2012 - New Years Day - The Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - Weight loss

GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Ha Ha! DDD, I certainly do - it was the Co-op Pop man who used to fling the door open and shout 'Store pop!'. and I remember never being able to open the bottles as they had those black screw tops Wink
How are you doing?
Jx

DucketyDuckDuck · 02/05/2012 17:31

Not bad, considering DD is troughing sausages and spaghetti hoops, which I would usually lurve to finish off....

Tired, but think thats maybe more to do with disrupted sleep than diet. Making sure I have all the water, and just had my bar. Tomato Soup for later.

I am being cautiously positive!

How about you?

Laura1403 · 02/05/2012 19:00

Day 2 nearly over im finding it such a struggle at night i felt fine when i woke up just been getting worse through the day. I keep reading through how well everone else is doing to give me some motivation. Hoping i wil feel better by the end of the week!

Juma · 03/05/2012 09:44

Morning Laura - stick with it! after day 4 the hunger should subside. I think the timing of the shakes/soups is crucial, but I always make sure that my last one (always a choc shake) is never before 7.30, then I can make through the evening just with cups of tea/coffee. A good book helps - I'm reading .....wait for it.......The Hunger Games. An enjoyable read - a bit addictive rather like the Twilight series.
Well I had my week 5 weigh in last night and lost 2lbs which brings me to my stone !!! So I am pretty pleased with that. Just 15lbs to go :)
Good luck everyone

Hi all I am on day 4, I do feel better today, not achy or tired. I don't have first shake til lunchtime, next at about 4, then last at around 7.30. It seems to work, but then I have never wanted food til lunchtime anyway. So first thing I have a bottle of water and black coffee.

Can't believe how not hungry I am. Laura stick with it, I am only a couple of days ahead, and I feel better. Although did put an extra duvet on bed, been feeling very cold, that seemed to make a difference to the night I had.

Juma - fantastic weightloss, 15 pounds left WHOOO!

My hubby is getting some fantastic meals, I have gone all cheffy. Loads of effort going into his food....he can't believe it.

Bye for now!xx

soon2Bslim · 03/05/2012 12:23

Good luck to everyone else, hop[e to see more weight losses soon!

Laura1403 · 03/05/2012 12:40

KateSpade · 03/05/2012 13:50

Thinking about doing the Cambridge Diet. Im trying to do low carb, however things i didn't even know were carbs actually are carbs.

So far i know, its a shake diet, £40.00 a week, thats it, anymore insights?

cockneydad · 03/05/2012 19:08

Hey Katespade - it's £2.25 a product and 3 or 4 products a day to start with - verly low calorie and low carb in the first stage - there is lots of info on the cambridge website.

KateSpade · 03/05/2012 20:21

If you've been doing it Cockney dad, would you recommend long-term, or just a couple of weeks for a weight-loss boost?

cockneydad · 03/05/2012 20:33

Hi Katespade - been on it 3 months lost 2 stone 12! It works, tough to start with though!

cockneydad · 03/05/2012 20:34

I think its better for the long term to be honest, as it helps to break bad habits!

Mumto6 · 03/05/2012 21:31

Definitely agree with it helps break bad habits, I didn't realise how much I actually picked when cooking when I had to consciously tell myself not to put it in my mouth.

Day four, feeling ok still not in ketosis yet.

Kellymarie81 · 03/05/2012 21:47

Had first weigh in tonight. 8lbs off and 6 inches off my body. Really happy bout that. Definitely going to continue on this diet.

Mumto6 · 03/05/2012 22:21

Well done Kelly Marie, that's an amazing weight and inch loss.
I've got my first weigh in tomorrow morning but she said she'll only measure once a month.

KateSpade · 04/05/2012 08:30

It's a similar concept to slim fast isn't it? With three shakes rather than two! I might grab a few & do it over the weekend, until I can do the Cambridge thing!

Juma · 04/05/2012 09:56

MorningAll! Kellymarie 8lbs is a fantastic start well done- what an inspiration!
Kate - Cambridge is the first 'meal replacement' diet I have ever tried - it works - but as well as being low carb it is also very low calorie. I believe, that Slimfast isn't particularly low in calories and that their plan does encourage snacking (my friend used it and lost some weight). I think it's difficult to compare them really - it's what suits you best. But I agree with others when they say that CWP does alter your eating habits (snacking was my downfall).Either way, I think you have to give them a month at least. Good luck whichever you choose.
Good luck with your weigh in Mumto6
Stay strong everyone

DucketyDuckDuck · 04/05/2012 15:22

Hi all

Day 5 here, feeling pretty good. Hope you are all OK. I too have done food shopping for house, I do it online, not sure if thats easier for temptation? It seems to work out cheaper for me, as I am not randomly picking up "offers". Just put away, still not feeling tempted.

Oh, if anyone is doing Exante I had the Vanilla Shake with warm water, it was nice. I was so cold I thought I would try it - it worked out OK.

Bye for now - will probably be back later

Keep going! xx

Mumto6 · 04/05/2012 19:31

I lost 5 and a quarter lbs in 5 days.

FANTASTIC.

soon2Bslim · 04/05/2012 19:59

Have i been accepted into this forum??? Felt a bit ignored! I have started from today and i am soo hungry but i know by monday i will be feeling much better. Hope to hear from someone soon x

DucketyDuckDuck · 04/05/2012 20:12

soon2Bslim - don't feel ignored! xx

I am on Day 5, feeling OK. Must be in that ketosis whatsit, don't feel hungry at all. Its really weird! I usually scoff all DD leftovers, but they have absolutely no attraction to me.

Struggling with feeling cold, but jumpers and duvets help with that!

You will feel better by Monday.

Good Luck, I check in every day at least once.

Mumto6 · 04/05/2012 21:22

Hi soon to be slim. Your very brave starting at the weekend that's always my danger time, I'm learning to get through them though.

KateSpade · 04/05/2012 21:33

I am determined to do it! I popped to the shop, No Chocolate was purchased!

I've been doing my 30 day shred everyday, if i pop into town i will get a few shakes to do untill my next weigh in!

Elise84 · 04/05/2012 22:05
