So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

Much sympathy for those wading through treacle from sleep deprivation, there is truly nothing worse. I actually slept 11-6 without waking last night, still feel weary this morning though.

V interesting on a Day Off every week. Lots of members from my group eat what they want the evening after group, a whole day sounds tempting... You'll have to let us know how it goes TSP.

Anyone else have some days when you're just not bothered about naughty food, and then days when all you can think about is chocolate? I think my bad days tend to coincide with tired days.

Food today, hmmm...
B- bacon and egg and a pear
L- soup (if I get round to making some) super noodles (if I don't)
D- fishcakes and salad

HOWLING!!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/01/2012 09:26

I only do decaf coffee!
I would recommend the switch to all those of you having trouble conceiving at the moment too, as it can make a difference.
Anything over 5 hours is a normal night for me so last night was poor but not exceptional. I'm also off to the gym in a moment!

Re the Day Off - I think it's only really supposed to be one meal, because some people really go into hyper binge mode if they think they have a day off and could easily eat 10,000 cals! I'll just be having a meal out with DH and not caring that it's pizza and wine etc., but I'll still be pretty frugal earlier in the day

debka · 19/01/2012 09:38

Yes that would be me TSP, I am the Some People Grin

Riapwhatyousow · 19/01/2012 09:49

I too am Some PeopleWink

Grin at introduction TSP.

pixie - what do you do in a theatre? My DS1 is doing his school work experience half and half between the local radio station and a theatre. (Didn't think of magicians assistant at the timeWink)

done 10 mins of yoga on the Wii this morning. (also managed to WI again somehow when I wanted to do a balance test, and have gained 2lb since yesterday! I promise to deduct that 2lb from next weeks DOD loss unless I have only lost that 2lb) Damned silly thing is convinced my Wii fit age is the same as my real age at 38. I am not 38, but my DOB is inputted correctly. Gah! might have to ask DS1 to show me how to work it.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/01/2012 09:54

Jesus, I go off to tidy up and look at your lot nattering away.

I just choked on a grape laughing at that intro TSP. Can you imagine " she died while reading an extremely funny post on MN"

Sorry to everyone else who is exhausted.

I know lots of people who have one nght off a week and it seems to work for them. I am going to have wine tonight, but not much due to HIGH RISK of being up in the night. I am also nt going to have chips or pudding but anything else is fair game!

pixiestix · 19/01/2012 11:12

Ria its about the least glam and exciting job you can get within a theatre. I am site supervisor which means I deal with all the non-creative emergencies! Grin So nothing remotely arty or fun - its all "The fire alarm is going off in the middle off the death scene" "We have run out of programmes and 20ps" "An actor has just fallen funny on stage and his toe is hanging off by a thread!" Enter Pix to save the day! And when there are no emergencies I sit on my arse and eat biscuits drink tea - so its a pretty good job all in all!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 19/01/2012 16:00

I WANT YOUR JOB PIX! Sounds amazeballs. I might beg you to PM me and tell me which theatre you're working in - I do the rounds a bit you know (assuming you are London based).

"Though the play itself was risible in every aspect, the site supervision was of a standard rarely, if ever, encountered in the Modern Age."

I just done a 5 mile walk. It has cheered me up no end mostly because I spent the entire 5 miles getting free therapy off my very long suffering Other Half Grin

debka · 19/01/2012 21:20

O God. Epic Quality Street related Fail.

Better go to bed before I start on the DD's sweets :(

kid · 19/01/2012 22:31

DH came home with a box of chocolates tonight and a bottle of champagne that someone had bought him.
I stopped after 3 chocolates and I didn't open the champagne (only because I don't like it!)

pixiestix · 19/01/2012 22:36

Its quiet tonight! What are you all up to?

Tomorrow is another day Debs and a few Quality Street shouldn't make too terrible a difference to your weigh loss, which is totally fantastic btw.

Well, I went to my RL class tonight and I have stayed the same, as I did last week as well. So bottom of the Doom list for two weeks in a row for nothing!! Grin My scales are obviously on the blink.

Its a bit tragic that I am dead pleased about maintaining for three weeks, isnt it! Grin Under-acheiver that I am!

Hedgepig · 19/01/2012 22:51

Went to my RL weight in too pixi I have put on 1.5 lb from our weigh in yesterday , but I have been scoffing bad stuff all day . So today is my day off and I will try very hard all weekend to stay on track and if I haven't lost at next weeks RL weigh in I have to stay to the group as a punishment! now there is an incentive to lose weight

pixiestix · 19/01/2012 23:14

Grin Haha, every time you fancy something bad during the next week just imagine us slow clapping you with fixed grins!

Hedgepig · 19/01/2012 23:24

Thanks I have that image firmly fixed in my head. Shock

I have also downloaded the my fitness pal thing , looks quite interesting but I think i would struggle to keep it up to date . I may have a little play with it tomorrow

midori1999 · 20/01/2012 08:55

I'll apologise now for only reading the last post, but I need to be on here or I'll have a total blow out today. I've got mastitis again. It's the 8th time and I am really cheesed off about it.

I think my 7 year old must be ill too. (He has Downs Syndrome, so not your average 7 year old though) He went to bed at 6pm and is still there, which is absolutely unheard of for him, so he must have picked something up. Sad

TSP thankyou, that has cheered me up no end! Grin

Kid, I'm impressed at your will power eating only 3 chocolates! I love champagne, so would not have been able to resist it, which would then mean eating all the chocs, so I might have to kill my DH if he did that...

I ordered a cross trainer yesterday, I hope it's a decent one when it gets here. Going to the gym is out of the question with DD and I only really use the cross trainer and weights anyway if I go, so I think it'll be a good buy. I can use it once the DC are in bed and watch TV at the same time so I don't get bored.

I had almighty will power last night! Fancied a bit of Toblerone, but it is about 7 syns a piece and I didn't want to use them, so had an Options instead.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 20/01/2012 09:12

Gah, sorry about the mastitis midori Sad - as you've been having it so often is there something else they should be doing to prevent it?? I've no experience at all in such things but I do know from friends how awful it is, so much sympathy, and to your poor DS. Hope he perks up to his lively self ASAP...

And a slow SW-style hand-clap and fixed grin to rejecting the Toblerone Grin ( can we ask MNHQ for a SW-applause emoticon?!)

Hedge let me know how you get on with the MFP thing - you can actually hook up with pals on there, so if you want to PM me and we'll swap details. It suits people who are a bit obsessive and constantly on-line (ie me) - I find that the logging of food makes me feel in control, and control is my main Thing - but I think there are some people it just wouldn't suit.

RIGHT. Today is my day for a Meal Off! I do mystery eating so we are checking out an Italian place. I'm going to walk to town (about 4 miles) to get some cals in the bank, and not drink, and just have yog for breakfast and some butterbeans (toot toot!) for lunch, to minimise the damage...

Once there however, I'm all about the 'zza and the torte, and I don't care who knows it

Cheese was it last night you were on a date? How was it?

Bee mate, thinking of you. x

TheScarlettPimpernel · 20/01/2012 09:13

PS I'm well jel on the cross-trainer front Mid. It'll be really interesting to look at MFP and the cals you're burning on the X-trainer and get a bit of a handle on your calories as well as your SW stuff...(I very much take the view of arming oneself with as much info as poss!)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/01/2012 09:43

Morning all!

Yes last night was date night. It was really lovely. We went to a Vietnamese place just down the road, delicious! We had wine and spring rolls but everything else was grilled and steamed so I am hoping it wasn't too bad. But most importantly it was good to catch up with DH. Sometimes I feel like we are running along 2 parallel paths and just surviving. But that's prob normal ehen you've got a small baby.

I'd love a crosstrainer, that's a great idea midori.

Well done on choc and fizz avoidance kid.

TSP how was the theatre?

midori1999 · 20/01/2012 09:48

Thankyou!

I did use MFP to lose some weight before (without doing SW) and got 16lb off, but then got pregnant again so stopped as I was quite paranoid after previous losses. I did put it back on my phone the other day, but it's changed, so I need to get used to it first. I a, not technically minded. Blush How many calories do you do on the x trainer? Will check MFP in a mo to see if it is still on there for me. The cross trainer does measure calories burned, someone on the reviews reckoned 900 calories an hour, but they must have been killing themselves, surely?! Grin

Grin at the SW clap. I think that is honestly the worst bit of the groups.

Enjoy your meal off! I used to cheat have a 'night off' once or twice a week when doing SW previously and still lost. I once had a night out, parmo (only those from Middlesborough will know what that is!) and a huge kebab all in one week and stil had lost 5lb at weigh in. I was beyond thrilled!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 20/01/2012 09:50

Oh that sounds fab Cheese. Very very difficult to get fat eating Vietnamese so that was a great choice!

The theatre was fantastic - just off to shut myself in the study and get writing (I've really missed it since finishing my studies so it's lovely to have something to think about other than America's Next Top Model and how many cals are in lunch!)

midori1999 · 20/01/2012 09:53

I am jealous re: the Vietnamese food, it sounds delicious!

Re: the mastitis. I have tried everything. I have seen GP, BF specialist HV, been to the breast clinic and also the breastfeeding clinic. I am super careful about latching and how I feed too. I have breast implants and also oversupply, so I think they may be factors. I haven't had a bout for quite a while now, I think as I haven't been expressing at all and DD is on solids, although BLW, so my supply has dropped of a bit. She started BF more recently though, so I am not sure if the increase in supply has caused it. Fluey symptoms seem to be going and breast softening though, so I think I'm getting rid of it before it gets too bad. Thank goodness!!!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/01/2012 10:11

You hve my sympathies midori and my respect. I really struggled to BF dd due to a huge number of probs and only made it to 4 months of ebf then mixed fed which packed the whole thing in v quickly. I have no suggestions, but I had mastitis three times and it was pretty depressing. Just keep focusing on what a good start you are giving them. Have you posted on the BF board?

tsp maybe we should give you an obscure word to squeeze in your review? I agree, I get obsessed with dd and my weight, it's good to have other things to talk / think about!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 20/01/2012 10:17

Cheese har I'm well up for word-sneakage and open to suggestions Grin

I am watching Sherlock again and I don't care who knows it.
