Hi, this is a club for people who have 3 stones to lose (or thereabouts Wink), and is a hybrid of weight loss, style & beauty, and getting-one's-life-sorted-ness.

The idea began on a style and beauty thread but we have set up camp here. Feel free to join!

Sorry mrsmartin If it's any help I left some of mine as I was a bit worried - couldn't identify what part of the chicken it can from then realised it may be a baby chicken breast Sad. The chips were minging didn't eat those either.

Just to let you all know I've posted something on style and beauty about stretchmark oil i've been using (Rescue Oil from land of the pound etc stores) . As we are all going to be losing pounds Grin thought it may be of interest!

charlie7 · 26/02/2012 13:20

Weighing in at 208lbs (way heavier than I've ever been Sad so I want to get down to 154lbs if poss. Trying to run three times a week, plus walking a lot. I want to start the Shred again but not sure if I can as I had a c section with this most recent birth-doctor said I was fine to run but not sure about other kinds of exercise.
Well done mrsmartin on the fab weightloss!!

mrsmartin · 26/02/2012 14:27

Thanks charlie - think it must be mostly water...my belly is now wobbly instead of solid! Def ask the doctor first...this is all about feeling great in all parts of life and tears are not part of that!!!

ohmy - totally agree about kfc chips - I don't know why they bother!!! yuck! I use rescue oil too...unfortunately it does nothing for my stretch marks (DH has promised to pay for regular spray tans to disguise them when summer comes though so not all bad).

HelgatheHairy · 26/02/2012 19:17

Hi all, can I please join???

I stalked followed you here from the groomed thread.

I'm currently 163 pounds and only 5'3 so look quite wobbly. I've always been overweight and as a result ALL my clothes are from cheap shops as "there's no point spending money on clothes as I'll lose weight" only I never do. So there is quite a lot of work to be done on the stylish side of things.

I'm 33, and no children yet, we are TTC though and I want to lose the weight so I have the best chance. I'm currently unemployed after being made redundant at the end of December and I'm finding it quite difficult to be motivated to do anything so dread like the idea of being accountable.

blobtobetter · 26/02/2012 20:21

Helga I am shorter and heavier than you! Blush

I remember one celebrity interview (Melinda Messenger grrrrr) where she said something like "oh I'm only 5'2 so I felt HUGE at 8 stones" - gave me a complex and now I always feel like the biggest fattest person where ever I am.

I want to be a slim person and to be able to wear what I want and to look in the mirror without wanting to cry. Can't do much about the face but the fat must go!

mrsmartin · 26/02/2012 20:34

Hi helga - welcome to the clan Grin
You aren't far off my current weight...don't worry...we will all motivate eachother Wink. Just look at the time you have now to really kick start the diet/exercise plan - redundancy could be the best thing to happen to your body Grin

HelgatheHairy · 26/02/2012 21:37

Thanks for the welcome!

When I was off work first I had great plans on how I'd have time to do loads of exercise and beauty treatments - as time goes on I'm getting more and more lazy.

I'm going for a facial with a free brow shape and mini manicure tomorrow to kick things off.

veryjellybelly · 26/02/2012 22:34

Hi ladies,

Can I join you please? I have at least 3 stone to lose....ideally by October when I'm due to go away just with DH (no kids!) for a week. Would love to be beach confident by then, not cowering under a large kaftan!

So I've eaten the last of the chocolate in the cupboard tonight, and intend to start tomorrow. The plan is to follow the "Clean and lean" diet, and do the 30 day shred to home.

I will do it! Smile

mrsmartin · 26/02/2012 22:49

Yay...loving the new recruits Grin Hi jelly we all have roughly the same goal and if you lose 2lbs a week you should be (fingers crossed) 3stone lighter by the beginning of July so plenty of time to get beach ready-woohoo.

Is everyone following an actual diet plan? I'm just eating loads of fruit and small fist sized portions of relatively normal food. That said I made a massive roast beef dinner today (have eaten that, a small portion of spicy rice and a yoghurt today so still 1200 calories)...it was yummy!

mrsmartin · 26/02/2012 22:52

Helga...download the shred (very easy to get it for free in under half an hour Wink) and do it first thing (just the first level...use cans of soup if you don't have weights) and then you can have a shower and go and get beautified (lucky you).

veryjellybelly · 26/02/2012 22:55

Hi mrsmartin

It's really encouraging to think of it that way......I'm picturing that beach already!

Mmm your beef dinner sounds lovely......that would be fine on the Clean and Lean plan, except for the potatoes (and possibly gravy but I'll cut myself some slack there!)

Racheybabez · 27/02/2012 09:18

blobtobetter i am only 5'1 and 11 stone so i no how you feel i think i have body dismorfia to cos i feel bigger than i am (or so people tell me lol)

Racheybabez · 27/02/2012 13:43

got my body brush today woohoo gonna start tonight

Sanuk · 27/02/2012 14:47

Hello all

Welcome to new bods Smile

Can I make a polite request? That we refrain from making statements on here like 'I feel really heavy because I'm only X height so that weight is huge on me'?

Someone else has already mentioned that it makes them feel bad, and it does make me feel a bit bad too, because you can't help but think 'But I'm a shortarse too BUT must heavier than you, so if you think you are massive, you'd consider me an absolute MOOSE."

This should all be about making each other feel good and supporting each other, and at the same time, no one should justify why they want to lose weight. Sizing is an individual thing: we will all carry our weight differently. I naturally have quite a lot of muscle with broad shoulders and big boobs, and it would be extremely difficult for me to get my top half down to a size 10, whereas much easier for someone else with a smaller frame. Conversely, I have comparatively skinny hips and legs, whereas someone else will not, even if they're the same height as me.

OP posts:
Sanuk · 27/02/2012 14:49

I am snorting at having written 'skinny' about myself: I can assure you that there is nothing remotely skinny about me at the moment. What I meant is that my bottom half is at least a size smaller than my top half, and my legs tone up very quickly.

OP posts:
charlie7 · 27/02/2012 14:53

Yes I agree- it's amazing how different people of the same height can carry weight in completely different ways.
I guess the important thing is to feel good about your own weight and shape. Which hopefully we will do at some point!!

HelgatheHairy · 27/02/2012 15:07

Mrsmartin: I have the shred DVD, still wrapped in cellophane, sitting in the bottom of my wardrobe because even the thought of it scares me! Tomorrow though will be the day I try it (as DH isn't around to laugh at me!)

Facial was lovely, brows and upper lip are back under control and I have a very spring like pale green/turquoise on my nails.

Diet wise - breakfast wasn't a success, it was 2 slices of toast but lunch was a lovely Greek salad. Not sure what's for dinner DH always cooks that. I'm trying to stick to low gi as that's worked for me before.

Racheybabez · 27/02/2012 15:37

goes to corner to hang head in shame Grin

wildstrawberryplace · 27/02/2012 16:49

Bit late in coming over from the thread in S&B.

Just marking my place - far too ill at the moment to contemplate anything like exercise at the moment.

Will post some info/results when I'm back on my feet in a few days.

Sanuk · 27/02/2012 19:21

Rachey - you can come out of the corner now Wink

Hi wildstrawberry, hope you get better soon

The Shred is fantastic, really does produce results, but you have to be careful with your technique and it is very hard on the knees - really didn't do my poor knee much good. I'm having my knee op in a few months and I hope that at some point in the next year I'll be able to shred again, as it certainly works.

anniewoo · 27/02/2012 23:40

Still don't know how to get here! Had to go via the 'i'm on ' section in mumsnet. And that only lasts for a few days where do i look for the 'big fat slim whatever section' ?

Racheybabez · 28/02/2012 11:03

i thought i was never getting out of the corner thanks sanuk Grin

Racheybabez · 28/02/2012 11:05

anniewoo its in the "in the club" section hth

veryjellybelly · 28/02/2012 22:42

Hello ladies,

Just reporting in briefly! A pretty good day all round (it's only my second but still.....). I steered clear of the evil birthday cakes at work, and even managed to enjoy my homemade chilli without rice. The whole low carb thing takes some getting used to but at least I am still able to eat the tasty part and not the boring "filler".

How's everyone else getting on?

Wink
mrsmartin · 28/02/2012 23:19

yikes...if rachey was in the corner then I must have been put in a box in a dark cupboard hehe Grin.

annie - just come on to the thread and then bookmark it as a favourite...that way you don't have to find us...just search down your list of faves and click.

My diet is ok atm...have even managed to have the odd jaffa cake Wink. However, we are in the process of moving and have 2 weeks (from yesterday) to find a house in the North West and move into it as DH starts his job on the 12th of March. This means spending three days at MIL and FIL's from tomorrow. They tend to feed me up on pizza and DH on fried breakfasts!!! MIL has been warned I am going to be doing my own meals but she won't be happy - she is a total feeder!!!!! Shock
