Who is up for a stone off in a month?

MeremetaLoucoDiamant · 13/02/2012 22:49

Or maybe as close to that as we can get?

I am size 14, would love to drop a dress size for a specific date next month and I am possibly 20lbs ish overweight, so a stone would be a great starting point.

I am vegetarian but attempting to low carb.

So.... who's in?

You are all nice and welcoming, thank you Smile

10lbs in 21 days is doable but tough, FuckU. As someone who likes to set unrealistic tough targets, I can see why you want this, but if this takes you beyond your original stone in a month goal, I'd say you should focus on that, and anything else is a bonus.

shinecrazydiamond · 24/02/2012 21:13

welcome SGM... It's me - fucku blah blah.. Back as myself for a little while!

I know prudence, I have always been one for the unrealistic tough target though Grin

ferfuxake · 24/02/2012 23:51

Dim sum and wine. Definitely not low carb. Bugger, bugger, bugger. Please let me not have undone all this week's hard work.

nenevomito · 25/02/2012 09:15

I will be overjoyed to be back to 13st something instead of 15st something!

I want to be 12.5st which may sound a lot, but is still 3 stone lighter than my start weight. I think if I set that target it is more realistic and less likely to fail than anything less. When I get to 12.5, I will probably reassess and then set a new target.

Tonight may not go well as I have a night out with my SEN support group and those ladies party hard when they have a night off. Shock Grin

So I need to know what is a good low cal choice at a chinese restaurant and what is my best bet for drinks - so I don't end up 2000 over my calorie limit like last time Blush.

Any ideas?

shinecrazydiamond · 25/02/2012 10:25

what height are you baby? 12 and a half sounds alright to me - its all relative isnt it?

nenevomito · 25/02/2012 10:44

I'm only 5'5" so 12.5 is a size 16. It's ok and better than the 22 I was when I started but still larger than I want to be.

shinecrazydiamond · 25/02/2012 11:02

Nowt wrong with a size 16 that's for sure. See how comfortable you feel at 12 stone something...sometimes it's better to stick at something that you know you can maintain rather than go up to 15 odd stone again.

I have just eaten breakfast - half a pack of quorn fillets, 60g feta cheese, 2 tomatoes followed by a bowl of watermelon. Total of 280 calories so far.

Another lb down this morning, so a total of 16lbs since January 21st.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/02/2012 11:03

Not a great start for me. Scales say much the same as they did last week, but it's been a week of illness here; DS2 with nasty eye infection, DD with not so very mild chicken pox (they are in her eyes, mouth and other orrifices) so I've been grabbing snacks (not always healthy) when I can. I've shifted my goalposts to a stone by Easter Blush

shinecrazydiamond · 25/02/2012 11:08

Hey daisy - better to stay the same than gain... How about setting a goal of 2lbs off by next saturday? thats is totally achievable

Chicken pox is the devil's work

mousemole · 25/02/2012 13:18

Can someone tell me if my lunch is low carb.. Rocket salad with chicken breast, bacon, avocado, sun dried tomatoes, spring onions, hard boiled eggs and garlic mayo ? I'm waiting for my dukan and paleo books to arrive! Smile

nenevomito · 25/02/2012 15:24

I have the dukan book on the kindle and tried it last year but found it too restrictive for me. I need to cheat occasionally!

shinecrazydiamond · 25/02/2012 16:25

mouse - sounds ok to me Smile I am no expert though. My idea of low carbing is just cutting out pasta, bread, noodles and potatoes.

I have just eaten my lunch - 3 Cauldron veggie sausages with grilled mini portabella mushrooms and a dollop of philadelphia light. Total calories - 300. Breakfast was 280 so 580 so far. Dinner will be soup and some plums I think.

shinecrazydiamond · 25/02/2012 16:25

I just bought some size 12 jeans. Let's see if i can wedge myself into them [ a ha ha ha ]

LackaDAISYcal · 25/02/2012 16:40

That's true shine! 2lbs by next Sat it is!

For those struggling with the Dukan diet, have you tried Harcombe? It looks much less restrictive after the initial phase. I sort of try and follow the principles of it, ignoring the food intolerance aspects, and just using it as a weight loss tool.

Your lunch sounds lovely mousemole, and would be fine on the Harcombe diet as the main principle is not to mix fat with carbs. The avocado might be a controversial element though as I think it is both high in carb and fat.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/02/2012 16:44

Are you restricting yourself to a certain amount of calories shiney?
I can't do that, I get too crazy. Same with WW points. I get all angsty if I'm running out of my daily allowance!

TheElusiveBidet · 25/02/2012 16:56

I'm using MyFitnessPal to count calories to 1200 per day and find it quite easy. I'm just lowcarbing rather than following a specific diet as rules bring me down man Grin

dinkystinkyexpectations · 25/02/2012 17:29

Prefer the return to name/form Shine! Good luck with the size 12s.... Sounds like loads are doing well and Lacka, a sts is definitely better than a gain! Hope the pox passes soon.

peanutbutterjellytime · 25/02/2012 17:46

How did the jeans go Shine? Did you need a coat hanger! Grin

Weighed this morning, 2lb down since Monday, slow and steady and all that.

Do love being the classic pear shape though, have managed to drop a bra size from 32b to an A cup Angry and losing it round my ribs and collar bone but my bum and thighs are stubbornly refusing to shrink.

Everyone's doing so well and so motivated, summer here we come!

dearprudence · 25/02/2012 18:05

After a great week, I've succumbed to the evils of wine Blush so not lost any more weight, but hoping to stick where I am until Monday and then push on without carbs again.

Good loss peanutbuttter!

peanutbutterjellytime · 25/02/2012 18:21

Sounds like a good plan Prudence! If you're low carbing I doubt anyway if the wine will cause too much damage. Enjoy!

shinecrazydiamond · 25/02/2012 20:25

prudence - I am not really a size 12... depends very much on the shop. I am really a size 14. Well, the jeans fit... but I could not move or breathe in them so... work to do?

Todays' eating ..

quorn fillets, 2 tomatoes, feta cheese cubes and watermelon,

3 veggie sausages, mushrooms and light cream cheese

bowl of mushroom soup, 5 plums.

Total of 900 calories.

Yes, to whoever asked, I always keep an eye on calories, regardless of what plan i am doing. Yes, it can be soul destroying Grin

shinecrazydiamond · 26/02/2012 10:22

Morning all!

Started the day with a Total 0% fat free yogurt with blueberry compote - 121 calories.

Lunch will be rocket, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and roasted butternut squash and dinner will be mushroom soup I think. I'm going to try and drink a bit more water today too.

Weekends always a little tricky aren't they? I have the kids this weekend and it can get rather...dull

LackaDAISYcal · 26/02/2012 13:59

Shiney, I just noticed that you've lost your "on"

After a miserable night, being awake for half of it, I went back to bed from 9 to 11, had some left over chicken and rice....then some bakewell tart. I will get back on track tomorrow hopefully, if DD is better. She has got almost 700 individual spots and is more miserable than a miserable thing on misery day :( Thankfully no sign of it in the other 2 as they are stereotypical male wimps!

TheElusiveBidet · 26/02/2012 15:32

This weekend has been a total blowout due my consumption of around 2000 calories worth of cocktails last night and the 2am pizza. Back on the wagon now Blush

shinecrazydiamond · 26/02/2012 15:41

Lunch changed to stir fried mushrooms, yellow pepper, sugar snaps, baby corn, feta and quorn fillets. 300 cals. Plus a pear and a plum.

daisy - had a bit of a nightmare and had to de reg. So, am back but tentatively
