Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

I was very bad tonight and didn't go to group as I jumped on the scales at home and I'd put on so I thought I'd save my fiver tonight and spend it wisely on veg and fruit and kick arse tomorrow
Had a bad week as have had my 2 young DS's with vomitting/diaroheaa bug which has been horrendous so meal planning had gone out the window
Back on track next week though!

Oh sleep training! My eldest was so easy but DS2 was horrific. I ended up biting the bullet though and putting him in with DS1 who amazingly managed to sleep through most of it but still remember the horror of it all Sad

kid · 30/11/2011 23:33

I'm not weighing in until after Xmas now, happy to start up again on the 4th (I think thats the date that was mentioned)

I have been having such a lovely week here. The weekend seemed to last forever so that was good. I was at work Mon and Tues but was on strike today so thats broken the week up lovely!

My house is in order which I think makes me feel better, my kids are being quite good for me (makes a nice change!) and I am starting to get ideas about what to get people for xmas. I haven't got anything yet, but at least I have an idea.

I also got good news at work regarding my wages so I guess that adds to it. I do worry when things seem to be going so well though, I sometimes worry that something is lurking around the corner to bring me down a peg or two. Lets hope thats not the case.

I've not been out jogging lately, I'm too scared to be running through the streets on my own. I think I should use the treadmill at the gym, much safer than the dark streets or deserted park. I also need to get back to the gym classes. My reliable gym buddy has started to let me down too but hopefully I've put the guilt trip on enough to make her start coming again Grin I think tomorrow will be out of the question as I'm working late and doubt I'll make it in time. Oh well, missing another session won't make a massive difference.

Best get to bed, early start and long day tomorrow. Hope those with nightowl babies get some sleep tonight. It definitely won't last forever, but I know that doesn't take away the tiredness you are suffering now.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/12/2011 00:44

Shit I forgot the list. So sorry, have had a crap day with DD then had to come home early from our night out. My Sis is asleep in the study but I will do it tomorrow.

Apologies all xx

grinningbee · 01/12/2011 08:24

Kid glad things are on the up, and fab news re the wages! If you don't ask, you don't get. Smile

Cheese don't worry about it! Sorry dd is still not right, but glad your sister is home.

Both dc got up last night. Dd bless her was really hot and sweaty, but after some Calpol and a story she seemed to settle, and so far today seems in good spirits. The chocolate advent calender may have something to do with that Grin. Ds is being driven demented by his teeth poor sausage. He's biting anything and everything. Usually my arms or legs though - whatever bit is closest!

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
The usual
Left over pork meatballs and veggies

We had some wine the other night, and although within syns it would seem that it's alcohol that makes me hold on to weight. I'm heavier by a little bit than when I weighed in, although I'm hoping it'll shift by next week.

Hope everyone is ok today Smile

pixiestix · 01/12/2011 09:36

Don't worry about it Cheese - you have got a bit of a hectic time of it going on from the sounds of it Confused Hope DD chirps up soon.

My DD is the same re biting Bee. Now that her front teeth are all through she has taken to biting peoples knees and fingers! Its soooo irritating.

I know I shouldn't weigh every day but I seem to have gained half a pound overnight Angry No reason for it at all so hopefully its all water weight. Have got my RL weigh in tonight so don't need that at all.

B: Fruit and yoghurt
L: Beans on toast
D: Shepherd's pie without the topping

pixiestix · 01/12/2011 12:02

Cheese just read that back and it sounds really patronising Blush I didn't mean it like that at all, honest! I meant, well its no bloody wonder given that you've got a poorly baby and have just come back from a big holiday and you must be knackered and you have my sympathies Blush

grinningbee · 01/12/2011 15:02

Pixie stop panicking! I didn't read it as patronising, and I'm sure Cheese won't either.

Just realised I totally forgot to have my breakfast. What a clown! Was so busy getting the dc ready, then went straight out food shopping. Came back, all packed away, then it was lunch time. Ah well!

Off to start a thread about making an Xmas cake, so if anyone is good with baking and tin sizes, come on over and see if you can help, if you don't mind that is Grin

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/12/2011 15:10

Pixie - try making the pie topping from butternut squash (plus carrot or swede if you fancy), then it's still free on red but doesn't feel like you're only having half a meal!

grinningbee · 01/12/2011 15:26

I'll second the butternut squash topping. It's gorgeous! As is mashed carrot and swede together... yum yum yum.

The only pain in the bum is peeling a butternut squash. Worth the effort though Smile

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/12/2011 16:04

Oh god - don't bother peeling the squash! Cut it in half lengthways and roast it flesh side down with a squirt of fry light, then just scoop the roasted flesh out.

grinningbee · 01/12/2011 16:09

Ooooh, that's a better idea! How long do you roast it for? I'd use it more often if it's easier than peeling.

Grin
Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/12/2011 16:55

Sparkly stickers to CSWS for a 1.5stone loss, to bee for losing over 4 stone and for slinky for now being a skinny 10stoner!

Boohiss to cheese for eating like a pig in USA!

grinningbee · 01/12/2011 17:28

Slinky!!! High five to you, and after that trip to Frankfurt too... Envy. Seriously though, well done.

And Cheese you were in the USA for a whole week and only put on 3lb? Again Envy. You know it'll just come off again.

CSWS Yay for the 1.5st sticker Smile

My tummy is rumbling just thinking of all the lovely overseas food

3 weigh-ins left folks! Eeeek. I am hoping that even with going out this week and next week I'll be able to lose the last 2lb of my Xmas goal. We shall have to see! Lentil Pie is on the menu again soon Wink

Well done everybody Smile

Hedgepig · 01/12/2011 21:05

flipping heck Bee good on U girl Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/12/2011 22:56

Urgh, well tonight is another flipping disaster so far. DD driving me insane. We've Been doing CC for 2hrs now an she's still going. I'm so bloody exhausted and don't think I can do another bad night. I don't understand, she was such a good sleeper and slept 7-7, now she barely does 2-3hrs at a time Sad there's nothing wrong as when we go in she stops crying. Aaaah!

Rant over. Well done bee and slinky again!

grinningbee · 01/12/2011 23:19

Oh Cheese Sad. It really is horrible, isn't it. Hope she settles soon and gives her mummy a break.

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/12/2011 07:30

Stopping crying when you go in doesn't necessarily mean nothing wrong cheese - she might just be relieved because she thinks that you will fix whatever it is. Remind me how old she is? Hope she slept better once she eventually went off.

SlinkyB · 02/12/2011 08:47

Cheers everyone! It's nothing short of miraculous tbh...starting to think I might actually have a thyroid problem?! Xmas Hmm Either that or it's the lentil pie andlots of chasing round after ds! I can confirm life in the ten-stone bracket (just!!) is great (have been shouting it from the rooftops) ...but I just know it will be fleeting for me! Ah well.

Bloody well done bee, 5lbs in one week is amazing, and well done CSWS on your sparkly 1.5st sticker! Will you be having a small treat in celebration?

Oh cheese you poor thing, seems it's one thing after another right now doesn't it? Could it be 9 month spurt/sleep regression/separation anxiety thing? Ds did this for a few nights, just getting used to being more mobile and standing. Is she fidgeting a lot in her cot? They really test your patience don't they?! Xmas Angry. S'pose it makes a change from testing patients?! Xmas Smile.

Have a good day all, another busy one here then a relaxing weekend planned.

pixiestix · 02/12/2011 09:16

Bloody hell Bee that is a storming loss!! I'm going to have to make a few colonic pies this week, I think - I've never lost 5lbs in a single week. Not even week 1!! You are definitely going to hit your Christmas target. Wow!

Well done Slinky and CSWS! I'm very jealous of all the sparkly stickers - I have been chasing my three stone sticker for what feels like months.

Oh Cheese you poor thing Sad No advice, just lots of sympathy. It is a phase and it will pass soon.

Weighed in at group last night and was Angry because despite having a really angelic week I still didn't make the mini target of 2lbs I had set myself. I have been trying to get under 10 stone for forever - actually for the whole of my twenties Confused and I thought I would do it yesterday, but no. Just have to try really hard this week, despite a lunch and a dinner out with friends Confused (And if 10 stone doesn't sound a lot please bear in mind that I am a dwarf 5ft 1 and so my "ideal" weight is about 8st 7. As if!!!)

Thanks for the butternut squash advice, sounds yummy!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 02/12/2011 10:33

Urgh tired tired. DD had 4 hours sleep - must be jet lag! FIL doing my head in, he's already come out with "a woman's work is never done" and other such classics. It's going to be a long day!!

Hope everyone has a good day!

keepingitRia · 02/12/2011 11:27

just markng my place. try to catch up laer.

Huffpot · 02/12/2011 11:53

Wow - great results for everyone! Am thinking I need to start eating lentil pie too!

grinningbee · 02/12/2011 21:34

Evening everyone!

Thanks everyone for commenting on the loss this week. Thing is, I'm really not sure how it was so much. I did put on 1.5lb the week before though, so feel like I cheated...

Anyway. Yes, colonic pie coming up this week as I really want to get to my mini target. I am still freezing from being out most of the day pootling around the shops and getting a couple more bits and bobs. Got a few stocking bits for the dc. I just need to learn that taking dd into the Early Learning shop is a Bad Idea. Mega tantrum and tears trying to get her back out!

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Nothing (bad me)
Sweet chilli chicken and lots of roasted veggies

Pixie I am only 5ft 3, so I get it about wanting to go under 10st. I dread to think what my actual supposed ideal weight is...

grinningbee · 03/12/2011 09:47

Morning everyone

There's a bit of an atmosphere in the Bee house today. Not good. I've been up with ds since 4am, but that's ok. Dh had two of his funny turns yesterday, and has had another 2 so far this morning. Then he got arsey over me not letting him go out on his own with the dc in the car. I'm afraid I was a bit blunt, and said would he rather have live or dead dc Sad. So stupid of me. Needless to say, he isn't happy.

We're supposed to be going out for dinner tonight...

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Probably toast
Out for dinner possibly, if not then it's sweet chilli chicken

keepingitRia · 03/12/2011 12:06

morning all.

sorry you have an atmosphere to contend with bee.

I have also been awake since 4am, got up at half past and did some ironing.

am meant to be mucking out the boys room (if it's tidy they'll sleep in their own beds right?Hmm) but just had a phonecall from my mum to tell me to read an email she's sent me, and it hasn't come yet (in the time I've been sat here waiting catching up on the thread I could have walked to
her house and read it)
