Who is up for a stone off in a month?

MeremetaLoucoDiamant · 13/02/2012 22:49

Or maybe as close to that as we can get?

I am size 14, would love to drop a dress size for a specific date next month and I am possibly 20lbs ish overweight, so a stone would be a great starting point.

I am vegetarian but attempting to low carb.

So.... who's in?

Hi ladies, can I join you?! I have my friends wedding in April and bridesmaid dress fitting end of march so have to diet big time!! Had my dd end of September and lost around a st in the weeks following but it's crept back on and now it's time for drastic changes!!

Hope you have space for another Grin

shinecrazydiamond · 26/02/2012 15:53

hey fuzzzy - welcome! Is it just a stone you want to lose? What plan are you following?

FuzzzyDuck · 26/02/2012 15:56

Really whatever I can manage!!! A stone would be great though. Not really following a plan as such, just hoping to eat well, drink plenty water and eat no junk! I done scottish slimmers for a while a few years back do usually when I'm dieting, I aim for 1500 kcal a day (I think, of I remember right). What plan are you ladies following? Smile

shinecrazydiamond · 26/02/2012 16:05

I'm following my own plan really... 3 meals a day, no snacks [ although a piece of fruit if desperate ] and cutting out of pasta/bread/noodles/potatoes. I have lost 16lbs since January 21st and would love to lose another 10lbs by March 17th so the pressure is on!

I calories count too and am vegetarian. I am currently limiting calories to 1000 - I know this is low but it's do able with the right food choices. 1500 sounds about right though!

FuzzzyDuck · 26/02/2012 16:31

That's great, well done!! Grin

I don't eat any red meat and very limited chicken so try to get my protein from quorn. How are you finding the limited kcals? Maybe I should try that for first week to give me a bit of a boost! I'll have a read back through the thread proper tonight, always need some inspiration for meals!

shinecrazydiamond · 26/02/2012 17:14

Well, I find it hard sometimes I have to be honest - but it is great for a quick fix boost - and I am convinced it's healthier that lighterlife or whatever!

Sample day for me...

Breakfast - fat free yogurt with fruit salad OR fruit with feta cheese OR veggie sausages and mushrooms

Lunch - Salad with roasted veg OR mushroom soup OR stir fried veg with marinated tofu or quorn

Tea - whatever option I didn't have for lunch... Averages out at about 8/900 a day

FuzzzyDuck · 27/02/2012 08:43

Morning!! Just weighed in for my 'starting point' I'm 14.13 Angry. So angry that a few weeks after having dd, I was down to 14.1 and in space of 4 months it's all went back on. So this is it! No more excuses. I was around 14.3 when I was first fitted for dress so I need to be back to that, if not even lighter. It starts now!! Need to have a good look through cupboards and meal plan. Will head to shops later as I need a few bits for dd anyway so I can stock up. It's a daunting thought but I know I can do it Smile

Will check back later. Have good day Grin

peanutbutterjellytime · 27/02/2012 09:15

You can do it Fuzzy and you'll be in that dress before you know it.

3lb down this week but it feels so slow! I'm use to the quick weight loss with total low carbing and am slightly tempted to try it again but not sure that I want the tiredness...

Shineon, you've done/are doing fantastically well, I admire your willpower and at this rate you'll hit your target.

Right, off to eat bacon and eggs!

dustwhatdust · 27/02/2012 09:55

almost back to square one - reverted to carb fest weekend as usual and have ended up with most of it back on again !

I must break this cycle !!

Does any body else do this ?

LackaDAISYcal · 27/02/2012 10:07

Morning all.
I've weighed in at just under 13st this morning. Only 1/2 lb under, but the psychological boost from seeing the No 12 is not to be sneeze at.
But, another rubbish night with DD means I am utterly knackered and I can feel my lupus beginning to flare, so my resolve is going to be tested to the limit today....give me strength!
40g of gluten free cereal with semi-skim milk this morning.
Have no idea what I'm having later, possibly mushroom omelette.

FuzzzyDuck · 27/02/2012 10:25

Great to see so many people on here. Good encouragement Smile my meal plan so far;

Breakfast - small fruit scone, spread of butter

Lunch - whole meal wrap with tuna, laughing cow cheese, sweetcorn, lettuce and cucumber

Snack - quavers

Dinner - medium baked potato with homemade turkey chilli, spoon of sour cream and sprinkle of cheese

My fitness pal set my allowence at 1370 kcal and that's all added up to 1273 so will see how I get on!! (loving the app. I d/l it a while back but the barcode scanner is great!!)

londonlottie · 27/02/2012 10:29

Damn, only just seen this - am I too late to join in?? Am desperate to lose a stone (and then another - ahem)...

ferfuxake · 27/02/2012 10:35

Hi all. Yes dust I am exactly the same. Having lost 5.5 pounds last week I spent most of the weekend eating and drinking. I haven't even dared to get on the scales since Friday but I know from the way I feel that most of it has gone back on. It is so frustrating but this time I am determined not to throw the towel in. So I'll try to eat well today and then assess the damage tomorrow.

shinecrazydiamond · 27/02/2012 10:53

fuzzy - no, no to your meal plan Shock Grin Too many carbs! Breakfast, snack, lunch, tea - all carb based... I'd swap the Quavers for maybe a small handful of nuts or a yogurt and some fruit. The breakfast I'd swap for porridge or an omelette [ although I LOVE scones ]... and the potato- try sweet potato wedges instead. Just a thought anyway!

No weight off for me- unless half a fucking pound counts? I have stayed the same now for about 5 days or so. I cannot reduce calories any further so I am going to hang in there and hope for a shift in the next day or so..

Breakfast - half a pack of quorn fillets, red pepper strips, grilled pepper philadelphia light followed by a fat free yogurt. Total calories - 300. No idea about lunch yet but I probably won't eat now until 3pm ish.

Hi lottie - come join us.. what plan are you following?

daisy - well done on the 12s!! it is such a boost isnt it?

Re weekend eating - the only thing that works for me is to do exactly as I do during the week! Boring I know. It also helps that I rarely drink alcohol.

LaVitaBellissima · 27/02/2012 11:02

Yes Dust I'm the same too, Really good all week, then allow myself some Wine at the weekend and end up eating a shed load of baked pasta, not good!

I lost 1lb last week, would really like to do 2lb this week. I know that I just need to exercise, I did 1 measly run last week, fished out my hand weights and shred DVD, just haven't done it yet. Tonight's the night, I hope!

I've had yogurt, fresh fruit, and a sprinkle of muesli for breakfast, am going to have soup for lunch and fish for dinner.

Good luck everyone this week!

shine I can't cut out carbs, it zaps all my energy and gives me really bad headaches. It's all I have in the house just now till I get to shops. Will be buying sweet potatoes for dd so will add in an extra few for myself and have one for dinner. You need to watch your not lowering your cals to much or you won't loose weight. Your body needs fuel to function and without it, will hang on to what it's got. I will look at cutting out some thought. Baked potato for a start Grin

nenevomito · 27/02/2012 11:22

I can't use sweetners as they make me feel queasy, so I still have sugar in my coffee, but drink less coffee instead.

I have a lot of catching up to do after a weekend of serious excess, but find it quite easy when at home to stick to it.

Breakfast - 2 cups of tea and a cup of coffee (hmm maybe need to think about caffine intake) and some oatcakes. 210cals

Lunch will be a quorn and onion omlette. 250cals

Dinner - beef in beer with olives and anchovies. The rest of the family will have that with mash, but I'll just have the stew with veg. Still need to work out the cals in that with MyFitnessPal.

shinecrazydiamond · 27/02/2012 11:31

fuzzy - oh I am a complete carb addict - I love them! Cake, fresh bread, peanut butter on toast, crumpets, baked potatoes, pasta etc... love them all. But I find I have MORE energy when I cut them a little bit. It is so hard though - they really are addictive.

Yes, I have chopped my calories low. As I have stayed the same for a few days now I am wondering what is not working right now.

I may go for a dog walk in a bit.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/02/2012 12:08

Stewiesmom, I have fibro as well and I've sort of been ordered by my rheumy nurse to lose weight. It would be nice to not hear 83kg shouted out by the nurse who weighs me to the one who records it in my notes....loud enough for the whole waiting room to hear Angry...a little more discretion purlease! My next appt is at the beginning of April.
Just had an apple for my mid morning snack, but still undecided over lunch.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/02/2012 12:14

Fuzzzzy, those would be withdrawal symptoms! Stick with low carb and it will get better. According to Harcombe our body often craves the things that are bad for it, and a sure sign is how shit you feel when stopping it...it could be a wheat thing!
I'm on a gluten free diet, so don't get carb cravings too bad as I only eat potatoes and rice with occasional gf bread and pasta. Wheat based carbs seem to be the worst offenders for making people feel sluggish IME

FuzzzyDuck · 27/02/2012 12:57

Prob are withdrawal but I dont have the energy right now to try get through it! I'll stick to my low cal for a few weeks, see how I do. Iv managed with it before so I know it works for me. Iv found with low carb in the past that it's more a quick fix and the moment I try to re introduce carbs slow, I put it all back on, and then some more!

londonlottie · 27/02/2012 13:17

Hello, right back and time for a break DCs asleep so I can concentrate a bit.

:)

shine - not following a plan really, although I'm a low-carb person so will be ditching as many of them as I can. Really do feel so much better when I cut them out. Struggling to find my mojo this time - lost over 4 stone about a year ago, after having had my twins, but didn't do enough exercise to go with it so ended up with a hideously flabby body. Am 41 so really need to sort it aaaaaaht or that'll be me for life. Rather guttingly a few months of stress/indulgence/upheaval (started with holiday in Sept, then Christmas, then DH changing jobs, us moving back to the UK from abroad, etc) I seem to have put on almost 2 stone of that weight. Am bloody gutted about that. This time I want to exercise and do this ONCE AND FOR ALL. It's why I don't really want to think of myself as being 'on' a diet, because for me the implication is that eventually there'll be an 'off' period and I'll end up back where, well... I am now Confused

Time to get that Shred DVD out though and dust off the cover. Did it for 20 days in a row last summer and couldn't believe how much stronger/fitter I felt for it. But did I keep it up? Of course not...

LackaDAISYcal · 27/02/2012 13:40

Lunch, courtesy of another thread was chicken and sweetcorn soup, with egg swirled round. Yummy :)

FuzzzyDuck · 27/02/2012 16:12

Quick question maybe a bit of a no brainer but should I include the raw fruit/veg I've eaten? Like I cut up a carrot and had it after wrap. I guess calories are calories and I should include them eh? I'm used to with Scottish slimmers veg and 2 portions of fruit being 'free'
