Who is up for a stone off in a month?

MeremetaLoucoDiamant · 13/02/2012 22:49

Or maybe as close to that as we can get?

I am size 14, would love to drop a dress size for a specific date next month and I am possibly 20lbs ish overweight, so a stone would be a great starting point.

I am vegetarian but attempting to low carb.

So.... who's in?

3 kitkats is not a binge... 2 finger ones?

mousemole · 22/02/2012 19:45

Cauldron veggie sausages are 4g per 100g carbohydrate. Is that low carb ?

homeworkheadache · 22/02/2012 20:10

Just let it go Kate and get back on the wagon tomorrow. I had my binge Saturday night but refused to let it derail me.

nenevomito · 22/02/2012 22:18

yes that sounds low - whats the protein content?

Don't fret too much about the kitkats. I have eaten WAY too much bad stuff today.

still within my calorie limit, but a proper meal would have been better than a caramel, a packet of malteasers and a yorkie biscuit.

fitflopqueen · 22/02/2012 23:03

still on track, although long drive & meeting yesterday,
breakfast - yoghurt and ham
lunch - salad with cheese & egg
snack - almonds (prob too many_
dinner - smoked salmon & lemon juice, chili with small amount of rice.

not enough water today!

weenwee · 22/02/2012 23:18

Me ME MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I'm at 124 kilo (well, 123.8, but who's counting - snort)

Doing modified Paleo, very excited to get through the first few days (just finished day 1) when the cravings should subside. ;)

Hello WeenWee... is this your blog?

Modified Paleo?!?

RabidEchidna · 23/02/2012 08:16

OK 2 shredded wheat for breakfast

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 23/02/2012 09:28

Activia fat free yogurt with strawberries and blueberries here

weenwee · 23/02/2012 09:40

Hey FUATHURIN!

Yes, modified Paleo. Paleo says you eat only what the cavemen ate - fruits, veg, meat, NO grains, caffeine, or beans. I'm doing a modified, so no sugar, flour products, but I do allow myself a small amount of rice with a meal, and I do sweeten my tea with a very small amount of honey. On the strict Paleo I do lose a ton of weight (1.5 stone in a month!), but bear in mind that I am very very large to begin with, and hated the caffeine withdrawal (hence allowing myself tea this time). Yes, that is my blog as well (it's on the Mumsnet network, nothing untoward!), essentially charting my progress for the next 6 months (at which point I will be performing for a couple of billion people in the Olympics ceremonies!).

Brekkie was a big salad of baby greens, with a sliced boiled egg, bacon, and a dressing made with the bacon fat, orange juice, and mustard rendered down, followed by a small fruit salad. ON NOM NOM!!!

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 23/02/2012 10:35

What are you performing at the olympics? Grin Sounds cool!

I think I've heard about this paleo diet... sounds like it works! So... you could be a good few stone down by the Olympics then? Stick with us kid Wink

wannabestressfree · 23/02/2012 11:47

Scrambled egg and bacon for brekkie
green tea
chicken and advocado salad for luch.
Have pre prepared a beef stew without the gravy etc for tea. Its a bit dry. Will try and make some Atkins friendly sauce........

weenwee · 23/02/2012 16:49

Thanks FUATHURIN. Yeah, I have two friends who did/do Paleo, they've lost about 150 lbs between them, the guy went from a 300+ lbs couch potato and is now a certified personal trainer! Seriously, amazing. The best part is since you can get carbs (the right kind, complex) from veggies and such, you still get all the food groups without feeling like you are on a roller coaster of energy/emotion/hormones. I will warn you though, the first few days of no processed flour/sugar/rice/soy etc will make you want to kill someone. It's a drug, I'm addicted, and until that addiction withdrawal fades, you do feel a bit like Ewan McGregor's character in Trainspotting! ;)

The Olympics - I am so excited! My husband and I both tried out, he was accepted into the opening, I'm in the closing. We don't know what exactly we are doing yet, only the most basic of group details (and of course, everyone has to stay mum on everything), but other than the nightmare of rehearsal schedules vs. when the babysitter can be with our little one, it's so exciting!

LaVitaBellissima · 23/02/2012 18:04

Urrrrggghhhhh tried on a swimming costume today, horrendous lighting, I just looked awful Sad

Really need to exercise, as I'm slimmish just not toned, BF twins has made my small pert boobs now look like jellied eggs in socks, I am so flat chested that I think my stomach sticks out more than my boobs Blush Sad Blush

and I ate a bacon sandwich this morning

mousemole · 23/02/2012 19:12

I'm liking the sound of paleo. I assume there is a book I can buy to add to my other 100 duet books ?!
Olympics sound so exciting !

mousemole · 23/02/2012 19:12

Diet books !

ferfuxake · 24/02/2012 07:55

Well, despite continued cheating I have managed to lose another pound and a half, so that takes me to 5.5 pounds this week! Am a bit worried about this weekend though as I amout with friends tonight and seeing people over the weekend too. Will be happy if I just manage to maintain this weight between now and Monday.

How are the rest of you getting on?

dearprudence · 24/02/2012 08:01

Can I join you please? Looks like you're having some success here.

I started a 'lose a stone in a month' campaign on Monday, low-carbing. I'm struggling to stick to it 100%, but have lost 5 lbs so far.

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 24/02/2012 10:08

prudence- welcome! 5lbs is bloody good, well done!

ferfux - good loss for you too. Yes, I'd concentrate on maintaining this weekend too, fingers crossed.

I am going to weigh again on Monday morning I think. 3 weeks until the 17th- eek! Could I do 10lbs in that time??? Yes, that would be quite some way over my initial stone off but tell me i can do it ...

Breakfast this morning was black grapes, strawberries and 80g of goats cheese.

Back later

nenevomito · 24/02/2012 10:45

Weighed myself this morning and I'm 14st 5lb

Start Weight: 15st8
Last Weigh-in: 14st 7lb
Week Loss: 2lb
Total Loss: 17lb

WOOHOO!!!!!

I'm pleased with my 2lb loss as that is what I'm aiming for every week.

dinkystinkyexpectations · 24/02/2012 11:56

Hmm, well will be on nil by mouth on Monday so suspect will lose the weight I've put on today from a couple of days bingeing then... silver lining to look forward to.

Well done on loss babyheave - keep up the good work...

And yes FU - you can do 10lbs in that time - just think of the end result Grin

ferfuxake · 24/02/2012 13:23

Welcome prudence. Sounds like we are following a similar diet with similar results so far. Well done baby heave you have lost loads and yes fucku I think another ten pounds sounds doable.

Good luck over the weekend everyone! Definitely the hardest time for me.

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 24/02/2012 13:54

Lunch has been pea shoots and spinach leaves [ sigh ], orange pepper strips, vine tomatoes, 1/2 pack of quorn fillets, 2 falafels and a tablespoon of grilled pepper philadelphia - calories ... 250.

Of course now I want a cake or two. Must keep focussed!

Glad that you think another 10lbs is doable in 3 weeks... I am on the case!

Well done BH- doing very well there.. within the next fortnight you'll be 13 stone something..

weenwee · 24/02/2012 16:13

mousemole, lol! Well, this is the one I use:

Everyday Paleo

I like it because it has kids recipes and was written by a mum who knew we didn't have time to faff about with crazy cooking and such.
