So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

It wasn't my supply teacher is magic Was it kid? DS really liked it

TheScarlettPimpernel · 17/01/2012 19:28

Just passing by really quickly to say hi and thanks for being so nice about my navel gazing Grin Feels good to have somewhere to splurge as don't like doing it to friends in RL - apart from anything else they've heard it all before and not seen any results Hmm

Ria sorry you feel low: I hope college goes better tonight than you'd feared.

Off to iron some clothes for a meeting tomorrow. I only iron about once every 6 months. Cannot wait to be slim enough to wear a proper smart business suit.

And don't forget for my fellow Biggest Lower fans - I (and Cheese?! will be here at 9pm cheering them on!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 17/01/2012 19:28

*Loser, obviously...

TheScarlettPimpernel · 17/01/2012 19:42

Sorry sorry Blush Am SUCH a lame-ass. Have planned tomorrow's food so putting it down here ...

B - large skinny cappuccino (what? What?!)
L - All from Boots Shapers: chicken sarnie, bacon crisps, nougat bar thing
D - veg curry with an egg, rice, carrot/cabbage slaw stuff; bit of icecream

Exercise - I'll walk home again. Bit concerned that I've read in one or two places that MFP grossly over-estimates the calories you burn during exercise, which is a bit worrying as I do eat them all (as you're advised to do).

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/01/2012 20:04

Hello!

I never believe what MFP tells me, I aim for 200cal less than what they allocate me! I will be watching big fat loser tonight, see you on other thread.
Risotto was delish. Are there syns in quark? Horrid period pains tonight. Must not eat biscuits. Must not eat biscuits!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 17/01/2012 20:13

Oh gawd, if I ate 200 less than the allocation I'd be on 1000 a day (minus ex. cals) which is surely-to-god mental?? I have been putting in about half of the exercise instead - say, inputting a 30 minute walk instead of an hour - and then eating the cals.

Oh dear! We'll see what tomorrow morning brings!

(Quark is free btw)

Hedgepig · 17/01/2012 20:17

Nope quark is free cheese.

Just made a yummy chilli with turkey mince, it's not low enough in fat to be free but it was yummy all the same, I have been positively saintly on the syn front today and yesterday my brain is back in the right place.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/01/2012 20:27

Oh good thanks all!
Halving the exercise should do the trick tsp. I'm planning a hot choc during biggest loser.
Well done on being so virtuous hedge

debka · 17/01/2012 21:16

Just back from group, had a good loss and have just eaten a big slice of rocky road and a bowl of shreddies. Oops....

kid was he on??

FriendofDorothy · 17/01/2012 21:17

Gah. I have just completely overeaten tonight. I have no self-control, or will power it would seem!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 17/01/2012 21:19

Oh big well done on the loss Debka :)

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/01/2012 21:20

Just place marking. Sitting down for the first time today to watch masterchef and catch up on here. :)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/01/2012 21:21

Well done debka. I'm not expecting a big loss tomrrow, new scales and my period!

debka · 17/01/2012 21:24

Thank you, I feel sick now....

TheScarlettPimpernel · 17/01/2012 21:33

Friend, discard today and look to tomorrow, when old things shall pass away and, behold, all things shall become new and Syn free and whatnot!

I know the feeling, mind. DH found an empty jar of mincemeat behind the PC the other week. The teaspoon was still in it Blush

kid · 17/01/2012 21:40

DS was not on, yes it was the supply teacher programme. I forgot all about it until 15 minutes into it but I assume he wasn't on tonight.
I've set the box to record the whole series (13 episodes) so I won't be missing it again.
His school arranged it all, we just had to sign a letter and was sworn to secrecy over the whole thing. It was really exciting Grin I can't wait to see DS on it.

I have had a really good week. Good for me, bad for SW. Oh well, DoD tomorrow is going to bad for me but it is star week so I'll just blame it all on that.

I was feeling peckish so was going to have a few biscuits but decided to have a clementine instead.
I was meant to go gym last night but didn't go as I was home late. I didn't go tongiht because it was too cold to go back out. DH reckons my excuses are getting worse but I just told him that when he actually goes to the gym, he can comment. He didn't say anymore about it after that Grin

midori1999 · 17/01/2012 21:42

So are some people doing MFP and SW at the same time, or one or the other, or am I confused? Blush

Well done on the loss Debka. Rocky road is something I could not resist if it was in the house. The children have to have things I don't like to eat when I am doing SW. Luckily they don't mind and my son insisted on some of the soup I made yesterday.

I'd lost 3lb at tonight's weigh in. I feel a little disappointed tbh, although I don't know why, I have eaten loads this week as I've felt really hungry all the time. I'm going to try and eat more salad and other superfree foods this week and see if that helps.

My SW leader is hilarious. I am going to keep going for her alone. This week she was talking about mini meringues and asked if anyone in the group had seen them. One lady put her hand up (same lady that asked about blending fruit last week, by coincidence!) and said they had them in her local bakery and they were quite cheap in there. Leader asked fi she'd mind saying how much they were and when she replied '80 pence for 6' the leader held up her box of mini meringues and waved them around the room, nodding and saying '12 FOR 99P IN ALDI' (and she was speaking in capital letters too!). I honestly expected her to poke out her tongue and say 'na na na na na, my meringues are cheaper than yours' at the end. I had to try really hard not to laugh. Grin There were a few other gems too, including making one woman repeat that she thought her loss hadn't been good this week due to her period starting this morning. Shock

midori1999 · 17/01/2012 21:44

Friendofdorothy I have just eaten the hugest plate of chilli and pasta. It was syn free, but a ridiculous amount. I feel sick and bloated!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/01/2012 21:47

I want to come to your class midori. Sounds highly entertaining. I'm doing both MFp and SW. It helps me keep an eye on my pasta / rice portions etc!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/01/2012 21:48

Oh and 3lb is Blooming awesome

TheScarlettPimpernel · 17/01/2012 21:51

Midori please keep tales of your SW class coming Grin

And bloody well done on the 3lb. If you lost 3lb a week every week you'd be lithe and slender as a young willow by Easter!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/01/2012 21:59

Meant to say there is a Facebook group that we started with pictures of our ever decreasing mass!

If you want to join in, PM me and I will send you my real name for you to add me!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 17/01/2012 22:02

Oh oh oh oh oh I would love to be in that, what fun! I have actually left FB temporarily to go and sulk have an existential crisis, but when I am back I am all over that thing!

I am going to PM you though, hang on ...

Hedgepig · 17/01/2012 22:15

midori 3lb is fab well done glad you are getting good value out of your SW consultant
I'm mildly pissed off told DH I was popping to Tesco he kindly said he would o but he's got me muller corners with chocolate balls rather than muller lights with sprinkles. I prefer the corners but am trying to watch the syns to get to target by the end of Feb. I can't be too peed off cos he did go to the shop. Also checked the turkey mince 3 syns per 100g raw and I had 150 g so 4.5 syns so not bad and it was dead yummy
Bed time , big meeting tomorrow with a buffet lunch argggg

grinningbee · 17/01/2012 22:31

I'm baaaaaaack Grin

Gave the laptop my best Paddington Bear stare, and it started up.

H has been asleep since he finished his dinner. Isn't that nice and sociable Hmm. He's been asleep since just after 9.

Debka and Midori well done on fab losses this week.

Our friend had her biopsy today. H took her as her own would not. While they were waiting H said they saw some very ill looking souls. M turned to him and said "I'm going to end up like that, aren't I". Sad. It's heartbreaking.

Anyway. On a lighter note (literally, hee hee!) I am off to the council tomorrow as we've had a heads up on a house becoming empty in the village. We are 99% sure it's one of the two that were mentioned to us the other week, so we are in the running anyway but as anyone will tell you, if you don't ask, you don't get. Worst they can do is tell me to bog off. I'd rather H went, but he wants me to do it. I am such a scaredy cat!
