Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

Hey kid - it gets better girl. When little kid it three THE best game is chasing/finding hairballs about the house with the vacuum long hose. Being little they can get right down there among it under the sofa/kitchen table. Till then, just open your front door and your back door on a breezy day and hey prest! a self cleaning house [hwink]

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/10/2011 07:56

Well done all! Going to be few weeks yet til I'm a 10st-something I think, as am losing it really slowly now I'm almost at target. And am off to Devon on the w/e so can't see me doing well next week (although will try to be good).

Think I might buy the latest SW mag later for some inspiration and motivation.

Yes please ria - would love the rice recipe when you've got time to post it.

Have a good day all.

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 20/10/2011 10:06

obrigada · 20/10/2011 10:29

Morning all [hsmile], still a bit sore and tender after my aerobics/yoga class on Tuesday night, have decided to stick with SW although won't be going to classes as I don't find the leader very approachable!

obrigada · 20/10/2011 10:52

Posted too soon [hblush], will be getting weighed by friend next Tuesday so will post my stats then if that's ok.
So far today I have had Special K with skimmed milk for brekkie, a banana as snack. For lunch going to have scrambled egg, bacon, mushrooms and tomato.
Do you have to count Special K as syns or is it ok to have for brekkie??

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 20/10/2011 11:12

Obrigada the SW web site is not playing ball at the moment so I'm not sure if Special K is on the healthy extra B list. I do pay to go to group but just walk in to be weighed and walk out again as my consultant is....::coughs and looks a but embarrassed:: away with the faries Grin.

I really needed the incentive of being officially weighted each week.

I'm really hungry I think I will have a mini snackette of ryvita and cheese triangle. I'd rather have a [hbiscuit]

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 20/10/2011 11:34

Special K doesn't seem to be on the healthy Extra list it is 4.5 syns for 25g!!

obrigada · 20/10/2011 11:44

Thanks for looking that up Hedge, I have a friend who has professional weighing scales and she has said she will weigh me every Tuesday night, really didn't see the point in continuing to pay at SW as the woman over the class barely acknowledged you being there and seemed to spend her time fawning over a select few!

grimRiaper · 20/10/2011 11:55

thank you for all my congratulations, am feeling quite Blush.

will post some recipes tonight

have to go to work in a minute, wish I didn't as feel rubbish. think my sinuses are bad. also I want to stay at home and continue mucking out DS1s pit. I'm sure I saw a floorboard earlier. Hope find his DS which has been missing for a Very Long Time.

had poached egg, hobbit toast and a banana for breakfast, lunch will be chicken with couscous and salad... not sure about tonight as DH has promised the boys a trip to the farm to play in the stables.

GTG, nearly late for work!

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2011 12:07

PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT HOBBIT TOAST IS?

Handily I loathe chocolate orange. Tis the ruining of 2 perfectly nice flavours to put them together.

obrigada · 20/10/2011 12:15

Don't quote me CantSleep but think hobbit toast is the weightwatchers bread!

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 20/10/2011 12:26

Hobbit toast is bread from a small wholemeal (400g) loaf you can have 2 slices as a HEB, so psychologically it is better than 1 slice of normal wholemeal Grin.

tbh obrigada if I had found this lovely thread when I was starting I would have probably just joined online to get access to the website etc and not bothered with the group, but what I'm doing is working so I'm loacth to change it.

Ria sorry you are feeling pants have you got any decongestant?

obrigada · 20/10/2011 14:20

If it's working for you Hedge then definitely don't change it. I am more of a blend in the background person (hopefully some day soon that will change [hhmm]) and I feel that because of that the woman in charge of SW group didn't feel she had to make any effort with me.

Birdiegirl · 20/10/2011 15:17

Hi all,

Well done on the weight losses they are brilliant.

Hopefully I'll have good numbers to add to it next week too. But at 6 weeks PG not sure if I should expect big losses or any loss for that matter - I'm just hoping that following SW will stop me blowing up like a balloon :o

Have any of you followed SW whilst PG?

I'm still a bit concerned that I'm eating too much - I hope not as I am really loving it so far - so less restrictive than WW, if this works for me I can't ever see myself going back to WW!

My menu today is

B: 3 Scrambled Eggs, 1 slice Wholemeal Toast
S: Banana, 3 Plums
L: Baked Potato, Baked Beans and Poached Chicken Breast
S: Orange, Kiwi, Apple
D: Lean Grilled Steak, Boiled Potatoes, Cabbage, Carrots, Onions & Mushrooms with Bisto (3 syns?)
M: 250ml Semi-Skimmed.

Also one last question (for now anyway) - Are all Mullerlight yogurts free or is it just the Vanilla one? And is it okay to have one with a Free Fruit Salad as a snack between meals or should I stick to fruit only?

Thanks, B.x

obrigada · 20/10/2011 15:33

Hi Birdie, only really starting out myself so not much good on the advice front, do want to say that I am liking your food plans, you and I seem to have similar taste re food so I really hope it works for you [hgrin]. Not much good at meal planning so might steal some of your ideas [hwink]

Going to try your dinner from yesterday but with shop bought (i.e. add milk to powder and boil) white sauce so if any one can let me know how many syns there is in this sauce this I would be really grateful ?? (will be using skimmed milk)

Birdiegirl · 20/10/2011 16:31

Hi Obrigada,

I made the white sauce with 15g flour / 20g Low fat spread and 250ml of Skimmed milk - I had about 1/3 of the sauce - tried to do a bit of calcution using the books but still wasn't 100% sure what to give it so allowed 10 syns - hopefully that should cover it!

I don't have my book with me today in work but I think there is a syn value for packet white sauce in it - HTH. Enjoy your dinner, I'm looking forward to getting home to get mine!

kid · 20/10/2011 17:30

I'm sitting here thinking about what I can cook for dinner and dreading going to the gym tonight. My feet are in agony as I wore new boots today, big mistake!

I got a 40% discount voucher from the best Indian restaurant around. I am trying my hardest to resist the temptation to place an order, but its soooooooo hard Grin

Looking forward to trying some new recipes, just waiting for people to post them lol

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2011 18:16

4 syns for low fat spread. 3 for flour. 6 i think for milk. So 13 total means your 1/3 was at worst 4 syns :).

I did sw when pregnant with my first. I lost lots until 3rd trimester, when I piled a load on, so ended my pregnancy about the same as I started it.

I can't eat yogurt, so others are prob better to advise, but my understanding is that all of the mullerlight fruit ones are free, but some of the fancier ones (cheesecake etc) have some syns. Perfectly fine to have one with a fruit salad (still maintains the 1/3 to 2/3 proportion if on extra easy day).

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2011 18:20

Thank you for explanation re hobbit toast :). I am buying the small loaves myself. Goodness knows why we can have 3 slices of WW brown danish but only 2 of brown nimble, as the nutritional info is almost identical Confused.

Rubbish re new boots Kid. I hate sore feet.

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 20/10/2011 18:38

from the book
packet white sauce made with skimmed milk - 3 level tbsp = 1.5 syn or 142ml = 4.0 syn
packet white sauce made with Whole milk - 3 level tbsp = 2.0 syn or 142ml = 6.0 syn

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 20/10/2011 18:40

x-post CSWS, I have long ago thrown my scientific hat out when trying to understand the syn calculations I just know it's working [hgrin]

LittlePushka · 20/10/2011 20:50

Evening all! Hey Birdie - when I started SW i used to stockplie free food in my office (just like me granny after rationing stopped) in case I could not make it until lunch at 1pm. I have never eaten so many satsumas in my life! All my files now have a feint orange whiff!

(CSWS - Chocolate and orange was ordained by the Lord God Himself....its in the Bible at the bit where he shares the fish (for SW followers) and the bread (for theskinny billinies). he chucks in a coulple of segments for the days syns. Honest,...its true. And Hallelujah for that!!

Did somebody mention Dirty K??? Grrr. I remember the self-strop I had when I realised that it was outlawed with a ridiculously high sin balue for what amounted to about thirteen flakes. It has profoundly affected me for life....every time I see a fox in a red frock I want to lamp her one and say "YOU CANT POSSIBLY JUST EAT THIS - DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY SINS THERE ARE IN ONE BOX????"

Sliky my lovely - how was the best ad final offer?

B Crunchy Bran
L Cuppa soup (I know, it is just water with attitude)
D jacket spud teeny bit of butter

Four party rings (testing 'em for the my party tea [hwink])

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2011 21:25

No no no Pushka. You have got choc orange and marzipan confused, clearly.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2011 21:28

Sausages. Can we talk about them please? Which ones are actually nice but also very low in syns? I tried WW ones which I think are 1/2 a syn each, but they tasted purely of pepper, and were so vile that I left them. This morning I tried some lean waitrose ones, which are 2 syns each. They were nice, and currently in the lead in my sausage ranking. But I'd like to find some nice ones that are 1 syn or less ideally so that I can eat twice as many.
