GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Been away for a while and have drifted off this for a week or so. Will get back on to the diet tomorrow.

cockneydad · 13/02/2012 00:18

Bit quiet on here today - just got to the end of day 10 and as of first thing this morning, I was down 10.5 lbs - wallop. Just hope it continues!

Panadbois · 13/02/2012 09:35

Brilliant news cockneydad!
By this morning (6th day), I've lost 6lbs and really happy with that. But, I've decided not to carry on doing Sole Source? I felt lightheaded last night after washing my hair, and was scared about driving afterwards. so had a piece of toast

I've 24 packs left, so will have a shake for breakfast and lunch, and then a low fat tea (slimming world type). So hopefully, the weight will still come off. After this, I'll just eat healthily, and drinks loads of water. I'm converted!!

I have three packs of leek and potato soup and one spicy tomato, that I will not eat, so, if anyone would like to message me with their address I'll pop them in the post for you. Smile

cockneydad · 13/02/2012 11:07

Hi Panadbois - I would speak to your consultant about Sole Source plus - this includes 3 cambridge diet products a day then a small meal which is made of of things from a specific list. You might find that things don't work as well if you don't stick to sole source plus food.

Panadbois · 13/02/2012 12:05

Thanks for the tip. I'll send her an email now. (BTW, how much support are you getting from your consultant? I was expecting mine to give me a call to see how things were going)

cockneydad · 13/02/2012 13:41

I see my consultant once a week to get products, get weighed, have a chat. She is happy for me to contact her in between sessions if I have a problem/question.

Well done all. Cockneydad, well done, 10.5lbs is great. And Panadbois - 6lbs gone forever! Its the weightlosses that make the hard times worth it on CD.

Forgive me CD'ers for I have sinned Sad I knew I would eat this weekend, and I have been good, followed the food list in my book, so not gone over what I could have (apart from the hand of peanuts yesterday) BUT I did have a bottle of red wine yesterday Angry. Not in one go, throughout the course of the day, half a glass here and there. We had a friend stay the weekend and he just kept on topping up my glass(!??) Good thing is thought I felt like absolute shite this morning - still do, so I have learnt a harsh lesson, and I am not ready to give up just yet. Fortunately though, I weighed myself this morning and I have lost another 4lbs, so thats 20lbs in total in 5 weeks. I have no official weigh-in this week due to half term, and to be honest I really thought I would have cheated in a massive way by no, but I really have no desire to at all.

I had a sort through some of my clothes today, and I have a pile of seven pairs of jeans and trousers that no longer fit me, and my DH is forever complaining about my boobs, or rather, the lack of, these days!

I have a short working week this week, only in tonight, tomorrow night and then Wednesday night, and then a few family days at home, so I have every reason to be good. We are catching up with some friends at the weekend, but again, even if we eat out, there is no reason for me to stray. If we go out, I will just have a high protein meal.

Going, hope you're feeling better soon x

Toobig, you're doing great, stick at it, you will get back on track.

Mumof3, Starreaching and Blackout - where are you? let us know how you are doing xx

gloriana · 13/02/2012 20:12

Hi all, some fantastic weight losses on here! I am on week 4 and lost 3lbs last week so very nearly a stone over 4 weeks. Have been really struggling again this week so have moved to SS+ and I am SO looking forward to some food! Please let me know your fave SS+ recipes!

Panadbois - I've been advised to take Senna or ex-lax. Fybogel is the same as the Cambridge one I think...

Going - hope you are feeling better. Diarrhoea is so draining.

mumof3boys01 · 13/02/2012 22:42

Had a few wobbles over the weekend, but managed to stay on track so very pleased with my self, weekday are never normally to bad just the weekend that i struggle with.

PeanutButterCupCake · 14/02/2012 06:06

Hi all. I'm doing lighterlife, can I come in? I hear it's very like CD, meal replacements?
I have 8 stone to loose Blush
Life can't continue like this, my joints ache and I'm so unfit even moving around makes me puff!
Day 2 here, mild headache. Onwards and downwards!

Toobig4school · 14/02/2012 12:06

Hi all hope ur all doing well today.
My consultant told me about Chinese diet tea for constipation and it really does work I would only recommend it when you are near a toilet thoughBlush. You can get it from most Chinese herbal shops.

Toobig4school · 14/02/2012 12:08

Sorry welcome peanut take some painkillers and rest if u can by tomorrow evening you will feel fine it does get easier:)

cockneydad · 14/02/2012 12:43

Struggling today - just ate a load of ham and bacon - really starving - feel better now- kept my carbs down, so shouldn't knock ketosis out. 10 lb in 10 days still not bad !

gloriana · 14/02/2012 16:53

I am really struggling in general too - don't know why. Feel very tired and not good in myself. Am starting on SS+ today though so have some food to look forward to tonight. Was awake quite a lot last night with odd-feeling tummy. Thought I might have to dash for the loo as my stomach was v unsettled but in the end didn't.

Must be more positive - this is worth it and I will feel better!

Overtiredmum · 14/02/2012 17:20

Just signing in for today. Keep going everyone, you are all doing really well, and it will be worth it in the end.

Welcome Peanut!

Going, hope you are feeling better today. x

PeanutButterCupCake · 15/02/2012 10:56

Thankyou Smile

What does the CD consist of?

I'm having 4 packs a day next week I can substitute a shake for a bar, will be lovely to chew, am currently swishing with fluid.
Doing it on my own for a while and then will maybe join a class, too embarrassed to go back ATM Blush

No ketosis headache today, smelly breath and everything aches though?

How's everyone?

gloriana · 15/02/2012 13:03

Hi Peanut, glad to have you with us! I think LL is exactly the same as Cambridge in terms of diet but that Cambridge is cheaper and you don't have to do the class, you just go and see your counsellor once a week. I do like haviing the bars as well - so nice to chew on something!

Going - please let us know how you are...getting worried about your diarrhoea now.

Overtired - hi there! You are doing fantastically well! Am feeling like I might be about to have a similar weekend to your last one - am going away with DH for the weekend this weekend and feel that I would just like to relax and eat/have a glass of wine. Will try to be good though.

PeanutButterCupCake · 15/02/2012 16:18

Thanks Smile

Feel like a rung out wet dishcloth today, anyone else?

Overtiredmum · 15/02/2012 17:38

Peanut, when I first did CD about 4 years ago, my CDC told me that Cambridge actually produce the LL products. For me personally, it wasn't just about the expense, it was about sitting down having a one-to-one with your CDC, rather than a group meeting, especially since it is something I would never have the time to do, aren't they 2-hours long or something? I am usually with my CDC for about 30 minutes a week, that is for weigh-in, purchase next weeks supply, and to chat - which is usually nothing to do with CD! I am on 3 packs a day, but I only have bars and ready-made tetras these days, as time is really tight for me and its just easier. Total cost is £42.00.

Smelly breath is a very good sign of ketosis, although not necessarily the aches and pains. Remember, everyone will have differing symptoms. I always know when I am in ketosis because my mouth and throat feel furry!

My DH came home from work tonight and said wow, you are fading away! Grin

Gloriana - lucky lady, having a weekend away! As long as you're sensible, you'll be fine. Do you have tetras and/or bars you can take with you? They are the best thing, then you can still take them, and you can have a high-protein evening meal. If you have a glass (or two) of vino, keep a glass of water on the go as well. When I had a couple at the weekend, I was one sip of wine, one sip of water.

Am looking forward to a few days off work after tonight - a nice few family days x

cockneydad · 16/02/2012 07:30

Morning all - hope everyone is coping. I am OK, still needing have a little extra protein during the day, but I appear to be 11.5 pounds later after 13 days doing sole source +, so it is certainly working!

gloriana · 16/02/2012 15:24

Well done Cockneydad! That is brilliant. Wish mine was coming off as fast Envy seems to have plateaued over the last 3 weeks and I'm really not eating much!!

Went to the cinema last night and was SO tempted to get popcorn! I think there is a little devil in my head saying 'go on, go on, go on'. Is so hard to resist and always have that willpower.

cockneydad · 16/02/2012 16:11

Hi Gloriana - I had to binge on bacon the other day - it is hard to deal with cravings, I think that noticing them and being aware of them (before you find yourself munching away on something 'bad') is a good start to avoid bad eating habits. Hope you the losses start again soon !
