GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Everyone seems to be really motivated and positive on here it's great! Grin.
I'm still doing 1000, though my own version of it most of the time, sometimes I miss SS just because it was so convenient, no need to think just drink shakes Grin.
4 stones 5lb off in 4 months last week, loving Cambridge Smile

Overtiredmum · 26/01/2012 18:33

Wow, well done VeryStressed!

Feeling abit sluggish today but think thats just TOTM. Day 19 nearly over and done with!

GoingForGoalWeight · 26/01/2012 20:04

Yay peeps! :)

My weigh in is tomorrow afternoon.

Stressed that's very god :) and encouraging, I might have more to lose so could lose more than that in the same timeframe. Be good to be a few stones under 20 stones!

CAN'T WAIT

I'm still 100%

Well had my weigh in today lost 12lbs so that now makes me 25st1lb,only 2 more pound and i will be in the 24's Smile.Willpower as been sliding a bit the last few days, but been looking at lovely clothes today and feel very motivated again.

Starreaching · 26/01/2012 20:46

Hello all you lovely ladies (and Gentleman!). I've been reading this fantastic thread since Christmas and am trying to find the courage you all have to make a real difference in my life and weight.

Cambridge will hopefully be my answer as I'm soooo desperate to lose weight but I'm terrified of going to a Cambridge counsellor and being weighed. How awful is it? I rarely leave the house due to my weight which makes it really nerve wracking to think of but I know this is the time. I can't spend another year like this.

GFGW you have really inspired me as you seem to be overcoming similar problems. I'm so proud of what you've already achieved and only hope I can find similar strength.

I'm amazed at everyone on here actually and would love to be part of your thread once I've plucked up the courage to start. Would you advise speaking to doctor first?

Well done everyone and good luck going forward. Sorry for long post!

VeryStressedMum · 26/01/2012 21:21

GFGW that's great weight loss, keep going - I really can 'see' a change in your posts from the beginning you're so much more upbeat and positive it' sfantastic Smile

Star - call a consultant and speak to her. Then make an appointment. Then GO. You can do it you really can. Leaving the house for your appointment will be the step towards your new life.
I had my consultants number for a while before I actually called her and I've never once regretted it. In fact it's the best thing I've ever done because 4 months ago I was unhappy and a little depressed. Now I'm about 7lbs to goal and I cannot tell you how much better I feel.

Because time passes anyway. The week that you wait to call the consultant means a week lost on your way to a new and better life for you. This time next week if you don't call you will be in exactly the same place you are now. However, if you see her this time next week you could be a few days into the new you and it will make such a difference to how you feel - just read through GoingForGoalWeight's posts and see how she's changed!!!

Let us know how you get on and good luck xxxx

ps well done mumof3boys too!!

slalomsuki · 26/01/2012 22:47

Well done everybody. Good weight losses all round and some good support.

Am still plodding on and feeling good. Have a business lunch tomorrow that may be a problem but I will manage as best as I can.

Starreaching · 27/01/2012 14:13

Thank you for your post Verystressedmum! You're right I know and I WILL take that step to health. I have the name of a CDC who lives quite near me and have sent an email. Terrifying but exciting at the same time.

If all the positive stories on this post are anything to go by then maybe this is the last year I will feel and look like this!

It will take me at least a year though, even at a stone a month :(

Brilliant news Mumof3boys - 12lbs is incredible!!

gloriana · 27/01/2012 14:43

Hello everybody and well done to all the fab weight losses!

Star - welcome and best of luck with your journey. We will all be here to hear all about how you get on - the good and the bad. You have already been incredibly brave and now have to take the last step towards a new you Smile

Cockneydad - where are you? How are you getting on?

I am feeling very smug today as last night I went to a mum's night out at the most gorgeous Chinese restaurant and sat there drinking my sparkling water while everyone else ate loads. Luckily everyone there was very supportive of the fact that I am trying to lose weight (I told them it was a detox as well which always goes down well in Jan). Sometimes people try and make you eat something so I was a bit nervous about going.

Hunger not too bad today but is always worse in the evening/night. Day 11 today for me and feeling very good!

GoingForGoalWeight · 27/01/2012 15:20

cockneydad · 27/01/2012 16:25

I need to drop about 5 stone - new baby due in July, hoping to get some off by then!

Starreaching · 27/01/2012 16:31

GFGW - OMG!! 2st in less than a month is just amazing! I can't belive how well you're doing.

I've just had a response from the CDC who sounds really nice and lost alot herself and I am going to see her on Tuesday (after getting form signed). I am so going to try this, I can't wait to be able to feel as positive as all of you and to see myself shrinking!

GoingForGoalWeight · 27/01/2012 16:44

Thsnks Star :) Good luck with your Consultant on Tuesday.

Eats lots and lots of protein 2 days before, cut cars out altogether if you can, before this eat everything you love, copius amounts, make a food list.

Same goes for cockney
made the journey to ketosis so much easier for me and i felt in kicking in on the evening of day 2.

Overtiredmum · 27/01/2012 17:37

Wow wow wow Going - 6lbs! Well done you! You're doing really well so keep it up!!

I "unofficially" weighed myself today and I have reached the 1 stone mark, so thats 14lbs in 19 days and am really pleased! That means I have 1 stone and 8 lbs to go until target! Although, I am thinking I may just carry on until I am totally happy.

BUT, had a massive boost - just got in to work and someone told me I am looking skinny!! Grin

Look forward to you joining us Cockneydad and Starreaching - you are taking a massive step towards changing your lives, and it is so worth it!

cockneydad · 27/01/2012 18:50

Looking forward to getting going - my only worry is the first couple of days and the cost - we are on a v tight budget, but think we can make it work !! Well done everyone with the losses so far !!

Overtiredmum · 27/01/2012 19:12

Cockneydad you will be fine. As Going said earlier, just make sure you cut out carbs and increase your water a few days before, and that will really help. But your CDC should tell you that anyway.

The cost can be pretty daunting, but you have to weigh it up against what you may spend for food on yourself for a week.

GoingForGoalWeight · 27/01/2012 19:35

The cost is killing me! But i worked out i spend not much less on food for myself per week anyway. I never go out in the car to cover the cost. I'm very bored! I've found some amazing videos on Youtube regards big weight losers. I'm definately worried about saggy skin, I'm bound to have a lot of it as in total i had 210lb to lose. I've done it to myself, so can't complain too much.

Just help your body to get into ketosis by ewating meat, eggs, fish, small amount of salad. You will be so grateful . Drink 3 - 4 litres of water if you can as staves off hunger, if desparate and physically active at work have an extra spaced out pack.
I'm not bothered about conventional food but i do still miss it but I rather see what i can achieve, how far i will go and push myself on to the next day.

Ketosis is good but i do wonder if there are any added secret mood lifting ingredients in the packs! :)

Starreaching · 27/01/2012 19:36

Thank you Gloriana, Overtired and GFGW. Wow, this is such a welcoming board!

Cockneydad we're starting at about the same time hopefully! I'm worried about the first few days too - really worried! I don't think I've ever actually felt hungry! Blush.

It will be a new experience but think how glad we'll be when the weight starts to vanish!

Thank you everyone for having me :)

GoingForGoalWeight · 27/01/2012 19:37

Thanks overtiredmum xx

8lb to go until target! oooh gosh you've done brilliantly! i hope you feel really proud and pleased x

OP posts:
Overtiredmum · 27/01/2012 19:52

Not 8 lbs - I wish! 1 stone and 8lbs, so 22lbs in total to go, but I think I will carry on and make it another 2 stone.

GoingForGoalWeight · 27/01/2012 20:10

Oh! Grin

Still be off in no time and in time for the Summer. I'm looking forward to it this year.
