GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

HI, just wondering if I can join in? Am on day 2 of SS (third time around including a lighter life attempt). I too have done well in the past but made the mistake of jumping straight into food from sole source. It will not happen this time but third time around is much harder and am going to need support...especially at the weekends!

GoingForGoalWeight · 11/01/2012 15:03

Hi Claire

Welcome! :)

I'm here a lot

Good luck

Day 4 nearly over for me and am feeling really good. Loads of energy and not hungry at all, just that horrible nasty taste in my mouth, which can only mean one thing...... KETOSIS!!

Took my friend to see my CD counsellor today, and she has started also.

GoingForGoalWeight · 11/01/2012 19:17

hard day for me today but I am still with it.

I know tomorrow will mean ketosis and it will be easier.

Welcome claire and well done overtiredmum !!

GoingForGoalWeight · 11/01/2012 19:30

Hey fortynotfat :)

Do you have any other planned meals/celebrations on your Cambridge journey?

OP posts:
Overtiredmum · 11/01/2012 19:58

Saying that, am bloody freezing tonight! Might have to sit in work with my coat and gloves on!

Forty - why is it, when you diet you always gets invited out??? Friends contacted us to see if we fancied dinner out next weekend - normally I'd jump at the chance, but I'm ashamed to say that I made up a pack of lies and asked to postpone, purely because I need more time before I think about eating - is that bad????

fortynotfat · 11/01/2012 20:14

I am hoping to have 3 straight weeks as no plans then we have another family get together and then my ds birthday but hope to just do a sleepover so will not involve going out.

I have porridge in the morning, shake for lunch and soup evening. I like the leek and potato and chicken and mushroom best. Have not tried bars yet.

So that is my aim for 3 weeks.

We do have a fairly busy social life usually but I need to crack this. I am usually ok dieting for a few days then a meal out or something leads to a several day binge. I need to conrtol and find a way to make it fit in with my life.

I am pleased I have turned it round after this weekend. this thread really helps . Keep on posting.

I almost said out loud today 'FUCK THE FAT' as I was leaving the office Grin

fortynotfat · 11/01/2012 20:15

yes overtired avoidance may be for the best in the short term.

I keep saying to myself ' this is not forever - lose the weight then I can get on with my life much happier, healthier and in nicer clothes'

tiredofbeingfat · 12/01/2012 16:24

Hi all :)

i hope you dont mind me joining? I am on day 2 of Cambridge diet and feeling bleughhh :( I done LL 6 years ago and i know the first week is the hardest! its just getting the motivation to carry on! The diet does work (i lost 4 1/2 stone in 12 weeks before) Mentally i know how hard it is going to be!!! I think talking to people in same situation may help X

Overtiredmum · 12/01/2012 17:53

Day 5 and feeling good!!

Welcome Tired!

tiredofbeingfat · 12/01/2012 18:13

the sluggish feeling passes?? im hoping once i reach ketosis that happens?

Overtiredmum · 12/01/2012 18:40

Yes, ketosis usually kicks in around Day 4 I think, well it does for me. I've been quite fortunate this time that I seem to have had a smooth transition, no bad days so far at all, although I was suffering from flu and feeling rather poorly last week, so maybe I have just recovered from that, and so feel better.

How much do you have to lose this time Tired?

GoingForGoalWeight · 12/01/2012 18:47

I'M FEELING FAB :)

Rather surprisingly as yet another disappointment we faced this evening regards respite for my SN DS.

Nice Lady but completly overbooked...also I objected to yet another stranger comyng to mu house, for a fucking snoop to see how my DS is at home so respite provider can learn. A big fat NO from me NO MORE 14 years of being on trial and snooped on, Im standing my ground.

Oh well,,but no desire to scoff

YAYYYY

Onwards and upwards - or hopefully inwards!!

GoingForGoalWeight · 12/01/2012 20:06

Overtiredmum

KETOSIS I'M LOVING IT

GoingForGoalWeight · 13/01/2012 15:08

Still feeling good. Feel as if I've 'woken up' out of a deep food stupor. I'm feeling proud of myself for getting this far. Feeling a little more emotional but that is bound to happen as I no longer self medicate (put myself in a state of denial), with the legal drug - food.

Goal will be acheived THIS YEAR!

So exciting and if i continue to not feel hunger I will definately get there..I cannot wait for my transformation and calorie counting, very strictly after maintenance.

I also realise there is a veery strong possibility I may regain some weight in maintenance but gaining control via eating healthily and actually being able to move my body - play sports - will help.

Overtiredmum · 13/01/2012 17:26

Well done Going!

I too have had a marvelous day. Feel absolutely amazing, not hungry at all. My hair is gleaming, my skin looks great and I don't have that horrible bloated feeling! I managed to do the food shop today without any feelings of "I wish I could have that...." Am working all weekend 12pm to 6pm both days, so that makes the weekend easier for me, as DH will do all the cooking etc whilst I am out. So, thats Day 6 nearly done.

Going, I have never gained weight when switching over from CD to WW, I usually go on to continue to lose weight. I usually go up to Step 3, which is 1000 and then switch over - usually still have one supplement a day, and making allowance in my points for it, until I gradually drop them all together. It should work the same for you with calorie counting.

Well, the nice pair of Next size 16 jeans which I purchased a month ago will be in need of shrinking soon - I can actually take them off without unbuttoning them!!! Grin

slalomsuki · 14/01/2012 11:23

Well I have stuck to the diet pretty much now for 2 weeks with one major wobble. So far it's not as bad as I thought and lost 5lbs in week 1 and 4lbs by my reckoning but the weigh session with the counsellor is on Tuesday so will know then.

Overtiredmum · 14/01/2012 14:50

Well done Slalomsuki!

Its a beautiful day outisde, not a cloud can be seen, but bloody freezing! I had to come to work today and made sure DH defrosted the car for me beforehand, he wasn't best pleased!!

Day 7 for me and I feel really good.

Hope everyone else is doing OK. Will check in again later.

GoingForGoalWeight · 14/01/2012 19:11

Overtiredmum I typed a long reply last night, clicked and it disappeared :(

Weigh day today and I've lost 4lb 8oz :)

I feel so good! the Xambridsge diet elevates our mood and makes us happier with more energy :)

11 and a 1/2 LB gone
Grin

I do not even want food AT ALL

I'm dreaming of exercising, sawimming etc in the near future. I will buy a bycycle too, PT for running.

Your plan Overtired for maontenance is fab, will do similar :)
