate yesterday I'd be embarrassed but here is a small taster..

6 mini egg easter cakes

2 slices of salted caramel cake

crisps

2 rolls with chocolate philadelphia

nuts

I will stop now Grin

I feel I needed a 'day off' and i don't regret it. 2lbs heavier on the scales this morning but i am full of cake I suppose!

Immediately back to it this morning - a carefully measured out bowl of Special K with a spoonful of fat free natural yogurt. The rest of the day will be quorn/salad/fruit based

Yesterday was my first day off since January 21st so I was long overdue it really. Onwards and upwards now...

How are we all?

Vanfurgstan · 29/03/2012 12:14

Garlicbutter v most certainly have the same shape me thinks. My wedding weight was 126 lbs.
I haven't seen my family for 2 yrs now and will b meeting them in a few mnths time so I wanted to look all pretty and svelte. The weight has added years. I look about 6 yrs older. Your tips r great. I have cut out the low fat stuff as I realised their sugar content was high.
I have switched to homemde or completely fresh stuff

garlicbutter · 29/03/2012 12:48

Heh, Van, sounds like we were wedding twins Wink

YY to the crapness of 'low-fat' foods, and thumbs up to homemade & fresh!
Good luck, and try not to bite anyone's head off Grin

shinecrazydiamond · 29/03/2012 22:00

Evening all!

Here is my day's eating

Breakfast - Special K with fat free natural yogurt

Lunch - Stir fried red pepper, mushrooms, mange tout, quorn pieces and goats cheese

Dinner - half a pot of cottage cheese, black grapes , Quorn slices [random! ]

So, back to it today after the stuffing of yesterday.

Hope we are all good

Vanfurgstan · 30/03/2012 17:46

shinecrazydiamond · 31/03/2012 11:26

Morning !

Where Is everyone

playnicely · 31/03/2012 12:10

Still here. Feeling guilty - major piggery going on. Trying to be good today but haven't dared weighed myself. Had 3 chicken fajitas last nite - enuf said.

Start of Easter holidays - could be a good thing or could be a very BAD thing!

Sounds like you are back on track though?

Pompbear · 02/04/2012 08:54

Had a crappy weekend, massive row with dh, so i sulked and ate (a heap if easter choc, pizza, ice cream, wine). Feel crap today and really annoyed with myself cos i was another 2lbs down on friday.

Hows everyone else? Think i might have more luck gaining a stone in a month at this bloody rate
