I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Hi everyone,

Well i met my consultant and she's really nice!! Thanks for all the messages, great to hear from you all. I feel i'm gonna be here a lot in the coming days!!

I'm starting SS+ tomorrow and just wondered if anyone knows what types of quorn and tofu you can have? The book says quorn, e.g. mince but what about other types? Very confused and my consultant has to check!!

Well i'm reading my book and trying to get ready, i feel in a good mindset tho!

X

Juma · 22/04/2012 13:05

Hi everyone - hope the weekend is being kind to you all!
Sorry NewMrsH, I'm very much a carnivore and no nothing of Quorn or Tofu - best of luck for your first day

Hi everyone, i have been reading your posts and decided to join as i am thinking about starting exante diet. Anyone i talk 2 thinks i wont be able to do it and it will be a waste of money. I am going abroad with friends in july and would love 2 lose 2 stone or at least a stone by then. Anyone have any tips? x

lucyloo0907 · 23/04/2012 17:04

Hi Everyone,

I must say these posts have been "Thinspirational" :)

I am on Day 1 of the Cambridge Diet and going well. I am very hungry but just trying to ignore it (doesnt help that my whole family are eating a curry that smells delicious!)

I am finding the shakes very lumpy- would be helpful to hear about any tips on how to get rid of lumps in shakes?? I have the new shaker as well??

Apart from that having a good day and cannot wait to start feeling better.

Be nice to share tips and helpful comments on the CD. xxxxxx

Juma · 23/04/2012 18:27

Hi Lucyloo & Gemsmiles, I'm on week four now, I have 2 stones to lose and have lost 10.5lbs in 3 weeks. Some people on here have lost a lot more than that, but everyone is different. I have no knowledge of the Exante programme I'm afraid, but I've heard it's fairly similar to CWP. I use a stick blender for my shakes and put lots of crushed ice in and you get an amazingly thick shakes (thankyou Cockneydad for this tip). The first few days are a bit weird, but around day four, ketosis will kick in and from then on it gets easier.
Best of luck
Jx

lucyloo0907 · 23/04/2012 20:38

Hi Juma,

Thanks so much for your message!

Funny you should mention about your desired weight loss because I only have
2 stone to lose so am I going to lose it a lot slower? My weight is:

12st lbs

And I want to be 10stone! So got 2st 4lbs to lose by July?

I'll try blending shake in future- thanks for that tip :)

How do you find the diet in general then?

I am feeling very faint, sick and miserable! Hope it gets easier
Although I'm not giving up either way

Xxxxx

twinkle183 · 23/04/2012 22:13

lucyloo how much water are you drinking??? Smile

cockneydad · 23/04/2012 22:33

lucyloo - I felt like death on days 3 an 4 - but it does get better !

gemsmiles · 24/04/2012 09:04

im actually so excited about starting!

Juma · 24/04/2012 09:49

Hi Lucyloo, It's fairly normal to feel a bit headachey - I did but I made sure I drank loads of water then at least you know its not dehydration. I also felt lacking in energy until day four and since then I've been fine. Like Cockneydad says - it does get better:) I think timing is fairly important - try not to go too long between shakes or food. I always delay having my breakfast shake for as long as I can by having two big mugs of tea when I first get up. Also you soon begin to recognise what I call 'head hunger' & 'tummy hunger'. Head hunger isn't real hunger its just that you fancy something 'nice' (for me usually choccy).
It's good to put your goals up here - I'm aiming for 10.7. I know 2 stones isn't really that much, but it's still there to shift - I am not expecting any huge losses, having said that I did lose 6.5lbs in the first week and when I did S/World it took me 4 weeks to lose 7lbs. Everyone's different.
The best of luck, you too Gemsmiles - we can all reach our goals and get on with our lives!!

lucyloo0907 · 24/04/2012 21:25

Hi everyone,

Twinkle183- I'm drinking 5x 50cl bottles of water- which I think is about 4pts?

Cockneydad- well done for getting through them 2 days then does it get any harder? When did you start feeling better!?

Juma- thank you for your helpful comment. So is 2lbs a week what you are finding you are losing (after your initial big weight loss) that is fantastic if that is what you are losing although I must say for a week of not eating a single piece of food 2lbs (for me) doesn't seem a lot as I was eating a lot on WW and lost that easy???? Just wondered if it was because you are not very big that you lose a lot less every week?

You must of been over the moon with your 6.5lbs??

I've locked myself away as my family are eating really nice food ;(

Need to know the difference between head hunger and tummy hunger!!! Definitely something I can do with learning......

micaa · 24/04/2012 23:45

hi ya guys. Juma the wedding was nice i ate but probably not as much as i would have done pre CWP but back on track. im doing ssplus so havin turkey steak in the evening it keeps me going! since 16th April i have lost 8lbs could have been more but its still a loss!
keep going girls and boy its hard but you all worth it! :)

cockneydad · 25/04/2012 07:21

Hi Lucy -I felt a lot better by the end of the first week - then was fine for 2 months, lost 2.5 stone (average loss of 3.6 lb a week). Now I am on Step 2, but so far not lost much in last couple of weeks, seemed to have reached a bit of a plateau. Will stick with for another couple of weeks and see what happens. Longer term, I might consider going SW (I know I can do this without gaining - losses are just very slow) or if all else fails, back to low carb (which I have used successfully in the past). Keep going all !

cockneydad · 25/04/2012 07:27

Hi Micaa - 8 lb in 8 days is loads !!

DucketyDuckDuck · 25/04/2012 08:46

Hi all

Please can I join in? Looking to order Exante in next ten minutes!

Been lurking around reading, and you have all inspired me to do it.

I have been low carbing on and off with some success, this time last year I was nearly 21 stone. Today, I am 18 10. I have tried every diet there is, and probably know more about them than a nutritionist! (Not really, but it feels like it sometimes)

I am an emotional eater, and my thinking is that I need total abstinence to "re-boot" my thinking around food. Never done sole souce, and it almost feels like a relief.

I am on an incredibly tight budget, hence Exante not CD and to be honest, I have had enough of diet consultants (thats just me) and Nurses and Doctors. I have my mindset and then they come along and confuse me!

So off to order and will be back, if you will have me....will probably be a Monday start.

londonboy · 25/04/2012 09:31

hello i am new to this site, all your comments have been very inspring, I have ordered Exante and hope to start tomorrow, i weigh about 22 stones at the moment

Juma · 25/04/2012 11:12

Wow this is great! lots of newbies - welcome on board! I was so pleased I found this forum - it really has helped me to stick to this diet. Micaa! 8lbs is an amazing loss - really pleased for you- that has got to spur you on:o
Hi Cockneydad, hope you're ok, how's the gardening going - too cold up North to get out just yet:( Have you ever tried just calorie counting before?
Lucyloo how are yooo? I go for a bath if my family decide to get a takeaway and they make sure everything is cleared away before I get out :). If I could average out to 2lbs a week, for me that would be good. I'm 5ft6 and I'm one of those people who weigh heavier than you would think to look at me. I have noticed though, that even those people with quite a lot to lose tend to average out at 3 -4lbs.
Hi DucketyDD - I can relate to what you say about 're booting' your approach to food. Part of my reason for chosing CWP was to train myself to accept less food (after doing S/World I found I was eating really large portions of food). Best of luck to you -
Londonboy - welcome, another male (I assume) Good luck:)
My weigh in tonight, fingers crossed
Jx

DucketyDuckDuck · 25/04/2012 12:37

Thanks for the welcome and hello to Londonboy too!

Just gotta get it past the hurdle that is my hubby. He has never had a weight problem, and means well "sensible diet" comments but he just doesn't get it. I am determined.

Pedometer makes a big difference for me. I try and do 10,000 steps a day most days which helps. Just need to make sure I wear it every day, not got it on today (naughty).

Off to softplay now with DD - bye for now.

DucketyDuckDuck · 25/04/2012 17:53

Juma I get that - about the portions. Thats part of the attraction isn't it? Oooo I can have large portions of slimming food, and then we "cheat" but are so used to big portions, what we the have looks normal - does this make sense? Maybe not for everyone, but for me thats what happens.

Just had a wobble about doing this - WHAT is wrong with me?

Whinging to myself about drinking water which I (apparently) hate. I don't....I'm just looking for an excuse.

Not this time No No No.

Back tomorrow, my Exante should have arrived by then.

Please inspire me.

Juma · 25/04/2012 19:50

Hi DDD, just got back from my Week 4 weigh in and it's a loss of 1.5lbs making 12lbs so far. Big effort next week and I should have my stone:)
With regard to the water - with CWP after week 3 you can have a flavouring powder (I use the berry) it's really nice and makes the water drinking a doddle. Don't know if Exante do the same?
I've been measured this week too and have lost 2.5inches off my waist, 1.5inches from my hips and bust stayed the same :). 17.5lbs to go yay!
Inspiration!? well mine comes from thinking about summer hols, the 2 size 12 dresses I've bought specially & just the knowledge that I know I will feel so proud of myself when I reach goal.
We can all do this!!!
Jx

cockneydad · 25/04/2012 20:01

Hey Juma - although I'm a Londoner I live in the north now, so weather has not been permitting!

Londonboy - alright mate ? Nice to have another bloke here !
