I am at the age where it is just a matter of (short) time before I develop a health problem relating to my weight - joints, Type 2 diabetes or even a heart attack. It really is that serious.
I am sick of not having any "nice" clothes (don't want to invest until I lose weight Hmm).
I did it in summer, stuck to it for ages which is something I have never managed to do. I CAN do it again.

So here's the plan. Back to foodfocus as of tomorrow. No days off (logging, although I may choose to eat more than I am "allowed". Everything must be logged.
No excessive competitiveness with myself. I truly believe this is part of the reason it all went wrong.

3 or 4 lb to lose every week. Might sound a lot but it's easy when you're big - I'm sure I could do it by just eating 3 normal sized usual meals a day. So pathetic if I can't.

Coming back here to report on progress. Caring and supportive thread but not accepting bullshit excuses!
Anyone want to join me?

Good Morning/Afternoon.

I went back to Uni friday night, and drank 2 bottles of cherry sours and a quarter of vodka. Deffo no weight loss this week,

  • all my friends had a three hour argument, that involved everyone crying. Before that was a brilliant night. However, i would like one night where someone doesn't cry.

and, now i'm in bed, meant to be doing uni work, and deciding weather to move to London for three months, but instead i am on here.

Aaaannndd craving a Pizza. Yum!

2lbs on? I think so!

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 22/01/2012 23:14

Hi all and well done stacey and notvery! I missed your good news before.

Well I am still feeling a bit rough and cold/fluey, so no exercise today or yesterday and haven't left the house all day. The good news is I have managed to stay within my daily points and not used any weekly ones today (rare!). also just been doing an online shop to try and get organised with healthy stuff for the rest of the week, it's definitely easier to stick to with a bit of planning ahead.

Here's to a good weight-loss week for everyone!

StaceymAloneForver · 23/01/2012 09:24

daisy the dress is for my wedding, dp told me atthe beginning of january that we were getting married in Las Vegas on the 17th of Feb, so i'm desperately trying to fit in my dress Grin so glad it did up, just a little bit left to lose

well measured today and my waist is heading towards 29" my chest is now 31.5" and the largest bit of my hips is 40" (although that's more kangaroo pouch and bum) smallest bit of my hips is now 37", def heading in the right direction.

And today i don't ache to much after day 3 of shred.

Good luck with monday weigh in's people! Smile

notveryinventive · 23/01/2012 11:12

Red - thats not very nice of them. I wouldnt say anything and be a bit quiet about it. You dont need anyone's approval.

Mabs - my DH often suggests going out for something to eat too and I always feel awefull saying no so often go :(

Stacey - the 17th of Feb, ooh not long to go, bet your excited.

kate - good luck with weigh in, you might surprise yourself and not put as much on.

Im feeling much more positive today. Last night I decided that my arms and legs were looking better after doing the shred and I have also been looking into my local swimming pool open times so have decided that along with shredding I am going to go swimming monday and Tuesday and take DS on Thurs after school as he doesnt get to do too much.

notveryinventive · 23/01/2012 11:13

sorry awful. I never can spell that word. Should have looked it up before posting Blush

CotherMuckingFunt · 23/01/2012 12:37

Lost this thread for a while but I'm back.

I've lost 3kg since Christmas so not too bad.

MABS · 23/01/2012 14:39

I really should say no to going out tho, am so weak. today very good, just poached egg for brek BUT going out for bloody tapas tonight, i should say no, but i bloody love tapas and am soooo weak .. pt sesh tmro though.

notveryinventive · 23/01/2012 16:44

Me too, Im very weak when going out for lunch/breakfast/dinner is suggested.

Im very proud of myself right now. I was really hungry and fancied chocolate, but had an apple instead Grin Still want my chocolate, but it will be tea time soon so will fill myself up with that and take my mind off it.

MABS · 23/01/2012 17:34

well done notveryinventive! i just ate 4 chocolate fingers :(

lydiathetattooedlady · 23/01/2012 18:06

hello, did everyone have a good weekend? red it would really upset me if my family members said that to me Sad

well done cother and stacey.

Went out for a curry on saturday and drinks after for dads birthday. Ended up so hungover on sunday me and dh had a mcdonalds Blush Im giving ww a try this week to see how i get on, before i decided to cancel or not. As saturday was weigh in day i didnt point it, but i did point my mcdonalds and didnt have anything else apart from a turkish delight!

is anyone else on ww? Do you stick to 26 or do the old 29? im finding 29 more realistic!

well done on reisiting the choc notvery i've just snaffled 2 animal biscuits off the kids Grin

notveryinventive · 23/01/2012 18:09

Oooh I dont know DS and DD1 are eating sponge cake and custard and there's more left. I really want some :( DH is getting me a small portion now, but it will satisfy my craving.

Though on a positive note I tried some of DH's bubble and squeak (I had chips) and it was ok. So Im going to have that when he does now. Im not a big lover of veg so Im hoping this can lead me onto actually having more than just peas and carrots with my meals. DD1 got really excited yesterday when she saw the sprouts we had bought (which she asked for). She absolutely loves her veg and cant get enough of broccolli, asparagus and parsnips etc.

fivegomadindorset · 23/01/2012 19:07

Evening all, got a tinking cold, have been very good today food wise though. Museli, yoghurt and banana for breakfast, pasta, chicken, onion, pepper and sweetcorn for lunch.

I weighed myelf thi evening and I weigh lighter than this morning Hmm

MABS I love tapas, you lead such an exciting life.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 23/01/2012 19:22

lydia I am doing WW too and have increased mine from 26 to 29 and have found it much better (and am still losing weight). 26 was just too hard to stick to and then I got frustrated when I went over and then went "sod it" and ate too much!

I was a bit bad at work and had battered sweet and sour chicken and a banana fritter Shock cos they were doing Chinese new year... but on the plus side I wasn't that hungry due to being full of cold, so didn't actually eat all of it, and only had a small tea too (which was v healthy pasta anyway). So not a disaster.

Still a bit gutted not to be able to exercise, but I have a nasty cough and achy head so better give it a miss for today.

DaisySteiner · 23/01/2012 21:43

Wow Stacey, how exciting! Hope you're going to post some pictures after the big day Smile

Wish I was going out for tapas MABS, I bloody love tapas or mezze, anything like that!

Yesterday was a bit of a write-off food-wise as we were at a 40th birthday. Had a small-ish piece of chocolate cake, glass of wine, portion of chilli and potato, greek salad, bread and lemon tart and then rounded it off with 5 black magic when I got home Blush Oh well, at least those pesky black magics are all finished now so I can't be tempted by the open box (although still have lots of xmas chocolates unopened in the cupboard!)

Didn't get weighed today at the hospital as I hoped, but jeans are hanging off me, definitely heading in the right direction.

Hope you feel better tomorrow MyNameIs

StaceymAloneForver · 24/01/2012 09:12

thanks daisy i will try but me and technology do not mix very well Grin

well i measured my waist today and it 29" and chest is 31" hip measurements are all under 40", this exercise stuff does work :)

on a normal day i am eating:

1 piece of toast with lighter lurpak for brekkie, 2scrambled/boiled eggs and a go ahead bar for lunch (i have a very sweet tooth and these are great), a portion of meat (whatever dp is having, last night was chinese flavour rib pork thingys, sooo unhealthy) but i didn't have the chips dp had, i had salad for idnner and then 2 squares of dark chocolate.

for those of you having chocolate cravings, try asda/tesco/sainsbury''s own brand dark choc, its about 70% just bit small bits off and suck them, tastes really creamy like this and you don't eat as much as it's very rich, ad obviously it contains less cocoa butter, and more cocoa powder so it's better for you than lighter chocolates (i'd say stay away from the 90%, i tried it, it's rank!!)

hope you all have positive days!

MABS · 24/01/2012 10:42

tapas were great girls :) BUT 2 bottles of wine between 3 of us wasn't... trainer coming shortly as back feeling better, but hungover so may well throw up mid session ! oops

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 24/01/2012 12:33

nearly my 2 week weigh in, I try to only get on the scales once a week at the same time (morning) as its just too disheartening doing it every day. weight fluctuates so much over the course of each day that it doesn't give a true enough reading if you do it too often. I have been sticking to my sw regime religiously and have had no alcohol either, not missing it yet but have not done anything challenging yet to test my resolve. all will change on sat as I am going out for dinner which will involve alcohol too. I want to be sensible but still have fun and not totally deprive myself but am worried that a taste of the good life Smile will set my resolve wavering. even though I have loads to lose DH said yesterday that my face looks thinner! weird after only two weeks but I thought it did too. just wish the belly did Grin have ordered a dance fitness dvd as I am very lazy and do not exercise so thought this might help?

MABS · 24/01/2012 13:07

sounds good Eccles, bet you have lost some, i sadly havent but i not in least surprised, miracle i didn't gain!

fivegomadindorset · 24/01/2012 13:38

Well that is a good start MABS.

Eccles - you should be OK, I have been doing SW for a couple of weeks and cheated horrendously at weekends with drink but have managed to lose and I have lost weight on my scales thsi week as well. I think I am taking the more relaxed route. I am still waiting for the catch regarding SW to be honest. Today I have had so much food but apart from a tsp of very light Lurpak it has all been free.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 24/01/2012 13:45

I know five I am just constantly amazed at how much I can eat on it, free foods abound in my fridge which suits me as I really have a binge mentality, some days if i am bored i can spend all day snacking and just considering what to eat next. free food is just made for me Smile can't work out how it works but it does!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 24/01/2012 13:49

just having low fat supernoodles (free) with fry light fried egg on top (free) made a vegetable tagine to have with cous cous for dinner later (free) yay and still room for some fruit and a muller light yoghurt for supper (free)

MABS · 24/01/2012 14:04

all your comments are making me wonder bout joining sw, but what do you actually do at meets?!

fivegomadindorset · 24/01/2012 14:09

Go, pay, get weighed, go home. I drop in on the way home so only stayed for the first meeting, will try and stay in another couple of weeks, but I leave home at 7.20 and don't get home until after 7.30 if I just stay for weigh in. The meeting is just healthy eating tips etc

MABS · 24/01/2012 15:19

my trainer weighs me weekly so do you think i would benefit?

fivegomadindorset · 24/01/2012 15:27

I can give you the gist of it.
