Just in case anyones up and about early.

Don't email anyone, just post your weight (ideally for me!) or if you can't face it, just post your loss.

Good Luck and I'll e-mail you all the chart on Thursday with our progress.

I managed to exercise three times this week, which baring in mind the state of my house and my gym-phobia was pretty good! On Tuesday I went to the gym for an hour , On Wednesday I went to an Aquafit class and today I walked round our local park (6 miles!) so I guess that might help. Don't feel any different though and am scared to look at the scales in case it doesn't look good!

hullabaloo · 15/01/2006 22:36

JG - GO SWIMMING! You'll feel much better afterwards and you'll be really proud of yourself. Tell yourself that you can do something you REALLY want to do after you've been swimming. eg. If you go swimming you get to read a magazine or have a treat ( diet friendly of course)

JenumGeranium · 15/01/2006 22:39

Thanks hullabaloo!

I WILL go swimming! You have spurred me on and I WILL do it!

bubblerock · 16/01/2006 09:17

JG - Get your butt down to that pool!!!!!

JenumGeranium · 16/01/2006 10:10

Thanks for that bubblerock! I need a good kick up the backside!

I am going to go swimming later when DH gets in from work. I was going to go this morning once I had dropped ds2 at playgroup, but he isnt very well so we are currently at home watching Cbeebies!

I am not feeling that great today - feel like I should just give up cos I am so lousy at losing weight - maybe I should just resign myself to being a fatty. Even if I am good and dont eat rubbish I still somehow dont manage to lose any weight - its very disheartening .

Ok i'm feeling v sorry for myself today (lack of sleep me thinks!)

busywizzy · 16/01/2006 12:01

JG, don't give up - we're all here to help and encourage you and anyway, I'd miss your funny chatter.

There's a size 10 in there fighting to get out (that's what I keep telling myself anyway) and even if she never quite surfaces, you'll be fitter and healthier than you are now.

Please stay with us, take each day at a time and go swimming today as the first step to continuing. Who knows what the scales hold for you tomorrow

JenumGeranium · 16/01/2006 12:06

Thank you for your encouraging words busywizzy!

Think I am feeling bad about pigging out at the weekend. I just love my food so much!

I will really try again and as you say - take it one day at a time!

I have a couple of family do's in March so I am hoping to have lost at least a little weight by then! This is spurring me on!

Thanks again!

me23 · 16/01/2006 12:22

I've had such a bad weekend and feel v.disappointed with myself.
I ate so much had a pizza on sat and greasy chips onion rings and falafel wrap on sunday.
wish i could control myself more! I really want to lost this weight but i do stupid things like pigging out on weekend.
I've has v.stressful week with relationship probs which hasnt helped but i shouldn't be making excuses.
hope i havent gained loads this week

JenumGeranium · 16/01/2006 12:33

You sound like me me23! I get disappointed in myself too - but I only have myself to blame!

I do really want to lose weight - honest! But like you I end up pigging out!

Anyway, this is the start of a new week - so I am going to put the past few days behind me and carry on and try to have a wee bit more willpower!

I am debating whether to sign up for the Cancer Research Race for Life - have never run in my life! But it may spur me on!

bubblerock · 16/01/2006 12:40

If you know that your weakness is eating at weekends could you change your own weigh day to a friday, decide that treats such as takeaways, alcohol etc.. are just for weekends and stick to your diet for the rest of the week. I think you just need to take away the feeling of guilt otherwise it will seem impossible to keep it up for more than a couple of weeks and you'll fail every time.

As busy said - stick with it, we'd miss you on the board. I think each of us are going to struggle at some stage of this but if we keep each other going we can get there! ... feel the love in the room... LOL

JenumGeranium · 16/01/2006 12:43

Oh yes I do feel the love bubblerock! Lol!

That may be an idea actually - to change weigh in day to a Friday.

Not great weighing yourself on a monday after a heavy weekend!

tangerinecath · 16/01/2006 12:47

JG & Me23 - you guys sound how I feel!

I had a really bad week at work last week so on Friday night I went out and drank loads of vodka - but with diet coke of course !! I also boogied hard - must have looked a right sight with my 38G uber boobs bouncing around

DH & I shared a bottle of wine on Saturday night, got the munchies and cracked open the big tin of Celebrations that's been lurking in the kitchen since Christmas. Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

I'm eating my 5 portions of fruit & veg every day though and am feeling better for it.

Hang in there girls, we will all have bad times, but with perseverance we'll get there in the end.

I haven't had much time to read this thread this week but tomorrow - new thread, new week so a new start for all of us

(tangerinecath shoves a stray mini Milky Way into her mouth while no-one's looking)

bubblerock · 16/01/2006 14:38

You could always try this diet ! It's £5.99 at amazon but the description was better at bol.

me23 · 16/01/2006 15:50

thanks for your support girls, just got back from shops\couldn't resist weighing myslef in boots, I'm 10st 6lb which means I've gained 2lb back from last weeks weight loss.
I think the friday weigh in is quite a good idea, will try that i think.
I think my problem apart from being a greedy cow is I haven't got a clue how to cook or the energy feel tired all the time.

JenumGeranium · 16/01/2006 16:36

Thanks for that link bubblerock!

It was very interesting and I may even buy it as it def sounds like what I need!

TaiTai · 16/01/2006 17:13

The Weekends Off Diet is featured in Red magazine this month, so you could always buy that instead. It sounds very sensible and manageable, although it recommends you limit yourself to two small treats per day. So, no green light to binge at the weekend, unfortunately.

TaiTai · 16/01/2006 17:14

I should specify that's two small treats per day at the weekend only, no treats allowed during the week.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 16/01/2006 17:15

I dont think my weight loss will be impressive this week! Infact my scales are saying that ive put on 6lb!!!! could this be because I have come on??????? I have been being good all week although slipped over the weekend.

JenumGeranium · 16/01/2006 20:13

Ok I didnt manage to get to the swimming pool today - but I had a real bad night and couldnt be bothered to be honest!

But, I have (well DH has) put together my Air Walker thing! I have done about 20 mins on that tonight. PLus I bought a couple of videos that I may try this week - Helens dance workout and Geri Yoga. Cheesy perhaps I know but they were only £1 each from the charity shop!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 16/01/2006 20:17

Girls.... i need some motivation - and pretty damn quick!

MUST get on the wagon again tomorrow, but just dont know if i can face it! Have done nothing but eat CRAP all week - bloody PMT and AF, but am starting to feel better now....

COME ON - MOTIVATE ME!

JenumGeranium · 16/01/2006 20:19

Not sure I'm the right person for you. I have no motivation whatsoever!

Sorry!

JenumGeranium · 16/01/2006 20:20

Right ok lets start that again!

COME ON!!!!!!

We can do it!

We are gonna feel better in our clothes, be able to have more choice in what we wear! We will look and feel better in ourselves!

Blimey, I've nearly convinced myself there!

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 16/01/2006 20:22

JARM - think of the summer, when its really hot and you can see people walking around in t-shirts and shorts and you are walking around sweltering in your jeans because you feel you are too big to be confortable in shorts/short skirt and vest top...

Or on your summer hols, when you get the piccies back... if you continue doing fab on your diet you wont get any "omg look at the state of me" photos

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 16/01/2006 20:23

nice one Tamba - that is EXACTLY what i need to hear.... why does PMT/AF automatically make me reach for chocolate?!

JenumGeranium · 16/01/2006 20:23

I have a family do in March, so this is going to be my motivation I think!

I just want my mum and dad and sister to be amazed by my weight loss! Fat chance!
