Hi all popping in for a quick hello.

debka · 28/03/2012 07:35

cheese I'm planning on doing Race for Life too, wish I was in London, Richmond Park sounds tres glam! How far are you in c25k now? I've finished but I am still only running 4k, not sure how to pick up the pace.

dorothy stick with it, hopefully it'll settle down. My sister had awful side effects as well for the first few months but got used to it/they stopped before too long. Good luck...

girders thai prawn curry sounds practically like health food to me!

Agree with cheese, you gotta weigh in every week or it's a Slippery Slope.

B- bacon, egg, apple
L- leftover beef casserole and broccoli
D- wedges and homemade baked beans (I think!)

FriendofDorothy · 28/03/2012 07:42

It's not about only weighing in when things are going well but for me it is a fine balance of managing my head (my unhealthy obsession) about my weight and being honest.

I did weigh in today and I am half a pound on. I can live with that.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 28/03/2012 07:58

Week 2 debka. I think it will take me till July to finish the programme so hopefully it will be OK. Bit nervous about it, want people to run with

Realised I forgot to list my food:
B: 2 x alpen light bars at some point
L: tuna salad
D: some sort of stirfry.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 28/03/2012 07:59

Good luck at the dentist coffee, you'll be grand.

Ah dorothy, half a pound? You can lose that by having a poo Grin

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 28/03/2012 10:37

Just been to supermarket to buy loads more fruit and veg. It seems I am spending about £15 every 3days on the stuff at the moment! My boys get through about 10 portions of fruit and veg each a day at the moment though (Im predicting a growth spurt from the pair of them soon!)

Will pm you later cheese, my phone won't let me do it for some reason.

Today I will be having a spring clean. Looking to get rid of loads of the clutter ready for doing car boot sales over the next few weeks.

Made a really tasty breakfast! Over night I soaked 35g oats in 2 tbsp cold water and a vanilla muller light. Topped it with a chopped banana this morning and it was gorgeous and very filling!

So, todays food-
B yoghurty oaty mixture with a banana. HEB
L cheese and onion omelete and salad. Apple HEA
T jacket potato, salad, homemade coleslaw (2syns) and roast chicken. Blueberries and muller light

Snacks planned as milk for coffee (2syns) and 2 clementines

Feel like this diet has really clicked with me the last few days and starting to feel better from it

Hope everyone has a good day! :)

brafullofcrumbs · 28/03/2012 14:44

Can I join you? I hadn't realised there was a group on here. Been doing sw since 2\1\12 and have lost 1st 13lb. Thought I'd get my 2st cert y'day but was 1lb off :(

Rianoceros · 28/03/2012 14:57

I am using my WI weight from Monday as my new starting point, but as I don't post my weight there's no point me PM-ing you cheese, until next week when I will be celebrating a loss my jumping up and downSmile

it's a lovely sunny day today, and I feel a little better. Fingers crossed one of my "Issues" has been sorted and will be resolved on TuesdayHmm, DH is going to see the GP on Monday to discuss his pain management options, no tantrums from DS3 today, so now DH just needs a job and it should all be plain sailing... Am going to search through the freezer later and plan my meals for the week around the contents.

I would draw one of those lines but I don't know how to do it!

is there time to train for race for life from now?

good luck for the list guysSmile

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 28/03/2012 15:04

Hi rianoceros I'm doing race for life end of may and was exercising regularly until end of Jan.done nothing since but will restart my training tommorow with a jogging sesh. It can be done!

Wow bra that's an amazing weight loss! I only found my way here recently.I weigh in tommorow :)

brafullofcrumbs · 28/03/2012 16:57

Thanks morecoffee :) I am disappointed not to get to 2st lost though, this week was my smallest loss (only 1lb) so I think I was kind of just expecting more. I know I probably am my worst critic but I wanted 2st in 3 months. When I set my mind to something I just want it immediately!

Huffpot · 28/03/2012 18:28

Ahhhh cheese if I thought my dodgy feet would allow me to run and support my still hefty bulk then I would def be up for it with you. It would be such an achievement!

Welcome bra and wow for the weight loss.

Not looking forward to weighing tonight as although I don't think I've gained I don't think I've quite made that bloody next half stone. Its like my nemesis at the moment.

Shall try and PM you from group....if my awfullovely little boys fall asleep soon!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 28/03/2012 19:46

Hi bra what a great loss so far. You'll get your 2 stone next week, I'm sure.

Ah huffers come on, you know you wanna.

Horrible day at work. Was supposed to run tonight but I'm just home. Dh kindly tried to help by putting a wash on but put in my sports bra! Can't run in a wet one so having a cuppa instead.

kid · 28/03/2012 20:32

I've been lurking on and off but am feeling very poorly. I just feel sick all the time and its not nice.

I heard some horrible news today about a friends brother passing away. I am more upset for his family as its the second tragedy they are having to deal with. It just makes you stop and look at your own life, you need to appreciate and acknowledge what you have.

I also received some more sad news regarding a family member who has terminal cancer. The next few days or week is going to be heart breaking and I just don't know what to say or do. They have 24 hour care and their time is nearly up. They are heartbroken and don't want to die, what on earth do you say to someone in that position? Sad

The only positive thing I can see in the near future is breaking up from work on Friday for 2 weeks and its DS's birthday next week and I finally booked his party. I just hope it all goes to plan.

Don't mean to be all doom and gloom but I am trying to hold it together in RL. Work have no idea and I just hope I can get through to Friday without anything happening. Its actually DH's family, but we've been together for 20 years so more or less my family too in my eyes.

debka · 28/03/2012 20:54

Oh kid what a sad post, why does shit just keep on happening sometimes? :( I would say just be kind and be there for this relative, that's not much use really. Hugs to you xxx

Good luck those weighing in tonight!

Had a great run this evening, first ever in the light, very exciting! About to book Race for Life too, am really looking forward to it.

cheese I never thought I'd be able to run 30 minutes but I do it 3x a week now. It took me 12 weeks rather than the 9, I had a dodgy hip in the middle so had to keep repeating runs. Best of luck!!

I'm watching Big Body Squad atm, flipping heck it's an incentive to lose weight, these poor poor enormous people who are utterly disabled by their weight. The people who work with them are invariably kind though.

Hope bee is ok, if you're lurking, I'm thinking of you :)

Huffpot · 28/03/2012 21:22

Cheese I would love to do it with it....I've done a few sprints and think I would really enjoy it but I can't run properly(if that makes sense) as am so terrified of hurting my feet and incapacitating myself which would be a nightmare as have no close family support on this side of the world :-(

kid what a horrible time you're having....it never rains but pours hugs x

Rianoceros · 28/03/2012 21:47

kid. I have no words of advice, but please feel free to "talk" here whenever you need a

I borrowed DS1s bike tonight! AND cycled to my mums (if you all knew how near she lives you would not be impressed). I think I am going to buy a ladies bike and give it a go. I WILL NOT BE BEATEN!!!!

good luck for that goal next week braSmile

Cheeseandbiscuits · 28/03/2012 22:05

Cheeseandbiscuits · 29/03/2012 07:55

Good moaning.

Just on way to work. Quick post on tube
B: weetabix (heb)
L. Stirfry
D: sausages pots and veg

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 29/03/2012 08:38

Well done csws 3.5lb is fab!

Off to work so this is food plan.

B - Porridge with strawberries HA and HB
L - Maybe soup
D - BBQ chicken breast and corn on cob and salad for me with reduced fat coleslaw, 2 syns for bbq marinade approx and 2 syns for coleslaw (reduced fat and not 100g so guestimating 2 syns)

Will avoid the sausages and burgers etc as i would only enjoy them in the accomanying bun but off all bread for lent and still going strong (only a week and a bit left to go!)

LumpyLatimer · 29/03/2012 09:16

Well done on the list everyone!

I am slowly pulling myself together and aim to be fully in on the next DoD...although technically I can't go on the list as it'll be the first weigh in aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages Blush Grin

Ria hurrah for the bike - do get yourself one! I love cycling but living where I do, cycling to work takes bigger balls than I'll ever have.

Kid I am so sorry you are having such a rough time Sad

Bee dear, if you're reading, hope you're doing OK.

Pleased to report that I think I am trimming up somewhat, between swimming and walking and refraining from filling my face with cake and cheese. we shall know the Cold Hard Facts next week

Food for me today (I'm cal counting)

B - bircher muesli, mint tea
L - we are going to the cinema, so to prevent me from eating half a kilo of pick 'n' mix we're sneaking in a packed lunch - homemade rolls and a little cheese.
D - chicken and butternut squash curry with flatbread, and yogurt for after.

Exercise - DP snored all night, so I overslept and was too late for swimming But we'll be walking to and from the flicks, so that's about a 50 minute walk in total. Better than a poke in the eye!

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 29/03/2012 09:35

Morning all. Just home from doing the school run- about 2.5mile walk there and back so a good start to the day :)

Today will be spent spring cleaning and maybe an hour in the gym later then weigh in at group tonight! Eek! I want at least half a pound off tonight to make my half stone.

Todays food-
B oats soaked overnight in mullerlite (heb) and banana.
L creamy chicken Apple and celery salad (recipe from this thread) 2 clementines
T not sure yet, but probably baked potato, salmon fillet and salad.

HEA today used for milk for coffee.
Snacks will be grapes and fat free yoghurt if I really need them.

debka · 29/03/2012 09:46

Good Moaning to you all too!

Lovely sunn day today here, got no children [hurrah!], trying to persuade DH to go for a walk, it has been modified to a drive Hmm. He is allergic to exercise. May not be a bad thing, I ran a bit too vigorously last night on a new route up a tiny massive hill and my legs are still aching this morning Blush.

Yes csws you are the dogs bazongas at this sw business, I am in awe.

morecoffee get you on 2.5 mile walk Grin

B- bacon, egg, apple
L- leftover wedges and beans from last night, some token veg, a pear
D- sweet potatoes, pork and salsa

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 29/03/2012 15:05

morecoffee i also have a 2 mile round trip to the school, i think its what stopped me getting bigger than i was before sw as i was stuffing my fat face.

Debka im in awe of your hill running of any degree of incline as my legs see the hill and say noooooooooo and i almost grind to a halt to i tend to plan my route around them!

kid i hope things improve at home soon.

I have had a little sping in my step since i got in from work as i have put on a pair of jeans i have not wore since last summer and they are falling off (streachy size 16 DP) and a top i bought 2 summers ago but never wore as my stomach was too lumpy as top was so tight, its a little boost to help keep me on track.

brafullofcrumbs · 29/03/2012 20:04

Kid unmn-y hugs
Well done csws 3.5 stone is fantastic. I am maybe a bit sad but i love getting certificates and entering my weight online and getting my virtual sticker too I have planned out a timescale for getting to my target. If i lose 2.5 lbs per week i can do it before my holiday in June. Optimistic but not impossible [potentially deluded]

brafullofcrumbs · 29/03/2012 20:06

Misfg I have been doing the same, clothes from 2009 fit me again (summer 2010 I was pg and summer 2011 I was fat) It's a great feeling :)
Morecoffee I'm seriously impressed with your fitness regime!
