Going to weigh in tomorrow, am horribly bloated today so don't want to skew my starting weight. Anyone want to join me? I've been having a rough ride ocer fhe last few months, i lost 3 stone last year, but am half a stone up from comfort eating and i.want ro stop faffing and get rid if the last stone (and a half if i can manage it). So it's going to be tough, like a boot camp from home. I always say i wish i could afford to go on one like the slebs!

My rules:
Exercise every day
Drink 2 litres water a day
Go to bed early, and no later than 10pm (staying up late worrying sets the next day off to a bad start, leads to nibbling etc)
No caffeine
No sugar
Low carb
Record food and progress on here daily
Accep this will be a dull, tough month, but get on with it anyway!
NO MOANING. NO CHEATING.

Right, gunna read up on Zoe Harcombe, might give it a go. Will post weight etc tomorrow.

I find that the best way to lose weight quickly is not to eat dinner and cut out all alcohol and snacks. Eat a good breakfast and normal lunch. It isn't a good eating plan forever, but to lose excess pounds in a reasonably short space of time it works for me.

dinky I absolutely know the alcohol is a staller -it's what stopped me from getting to my target weight in the first place. Managed to be totally abstemious for a grand total of 6 weeks and then the odd glass of wine started creeping in again. I need to go teetotal at least till I get to my target weight (10 stone this time although would like to be 9 and a half)

Will try harder!!

thestringcheesemassacre · 21/03/2012 13:44

TSC it's awful, but Dukan is the one for fast weight loss.
Low carbs/no sugar/lots of meat.
You can lose 5-7lbs in 10days

walkbesideme · 21/03/2012 13:51

Ok - so have had pasta and pesto for lunch instead of smoked mackerel, but it was a really small portion. And I managed to get my 3 mile walk in this morning.

I'm off to the co-op to do a shop for the next few days. I try to limit the snacks I buy but my husband always stops off at the supermarket and comes home with bags of biscuits and chocolate. Grrr. So much harder to say 'no' when someone is munching it next to you.

Hope everyone's lunches have satisfied the hunger!

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 21/03/2012 14:21

Youch Aitch - that sounds super painful! Definitely get back to Bikram if you can - will probably help you feel better about life too (I generally find exercise does that for me...)

TSC - Zoe Harcombe or Dukan (done properly) will get you there but you will lose the will to live. If you're off on holiday, perhaps try and do some exercise too to tone - shred is a good all rounder or running is also something that you can do for free.

CalamityJones · 21/03/2012 14:56

I'm doing a slightly half-arsed version of low carb in an attempt to shift the baby weight from my 6 month old that seems purely to live on my belly. And I have a beach holiday coming up in May (nothing like vanity to motivate me!). So, can one of you experienced people help me out? I am not eating any potatoes, white rice or most breads and have started at the gym. Today I have had a bowl of Dorset Cereal muesli (apparently not too bad?) for breakfast, scrambled eggs with chilli in a wholewheat tortilla for lunch and supper tonight is grilled steak with a huge salad. No wine at least three nights per week. I drink my coffee with skimmed milk and no sugar.

I've been following this for a few days and it feels like a healthy option but is it too half-hearted on the carbs? Will the muesli be my downfall?!

Oh.. and I just had an apple sliced and topped with peanut butter.

40thisisit · 21/03/2012 17:16

hi have been watching this thread for a while - lots of you seem to like Zoe Harcombe's weight loss plan - do you know if you can still drink wine on this plan?

BIWI · 21/03/2012 17:32

Not in the first phase - and after that, only in moderation. (As with every diet, alcohol is something that will impede weight loss).

BIWI · 21/03/2012 17:32

... and Zoe Harcombe recommends red wine, if you have to have any.

playnicely · 21/03/2012 21:27

Today:
brunch: 3 scrambled eggs and cheese - decaf coffee and cream
Dinner: 2 chicken thighs in tomatoey/paprika sauce, celeriac mash and roasted kale - strawberries and double cream, sliver of aubergine and tomato crustless quiche (made for tomorrow)
Have had a slimline tonic and am now being offered a glass of red wine arrghhh!!! Am thinking if I wait till 10pm it will be a clear 3 hrs since my fat meal (kids herself majorly!)

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 21/03/2012 21:29

Right food today was skinny latte for breakfast, chicken and courgette soup (very green!) and small pasta salad portion plus a couple of strawberries at lunch, tiny half slice of coffee walnut cake for snack, chicken liver and apple salad (sounds gross but surprisingly yummy) plus slice of ciabatta for dinner and 2 ginger nuts. And 20 minutes of resistance free cycling.

walkbesideme · 22/03/2012 07:35

ok so I pretty much stuck to plan yesterday until about 9pm when husband offers me a chunky kit kat. Which I ate. Why do I do it??!! Grrrr!

Not so bad as I weighed myself and I'm 2 lbs lighter than on Tuesday morning - though I know this fluctuates and it may have been because I'd just emptied my bladder! Anyway it's all moving in the right direction.

Can I also add that I started my current weight loss plan at the beginning of lent but I have had many 'off' days and we were all ill with cold/man flu for at least 10 days where the only solace was lots of cake and cream eggs. My starting point at the beginning of lent was 11 st 2ish lbs.

so it was great to see this thread to give me another kick start.

Today plan is:
small breaky cereal
lunch - handful of pasta pesto
supper chicken korma curry - small portion.
No chunky kit kats.
Sadly no room for exercise today.

Have a grotty day ahead, so i'm hoping i dont cave in and eat cake. I had the worst headache yesterday, assuming caffeine withdrawal, never had it before when i've given up but i have been drinking A LOT lately. I was also a right grumpy cow. I slept really well though which has inspired me to keep going on the coffee and switch to decaff full time.
Anyway yesterdays dinner was yoghurt, chicken and courgette.

And today, i weigh 11.7 woohooo! So the hideously bland and dull food is doing the trick!

Drooling at thought of chunky kitkat!

Morning all,

Started the day with brown rice cereal and natural yogurt. Lunch is out with a friend and will be rocket, apple and goats cheese salad. I will try and have a mineral water with that...and dinner will be an omelette . Im going to try really hard not to snack today

walkbesideme · 22/03/2012 10:09

Good going everyone.
I've just deflected the 'I wanna biscuit' demands from DD by telling her naughty daddy has eaten them all. That has saved me from opening a packet. If there is an open packet in the house then I just graze, graze, graze all day.

We're going out in half an hour and then not back until lunchtime.

In fact I've found the busier I am during the day (ie not at home) the easier it is to diet (award for speaking the obvious goes to me!).

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 22/03/2012 11:05

Hopefully your caffeine cravings will pass soon Pompbear. Sounds like you are going to have a v virtuous day Shiney and well done on bypassing the biscuits Walkbesidesme (I tend to buy biscuits for DH and the boys I'm not particularly keen on to avoid the biscuit binge. The reason why I never buy choc hobnobs, my poor deprived boys)...

Breakfast today - skinny flat white (only 58 cals from Eat) and swiss bircher muesli from Eat (which is where the vast bulk of breakfast cals will come from). Lunch salad and turkey. Dinner turkey curry (need to use up last of turkey roast from the weekend). Snacks - some cinnamon no no flatbreads.

Pompbear · 22/03/2012 21:43

How's everyone done today? Thankfully my headache has gone and i feel quite good. The cereal and yoghurt are tough in the mornings, at first thats what appealed to me about zh, i usually do hardcore atkins to.lose weight so the idea of some kind of cereal with yoghurt sounded great but it's just so tasteless!

Anyway enough moaning, i'm not food tasting, i'm strict dieting, it not gunna be plesant. It seems to be working so im (relatively) happy, would be happier witj a glass of wine, ho hum.

walkbesideme · 23/03/2012 08:45

I'm the same weight that I was yesterday morning - not so bad considering the handful of choc mini eggs and approx 8 custard creams I ate yesterday.

So this morning I'm going for another 3 mile walk in the sunshine followed by a skinny latte at costa to fill in a passport.

Breaky - v small porridge with banana
Lunch - 2 slice of toast with pate
Supper - not sure yet but will probably be a chicken based something!

Hope today is good for everyone.

BIWI · 23/03/2012 08:51

Pompbear - you don't have to have cereal and yoghurt though, do you? Nothing to stop you reverting to an Atkins-type breakfast. A couple of boiled eggs would be perfect.

shinecrazydiamond · 23/03/2012 10:34

Morning all!

A lb down this morning! So that's over 2 stone now and light at the end of the tunnel!I bought a blazer this morning in a size 12 which cheered me up a bit. I am going out for a posh meal tonight... I am considering just a main course. Or maybe a starter and a main but no dessert. And no wine.

No breakfast yet

BIWI · 23/03/2012 10:42

Great, Shiney!

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 23/03/2012 10:43

and your assemblages, Shiney? seriously, do tell. (is it a lot of crudites? bumstitswillies)

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 23/03/2012 10:59

Shiney - you're doing great and congrats on the size 12 blazer!

Aitch - Shiney appears to eat lots of cubes of feta cheese with stuff as far as I can tell from her food entries on the last thread...
