Just thought I'd start a new thread before the old one filled up. Looking forward to seeing everyone on here before too long....

Well went to meeting and weighed in. Gained a pound and a half. Not too surprising.

Really sorry some of you have had such bad meeting experiences. I really enjoy the one I go to. We always have a laugh and most people are really friendly and supportive.

Droves - not sure I could eat a spoonful of flaxseed but it's definitely a good idea to add to breakfast cereal or yoghurt. Keeps you regular!

Rezolution · 13/03/2012 14:25

Went to meeting last night and have "stuck". Same weight as last week Sad Just the same amount of food as previous weeks. I have started jogging three times a week and managed to swim three times last week too.
Just went out for retail therapy and bought size 14 trousers 'cos the 16s are flapping on me now.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 13/03/2012 15:19

Rezolution maybe you have put on muscle but lost fat, with all the extra exercise? You must be losing fat if you can fit into smaller trousers!

I haven't had that "smaller clothes" moment yet so am a bit jealous, though I do think I can do my belt a bit tighter than I used to (it's not one with holes though so bit hard to be sure!). Looking forward to smaller jeans eventually though...

Rezolution · 13/03/2012 15:44

MyNameIsInigoMontoya That is a lovely explanation! I do feel thinner and ran for the bus this morning and caught it! And I wasn't even out of breath.
Hope you are right!
I am saving all my fat clothes in the wardrobe ready for when I pile the weight back on. I have trodden this path so many times before!

ObviouslyOblivious · 13/03/2012 16:10

Oh Rezolution, please don't do that! Get rid of the clothes and move on. If you think you're going to fail it's so much harder to succeed. You can do it!

sparklesandwine · 13/03/2012 16:21

I agree you should throw those old clothes away and only keep the smaller ones its soooo easy to fall back into the trap of pulling a bigger pair out of the wardrobe because they are there

If you throw them away and only have the smaller ones you will be more inclined to loose the weight when your smaller sizes get tight than grab a bigger pair from the cupboard

Littlefish · 13/03/2012 16:28

Resolution - I agree with the others. Please take all your "big" clothes to the charity shop. I have now cleared out my wardrobe (5 stone lost) and feel so much better as a result. I love looking in my wardrobe and seeing all my new clothes looking back at me. I have made the commitment to lose weight and I never intend to go back. Having my big clothes in the wardrobe or attic just gave me a get-out-clause. I don't want that get-out-clause, I want to get slim and stay slim.

Well done on the size 14 Rezolution! And I agree the bigger clothes need to go. I am dying to get rid of mine. Currently a size 22. Have lots of size 20 waiting in the wings so won't need to buy anything one size down but am really looking forward to a bit of a spree when I get down to size 18.

ceebeegeebies · 14/03/2012 12:13

Ladies - need more advice (sorry!) I have inadvertently overeaten points for lunch (bought a Tesco sandwich which I thought wouldn't be that bad but it was 11 points) so I need ideas for a low-point tea now - any ideas? (When I was doing my other diet, I would have potato smiles and fish fingers in this situation as they were low-cal but I suspect they wouldn't be low-point on WW for having very little nutritional value Grin)

ObviouslyOblivious · 14/03/2012 12:25

Stir fry? Some kind of meat with loads of free veg or salad?

Rezolution · 14/03/2012 12:32

Thanks everyone. You are right, I need to take stuff to charity shop pronto. Otherwise I'll just slip back into my old ways. Just went to baths and swam for a whole hour because I met someone I knew slightly and we swam and chatted so I wasn't as bored. Then went to Sainsbury's and bought lots of fresh fruit and WW stuff to keep me going.

Littlefish · 14/03/2012 15:34

Ceebee

Chicken breast - 4 - 5 pro points, depending on size, dust with cayenne pepper or paprika
Roasted veg - 0 points
Corn on the cob - 2 points, if you are desperate for some carbs.

Well done Rezolution - sounds like a good afternoon. Smile

MadMadamMim · 14/03/2012 18:21

ceebee - how about an omelette packed with cherry toms, peppers etc to fill it up but with no extra points? That's my fail safe low point tea. I serve it with loads of salad as well...

ceebeegeebies · 14/03/2012 20:07

Thanks for the suggestions - unfortunately DH is away and I have been working all day so couldn't drag the DC to the supermarket after nursery/school so was stuck with what I had in the house. Have had a tin of broccoli and stilton soup at 6 points - best I could do!

Debs75 · 14/03/2012 22:02

Really, really bad day today. Had a cooked meal at Morrisons for dinner which is about 1,000 cals then halfed a chocolate bar with dp( on my period so needed it dersperately) and then had 2 hot dogs for tea, but only half the bread as the buns were quite big. I haven't dared add up my points yet as I know they will be way over. On the plus side apart from the chocolate I haven't snacked today

mumofjust1 · 14/03/2012 22:40

I gained 5lbs at weigh in this evening Sad

ObviouslyOblivious · 14/03/2012 22:48

Oh dear Mumofjust1! Was that a shock? Do you feel you had a bad week?

Debs I've had a couple of bad days too, DS has been very poorly and BFing like a newborn so I'm ravenous and I've got my period too.

mumofjust1 · 14/03/2012 22:55

I had a bloody awful week. Time of the month and chocolate and takeaway.

I have no one to blame but myself.

Still gutted though - I didn't think it was possible to gain so much so quickly.

I'll dust myself off and get back on the wagon tomorrow

CiderwithBuda · 15/03/2012 09:37

Well I weighed myself this morning and according to scales have lost half a stone. Since yesterday. Hmm. Weighed again after shower and had miraculously gained it back again! Oh well. It was nice to see such a low figure even if I knew it couldn't be right.

Mumofjust1 - it's bloody hard to see a gain like that but you will probably be able to shift it quickly. Drink loads of water. Green tea boosts metabolism - try for 3 a day. Plan your food. Up the activity if you can.

I am trying to do the same after gaining this week. Come on - we can do it!

I was on the Nothing Tastes Better Than Slim Feels threads for a while and our mantras were:

Nothing tastes better than slim feels!

It will still be there when you have lost your weight. I.e. You can have all the foods that made you fat when you have lost. If you still want them of course!

And.... Step away from the cake you fat biffer!

Right. Am off to hang up washing, put more washing on, strip beds and then go for walk.

Rezolution · 15/03/2012 12:45

Am determined to lose at least 1lb by Monday night's WI.
Off to the baths AGAIN in a few minutes. While I am there I will get green tea.
This pattern always happens with my weight loss. I get to ll stone something and then stick. Read in today's paper that we are pre-programmed before birth to be a certain weight! Conditioning in the womb or something. Don't really understand it but think I might be suffering from it! There, I have had mu rant, now off to exercise.

MissWooWoo · 15/03/2012 15:12

mumofjust1 I'm sure a lot of it will be water retention (totm and salty takeaway food are renowned for it) don't do what I did and get dispondent and throw the towel in for 4 weeks and put on even more weight! As Cider says drink lots of water and eat plenty of green veg, lean meat and fish and steer clear of processed foods (yes even the WW stuff), and stodgy carbs like white bread/crumpets etc you'd be surprised how quickly you can make a dent in that 5lbs Smile

Debs75 · 15/03/2012 16:05

Well today was abit better, had a healthy salad and fish for dinner and made too much so having that for tea as well. I have slipped and had a caramel shortbread but the totm cravings are still strong.
I pointed up yesterdays mess and it wasn't a huge amount over so I shouldn't have piled too much on and if I have I will blame totm

Cider I could do with Step away from the cake/sweets/burger/chocolate you fat biffer! as a ringtone on my phone, it might shame me into not buying if dp or dd sent me a text everytime I went to the shops

ObviouslyOblivious · 15/03/2012 16:53

Only had two hours sleep last night :( I'm trying not to eat to stay awake though...

GossipMonger · 15/03/2012 19:02

Went back to WW yesterday and had put on 3lbs in 6 weeks which is not so terrible.

am 12st 11lbs, 5ft 6' and a size 14.

would like to be under 11stone asap but am trying not to be too obsessed.
