GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

GoingForGoalWeight · 28/01/2012 14:59

Thank you mumof3 :)

My boobs are saggy, saggy totally sagged. Two torpedo shapes ready to fire at the floor sp gawd knows what they'll be like at Christmas :(

I'm really dreading saggy skin, i guess i'll have to save about 8 grand for a body lift - fat chance!

I was really tired last night after a busy day and i only managed 2 shakes. Naughty me! Guess it might happen time to time so I'll make up for it today. I do not feel hungry and as a result of yesterday's naughtiness i was 24 stone 13lb this morning!
Drinking lots, feeling GREAT, upbeat positive.

How about you, reader?

OP posts:
GoingForGoalWeight · 28/01/2012 17:10

This is how i make up my Cambridge shake

I use a blender, ready crushed ice from Sainsbury's (saves blades), far less room temp water than reommended, pour the shake powder on and whizz.

Texture should be like McDonald's milkshake and i drink through one of their straws as they are wide and strong enough.

They are really yummy if you do it properly :)

Chocolate mint - yum

No other milkshake I've ever tried on a weight loss programme can match the quality - IMO.

I could NOT drink the shakes any other way, yuck. Grin

Another week gone and I have discovered there is a pattern to my week. I am fine Monday to Friday and can generally stick to what I am doing. Saturday is a different thing altogether with the craving and snacking kicking in. Sunday then comes round and provided I have some distraction with the kids I can get back on track.

Weigh in on Monday this week and I have a lot to live up to with all of your successes.

GoingForGoalWeight · 28/01/2012 19:08

slalomski My Consultant told me that some people go off plan on weekends and go back on weekdays :)

She also said that people when maintaining have 3 packs and one meal in the weekday evening consisting of anything with no snacks afterwards.

You are doing fab x

OP posts:
gloriana · 28/01/2012 19:10

GFGW - keep it up you are doing brilliantly! Must make sure that you eat the right amount each day though - 2 shakes is too little and your body will suffer. Love the fact that you have told us how you make your shakes. I am far too hungry by the time I actually have one so just pour in water and blend with hand blender. I try to leave as much time as possible between each meal.

Am off out tonight to dinner party with 6 other people. I know the hosts but not the 2 other couples coming and am hoping that they don't think I'm massively rude by not eating. It is a Burns night dinner so frankly am quite glad I don't have to eat haggis but might be tempted by the lentil curry that she is also doing - that can't be too bad if I have a tiny bit can it?

Also know that DH will want me to have a glass of wine (or 5!) and will be difficult to resist if everyone else is drinking.

What we have to go through for this diet....

GoingForGoalWeight · 29/01/2012 13:44

Hi gloriana thanks x

How was last night? If you can, have a pack today and start again asap.

I feel good today :)

I'm dreaming of summer dresses. i think i'm going to need some style advice when i get to around 17 stones!

What kind of style. shape of summer dress will suit me!

When i'm at goal i want one of those Mary Portas style dresses Grin shift dress, capped sleeves, thin colourful belt, tights, high heel boot type shoes.

I'm thinking curly hair might suit me as i have a sharp nose (of which i hate)

Last night was ok and I only cheated by having a glass of red wine and a tiny bit of lentil curry. Think I did well considering the hostess kept putting food in front of me! Luckily the others didn't ask why I wasn't eating any food but I definitely got some odd looks once the guy next to me realised I wasn't eating. Felt so rude as all this lovely food had been cooked and I was saying no thanks I'll have this lovely nutritious shake instead!

Today has been hard. Cooked roast lamb and apple pie for my boys and DH and it smelt SO good. Was very hard to resist. Never mind will be worth it in the end....

GoingForGoalWeight · 29/01/2012 18:56

I wouldn't say you cheated - you had a night off for a very good reason :) Good luck getting back into ketosis, in the zone.

I never get invited anywhere so I do not have the same worry. I imagine it must be very hard x You did well and were confident enough to eat what you wanted to eat. :)

Ok weigh in today and have only lost 1/2 lb. my own scales say 2lbs but counsellors say 1/2.

Feel better though and parked car outside ring road in town this morning and walked to work do feeling good.

Will keep at it.

Keep up the good work everyone.

gloriana · 30/01/2012 13:26

Well done Slalomsuki! Any loss is better than none Smile. I've got my weigh in this afternoon and am bit worried as is TOTM so expecting that won't have lost a great deal. Will pop in later to update everyone...

gloriana · 30/01/2012 18:18

Weigh in and lost 3 lbs and more importantly 2 inches from my waist!! Am so chuffed and feel inspired to keep going. Luckily is Day 14 today so have got some yummy bars from my CDC. Looking forward to a toffee one for supper...

Overtiredmum · 30/01/2012 19:57

Well done Gloriana and Slalomsuki!

Weigh in for me tomorrow morning, hoping for a large(ish) number. Feeling great, Day 23 for me. Had a couple of very small meals over the weekend, but that was purely because the DC were around, and I don't want them to see me not eating.

Must say, I am sleeping sooooo much better these days and to wake up without a hangover is marvelous Grin

Going, how are you today?

GoingForGoalWeight · 30/01/2012 23:21

Hey all - just trying to organize consultant appointment so I can start - hopefully will be on the wagon by the weekend - I really need to do this, keep having sugar crashes and feeling wobbly !

GoingForGoalWeight · 31/01/2012 16:00

Feeling better today! Although clashed a bit with the consultant. Just went to buy some products and she became anxious because she was late for the appointment, i didn't mind but the other client waiting did. I tried to explain as to why i was buying the products today and not friday even though i'd already told her i might buy them today hence the appointment. She interrupted me as if she thought i was about to criticise her which i had no attention of doing. Also my son is off school and she told me to look after him in the car who was in sight next to me - that was my very intention i only was there to tell her what i needed as my son might not be at school on friday so leaving me unable to attend fridays appointment. All usual petty female crap. She is very strange and tries to predict what i'm about to say and sees people as on the attack. Nice but annoying.

OP posts:
GoingForGoalWeight · 31/01/2012 16:02

I think i might see her on Friday and i could have called her last night to tell her this but i thought no, as she almost never answers her phone.

OP posts:
GoingForGoalWeight · 31/01/2012 16:04

Makes me want to eat but no, she isn't ruining my diet and holiday. I think i might change consultants. She brings me down with her nuttyness i was embarrassed infront of the other woman.

OP posts:
GoingForGoalWeight · 31/01/2012 16:06

Anyway on a lighter note, my jeans are looser :)
How do you find your consultants attitude/professional conduct etc?

OP posts:
Overtiredmum · 31/01/2012 17:17

Oh Going, that is not good. So, she was stressed because she was late for your appointment? I think I would have asked the other lady to wait outside until you had finished. The consultations are supposed to be one-on-one, so she shouldn't have put you in that situation. I would just go Friday, and tell her that in future could she please refrain from letting this happen again. Appointments overrun, thats par for the course, but just let her be aware that you will not stand for it and are prepared to switch. You are paying her after all, and she is providing a service.

My CDC is lovely, we chinwag for ages. I know she is always on the other end of the phone if I need to talk about anything, and I would even go as far as to call her my friend.

Had my weigh in today and lost 3lbs and another inch off my waist. So thats 15lbs in total in 23 days - am really pleased. My size 16 trousers and jeans are falling off. I treated myself to a lovely summer frock in H&M yesterday, was only £14.99. It looks lovely on now, but another stone, it will look fabulous!

I am ok with eating to be honest. I did treat myself today to 2 hard boiled eggs, on their own, was yummm!. I won't eat anything else now until Saturday, when I promised DH an indian takeaway, but that won't be too bad. I know what to have that won't throw me out of ketosis, so it will be a nice treat.

cockneydad · 31/01/2012 17:23

Hey Going - I would change consultant if you are not happy, can't be helpful having that additional stress... just my two penn'orth ! Carry on the good work !

Overtiredmum · 31/01/2012 18:21

Totally agree with Cockney. At the end of the day, this is your money and your life. If she isn't motivating you and supporting you as she should, then change.
