Just read article in DM about this (i think) new slimming pills. Apparently Mica Paris was using them and she lost two dress sizes in two months.
I am currently 110kg Shock and i used to be 68-75kg pre pregnancy weight (youngest dd is 7 and a half) and since then weight was just piling up until it reached 110kg.
I have to lose weight,i have to. I tried some other things in the past and low gi diet helped me to shed 10kg in 8weeks,but i lost motivation and got back to same thing.
Can anyone give me some good kick advice, how to motivate myself, how to find that inner strength to do things in a right way.
My BIG downfall is eating late ,especially when i come from work (9pm) and over the years it became a habit!!!!!!!!
Are this pills ok and did anyone used them???
Thank you for your time!!!!!SmileSmile

Thought i would check out mumsnet for a bit of info re xls, i have been on them for a week and have lost zero, my diets not so bad but snacking and skipping breakfast was a prob, reading this i know exactly why i haven't shifted a pound!, cos all the fat thats been bound by some super duper fibre complex is sitting in my bowels!!, they should def big up the need to drown yourself so youve some hope of going to the loo, alternatively amazon could do a frequently brought together offer for xls and super laxatives!

bangersnmash · 22/10/2012 09:06

Ok post weekend report on this .
Well good news ! Managed to shift 5lbs since I started with these 9 days ago . Probably not as much as others have lost , but these have been troublesome lbs to loose . I have been plateaued at the same weight for about 6 weeks . So if nothing else they have kick started the weight loss again .
Will carry on and see where I get to .
One thing I have learnt is that you really need to drink more water whilst on these. Other than that no side effects at all Smile

KnockKnockPenny · 22/10/2012 09:33

Jen, I havent had much of a problem with my bowels? Im losing weight (fast) and going to the toilet normally most days. I still eat chocolate & other treats.

KnockKnockPenny · 22/10/2012 09:34

Well done Bangers :)

loveteaandcake · 22/10/2012 18:37

no problems either with normal movements!!! drink plenty anyway!!!

Binkyboo123 · 22/10/2012 20:56

I started the Slimming World plan 3 weeks ago. Looking at the positive reviews for XLS medical, I thought I'd give them a try. This is my weight loss so far (need to lose about 3 stone in total):

Week 1 - lost 3lb without XLS medical
Week 2 - lost 2lb without XLS medical
Week 3 - lost 1.5lb with XLS medical

So not exactly a convincing weight loss with these this week! I will try them for another week and see how it goes. I am slightly bunged up too with these - seems strange as they are supposed a natural source of fibre!

Binkyboo123 · 22/10/2012 20:57

suppose to be a natural source of fibre!

KateeBee · 22/10/2012 21:37

Binkyboo, well done half a stone in 3 weeks is brilliant - and most of it done the proper way of sensible diet. I hope the xls kick in next week! If not save your cash!

I lost 4 lbs the first 2 days on these - but not one pound since (5 more days) however I am due on my period so might be due to water retention. I'm finishing the months supply before deciding if I love them or not as I guess there are too many variable things week by week to really know if they are helping or not.

nicpicpoo · 22/10/2012 22:41

hi ive been on xls since last tues didnt hav any loss till saturday and had lost 2lbs im resisting the temtation to get on the scales till nxt saturday i think a weekly weigh in is better, i havnt felt hungry which is good so havnt snacked as i normaly do im really hoping for results as since turning 50 i have put on 3 stone! im encouraged by some of the posts here i just hope it works for me ive never had to diet before so keeping my portions small (which i am doing) is hard, il keep you posted.

Sammyboy12 · 23/10/2012 13:39

Do you think it would also be safe to take adios with xls....?

Spannerfingers · 23/10/2012 17:15

The weight is coming back,

cacamilis · 23/10/2012 18:39

Hi guys, I am so glad I found this thread, there is so little chat or reviews on xls. I work in Boots and bought these today using my points. All the pharmacists I have met through work rave about them but have not used them personally. I am going to use them while doing slimming world. Weekends are my worst time so hopefully these will help. I actually started these 3 days ago, I had a few left from a free sample I got earlier in the year. I have noticed I am comfortably full most of the time.

spannerfinger are you still sticking to the diet and taking the pills?

Payback · 23/10/2012 21:57

Was on these for about a week and developed a headache for about 3 days. I went off them and headache vanished. I am going to try again but wondered did anyone else experience this????

Spannerfingers · 24/10/2012 12:57

I sure am,

In fact I've been takin a supplement of Acai 1500mg three times a day as well.

.

AnnaLouise2012 · 24/10/2012 13:17

Hi guys, I've been using these for nearly 3 weeks and have lost around 10lb so far which I've been pleased about. I've had to be quite strict about portion control and have tried to do a bit more walking. I haven't suffered from any headaches but have been trying to drink plenty of water too! Just stocked up on my next batch from Chemist Direct and saved about £25 on a month's supply!

mummyellie · 24/10/2012 22:25

Hi, I started these a week ago today. I've been following the slimming world plan, and after a really bad week (gained 2lbs - should have been more), I thought "it can't hurt" and started the next day. Weigh in tonight and I've lost 4lbs - far more than my usual 1lb without any more effort. I've been reasonably good, but so far, I'm pretty convinced the rest is down to the xls. Next week will be the real test. I've also read the paper (in a respected scientific journal) and it looks like they really do work (they won't make you thin overnight, but if you're watching what you eat, they will boost your weight loss). Thank you to everyone on this thread - if I hadn't read the positive reviews, I might not have tried and would probably be 4lbs heavier this week!

KnockKnockPenny · 25/10/2012 08:06

Great stuff Anna & mummy :)

KateeBee · 25/10/2012 19:36

Spannerfingers - how much how fast? I've not had the best couple of weeks either - after an initial loss of half a stone or so the weight loss has just stopped despite me doing the 2:5 diet, running and going to spin classes. I'm gutted and totally demotivated! Going to complete the months course, but will not be buying more unless the weight starts to shift again!

Spannerfingers · 25/10/2012 20:51

Kateebee, I lost nearly 10lbs in a week. And felt great, then it went bad for the next week, constipated, tired, gained the 10lbs back. Now in the 3rd week I've lost 6lb approx, I have eaten more fruit than a green grocers rat, 1 meal of toast & peanut butter for breakfast. A tuna wrap & fruit for lunch and lean meat, veg for dinner. No snacks other than fruit. I was however drinking flavoured sparkling water which turned out to be horrifically high in calories, much higher than i thought, so I've stopped that, I can't stand water, but I'm drinking it now 3-4 litres a day. I'm sure the water was a big factor in the gain. I'll finish off the month, and see how I feel then.

bangersnmash · 27/10/2012 09:11

Another update from me ....
Well I'm 2 weeks in now and have lost 7lbs . This has put me under a significant milestone that I've been struggling to get to . Very happy today Grin. Got another half stone to go to get to target weight .
Not sure it's all as a direct result of using XLS . Might be a bit of that , me watching closely what I've eaten and the placebo affect . The real test will me fitting in a slinky dress in 2 weeks time for a 'do' I'm going to !

loveteaandcake · 27/10/2012 09:41

well done- what ever the reason you are doing so well
next weigh in on monday- lost 3 first week will let you know...

Boobelle67 · 27/10/2012 11:14

I've been following thread for a while but decided to just join WW online due to side effects reported by others here. I tried WW diet but gave up as I either didn't lose weight or was permanantly hungry. A colleague has recently lost weight and when I asked her for her tips she said she has just cut out wine and that she had taken XLS Medical tablets so I decided to give it a go.

I didn't like the 123 diet online diet plan that came with the pack so for the past week I have been following WW online again and taking XLS tablets. Today is my week one weigh day and I've lost 8.25lbs!!! Still got lots to go but these tablets are definitely working for me so far. I've made sure I eat fruit and vegetables with every meal, and completely cut out wine (ie alcohol), and because of side effects mentioned by others I've made sure I've drunk plenty of water, always drinking at least 0.5litre of water when taking the tablets (I've taken 2 with every meal, except yesterday when I just had fruit for breakfast as I was going out for lunch so took 3 after my meal out).

I haven't seen any side effects yet (and my colleague didn't have any). My colleague is a vegetarian and I'm not, so the only mirror in our diets is that we have both cut out alcohol. For me, I see a huge difference taking these tablets from when I followed the same diet 2 months ago but didn't lose any weight. I feel much healthier in just a week, and I haven't been hungry at all.

So ... keep you fingers crossed for me please that the XLS tablets keep working (albeit I know the weight loss will slow down) - and I'll post back next Saturday with my results. x

KateeBee · 27/10/2012 15:19

Well done boobelle, a lot of us saw a big drop in the first week - then a bit of a slow down, so don't be too disheartened if the rate does not stay quite so high.

Something spannerfingers said made me think.... This may be obvious, but it is called a 'fat binder' I guess if your calorie intake is from sugar like spannerfingers fizzy water then it will have no effect.

I'm going to try eliminating sugar! I've still not lost 1lb in 10 days! Might also buy new scales. I can lose or gain half a stone by just getting off and on again so there is an element of guess work in my weigh-ins, I might be being a pessimist!

Shellycdn · 27/10/2012 16:48

Have found this thread when looking at using xls and it helped for me and my partner to make a decision to get some. As there were varying results and also some people having side effect we bought a month pack and split it between us to trial for 2 weeks.
We have now done one complete week with neither of us having any side effects whatsoever, we both eat the same diet which is slimming world, my partner has lost an amazing 10lbs in one week, and being a big guy it was probably expected for a bigger loss.
For me unfortunately it's a different story, have only lost 1.5lb, although it is still a loss I would have expected more. My reasoning for joining slimming world in the first place is because I have PCOS and we are in the beginning stages of going for IVF but need to lose at least 7st before our first treatment can start. After 9 weeks I still have only lost 7lb which has been disheartening, so the option of using xls was quite an easy one to help boost the weight loss, along with SW and exercise.
I do know that PCOS messes with weight loss and gains but was hoping this was my solution. I am going to give the second week a go as if could be my body just balancing itself out.

KateeBee · 27/10/2012 21:05

Shellycdn, firstly I want to send you masses of luck for the weight loss & IVF. But I also wonder have you talked to your Dr before starting on xls? I want to stress that I know F. all about medical stuff and F. all about nutrition so I could be speaking bullocks.... But, I remember reading that PCOS and vitamin D deficiency are linked - xls states that coz vitamins A D and E are fat soluble the tablets can stop uptake in the gut (therefore they are added as supliments). It might be fine, but if it was me I would check with my GP. I've had friends with PCOS and I know weight loss is horrendously difficult so I hope it's fine to take xls and I hope it really, really helps. :-( poor you.
