2012 - New Years Day - The Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - Weight loss

GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

cockneydad · 31/01/2012 20:07

I actually had two attempts at finding a good consultant to start with - the first one I tried didn't check email (and she used someone else's account!) and was hard to get on the phone, when my wife got through it was to someone else in her family and they were not helpful at all. The next one, was lovely, we got on very well during the first consultation, so I was lucky. I mentioned my first attempt to the consultant I am with now, and she guessed who it was and was not surprised !

cockneydad · 31/01/2012 20:15

Seeing consultant Thursday - should be starting CD on Fri/Sat - bit nervous - need to keep reducing carbs - failed today.

Overtiredmum · 31/01/2012 20:29

Just try and reduce the carbs between now and then, no need to cut them straight out. It will make it easier for you when you start.

Well done!

Lollyheart · 31/01/2012 20:43

Hello everyone, can I join this thread?
I've just been to see my cdc for my first appointment,
I weighed in at 12st 10, my goal is 9st 7.
I done the diet a year ago, got down to my goal weight and then got pregnant Grin
I'll read the thread and get to know you all Smile.

mumof3boys01 · 31/01/2012 20:51

Still going good not cheated at all actually not eating makes it easier in a way because eating is like a addiction to me,and if i had any other addiction like smoking drinking etc you would give it up.I know i will have to eat food again eventually, but by then i hope to have more control of what i eat.
GoingforGoalWeight i changed my counselor as the first one was a bit to abrupt for me,and i am a delicate little soalGrin

mumof3boys01 · 31/01/2012 20:56

Oh and welcome Toobig4school and Lollyheart
Must say when i get to goal weight i may consider getting pregnant againGrin.

Overtiredmum · 01/02/2012 17:02

Another great day for me, although its too bloody cold! Praying we don't get snow - hate the damn stuff!

Hope everyone else ok x

slalomsuki · 01/02/2012 20:11

Not so good here. I seem to be drifting now and eating more proper food. Not such an issue in that I have been on 1200 calories from the start but also logging what I eat on the my fitness pal app. It's been hard this week what with two business lunches and one more to come on Friday but I have tried. Other thing is caffeine is also slipping in and this is despite being on decaf for 10 years.

Oh well I will persevere.

GoingForGoalWeight · 01/02/2012 20:15

Welcome lolly and toobig :) Good to see you!

Today i am absolutely bloody freeeeeezing! My son is off school with sickness and diahorrea bug. Today i have felt pretty down in the dumps and craving sugar, chips etc. But only because i'd had one shake! Just had another shake and feel better but still cold, i have the heating on and a fan heater. At this stage it looks as if i won't be attending my Friday weigh in.

Anyway today was a real struggle not to raid the cupboards but i know each time i resist i will be so proud of myself and another step in the right direction of managing my emotions and at the moment odd battles in my head for junk food.

I am 25 stones and dangerously overweight, i cannot keep ballsing my life up just because i choose to hide and centre any pleasure/comfort via killing myself with uteer needless and copius amounts of crap food.

(( slalomski )) it must be so hard when you need to eat out. We're all a work in progress and everyday can be a learning curve. x

Hello everybody! Welcome to Lollyheart and Toobig. The more the merrier Smile

I had a tricky situation last night - was out and in such a rush that I forgot to take a shake or bar with me. As I got on the train my heart sank as I knew I was in for a very hungry evening but then the girls I was with had some small snacks so I had some as well. I felt bad as I hadn't intended to eat food and would have been very happy with my bar. Was so annoyed with myself that I forgot it.

Anyway, back on the straight and narrow today. Trying to drink loads of water - especially fizzy water with the orange flavouring. Makes it taste like diet lemonade which is a very nice change to water!

Hope all good out there. Cockneydad - we can't wait to hear how you get on. Don't be nervous - we're here to hear it all Grin

gloriana · 01/02/2012 21:06

Going - you are doing brilliantly and are an inspiration to us all! It is bloody freezing though - I am wrapped in about 5 layers of thick jumpers. So much for losing weight - no one can tell when I go out as have a thick padded coat that goes down to my knees!!

katnisseverdeen · 02/02/2012 11:01

I just wanted to pop in and say hello, and congrats on doing so well!

I've done cambridge in the past and loved it, I'm doing exante at the moment as it's a bit of a treck to a cdc and also it is much cheaper Blush I also use another weight loss site for support which I find just as helpful as when I was seeing a cdc (though I suppose that does depend on who you see!)

I'm on day 32 now and have been 100% so far

Best of luck to you all with your weight reduction journeys Grin (I won't say weight loss as that implies you can find it again, and reduction means it's gone for good Wink)

cockneydad · 02/02/2012 11:53

Consultant tonight - start tomorrow I think....

Toobig4school · 02/02/2012 12:00

Good luck be strong

GoingForGoalWeight · 02/02/2012 15:00

EYesterday i had a bit of a stressy phone call and i could have eaten for England, I didn't and so glad. It really isn't worth ruining ketosis, although i still feel i could eat. It will pass and i will have learned and i will be slimmer and not living like a lazy slug because of the carbohydrates.

I will get to my goal weight of just under 11 stones. I weight first thing and was 24 stones 12lb.

Well done for abstaining Going, it really is all about habit, isn't it?

Day 26 for me and I had an "Oh my god" moment today - in a good way! 27 days ago I tried on my favourite pair of size 14 jeans. Couldn't even get them on passed my hips. Getting ready for the school run today, I just thought I would see if they would manage to squeeze up to my waist. THEY FIT ME PERFECTLY! Am so happy. I seem to be shrinking faster this time, but the weight is coming off slower, but have to say I think I prefer it.

I have reached a stage at the moment where I am not even thinking about food. I know I will have to eat a small meal with the kids at the weekend, but I can manage that.

Onwards and inwards Grin

GoingForGoalWeight · 02/02/2012 19:02

Overtiremum Yes, that's the word
