GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Morning all - now down 7 pounds in 7 days - quite happy with that, still getting used to relative lack of food, but I really want to make this work! Hope everyone is getting on well !

Panadbois · 09/02/2012 11:08

Fantastic cockney!

going we rarely have snow where we are. Wrap up warm and have a Brew

cockneydad · 09/02/2012 11:32

Thanks Panadbois ! Just had a shake prepared as recommended (I think by GFGW) - where you blend it with crushed ice - wow - so much more enjoyable !!

Panadbois · 09/02/2012 17:27

Boohoo! I'm sitting here with a mug of hot water, whilst cooking the family tea.

I'm starting to fantasize about food now. I could murder a sausage with some ketchup :-(

Overtiredmum · 09/02/2012 17:48

Wow Going, you're a lucky girl - eight inches for you tonight - I too would be boasting if I were THAT lucky Wink! Ha ha ha ha

Seriously, you have my sympathies. Radio in the car coming in to work this evening said we were expecting 5 inches, but every forecast I have looked at, London just gets clipped - thankfully, I don't think we will get any, or if we do, nothing significant. Damn stuff I hate it!

But thankyfully its half term next week! Hooray! Wish I could say I'll be looking forward to long lie-ins, but at least we won't be rushing out the door at some ungodly hour, and I have a few days off work with DH too, so proper family time for a change.

Looking forward to this weekend. DH will be off fishing with his mate, and I intend to use Saturday evening to start my decorating - and will take full advantage of his mate staying at ours all weekend - I'll do the cooking, he can paint Grin!! Plus, the kids love him, so hoping for some peace and quiet too! He is one of these guys that you would love your daughter to date, but makes you think "ooooooo if only I were 15 years younger"!! Grin

Am off shopping with my DD tomorrow to start replenishing my wardrobe. My DH looked at me in my work trousers this evening and has advised me not to wear them again after tonight as they are hanging off me. I also got called skinny by two separate people today - lovely, but I did turn around to check there was no-one standing behind me first!! I don't get compliments!

Anyway, another great day diet-wise, although feeling slightly knackered!

Hope you all doing OK. Cockney, well done on the 7lbs - a lb a day, thats great!

mumof3boys01 · 10/02/2012 00:04

Chicken and mushroom soup not too bad. I've kept half of my porridge to eat tonight when the munchies come to create havoc.

I'm still fantasizing about food though Hmm

This is my third day, please tell me it'll get easier.

GoingForGoalWeight · 10/02/2012 17:47

I can live off my body fat for weeks. If i was kidnapped and had water to drink and no food, i'd survive for weeks. it is not food we crave it is something else. It is not the taste of food we crave, it is something else.

What is it?

Overtiredmum · 10/02/2012 18:04

I am feeling very sorry for myself tonight - every bone in my body hurts and I am totally exhausted Sad I have a really busy weekend planned, which I am looking forward to, but not if I feel like this. Hopefully a good night sleep will help and I'll wake up all refreshed tomorrow morning.

I did have a good shopping trip today though Grin. I got a lovely pair of slouch jeans in Next, and three lovely tops, all size 14s and all are loose on me. DH wanted me to buy size 12 in the jeans, but I think I am just not brave enough - does that sound stupid?? I feel I might jinx myself or something. I will be shrinking my current jeans further this weekend, and also all my work trousers, I can't really afford to be buying a whole new wardrobe of clothes for each size I get through, although it would be rather great!!

Well done Mumof3boys, 7lbs is great and Cockney I see that you are settling down well into CD now, you've had such a struggle and you're doing really, really well.

I am hoping to treat myself to a couple of glasses of red wine tomorrow evening, we have a friend staying for the weekend, and it usually results in copious amounts of alcohol, but I have all the guys food worked out, and the kids, and a separate menu for me, so may treat myself to 2 glasses and then get back on track on Sunday, but it depends how I feel. I did have a glass of wine last weekend, but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I used to, and followed every sip with a glug of sparkling water.

cockneydad · 10/02/2012 18:47

Thanks for the encouragement everyone !

gloriana · 10/02/2012 19:37

Hello all, great to hear how everyone is doing and how much weight is flying off Smile

I am struggling a bit with the diet - have woken up in the night for last 2 nights with cramps in my leg which is now really sore. Finding it hard to resist having some food although I haven't yet. I might ask my CDC is I should go on to SS+. Haven't dared to get on the scales as don't think I can face another small loss of weight. I don't feel like I've lost loads this week and I have not cheated at all.

I do like the feeling that when I get up in the morning I feel really energised and really want to get things done in the house etc. But in the late afternoon/evening I really do feel very hungry and it would be so nice to have a meal with the family or go out with friends.

Must get my head into the space where it IS worth it and to stick with it until I am eating healthily...

Overtiredmum · 10/02/2012 19:53

Oddly, I am just reading a thread on Minimins about the fear of being thin - that is just how I feel. When I went shopping today, I knew my DH was right in that if one size is loose, then get a smaller size, although it may be too tight now, in another week it may be a perfect fit, and thus I have not wasted the £40 on a pair of jeans that no longer fit. I think it goes down to routine, you get used to shopping and picking up a size whatever, to then go out within a matter of a few weeks and pick up a size which is one or two smaller, its like your brain hasn't caught up with your body! Most odd.

I'll shut up now Grin

Gloriana, just because you do not feel like you have lost loads, doesn't mean that you haven't and remember a loss doesn't always show on the scale, but may on the tape measure. At the same time, don't be afraid to eat. If you feel you must/want to, try a little chicken or some white fish and some green salad, it will not harm you at all.

I am not feeling great at all today, scales are moving in the right direction which is fab, but I do feel like I may need to eat something, just to see if it helps me to feel better and give me a boost of energy to get to the end of the day. I don't finish work until 11pm, and although I am not hungry, I am feeling weak and feeble.

cockneydad · 10/02/2012 19:57

Hi Gloriana, my consultant recommends sole source + to start (at least she did for me) - I couldn't imagine doing sole source. SS+ is not that much more in terms of calorific intake - about 200kcal ish. Given that SS+ is still

gloriana · 10/02/2012 21:45

Thanks Cockney and Overtired - you are right I should just have some food eg. chicken and feel a bit better about the diet. I am seeing my CDC on Mon so will speak to her then.

Overtired - you must enjoy the new you with her new jeans! No point in having new jeans that are baggy Smile

cockneydad · 11/02/2012 08:42

No problem Gloriana, even though I am on sole source plus, I do indulge in a few little extras when very hungry (1/2times a day) - favourites include: a couple of slices of lean ham/chicken, sugar free jelly (my consultant actually gave me some!), a few -little- bits of 70% cocoa chocolate. I have still managed to drop a pound a day to date - 9 pounds in total. If the weight loss slows down a lot, I will resist any extras - for now, it makes it all a little more bearable !

Panadbois · 11/02/2012 15:50

Hi all, can I ask you about going to the toilet? I need to know if I can take Laxido to help me go, as i've got those in the house?

Thanks Smile

cockneydad · 11/02/2012 20:27

Not sure about that one Panadbois - my consultant recommended fybogel in case of any problems !

Panadbois · 11/02/2012 21:00

Thanks Cockneydad. Thought you'd all gone out on the tiles without me!!

I'm feeling very thirsty in this diet, even though I'm drinking loads. Is this a symptom of ketotis?

I'm still thinking about food, all day, but I know that it's my brain that wants food, not my stomach! I've read so many thread about CD now, and I also would like to state like others have mentioned before me, how I wished Slimming World worked for me, cos I could murned proper food now!

cockneydad · 11/02/2012 22:12

It can be hard sometimes - I lost some weight on Slimming World, but it took a long time and I struggled to stick with it - CD diet so far has not been easy, 9 lb in 9 days, is hard to argue with. I also sneak a little bit of extra lean meat when I need to which helps. Week two has been a lot easier than week one. From what I understand, thirst could be ketosis, I would have a work with your consultant. Stick at it Panadbois !

cockneydad · 11/02/2012 22:13

I need to learn to type: 'work' = 'word' and 'is hard' = 'but is hard'.

Panadbois · 12/02/2012 09:23

I keep spelling this wrong too, I blame the Ipad!
