Have done well my first week. Have quite a few weekly points left so going for a Starbucks tomorrow! Am doing lots of poos though Blush

devilsadvocaat · 14/01/2012 13:39

That'll be all the free fruit and Veg. I used to eat quite unhealthy things on the old ww. Never ate fruit!

Love the new ww system.

5inthebed · 14/01/2012 13:45

I love the new points sytem as well. Simply because fruit is no longer pointed so I am tending to snack on that, rather than use my points for something I will savour like crisps. Doesn;t feel like a diet to me, more portion control.

Have had some yummy tomato and smoked paprika soup this afternoon for my lunch. 3 points of yumminess.

piprabbit · 14/01/2012 14:21

I agree about the zero points on fruit and veg encouraging a change in my eating habits - it's much more tempting to fill up with fruit or a raw carrot or something rather than a WW chocolate bar (which just tempted me to eat more chocolate).

devilsadvocaat · 14/01/2012 14:43

Yes. One day I hope to be able to eat a piece of cake without it sending me on a sugar binge!

Hiya, tried everything to lose weight and just can`t.Now thinking of joining WW online.Have you got any tips when it come to a DH who loves cooking making me go over the points? He loves cooking Italian food and even making his own bread.
I am OK with breakfast and lunch but evening meals spoils it.I do have the WW cookbooks.I would so love to stop being small and dumpy!!Sad

5inthebed · 14/01/2012 18:45

I find Ww good because it means I have to watch my [portion sizes. I was matching my DHs portions before WW, which at 5'6 and he is 6'4 was just silly. I'm still eating pretty much the same with a few changes here and there.

Tonight for instance, he (and the DC) have had new potatoes with butter, garlic and herbs, whereas I've had minted new potatoes.

There is a recipe planner on the website, so you put the ingredients on and say how many portions are coming from the recipe and it works the points out for you.

I also like the 49 weekly points you have, which means you can have that little extra if something comes up without having to worry about eating.

Love the new pro points, best WW one yet.

ThatVikRinA22 · 14/01/2012 18:56

my cat has just knocked my WW points calculator onto the floor.....

yep.,
sums it up for me too! Grin

im loathed to start the new one cos i bought all the blardy eating out guides, shopping guide, calculator....it annoys me when they change it all!

5inthebed · 14/01/2012 19:55

Oh no! How annoying!
What about buying an old one from Ebay?

ThatVikRinA22 · 14/01/2012 22:44

do they do new calculators that work out the new points etc? if so that might swing it for me to join the new system...

5inthebed · 14/01/2012 23:07

Yes they do calculators, thy do full starter packs with all the stuf you need. Think they are about £90 though. And you can always still use the same recipe books but revise the points to the new ones.

ThatVikRinA22 · 15/01/2012 11:40

£90!!!!!

jeeeeesus! i think i paid about £20 for a big pack with all the old stuff in it - all the shopping guides/eating out guides etc. tape measure, trackers, and my caluculator was about a tenner!

i think i will stick with the old points in that case....i know the points value of just about everything i eat anyway!

£90! £90!!

piprabbit · 15/01/2012 12:53

So far I've not needed to upgrade to the new calculator as I'm using the online tools and finding them very useful.

Blatherskite · 15/01/2012 13:43

I've downloaded a pp calculator to my phone for free. Do you have a smart phone you could do that with Vicar?

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 15/01/2012 15:24

My name is Ben10 and I have been very very greedy. I beg forgiveness body. Please pop back into shape .

Right, well that didn't work Grin. I am about to embark on my first ever diet tomorrow. I'm 5 foot 7 and am normally a pear-shaped 10-12 on the bottom and 12-14 on the bottom. I am definitely not that at the moment. I've been off sick for 13 months now and have now had surgery. I'm on anti-convulsants for nerve pain which together with lack of activity, greed and a trip to an all-inclusive in Egypt last week have resulted in a horrendous 11 stone 1 lb. Given that I am to be around 10 stone or ideally 9 stone 12, I am not very impressed with myself. THat is a BMI of 24.27 which given that I normally am around BMI 22 and 25 counts as overweight, I need to act NOW. I'm aiming to get back to work in the next couple of months and I want/need to lose weight as I have no work clothes that are anywhere near doing up.

DH is starting WW tomorrow as well so I'll sign up for him online and then use the calculator to work out what I can eat. I'm really not looking forward to this but needs must and too many Biscuit has left me looking this this.

ThatVikRinA22 · 15/01/2012 16:35

good luck Ben10 welcome aboard!

i am still completely undecided as to whether to try the new points thingy...i do have an Iphone - didnt realise that the calculator app is available.

but ive really only got another 7lb to lose to get to my first target. Im wondering if its really worth it?

Peppapigsarse · 15/01/2012 16:37

How's everyone doing? Ive had a big blow out this week client entertaining me and another drank 4 bottles of plonk in the Chinese which was not point friendly! Then a further 2 large glasses..... So hung over the next day ate sh@t! But still lost 2.5lns so my total loss is 8lb!

piprabbit · 15/01/2012 16:46

Hurrah for Peppa's Wine induced loss.
Hello Ben10 - hope you get on OK with WW, hopefully it won't feel to diety as you can still eat favourites (so long as you have the points), good luck.

5inthebed · 15/01/2012 18:28

I'd just download a calculator and go as you are vicar. I have all the paper stuff/books etc from the first time I joined a class, can post it if you like? Just PM me your address.

Welcome Ben10, and good luck.

Very Envy at your Wine and weight loss.

WI tomorrow for me

devilsadvocaat · 15/01/2012 18:51

Me too 5!

Kids have been awful and I'm on the wine. Hoping it won't mess up my wi tomorrow.

I want to eat chocolate.

puggirl · 15/01/2012 19:00

Hi all, can I join too?
I started yesterday at home after talking self out of going to meeting. I have got 1 stone 7 ish to lose. I am 5'10 and fighting weight is 10 - 10.3. Not really sure how I managed to put on quite so much (buries head in sand) but I do love my food and drink. I have started running again and am going to dip my toe back into the evil jillian Shred DVD sometime this week too Grin

devilsadvocaat · 15/01/2012 19:13

Welcome pug :)

ThatVikRinA22 · 15/01/2012 19:15

thanks 5 - thats really kind of you, but i have been in touch with a pal locally who is going to drop me the stuff around - her and her friend are always joining!

i think, i will just keep at it as i am, and see how i go. When i get this 7lb off i might revise my goal, but ill see, my goal still feels like a long way off! the wine cravings are really kicking in....but ive got none in the house so i cant cheat!

i managed a run today, first one back since injury, so only a couple of miles but i feel better for it. (and ive had a sunday roast today to work off!)
