Hi, this is a club for people who have 3 stones to lose (or thereabouts Wink), and is a hybrid of weight loss, style & beauty, and getting-one's-life-sorted-ness.

The idea began on a style and beauty thread but we have set up camp here. Feel free to join!

Oh, this sounds good. I've lost 3 stone, got 2ish to lose but more importantly, want to get fit and look good in clothes again.

Sanuk · 22/02/2012 22:17

Hi Jenny Smile

We should be joined from several others from blobtobetter's style & beauty thread

Well done on losing 3 stone! What have you done to reward yourself?

This thread should be about being kind to ourselves and making ourselves feel better, I think. So I'm all in favour of rewarding weight loss with nice cake clothes

sanuk shhhhh...don't mention the c word so soon!!! Hi Jenny, welcome to the glamour zone Grin. Well done on the weight loss so far - that is a great achievement!!

I have nearly completed day 4 of my new diet...and I am already starting to cope with the hunger&cravings so I think that is quite good...

I have 3 stone and 2 dress sizes to lose....

JennyPiccolo · 22/02/2012 22:25

I havent done a lot, cos i'm very skint but i've managed to get back in some old clothes which is pretty nice.

We're going to Rome in a few weeks so i've bought a few cheap new things to take with me, in my new dress size! Exciting.

JennyPiccolo · 22/02/2012 22:28

what diets are people doing? I've been doing weight watchers but i'm getting a bit bored of it. Been dabbling with the idea of Paul McKenna but i'm scared to let go and eat what i want (i.e. cake)

Sanuk · 22/02/2012 22:31

Jenny that sounds great

I'd like to lose - gasp - 6 stone ideally. I started nearly 2 weeks ago and am doing WW online. I lost 5lbs in my first week and weigh in again on Saturday.

I do want to start looking after myself a bit better all round. I'm starting with my shockingly neglected highlights. Am v broke at the moment so can't afford swish Soho hairdresser as per usual, so today went to Boots and bought some John Frieda colour to do it myself. Which I will try out shortly. Wish me luck.

Sanuk · 22/02/2012 22:32

I mean going to Rome and buying things for it sounds great

Am heartened to hear you lost on WW. How long did it take you to lose 3 stone?

OP posts:
JennyPiccolo · 22/02/2012 22:38

I started in July last year, but sort of went off tracking etc between november and the beginning of january, for no apparent reason. So i lost just under three stone, then put on half a stone in the time i wasnt dieting, then lost it plus a few more pounds since the beginning of january. Dunno if any of that made sense, but it's been roughly 7lbs a month.

Racheybabez · 22/02/2012 22:38

coming to join need to lose 2 stone

are you gonna do weekly weight ins ect?

Sanuk · 22/02/2012 23:08

Yes, def up for weekly weigh-ins

We could do a thread total of weight lost for the week maybe?

Also, I think we should have a 'thing' each to work on/try out/do in the week that's not weight related but about better grooming or looking after ourselves physically or emotionally a bit better. I could start with trying to go to bed before midnight Hmm

I have 4 to 5 stones to lose and am currently doing the Celebrity Slim diet. Low carb seems to suit me!

I started 3 weeks ago and have lost 7 pounds so a long way to go yet.

Once my back is better I am aiming to start doing exercise DVDs at home to tone up. Plus I want to work on the beauty / grooming side too!

Weekly weigh ins sound good!

mrsmartin · 23/02/2012 13:28

Well I'm on day 5 of the 'put it off' diet (I made that upBlush).

So this week I have mostly eaten a massive bowl of fruit eaten as late as I can stand - I'm finding if I put off starting eating in the day I don't feel hungry until I've started eating iykwim. Not overly responsible but I plan on bringing it forward in the day as my stomach shrinks. Typically I'm eating around 2-3 oclock.

Half a can of soup or a small sandwich for lunch

Something spicy for dinner - eg last night was bombay potato with a garlic flatbread.

I feel I'm definately starting to drop the weight but I am resisting the scales...definately up for weigh ins.

sanuk - I'm with you - definately need to sleep more Grin

Racheybabez · 23/02/2012 19:21

after reading mrsmartin other threads my 'thing' is going to be bodybrushing

mrsmartin · 23/02/2012 19:52

rachey - it is a total pita but worth it - it def makes a difference....

omydarlin · 23/02/2012 20:45

I'm in - I weigh myself on a Sunday morning in my nightdress Grin am on my fitness pal, doing some hypno podcast thinging and couch 2 5k want to lose 3.5 stone. Have a wedding in Santorini to go to 2013 but want to get all the clothes in this summer sales - also want want want an Anglomania dress that is my target to be able to go and try one on even if I don't buy it.

Have just started a cleansing routine as i'm v lazy with some cheap simple paraben blah blah free stuff from boots - it is working well. Also trialing the poundland version of bio oil will let you know how i get on. I love this topic and style and beauty topic the mostest on mumsnet - by far the friendliest !

mrsmartin · 23/02/2012 21:06

Ah well hello omydarlin - pleased to meet you Grin

Racheybabez · 23/02/2012 21:09

omydarlin · 23/02/2012 21:52

I'm hoping it will help my bumpy backs of thighs! May see what else I can get for the free gift.

Racheybabez · 23/02/2012 21:59

mrsmartin · 23/02/2012 22:49

yes that is the brush I have...it is a bit of a bitch but it works - brush towards the heart btw...

don't know where the other have got to but sunday weigh in's it is then!! Grin

blobtobetter · 24/02/2012 06:31

Do you use the body brush dry or in the shower?

Racheybabez · 24/02/2012 09:20

dry i think after shower or in my case bath

mrsmartin · 24/02/2012 12:11

I use dry before I go to bed but dry before shower is best I think...I also use the exfoliating gloves in the shower so its like my body gets a 'rub down' twice a day Grin
