I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Hi all

Glad you feel better today soontobeslim.

I started last year at close on 21 stone doing low carb, sort of did it on and off, and when I finish with this, its maybe someting I can look at again, but to be honest it was too easy for me to dip in and out. I did loose some weight as off last Monday when I started this I was 18.10. But to my mind, its about doing a reboot, learning not to relay on food for comfort, just feel like I have lost the plot as far as food is concerned. My portion sizes were HUGE, just not normal.

Back later, gotta feed my DD

Hi everyone,

First day for me today. Doing SS+.

Did CD a few years ago and lost just over 4 stone in 9 weeks, but this and that reason, put it all back on again.

This time I mean business. The weight has to go!

I prefer soups to shakes although have the tetras as well for out and about.

Has the Op been back as followed her from the start of the thread for inspiration but she seems to have gone?

5inthebed · 05/05/2012 14:41

Oh, and my CD person seems to be cheap considering everyone elses. She charges £38 a week for 21 packs.

Juma · 05/05/2012 14:47

Hi Ladies - I get the feeling there are going to be some great weight losses amongst you wonderful ladies (& cockneydad). Hope you're feeling better soon2bslim,which products are your favourites?
I got a few Ketostix from my consultant and just being able to see that I'm in Ketosis now and again just gives an extra boost. Does anyone else use them?
Jx

Mumto6 · 05/05/2012 15:53

Wow that that's an amazing weightloss in such a short amount of time Elise!!!!!

DucketyDuckDuck · 05/05/2012 16:09

Hi all,

I was wondering what happened to the OP too...anyone know?

Hi Juma! I have the stick thingy whatsits, not tried one yet, will save it for a boost like you say.

I am child free today, usually means stuffing face and watching telly. Been and had big bubble bath and done all the girlie things (eyebrows etc) which to be honest, I had stopped doing - I think I gave up on myself.

Had my meal bar, watching trashy telly, life is OK today.

Positive thoughts to you all, have a good night.

Mumto6 · 05/05/2012 17:32

I use the ketone sticks just to make sure I'm in the right place most of the time I am but sometimes, today for instance I drop out of it. No idea why.

Hi 5inthebed I hope your getting on well so far, first days are bad enough without them being on a Saturday.

Soon2bslim- I was the same first few days, very snappy and irritable kids and hubby gave me a wide berth, all better now though. I actually have to remind myself to drink my shakes (just had my second) waters my problem, I really don't like it unless I've just exercised or if it hot.
Nothing worse to me than being cold then drinking cold water.

soon2Bslim · 05/05/2012 17:53

hey everyone hope you have all had a good day, i am doing really well and feeling fine surprisingly, i havent even really felt hungry or if my belly starts to rumble i just completely block the thought of food out of my head, i wasnt like this the first time i tried it, think its a good thing though.... Juma i always order 21 packs of the chocolate shake, i tried the porridge and didnt like it at all, soups have never been something i enjoy, the chocolate shake really tastes like a nice treat when i drink it especially when its warmed up, almost like a nice hot chocolate!!. I feel less stressy today mumto6 so i know i can feel better about what tomorrow brings as its getting easier and easier. I just think if i dont drink my 4 litres each day the weight wont come off as well so thats what makes me drink every last drop cos i soo want to lose as much as poss each week, i never drink water unless im on this diet so i know how u feel about it. Have a good evening everyone x

Juma · 05/05/2012 19:14

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good Saturday.
5inthebed - do you mind me asking, after you lost your 4 st (wow), did you do maintainence at all? This is the bit that concerns me most. If so, did you come off the products altogether?
Sounds like you're having a good day Duckety! A bit of pampering can do the trick alright!
Soon2Bslim - I love the choc shakes too, couldn't stomach the porridge! You're not really drinking 4 litres of water a day are you? Did you mean pints?
Mumto6 - I use the Summer Berry powder in the water - makes it so much easier to take.
Stay good everyone
Jx

5inthebed · 05/05/2012 19:31

Juma, came off them altogether. Not the best thing to do as I just stuffed my face and the weight came swiftly on as a result.

soon2Bslim · 05/05/2012 20:22

Juma i did mean 4 litres!! lol, dont they say to drink at least 3?? i just bought a 2litre bottle of water and as long as i drink two bottles of it a day i know ive more than i need, it does help when i start to feel the rumbles coming on, just swig a whole load of water!. I keep thinking hmmm how nice this would taste right now and how i would like to eat this but it just old habits trying to throw me, i dont need it, ive got everything my body needs in these shakes so its just the thought of it, i will not fail this time, everytime i think about eating something nice i just push it aside and picture myself in the clothes ive always wanted to wear, how good i would feel on the inside and outside, cant wait to get to that point in my life!!.

Juma · 05/05/2012 22:41

Hi Soon to be VERY slim! in the programme it says drink at least 2.25 litres (4 pints) a day, but if you can drink more then it can only be good for you!
Jx

DucketyDuckDuck · 06/05/2012 09:35

My water intake has increased as the week has gone on. I struggled with half a litre on Monday, I'm up to at least 3 litres now, and have already had 1.5 today!

My niggle is the weighing in part - I'm scared (of success?). Whenever I diet before I set myself these targets, and then if I fail, I seem to loose momentum - I think its called self-sabotage. I am thinking about weighing in maybe every five weeks. I will on top of the world for a few hours if I weigh in tomorrow, and will then start self doubting.

What do you think? Opinions/suggestions all greatfully received.

Good Luck to you all, keep going.

xxxx

DucketyDuckDuck · 06/05/2012 09:36

That would be GRATEFULLY received....spelling oh dear.

Juma · 06/05/2012 11:54

Hi Duckety, If the weigh in is a potential problem for you, I don't see why just doing it once a month should be a problem. It's a shame that we look to the scales for confirmation of a good week. Even if the scales don't register a loss it is possible to lose inches - I've read it on here several times. If we could just say to ourselves 'Yes I've had a good week sticking to the plan' and be happy with that - but no - if the scales don't show it , it's ruined:(
At least you've identified where your potential weakness is.
Good luck
Jx

5inthebed · 06/05/2012 13:12

Ducety, I think the reps need to weigh you weekly but you can always ask yours not to let you kinow how you are doing for a bit.
I know what you mean though. The first week is always a good loss, the second week not so much and it can be so disheartening.

Day 2 for me, slept really well last night considering. Had a sneaky jump on the scales this morning, lost 5lbs which i think is totally wrong, so will stay off until I get properly weighed on Friday.

Was going to have porridge for breakfast but my bloody kettle has died so had a tetra instead. Spicy tomato soup for lunch and I've nearly drank my days allowance of water, so going well with that.

Think I'm going to pee myself thin Grin

soon2Bslim · 06/05/2012 20:15

Hey everyone, hope uve had a good sunday?? I on the other hand have become weak already and it was only my second day in :( my hubby cooked my favourite meal and i just couldnt resist Angry ive warned him not not to do any such thing again until ive passed my 3rd day cos i will be fine then, not letting it get me down i will carry on tomorrow like nothing happened and not beat myself up to much about it, still got til friday when i get weighed to get into ketosis, even resorted to putting up little post it notes around the kitchen reminding me why im doing this and not to cheat again!, hope uve all had a better day than me x

5inthebed · 06/05/2012 21:18

Oh Soon, how horrible of your DH to sabotage you like that Sad

I'm on day 2 as well, but have managed to stick with it only just. Could kill for a pork roast.

Good luck for the next few days, you can do this.

KateSpade · 07/05/2012 07:54

I would like you know your opinion on these as its alot cheaper than the cambridge diet or slim fast.

What do you think?

soon2Bslim · 07/05/2012 09:06

5inthebed it was kinda my fault to, he said o ur on ur diet arent u?? and it just put the thught of food right in my head and i really wanted to eat it then :( ive told him not to make that comment again he knows im on a diet and how much i wana stick to it and as of today i WILL!! Well done for sticking to it, so is ur weigh in day on friday to?? How much did u weigh at the start if u dont mind me asking? Good luck to u to, WE can do this x

DucketyDuckDuck · 07/05/2012 09:39

Hi all

I don't know, my DH seems to be taking particular pleasure in his food, but I don't know if that me being sensitive. If a meal had been cooked for me? Would have been cross.

KateSpade - I am doing Exante, which works out at about £25 a week (including delivery). I like it.

Decided not to get weighed today, worried about my reaction and will wait til I feel ready. So I am now starting my 8th day.

I think the only shake I am not sure about is Strawberry. I like all the soups/shakes/bars and porridge particularly. Once I realised that they are never gonna taste like "real" food I was fine. I purposely don't jazz them up with herbs and spices (not yet anyway). I want to save these tricks til it gets really hard. Also like the fact that bland, goes back to my "reboot" of food thinking. Going back to basics.

Good Luck to all today.

smokinaces · 07/05/2012 10:12

Stick with it. It does work. I lost 2.5 stone doing it. I put some back on, but reembraced low carb and it fell back off. Do the maintenance. Find a consultant that works for you. And stick with it.

I always hated these diets. But they are a great starting block, but you need to remember your life and woe will change forever. Go back to eating crisps and chocolate and high carb meals and it will go back on

DucketyDuckDuck · 07/05/2012 11:09

Thanks smokinaces - I want to go back to low carb after this, I did have some success with it.

So, haven't weighed myself, but got into some smaller trousers and a top, and have had to adjust bras as they are getting abit big!

So thats positive news.

5inthebed · 07/05/2012 17:10

Third day today, and it has been VERY trying.

Went to my sisters house and the kids had a McDonalds for dinner. Then we went to the park and took them for an ice cream afterwards. Nightmare.

But I have stuck with it and drank my body weight in water. I don;t struggle with water luckily, but I am starting to miss a bit of fizz. Might try fizzy water.

Well done on the inch loss Duckety.

Soon2B, have PMed you my weight, too embarrassed to put it on here.

Kate, the price of that looks great, but I would be dubious about where it was coming from and if it did the same as the others you pay more for.
