GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Thanks GFGW :) I shall hopefully feel better tomorrow ! I am SS + too,so I will have a little meal of lean meat and veg in a while (takes the off a bit). I lost a lot of weight years ago on a low carb diet - but didn't really make sure I got the nutrition I needed and had to come of it after about 7-8 months, hoping CD will be a more more balanced!

cockneydad · 05/02/2012 19:23

Hi Toobig - sounds like you are doing really well !! I have slept some of today and my lovely DW has let me just loaf around and has done most of the toddler / dog management :)

GoingForGoalWeight · 06/02/2012 07:23

Morning GFGW - day 4 begins, was a bit hungry first thing, but feeling a bit more alive (5.5 pounds lost in 3 days Shock)

mumof3boys01 · 06/02/2012 09:02

Lost 5lbs last week ,weigh in on Thursday, had a rubbish weekend feeling a bit low still suffer a bit from PND.DS not sleeping to well at moment as he has some big back teeth coming through so only getting 3-5hrs sleep(yawn).Had a few cups of black coffee and a can of diet coke this weekend now worrying i have ruined my ketosis.
Well done to everyone you are all doing great. And thank you GFGW for starting this thread it really helps to talk to people with large weight loss journeys.

Starreaching · 06/02/2012 09:44

Hi all, glad to see others have started their journey's too - I don't feel like such the 'new kid'!

Well it's Day 6 now and I'm feeling good! Ketosis has now definitely kicked in and I feel as though I have more energy than I've had in such a long time. I even went for a walk in the snow yesterday. I'm not hungry at all amazingly and whilst I still crave things if I see them I am able to tell myself that it will only harm me. Working so far!

First weigh in tonight and am really hoping for a good number. I don't have any weighing scales at home unfortunately and am not sure which type to buy. Do any of you larger ladies have a recommendation? I need it to go up a looong way :( - but hopefully not for long! I hope to be 26st something when I weigh tonight then just keep on going!

Well done on your loss mumofthreeboys - I hope you're feeling better now.

You too Cockneydad, I hope work is easier today!

Toobigforschool - 7lbs is great. I'm hoping for similar.

Going - keep on going!! This thread is such a great idea and support.

Good luck to all Wink

cockneydad · 06/02/2012 13:14

Half way through day 4 (ish!) - better than day 3, still getting hunger pangs, but not as pronounced and a feel less tired and grumpy than yesterday! Hoping ketosis will really kick in over next day or so!

cockneydad · 06/02/2012 14:06

update - now feeling more like yesterday - had to have some lean meat to keep going - hoping I will perk up a bit more later !

STAR - i was 27 stones 9lb at the begiining of mt SlimFast journey! I got my scales from Argos, Salter digital , go up to 30 stones, scales about £!5 ish, they are very reliable and stylish glass.

You can/we can BOTH AND ALL do this!

Just think where you'll be Star weighwise in the height of Summer - August if you 100% Sole Source - at least 11 stones lighter AT LEAST.

Drink water, stick to plan, exercise 15 - 30 minutes per day when you feel able to.

We're all in this together, the more we write about how we feel the better. Hopefully this thread will be a permanant diary of our feelings and experiences. Even if we 'fail' we can come back to this thread, read and realise the reality of the change that needs to take place and is evolving on the diet.

No shame iun posting what you/we feel.

CHANGE NAMES IF YOU FEEL THAT IS BEST X

Hello hello hello! I am here, I promise. I did pop in early on Saturday morning, but didn't have time to post anything - sorry!

Wow, you are all doing really well. Toobig - 32lb in 5 weeks is amazing! And Going, you really inspire this whole thread so please keep us going!

I had a lovely weekend. Snow yesterday ruined it a little, as it meant my parents couldn't get to us for dinner. I did eat on Saturday and yesterday, as I explained before because of the kids, but so far always seem to manage to get back on track OK. Weigh in day tomorrow. I'd be happy with another 3lb, although am a little Envy at those with massive numbers every week, but I don't have a massive amount to lose now and hope to be finished (or very nearly) by the end of March. I have gone down a trouser size for work now Grin and feel fabulous, although my DH made a complaint yesterday (sorry to any guys on here!!) but he is moaning that my boobies are disappearing! Hooray for me, damn things, and had to cheer him up by promised some nice new underwear (for me, not him!!)

I have massive amounts of energy these days, I did all my housework today and I am off to B&Q tomorrow to buy paint so I can get all my glossing done over the weekend. I am starting to look at things so much differently now, things that I would be happy to leave "until later" I now want done "now"! Much to DH's disappointment!

Toobig4school · 06/02/2012 20:40

Thanks everyone it's great to have all you encouragement and support hope I'm the same for you guys.
Starsearching I'm sure you'll do great this week just keep at It.
I know how hard it is but just keep on thinking of that goal you've set. For me the hardest thing is flavour sometimes when I feel I can't go with out any longer i picture myself slim and running on the beach or park with my kids and not worrying about how wobbly I look and what people are thinking. If we can get through week one and ur in ketosis their is no turning back because we are fat burning machines.
GFGW getting smaller is the greatest feeling especially getting in the bath and having room to wriggle and move around.
Thanks guys it can get lonely out there this thread makes it somehow easier

mumof3boys01 · 06/02/2012 21:38

Feeling very upbeat tonight my eldest son told me how proud of me he is,and took me to join his gym he goes to.So glad he got me to go as i never thought i would feel comfortable in a gym,but it was not what i expected people just like me trying to lose weight.Smile

cockneydad · 06/02/2012 22:25

End of day 4 - I have reached many times for the 'emergency cold meats' and had a little cheese - which I am sure is a 'no-no' but in my low carb days did not knock me out of ketosis - hoping I will feel a but less hungry tomorrow, the lethargy has gone, but I am struggling with the lack of food !

cockneydad · 07/02/2012 09:47

Day 5 - still struggling a bit, hungry and tired ! Seeing consultant tomorrow.

Starreaching · 07/02/2012 10:35

CDC couldn't see me last night as she had double booked. Was really disappointed but she agreed to see me this morning instead (as it was her fault though she made it very clear she usually only works Mondays) and [drumroll please] 8lbs down in a week!!

I'm so pleased to have lost half a stone and so so pleased that I stuck with it through the horrible first few days!

GFGW - thanks for the scale tip, I'll definitely look into that one. I really want some scales now (for the first time in years) to watch all the flab melt away! I can't wait until August - I plan to SS for as long as possible and AT LEAST a year. My 'short term' goal is to get into the 19st zone then take it from there. I think my ideal weight is about 11 st but that's just too far away to think about now. The years go so quickly though that I'm really focused on using this one to make some really positive changes to my weight, health and life.

Toobigforschool - thanks! We can do this! I've never thought of myself as a 'fat burning machine' before lol

Hooray for Cambridge, it's brilliant!!!

Well done everyone for all the great losses!

P.S. Sorry for long post, weight-loss and ketosis high to blame!

Panadbois · 07/02/2012 12:42

Hi, I'm waiting for a call back from a local CD consultant!

I went to a LL consultation on Saturday, then stumbled accorss refrences to this diet.....

Can anyone tell me please if you need to see the GP before starting CD?

Panadbois · 07/02/2012 12:58

Read the whole thread now and found what I wanted to know, thanks! Am meeting her tomorrow.

Can I come back and join you here? (looks sweet and innocent emotion)

cockneydad · 07/02/2012 14:09

I'm sure you would be welcome Panadbois ! I also looked at LL, but couldn't afford it !

mumof3boys01 · 07/02/2012 14:45

Hi Panadbois always lovely when new people join, the more the merrierSmile.
Just spoke to my counsellor as i am really missing my caffeine fix,and she said coffee should be fine in moderation. So going to put a teaspoon of coffee in my vanilla shake and hot water so will be just like a latteGrin.

Overtiredmum · 07/02/2012 17:14

Keep going Cockneydad, its so worth it. Are you having 3 or 4 supplements a day? I do think if you are struggling, it might be wise to try Step 2 - 810, that way you can have a small meal and there is hardly any difference in weekly weightloss.

Starreaching - 8lbs! Wow, well done. It makes it all worthwhile when you get numbers like that. Sorry, I can't remember, is that your first weigh in?

I had my Week 4 weigh-in today, but only lost 1lb Angry but it is mid-cycle for me, and sometimes that can be just as bad for me as TOTM, so am not too worried, especially since I've lost another inch off my waist Grin. So, thats 16 lbs in 4 weeks, and 4 inches off my waist. I am no long er a size 16, but a very comfortable 14! I have doubled-up my supplies this week, as next week is half term and I don't want to be going for weigh-in with the kids, but I am happy with that.

How's everyone else doing? x

Toobig4school · 07/02/2012 18:39

Really tempted to crack a tin of tuna open TOTM
Trying to drink loads but it's hard tonight

Overtiredmum · 07/02/2012 18:42

Toobig, have a glass of water and find something to do for 15 minutes. If you then still want the tuna, then have some, it won't hurt, but you may find you're not actually hungry, just craving it because of TOTM x

Toobig4school · 07/02/2012 19:01

Thanks will do some house work before putting kids to bed
