Hi, this is a club for people who have 3 stones to lose (or thereabouts Wink), and is a hybrid of weight loss, style & beauty, and getting-one's-life-sorted-ness.

The idea began on a style and beauty thread but we have set up camp here. Feel free to join!

mrsm Actually you flew completely under my radar there so no dark cupboard needed. I mentioned it because I'm on a Weight Watchers thread as well as this one, and on both that and this people came on with Blush faces to admit that they are much heavier than someone who described themselves as being a really heavy weight for their height. And I hate to see people feeling embarrassed.

OOhh good luck mrsm with it all!

Sorry to be AWOL but had the most awful earache - weight is not moving either feel a bit depressed but I am always like this the last two weeks of my month.

Just wondering if we should measure our waists or arms or something aswell for the weeks when we don't lose but lose inches??

Also wantto know if anyone has had shellac nails - how long do they last? How much time does it take? How much do you pay? Thanks v much x

Rainydayagain · 29/02/2012 19:35

Hi can i join you please?
I have a dress size to drop in 16 weeks, in order to fit into a pre child dress for a wedding!
The dress is a good inch or two from fitting :-(
Im doing the callanetics fitness program, it worked years ago. So hopeful.
Also commiting to drinking less, drinking more water eating a cleaner diet.
I do an hours walk carrying toddler today plus 20 mins of callanetics.

I have a body brush so will try that.

Hi everyone, going ok here. I have cut down on my portion sizes and also cut out some carbs. Still using all my calories from mfp, including my breast feeding ones and exercise ones though. Its hard to know whats best isn't it- some people say if you don't use them all your body goes into starvation mode so you don't lose weight??? But then I think logically if I am eating less than surely i should lose weight?? Maybe I am just reading too much...
Anyway, my major downfall is sweet things and I am managing to restrict that but still have a treat at the end of the day, so so far it's going ok. How is everyone else doing? Anyone doing mfp too?

mrsmartin · 02/03/2012 20:04

I log my cals onto mfp - more out of interest than anything else. I figure the same thing about starvation mode - weightloss is all about creating a calorie deficit from your previous habits (either through eating less, exercise or a combo of the two). Will just see how it goes...I'm only in week 2.

Big wave to rainyday - welcome to the fold Grin. It sounds like you have set a realistic goal - I bought some totally barginous jeans from tesco today (£2!!!!!!Shock) and I can get them on but they are a tad too tight...I'm hoping they will be a perfect fit in a couple of weeks...

JennyPiccolo · 02/03/2012 20:15

Had a terrible week for food, but have managed to keep up the exercise so should be ok. Anyone else doing couch 25k? Just finished week 4 and now feel like I'm going to die.

anniewoo · 03/03/2012 10:47

Oh bugger. Was at a bake sale for charity yesterday and broke out!!!

mrsmartin · 03/03/2012 12:34

for some reason dh thought I deserved a dominos last night and I agreed...I didn't eat anything else yesterday but still...it was v.naughty.

mrsmartin · 03/03/2012 12:36

I am moving to ramsbottom this week though so should get fit from all of the hill walking...it is very hilly!!!!!!!!!

Racheybabez · 03/03/2012 21:45

i weight myself thursday and still no weight loss so have cut to 1000 calories a day instead of 1200 and trying water rentention tablets so hoping to see results soon fingers crossed
going to book doctors appointment if no change by tuesday

charlie7 · 03/03/2012 21:54

Weighed this morning and lost 3lbs which I am pleased with as I lost almost nothing last week. However, spent all day baking birthday cakes for my dd and have been doing lots of tasting Blush
Back to normal tomorrow hopefully!
And yes Mrsmartin- I know Ramsbottom well, very good for hill walking! I live in Cumbria, so I too can't set foot outside the door without a hill being involved!

mrsmartin · 03/03/2012 22:29

Exactly!! Think it will really help me shed the pounds. Plus I'll be in a house - currently live in a first floor flat and feel very concious of the noise I make jumping up and down to fitness videos!!!!Grin
Cake sounds yummy - I always enjoy licking the bowl (and the whisk!Shock) more than I enjoy the cake itself!

ahh rachey - I hope you see some results this week...if not hopefully the doctor will be able to suggest something though. Don't think they would prescribe Ally as i think you need to be bigger than you are but maybe they will check your bloods etc and make sure it isn't an underlying medical problem etc.

mrsmartin · 04/03/2012 10:43

Well - Sunday morning weigh in done and I have lost 2lbs so I'm happy (esp as I spent half the week at MIL's and had a dominos!). The strange thing is that I havent actually lost any size...My thighs, tummy and boobs are still the same size when I stick the tape measure round them Hmm. My tummy is noticibly more wobbly (it was rather firm before) but other than that there doesn't seem to be much change??? It is very odd but at least I'm headed in the right direction.

Good luck with today's weigh ins Grin

wildstrawberryplace · 04/03/2012 11:24

Lost 2lb this week, probably more because I have been feeling off my food and not eating in front of the TV in the evenings than because of any concerted effort of exercise/food intake reduction, due to illness.

Feeling better today, will see how I get on this week Smile

Have discovered that my fave protein breakfast is a 227g tub of cottage cheese with some pineapple chunks mixed in (not ready mixed, that stuff is rank - either fresh or tinned in juice so it is also a portion of 5 a day). And not low fat cottage either, it's a naturally low fat food, as is normal blue top milk. I don't believe in skimmed foods personally, they leave me feeling totally hungry and lead to further eating of more calorific stuff.

Will start shredding again tomorrow.

anniewoo · 04/03/2012 12:48

Up 2 lbs!! Always happens when i watch my weight

mrsmartin · 04/03/2012 12:52

Ahh annie - don't forget about time-of-the-month fluctuations...maybe that's why? I'm sure you will lose it again next week Smile

yay strawberry - sorry you haven't been feeling well though...Thanks

veryjellybelly · 04/03/2012 21:45

5lb loss to report here (first week so won't expect a repeat next week)!!! But as I have so much to lose it's only a drop in a large ocean.

Still, definitely going in the right direction....

Anniewoo - don't panic, you'll probably have a "double drop" next week! Smile

omydarlin · 04/03/2012 23:06

Well done all just popping on quickly to say 1.5 loss this week will catch up later !

blobtobetter · 07/03/2012 18:55

Struggling at the moment! I just seem to want to eat sweets and am craving crisps and all things bad for me!!

Wish you could buy willpower pills!

anniewoo · 11/03/2012 12:29

Am struggling too. Haven't eaten crappy stuff- sweets chocolate biscuits for 3 weeks - really difficult and yet my weight remains the same. I am 2 stone ovetweight. An reakky trying and no shifting. This has happened before. Dukan seems to be the only way to go but is not a healthy way of eating imo. Would love those willpower tablets. Hope Mrs M is ok. Not seen her posting lately. Do any of those diet supplements / appetite suppressants i see in Boots work? Tablets with cider vinegar and something called cla i think made by pharma nord. Anyone tried them?

anniewoo · 17/03/2012 19:58
