Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

Morning all!

Tis DoD so please PM me if you want to appear in tonights list Smile

Hope dd is less trotty soon Cheese.

Well, I'd love to say that ds slept properly, but he didn't. Woke at 11.30 and came into bed until 3.30, then was awake for an hour, then went back into his cot until he woke shrieking at 7.30. So not too bad I suppose. Dd was an angel and slept through.

H has already phoned me on the house phone (wanting to know why I han't answered texts/mobile calls yet - it was on silent!). I am to collect him later, and then he has no work for the rest of the week apparently. Can't you just feel my enthusiasm pouring through the screen Grin

Hedge I will enjoy the shopping ta, and will be actively avoiding the sweetie isle!

Catch you all later.

Morning all

Been lurking these past few days; we accepted the offer on our house yesterday (after much negotiating) and put in a (cheeky) offer on the house we want, so it's all very exciting!

Welcome Birdie - agree with the rest of the team, 5 stone is astounding, well done, and congrats on the BFP too! When are you due? You can eat a ridiculous amount of (healthy) food on SW so you definitely won't go hungry.

hedge I'm sure I dreamt of Quality Street last night thanks to you! And I'm already pondering the Syn value of mulled wine, Baileys/Bailey's Haagen Dazs, mince pies and all things Christmassy thanks to you.

cheese bad news about DD, hope it's just a 24 thing and she's back to normal soon. Good luck with the house viewing, 'tis fun isn't it? Smile

I gave DS some left-over shepherd's pie last night, forgetting it was made with quorn mince Blush. He probably only had the equivalent of two tablespoons, but it went straight through him!

bee Can't belive your dh, definitely don't feel bad about the buying the dc some toys. Glad ds wasn't tooooo bad last night. If your dh isn't working the next few days, maybe he'll give you a big hand around the house with the chores/kids? [hopeful emoticon]

Food for the day:

B: weetabix
L: left-over Quorn shepherd's pie with veg
D: Er, in the interest of economy, I'm going to cobble something together with whatever's lurking in the freezer (think onion rings, chips and quorn sausages?!).

Good luck for DoD (TM) peeps! And sorry for long post...really should post more often instead of mammoth ones every few days.

P.S Anyone seen Pushka lately?

obrigada · 19/10/2011 10:17

Morning all [hsmile]
Still haven't managed to weigh myself or get started properly on weight loss programme, went to my first yoga class last night, first half aerobic second half yoga. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Just need to get my butt in gear with regards dieting.
Joined SW earlier in the year but gave up after a couple of weeks as I didn't find the person in charge in any way friendly or encouraging except to a select few.
Am seriously considering joining weight watchers tomorrow night [hconfused]

Birdiegirl · 19/10/2011 10:21

Hi all,

Thanks for the nice welcome, looking forward to getting to know you all.

Went to my first SW class last night - so trying to get my head around the plan today - I'm still a bit confused about a few things but hopefully it'll become clearer as time goes on.

Today's menu is:-

B: 3 Scrambled Eggs & 1 Slice W'Meal toast
S: 1 Banana
L: Baked Potato with Large tin Baked Beans
S: 2 Plums, 1 Orange, 1 Kiwi
D: Poached Chicken Breast, Boiled Potato, Cabbage & Carrots
(Homemade white sauce - not sure how many syns)
M: 250ml Semi-Skimmed milk for the day.

LakeFlyPie · 19/10/2011 11:18

Morning all Smile

Another week of plodding on SW-wise, a loss is a loss etc.
Think I'm just warming up for Nov bootcamp Grin

Hope you're having a good visit with your DSis cheese and DD isn't sick.
DS2 threw up twice this morning so am crossing my fingers it was a one off and we're not in for a 24 hour puke fest.

I'd keep hungover DH waiting bee and have a list of house jobs he can be getting through whilst he's got time off work. He could even take the DC out whilst you have a well earned siesta Smile
Will pm my stats, thanks for doing list this week.

Ria it looks like you're really in SW zone ATM, good work!
Your food always sounds good, how did you do your pilau creation ? yesterday?

Slink v exciting news about house, it's a nail biting stage to be at, hope all goes well.

Welcome birdie

and yes, where is Pushka????

Will try and get some cooking done so have got some meals in fridge / freezer and am organised as it's when I'm not that consumption goes a bit awry.
It's really cold here today so time to get a cauldron of soup (veg or lentil) going I reckon.

BF: Cinnamon porridge + banana +coffee
L: Leftover pasta or beans on toast
D: JP + chilli + salad
Snacks: Need to get some fruit today, hoping to find some good satsumas at greengrocers as it's coming up to that time of year. What else is good fruit wise ATM?

Birdiegirl · 19/10/2011 11:49

Hi Lake -

Tesco's have some good offers on fruit at the moment - particularly pineapples and melons - but most of their fruit seems to be reduced so I went mad this week and got loads of different stuff so hopefully it'll do the trick.

Regards, B.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/10/2011 12:37

Mangoes are yummy this time of year - omm nom nom.

birdie - how do you make your white sauce? Flour v high in syns - 4.5 for 25g, so go easy with it!

grinningzombee · 19/10/2011 13:01

Just back from Sainsbury's and they have offers on fruit as well - buy 1 bag get 1 free on various things, so I got a bag of Cox's apples (my favourite) and a bag of satsumas for £2.19 (I think). Pretty good!

I've just tried both of the dc on tomato soup for the first time. They seemed to like it... but now I know why I hadn't done it before. That stuff is toxic orange! Grin

OP posts:
Slinkenstein · 19/10/2011 13:09

Ok, our first offer has been turned down, so we've gone back with a "best and final" offer and I now feel sick! Partly because we can actually go higher than the "best and final" if we really needed to, but we want to buy the house we want, at the price we want. If they turn it down, we've just got to sweat it out/move on Sad. Tense times..I'm almost too nervous and excited to eat my lunch.

I said almost Grin

Just had a satsuma from Sainsbury's and they're very nice, and the cox's apples are nice and sweet.

grinningzombee · 19/10/2011 13:35

Fingers crossed for you Slinky. If it goes on for a few days you'll be top of the weightloss list next week Wink.

The local primary school is having an open day tomorrow, so I've decided to go along and have a look. It is literally just round the corner from me. I can't believe I'll have to be applying next year for dd, but at least it's a while off yet.

OP posts:
WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 19/10/2011 13:37

woot we got our planning permission I am so excited, I will get a kitchen that is bigger than a cupboard. That's it for now byee

MadameBoo · 19/10/2011 13:58

Weight Watchers was hilarious. Little Britain stylee woman - even down to the hair and being slightly on the plump side :o

She asked questions and didn't let anyone get a word in! I just played with my friend's 7 month old sat at the back. :o

So far today I've had porridge with raisins (skimmed milk - but will use water from tomorrow), an apple, chicken salad with rocket and cucumber, one tablespoon of houmus, one slice wholemeal bread with one teaspoon philadelphia light. Not sure what the points total is yet - am trying to get to grips with it all.

Brill news about the kitchen hedge.

grinningzombee · 19/10/2011 14:16

Yay Hedge! More room to store tins of Celebrations and Quality Street Wink

The new issue of Sw magazine has helpfully put the syn values of various Xmas goodies. I was better off not knowing to be honest!

Is anyone else planning to take a week off of Sw over Xmas? Or is it just piggy me?

OP posts:
grinningzombee · 19/10/2011 14:36

Right, before I go and retrieve my husband, anyone else want to join in the list tonight? I am missing a few - Pushka, Sofabitch, Ria. I'm sure there are more of you lurking out there .

Ok, going to get the dc shoed and coated.

Back later!

OP posts:
grimRiaper · 19/10/2011 16:45

back in one piece from the sponsored walk. Around 6 miles. The kids were really good, and we had sunshiney, if a bit "fresh" weather.

grinningzombee · 19/10/2011 17:35

Ooooh, now why didn't I think of getting that Grin

Big congrats on the sponsored walk. Bet that was nice in the sun. Jealous of the beach too Envy. And you deserve a vat of wine tonight. You've done amazingly this week!!

Any more takers for the list tonight? I'll post it a bit later after the dc are in bed.

OP posts:

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/10/2011 21:09

Golly ria - how on earth have you managed to lose 6lbs in a week? That's phenominal!
I have very very few syns (mostly where I've had to sub a non-dairy product), go to the gym generally 3 times a week and am breastfeeding 2 children, and yet I only lost 2lbs!

Well done everybody - a good set of results again this week :).

I bought the 'extra easy meals in minutes' book at group last night. There are a few things that sound/look nice in there. Has anyone made anything from it that they would recommend/not recommend?

kid · 19/10/2011 21:34

WOW, 6lb loss. I think you should meal plan/cook for me!
I appreciate the excuse of me not being well. I have had to skip several sessions at the gym which I'm a little but gutted about but I figured I needed to get better before half killing myself. I'm going back tomorrow night, even if I am not 100% better.

Well done to everyone on their results. I was slightly tempted to skip posting my results but figured there was nothing to gain.
I really need to sort it out. I've not been meal planning and I haven't been shopping so I don't really have a plan to follow at the moment.
Let us know if that new EE meal book is any good.
I think I'll pick up the new magazine (if its out in Sainsburys)

grimRiaper · 19/10/2011 22:15

the new mag wasn't in tesco Kid, as I was going to buy it if it was. your 1lb will soon come off, poorliness is grim.

have to confess I have only had a loss because I have actually stuck to it almost 100% for a change, and I have a lot to lose. I have done no exercise apart from walking in town at the weekend (20 mins brisk), and to and from school a few times (but not every time).

well done everyone on your losses Smile

took DS1 to band rehersal (and stayed with him tonight to help him read his music, as he is only just getting to grips with scores and stuff) then did the Tesco shop. Missed all the reduced fruit and veg this weekSad (got 2 bags of apples for 25p each, and 3 x 2.5kg bags of baking potatoes for 15p each last week). They didn't have any of the £1 clothing bargains promised on the MSE email thoughSad. I am glad to be finally sitting down with my first second glass of wine.

grimRiaper · 19/10/2011 22:23

oh, the carrot and mushroom pilau rice is in the SW best ever recipes book. can post recipe when I locate the book if anyone's interested. It really made the curry (as I did something to make that oddBlush)

kid, you really wouldn't want me to cook for you! My being "Ria" is not a co-incidence!!! Am quite good at planning though as it involves listsWink

LittlePushka · 19/10/2011 22:59

Pushka sneaks into class,...late as usual,.... lost 1lb so now 11st 1lb. I am having a party when I become a ten stone something - you will all be invited [hgrin].

Especially you bee - I am sorry to hear that your DH is where he is. I am sureyou must feel very alone at times...and understandaby angry. keep your nostrils just above the water my lovely - and keep on doing what you know to be right for your family. Dont know how to send you a hug so have these instead ThanksWineBrew _not wine actually, not good example for your Dh, give it back and have another Brew and more Thanks Thanks instead!

Well then Your Royal Slinkiness? Did the Queen agree to flog you Balmoral for a snip at £8m? (I would just rent a room or two from her acutally - Lord knows she could do with the income now that Prince Philip's investments in his motherland have gone belly up since greece went bust. (Was that him on the news petrol bombing the police against austerity measures?...or did he sent his valet to do it on his behalf?). Hope your offer is accepted. How exciting?!

Love the thought of extending a kitchen to create a Quality Street Annexe!!!

Been to Zumba tonight. My arms do the zumba class and my legs do the yoga class next door.Confused Still,...I managed not to wee myself so technically that is a result.( Wonder if this qualifies me to appear on "Trophy Wives" on SkyLivingLoves later tonight????). At this rate by Christmas I will have a pelvic floor like a bulldog clip.

Lake - just a word on the fruit bargains - Tesco have a BOGOF offer on Chocolate Oranges...... What? What? (Bee started it with her kitchen for Hedge.)

kid · 19/10/2011 23:00

tbh ria, I'd be happy for anyone to cook for me!
I'm just so exhausted at the moment, I can't even be bothered to sweep the stairs let alone cook meals. We don't have carpets (laminate throughout house) and we have a springer spaniel so the house is constantly covered in hairs. I do keep picking up big balls of hair but I haven't used the broom for a few days.

I will be glad when Friday is over as that means 1 week off work, phew. I'm not sure how many more days I could cope with doing at work. I just want to rest.

I'm happy to try some new recipes if you can dig out the book. I am tired of my other recipes now, maybe if I have new recipes to try out, then I might actually do some cooking.

LittlePushka · 19/10/2011 23:01

And well done Ria by the way - out of the traps like a rat up a drainpipe with that loss![hgrin]
