GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Juma thats great!!! Well done :)
Its great feeling when you lose, and as my consultant tell me, its difficult but its such a small window out of your whole life to do this diet, a month, 2 months its nothing .... and its hopefully going to change our whole life!!

It's funny Claire but I was just having a conversation with my daughter (who is 23 incidentally) and she was complaining about putting on weight - by this she means 1-2 lbs!! and we were looking at people we knew and it seemed that at the 20yr mark some girls can pile on the weight. It's difficult to say why, there could be hundreds of reasons. But I think in my daughter's case the few extra pounds are because she has found her life partner and have moved into a flat, both with jobs they like, in other words, they are happy! This state of happiness has a lot to answer for lol!
Well I'm building up my resolve to go shopping with my other daughter (18) to the Metro Centre in Gateshead (looking for her a prom dress) Taking a peanut bar with me - wish me luck!
Have a good weekend everyone

Hi , I have done cambridge ona nd off since 07 , i'm normaly on another site , but also found this , I will be rejoining soon , , i'm waiting to get my GP to sign as BMI is 45 , I know i will pay for this , which is wrong as she is doing this in working hours as she gets paid by the Gov .
But hey , I need to lose weight so I will have no choice .
I have met my CDC , she also works full time in another job , so i hope she can put enough time into CD .
How much are people paying for Bars , shakes ?
mine charges 1:85 shakes , bars 2:00 and ready made 2:00 ... which i guess is not so bad . I also go on minimins.com .
Hope everyone is doing well !

Juma · 16/04/2012 08:46

Welcome ExcessB - sounds to me that you're getting a good deal with your products - Good Luck!
Come on everyone - SPILL- how's the weekend treated you all!?

Overtiredmum · 16/04/2012 18:38

Greetings everyone! Keep up the good work, you're all doing really well.

Well, after nearly 2 weeks away, I am pleased to report that, although I didn't lose anything, I haven't gained anything either, so am very happy and am getting back into my calorie counting.

Want to lose another stone if I can - motivation: 10 days all-inclusive to Egypt for March (yes ages away!)

cockneydad · 17/04/2012 07:52

Hi all - been away for a while - was off with work last week for a couple of days. Things going OK - small losses last two weeks (1-2 pounds), coinciding with weekends spent doing a lot of manual work in the garden, which is odd. I seemed to have reached a bit of a plateau in the weight loss, just a little off 2.5 stone. Will see what happens next week. At the end of March I will have to come off SS+, as it will be the 3 month maximum. Hope everyone is OK.

Juma · 17/04/2012 09:50

Hey! Good to hear from Overtired and Cockneydad again
So pleased you sound really in control Overtired - once I've reached my target I'm thinking of calorie counting. Egypt sounds great - even if it is a long way off, it's there, booked, and especially at Christmas will be a brill incentive.
Hope you're well Cockneydad, so pleased you've got the resolve to keep going through a plateau, but 1or2 lbs is still a loss. I'm expecting to drop to 1 or 2 lbs myself - not because I don't stick to the plan but because in every other diet I've tried I've never lost more than an average of half a pound a week. Maybe this time it won't happen - hopefully.
Weigh in for me tomorrow night,
Take care everyone
Jx

Overtiredmum · 17/04/2012 22:00

Well done Cockneydad - a loss is still a loss. Remember, muscle is heavier than fat, so if you're working manually, that may be the reason. You will need to come off SS+, but only for a week and you can then revert back to SS+ of you want.

Juma - let us know how you get on.

cockneydad · 18/04/2012 07:44

Thanks Overtired and Juma - I need to be a bit more patient ! I am thinking that I might go off SS+ and move up for a while (Step 1/2)- if the weight loss goes slower that's fine, it would be good to reduce the cost of the diet a bit though - funds are very tight !

micaa · 18/04/2012 16:58

hi guys i just came across this and i have been reading all the threads from December, really inspirational, and motivating. i did lighterlife in 2008 and lost 3 stones in 3 months, however i put it all back on and more . after loads of failed attempts with Cambridge I started again on Monday and its been 3 days so far - no cheatin, lots of water etc im so pleased cant beleive it. Lets hope i can keep up with this!
Im also off work this week so that might have something to do with it, just stayin indoors and cleaning.

Juma · 18/04/2012 20:16

Hello all & Welcome Micaa,
Week 3 weigh in for me and pleased to report a 1.5lbs loss which I am very pleased with. So thats 10.5lbs down and 19 to go.
It's getting easier now - just head down and keep going
Jx

cockneydad · 19/04/2012 12:11

only 1lb for me this week - but as I am quite active at the moment and am nearly at 3 months, I've gone onto step 2 (basically a little more breakfast and din din!) ! Keep up all the good work all !

Juma · 19/04/2012 13:36

Hi Cockneydad, well done! It will be interesting to see how step 2 goes - best of luck.

Jx

Overtiredmum · 19/04/2012 20:13

Well done Cockneydad - am sure you'll find step 2 a little easier, although it is weird having breakfast for the first few times. Enjoy!

cockneydad · 19/04/2012 20:41

thanks Overtired - I think is was time to come off sole source - I was really beginning to struggle, especially on days when working on building a deck in our garden ! Mid-morning is the worst time for me, so having a little more breakfast should make things a bit easier (I hope!)

Overtiredmum · 19/04/2012 21:19

Mid-morning is a good time for brekkie. I only have breakfast first thing if I know I am not going to be home, or if I am going food shopping straight after school run. Otherwise, I usually have breakfast about 10-10.30. Its caffeine I need to have first thing Grin!

NewMrsH · 19/04/2012 21:45

Hi everyone,

I'm meeting my consultant for the first time tomorrow and i'm so nervous!! Can anyone offer advice on the best way to approach this?

Thanks
X

cockneydad · 20/04/2012 07:55

Hi NewMrsH - don't worry, you will be fine - each consultant has quite a lot of training (it sounds very thorough, my consultants husband is training to do it and I have seen what he has to do) and they would have been through the entire plan themselves. Good luck !

Juma · 20/04/2012 09:40

Hi NewMrsH & welcome. As cockneydad says - don't worry. I found it a bit of a shock to the system for the first few days - but if you think of it as being like a detox it helps. If you've dieted before you'll already know that if your mindset is right you'll be ok :). It will also take the first week to sort out which of the products you like - I really dislike the porridges and don't have them at all, but I know others love them? Cockneydad gave me a great tip when I first started - when you have the shake (choc one is lovely) whizz it up with loads of crushed ice and you get a great thick shake - yum! For me the SpicyTomato & Oriental Chilli soups are the best along with Choc, Butterscotch & Toffee & Walnut Shakes. Now I'm passed week 3, I can have the bars which are ok esp if you are going to be out and about - my faves are the choc mint & the peanut.
Hope this helps & have faith in your consultant they seem to know everything! and they have a good support network behind them.
Take care & Speak soon

micaa · 20/04/2012 10:37

thanks juma, day 5 today and still going strong however i have a wedding to go to tommorow and i hope to stick to diet but if i have to eat i hope it will be salads and chicken. dreading it a bit because im known as a big eater lots of questions, arghh!! but i will try and stick to my guns. I want to do this for a couple of weeks, my birthday is on 10th june and we have booked an afternoon tea party in a hotel so a stone off before then will make me feel better. I hope to either continue with the Cambridge Diet afterwards or do SW. But I just need to focus on one day at a time. well done for all your l osses guys a loss is still a loss.

Juma · 20/04/2012 15:18

Hi Micaa, there's no denying that it's going to be tough on you tomorrow - all I can say is just think how fantastically brilliant you will feel if you can keep to the protein and salad. Remind yourself you've put 5 good days in and that you are in charge!
Sending you lots of positive vibes and enjoy the wedding
