Who is up for a stone off in a month?

MeremetaLoucoDiamant · 13/02/2012 22:49

Or maybe as close to that as we can get?

I am size 14, would love to drop a dress size for a specific date next month and I am possibly 20lbs ish overweight, so a stone would be a great starting point.

I am vegetarian but attempting to low carb.

So.... who's in?

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 19/02/2012 23:30

Oh and 2 cans of diet coke

SeriousWispaHabit · 20/02/2012 07:49

Bloody hell, I would not survive on that. I am too greedy Blush

Have weighed myself this morning. Have lost 3kg in 5 days Shock

daisie4 · 20/02/2012 07:58

Can I join too? I'm off to somewhere hot in 3 weeks and could really do with losing half a stone at least. I'm going to try low carbing. Can you eat porridge? I'm thinking not?

alessthandomesticgoddess · 20/02/2012 07:59

I'm in. I'm on a 1300 calorie diet starting now (two poached eggs on two slices of wholewheat bread and water for breakfast). I'm joining the gym tomorrow and I'm aiming for two workouts and two classes a week. I hope to drop and drop!

I need to lose 7 stone. 1 stone is a start.

SeriousWispaHabit · 20/02/2012 08:53

Nope, no porridge, sorry.

Depends how low carb you want to go really, but to go really low carb means basically just eating meat, fish, eggs cheese, green veg, some oils and fat. You can also have a bit of stuff like olives/avocado. Most low carb diets gradually introduce some nuts/seeds/berries as well.

Doilooklikeatourist · 20/02/2012 09:06

Hallo , I would love to join this thread , I need to lose 2 stone .
Half term is over , stood on the scales this morning and I'm 12 stone 8 .
My Weightwatchers gold weight is 10 stone 4 . Ooops !
Lent starts tomorrow , so will give up chocolate ( not bothered about that really ) and biscuits . Gulp .
Trying my fitness pal , but find it a bit annoying !
Activia yoghurt and melon for breakfast , veggie soup for lunch , and that's as far as my planning goes !
Note to self ... Get yourself organised .

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 20/02/2012 09:20

aless - welcome! I would maybe start with 1500 calories in your position, with 7 stone to lose...1300 is quite low. You'll have the first stone of in no time at all.

wispa - that is a GREAT loss. As of this morning, i have lost one stone exactly since the 21st January. I won't be able to do another stone by the 17th of march will I? Arse.

Cabbage lasagne? the mind boggles. Sounds fucking grim.

I am starting my day full of cold and with a fruit salad and Activia fat free yogurt

Tillyscoutsmum · 20/02/2012 09:27

Can I join please ?? I'm 17lbs lighter than I was on 2nd Jan. I had been tracking on MFP (1,250 cals per day) and doing the 30 day shred. I have done neither of those things for the last 10 days. I need to get back to it. My brother gets married at the end of March and I would like another 7-10lbs off by then

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 20/02/2012 09:47

Hello tilly - welcome back to the fold

ferfuxake · 20/02/2012 10:17

Wow. Some of you have lost so much already. I am in awe.

Day 1 and so far I have just had puffed rice and peppermint tea for breakfast. Not hungry yet, probably as I ate enough yesterday to keep me going for a week. Missing my morning coffee though.

peanutbutterjellytime · 20/02/2012 11:09

4lb down this week, probably not helped by pig out Saturday but happy with that.

Fucku, I don't know how you manage to low carb being a vegetarian, I'd be eating slabs of cheese! Just a thought, but, do you think that maybe you need to increase your calories a bit? I know that you're desperate to lose a stone by 17th March but I know with myself that when I decrease them too much my weight loss stalls.

Seriouswispa, fantastic weight loss! bet that's spurred you on!

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 20/02/2012 11:27

peanut - bloody brilliant! well done.

My problem is i am not a person of moderation so I am eaither eating whole waitrose cakes and trifles along with granary loaves and full fat cream cheese or I am the reverse and being stupid. I know youre entirely correct!

we are all doing FAB

wannabestressfree · 20/02/2012 11:28

I would like to join too. I am 14 stone and 5,5. So have roughly 3/4 stone to lose. I am going away in the Easter holidays and feel so lardy so am low carbing. Am up against it a bit as am on steroids but determined to lose. Have done atkins before and lost loads

mousemole · 20/02/2012 11:36

Half way through day one, yay Smile some of you have done so well already. I'm determined this will be the time I actually DO lose the weight !

SeriousWispaHabit · 20/02/2012 11:45

I am amazed at weight loss actually as have felt like I have eaten really well, although reaalllly miss wine

May need a name change to SeriousSteakHabit though. I can see this being expensive.

nenevomito · 20/02/2012 11:53

I'm hoping to lose another 2-3 lb this week.

The weekend chocolate frenzy didn't help, but I am back on the wagon again.

This is now the longest I have stuck to a diet. I've lost 15lb, but since I was 15st 8lb to start with am still majorly overweight. I'd like to have lost another stone by this time in March.

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 20/02/2012 11:56

Come on Baby - you can do this! And 14 stone 7lb sounds pretty bloody good from a starting point of 15 stone 8... and just think- 4 weeks time, you'll be well into the 13 stone somethings...

Have a look at the principles of the 'No S Diet ...' I was given the book for my birthday [ by a very dear friend so I didn't clobber him over the head with it! ] and it makes loads of sense- but maybe more for when we're maintaining?

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 20/02/2012 12:01

wannabe - welcome. Do steroids increase your appetite? Take it just a stone at the time.

I am 11 stone mumble mumble and am 5 ft 4. I cannot think in terms of being 9 stone something so take it a stone at a time. I just want to be a comfortable size 12 and have a 'normal' BMI - as opposed to an overweight one.

Maybe we should list our reasons for wanting to lose weight?

For me - health related and vanity. I am perfectly healthy [ touch wood ] but have turned 40 now and wish to stay this way for as long as possible. My parents have both had cancer [ unfortunately one of them will not recover - my mum has ] and this spurs me on too. And vanity... i take great pride in my make up/hair/nails etc and want to feel comfortable in the clothes I want to wear

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 20/02/2012 12:01

mouse - what plan are you following?

wannabestressfree · 20/02/2012 12:13

They bloat you and make you look puffy in the face. I am going to take it slowly.

Reasons for losing weight.
I love nice clothes and I am limited to what I can buy.
What I do have is tight/ doesn't fit.
I feel self conscious having sex
I feel don't like having my picture taken/ taking my boys swimming

dinkystinkyexpectations · 20/02/2012 12:13

Food idea FuckU - I want to lose weight as I cant do the usual huge amount of exercise I did pre-accident so losing weight (i) to ensure that when I'm stuck on my arse post op I dont stack on even more (as the principles of weight loss will be ingrained by then with any luck) and (ii) to get back to fighting weight when my clothes look best on me - and possibly to have another baby at some point in the non-too distant future (still to be decided...) I'm 5 foot 4 and a size 12 - I know at 10 stone 4lbs its a maintainable weight for me and my clothes look good at that weight...

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 20/02/2012 12:17

Great reasons. Yes, the self conscious during sex one is a good one - although I hide this I am always VERY aware of my stomach... Everything else is OK ish but my stomach? Ugh!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/02/2012 12:22

Can I join in please?
I've already lost about 22lbs through a combination of SW and long term illness, but am still about 4 stone off my ideal weight.
I'm going it alone this time and am just limiting portion size, filling up on veg, and trying to exercise more. My illness has meant that I haven't been very active for ghe last six months, but I'm back at work, doing quite a physical job, so I'm hoping that helps.
Haven't weighed myself today, but I'm around the 13 stone mark. I'm only 5' 2" though, so pretty chubby. I'm also perimenopausal, so I need to get this all off before it's too late!

FuckUAndTheHorseURodeInOn · 20/02/2012 12:26

Hi Daisy - welcome! I follow my own plan too and my best tip is no snacks. I follow [ usually ] the 3 meals a day schtick and this works well.

nenevomito · 20/02/2012 12:42

Right. I am going to get off my arse and dust of the Wii fit and do some exercise.

For the first time in erm.....erm....in about the same amount of time as it took me to go from 13.5st to 15st8!!
