2012 - New Years Day - The Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - Weight loss

GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Have forms signed (after several days with a charge of 20 quid...) - off to see councellor in the week all being well - might get started by next weekend (gulp)

Overtiredmum · 15/01/2012 12:29

Good news Cockneydad, it will all be worth it! Definitely start to reduce your carbs from now, and to increase your water.

Well done, Going, fabulous weightloss - is that two weeks now?

I am on Day 8 and can't even describe how I feel. Bundles of energy, I feel almost glowing! Got home from work last night, spent some time with the kids, DH cooked himself dinner last night once the kids had gone to bed. I felt an urge to chew on some chicken, but had a glass of water, and then at 9.30 decided it would be better if I just went to bed. Have never been to bed at that time on a Saturday night, let alone sober!! Woke up feeling great.

I am back in the office again today until 6pm. I don't get paid for weekend work, but get time in lieu, so next weekend will be a 4 day-er for me.

Its damn cold out, but glorious!

GoingForGoalWeight · 15/01/2012 17:26

Thanks :)

GoingForGoalWeight · 16/01/2012 15:31

Still freezing brrrr. I weighed myself yesterday in the morning and scales read 25 stones 13lb. It's coming off, I feel good, I do not care about food, I'm fantasising about being healthier and going into my fave clothes shop in tow. I want to wear a size 12 skirt and blouse. Sexy heels n tights, maybe

WOOOOOOOHOOOO

Where is everyone? :)

Helloooooo

Overtiredmum · 16/01/2012 17:41

Hi Going, I am back! Well done, you are doing great! So, how much is that in total now?

My first weigh-in tomorrow morning after 9 days - haven't been tempted to weigh myself as yet, especially since I know my scales are 3lbs out.

My DH has decided he wants me and DD to have lunch with him on Friday since I have a day off, not sure what I will do because he wants KFC, so I will probably just get it for them and sit there with a nice big cup of black coffee. I still haven't been tempted to eat anything at all, even over the weekend I kept thinking I'll just have a small chicken salad, but I just ended up with a glass of water and going to bed extremely early!! The extra sleep has been nice though.

I haven't really made any goals as yet. I am off to Scotland at easter to see my best friends, whom I haven't seen for 2 years, so am determined to be a couple of stone slimmer by then if I can. Then we're due to be having a spring/summer BBQ on 3 June, so I am currently bidding on a lovely size 12 maxi dress on Ebay, am hoping I am not pushing my luck!

My main motivation though is definition my two DC. I want to be able to run around with them and have fun with them, rather than getting puffed out after 5 minutes and sitting down watching DH have all the fun with them.

Overtiredmum

Hi :)

Officially I've lost 11.1.5LB gone - had heavy TOTM (sorry TMI)

9 day weigh will be fabuloss :)

Are you getting hungry Overtiredmum?

You have some seriously fab things planned, to lose weight for them :)

OP posts:
Overtiredmum · 16/01/2012 18:51

Nope, not hungry at all. I have found that the only times I have thought about food was generally more habit than anything. Like when DS comes home from school, preparing him and DD a snack and I would have some too. Generally, that sort of thing.

Working evenings, I am very lucky in that I am taken away from the situation of everyone sitting down to dinner. I find preparing food for DH and the kids absolutely no problem, get no urges to sneak a bite or anything.

The only problem with this diet, and I can feel it sneaking back in now, is feeling fearful of eating something when you have gone without. I am actually following SS+, so am allowed a small meal, but I find for me that to take food totally out of the equation alot easier. I have been having slightly more milk than SS+ allows for though, so I am not too worried about having less calories, than having the 4 supplements. When I started CD the first time round, about 2 years ago, SS was actually 3 supplements and no milk at all, so it has changed slightly.

This is a diet you totally have to be in the right place mentally to do. I have done it before only half-hearted and although I didn't fail, I did give up really early into it after losing a stone. This time, I feel so prepared for it and know I will succeed.

GoingForGoalWeight · 16/01/2012 18:56

:)

Maintenance for me is being strict with calories and exercising. I do not ever want to get so huge agai
Doffs cap at Overtired I can't do smalll meals - unless in a small bucket Grin

OP posts:
Overtiredmum · 16/01/2012 19:08

Yes, hopefully for me, DD will be starting nursery a couple of sessions a week after easter, which will free up time for me to actually have some time for myself and do some exercise - at the moment, even without taking into account my damaged knee, there is little or no time for me to even think about exercise.

I'd love to start running, but at the moment think my health with be in serious danger from my large breasts!!

GoingForGoalWeight · 16/01/2012 19:16

Overtiredmum I have to say I have total empathy, (on the breast front). LOL Grin
I cannot remember how running feels and I did jog about when i was a teenager.

I will get a personal trainer this time and jog/run together.

My Spanish holiday is booked for 22nd October, 2012 in Majorca, Alcudia! Thomas Cook, great deal and it is an all inclusive. But I shall take Tetra packs. No food for me as I wil be around 13 stones then.
I shall keep Cambridging :)

OP posts:
Overtiredmum · 16/01/2012 19:36

Don't restrict yourself too much. Being abroad you will be able to eat lovely fresh fish, with salads etc, being on holiday doesn't have to be about over-indulging. I certainly agree it will be easy to have your packs during the day, but certainly enjoy an evening meal.

No holiday abroad for us this year. Will definitely be making up for it next year though!

GoingForGoalWeight · 16/01/2012 21:38

I haven't had a holiday since 1988. I've saved for 3 years. Alright for some, onky missing one year LOL

OP posts:
Overtiredmum · 16/01/2012 21:57

Nooooooo, we haven't been abroad for 7 years, last year and the year before we had a few days away at Center Parcs, but apart from that, we've had nothing else. Too much debt. Scotland will be our only break this year, then save for next year - hopefully!

GoingForGoalWeight · 16/01/2012 22:02

Onwards and downwards...:)

OP posts:
gloriana · 16/01/2012 23:11

Hi there, I've read through all your fab posts and you are all motivating me massively! I start SS tomorrow (did it once before 2 years ago) and have 2 stone to lose. I am really excited at reading your posts especially GFGW and wish everyone good luck. Will be back tomorrow to see how people are getting on and probably in need of some support!

GoingForGoalWeight · 16/01/2012 23:19

Welcome gloriana

Have you got a motivating goal to work towards? :)

I got furry teeth, i'm still freezing but hot cheeks.

About to have my last shake of the day.

Keep posting peeps.

fortynotfat where are you?

OP posts:
clairebear123 · 17/01/2012 10:05

Well, first weigh in yesterday and 9lb off!! Feel great although am still having a mental argument with myself about how long I should keep going and is there a better way. The 9lb is keeping me motivated for now!

fortynotfat · 17/01/2012 12:08

fantastis claire !!

I am still hanging in. Feeling positive. Had a healthn problem so having a few days off work.

I still will not be fat and forty - onwards and downwards

gloriana · 17/01/2012 14:14

Well I've started - porridge for breakfast and have had loads of cups of hot water this morning. Seems to fill the space that likes tea with milk. Am just about to have a soup.

GFGW - no goal specifically but I would like to look nice for the summer. Sweetheart DS2 told me that he didn't want me not to be squidgy any more as I wouldn't be as cuddly :)

Fortynotfat - hope you are feeling well. I do love your mantra!

gloriana · 17/01/2012 14:15

First weigh in for me today and 8lbs here!! Am really pleased, 28lbs to go!

Going, I know exactly what you mean about furry teeth - even the back of my throat feels furry (no rude comments please Grin!!) Am also freezing cold and tonight I had my very first comment "are you on a diet, you look like you've lost weight!!" Definitely lost it in my face.

Welcome Gloriana! If you're looking for motivation, then this is definitely the place to be.

Forty welcome back, hope you are ok, and feeling better soon.

Claire - well done on the 9lbs, thats excellent!
