Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

OP posts:
SlinkyB · 24/11/2011 13:36

Can't believe that woman bee! How bloody rude?! Sounds like ds is putting a smile back on your face though; video on fb maybe please?! Babies laughing always make me smile Grin.

So hedge the race to the Ten Stone Zone is on!! I'm normally a fairly determined, slightly competitive character...but it's almost December ffs. This is going to be mission impossible. Maybe I'll review my target, to not going back to 12st by Jan?! Wink

Well done losers, keep up the good work!

kid · 24/11/2011 16:47

I'm feeling quite sore after my jog yesterday, but its a good sore as I can still move yet I can feel I've had a work out.
I'm not even going to think about what I've been eating lately!

The fridge and freezer is no more. I have finally given in and switched it off at the wall and thrown the entire contents of the freezer in the bin Sad
I'm glad I did it though as a loaf of bread in the bottom freezer drawer felt like it had come out of the bread bin rather than the freezer and there were some soft, liquidy chicken breasts and fish. I am surprised the place didn't stink!
Anyway, all the food has gone so I have no idea what to do for dinner. We don't even have any milk so I am even more desperate for a cup of tea than usual.
On the positive side, at least I don't have to get up during the night to reset the alarm. It went off twice last night, 1am and 5am.

I am shocked about the bag lady bee. I would have pulled the bags out of her hand and dumped them on the floor or under my feet. Or maybe put them on her head! The cheek of her! I am amazed you held it together and didn't commit murder.

I had a lovely birthday, went out for a meal, had some wine and cake. It was even a lovely day at work so all in all, a very nice birthday. Smile

LakeFlyPie · 25/11/2011 00:06

Hi all Smile

Missed another DOD Blush but am still creeping along in the vague direction of target.

Well done to all the losers and all the exercisers, would love to join the race to the 10 stone zone but fear I may be bringing up the rear (so to speak).
Will get there eventually and determined not to let Christmas troughing do too much damage.

Have STS this week which is better than a gain, but not much of November left for miraculous boot camp style loss I fear.

As usual need to peruse back through the thread properly to catch up with everyone.

Bee, happy birthday to your DS. He is a day older than DS2, can't believe they are 1, where did the last 12 months go? Grin
Mines a nightmare rather unsettled sleeper too

Food planning still not quite on track but lots of fruit in fridge and big pan of veg soup on hob so not all bad.

grinningbee · 25/11/2011 02:22

Hi Lake Happy Birthday to your ds as well! I'm sure I don't know where the time went - one thing I do know is it wasn't spent sleeping!

Yep, we're up yet again. I am trying to get some cough mixture down him but he won't have it. Dh helpfully told ds to shut up Hmm. So now I'm in another room with baby tv on waiting for my chance to try the medicine again, or for him to get tired whichever comes first.

Huffpot · 25/11/2011 09:02

Hi all, wondering if I can join in?
This is my 5th week on SW and have loads to lose but so far it's working-yippee! I got my half stone award this week and am hoping to get my first stone award next week.
Am still getting my head around it but very impressed so far :D

grinningbee · 25/11/2011 14:38

Welcome Huffpot! pull up a comfy chair and make yourself at home Smile Sounds like you're doing well. Feel free to ask any questions, and a read back of the thread should show you how the weekly weigh in works. If not, shout Grin

Sorry I've not been around so far yet today. Had a man dressed up in a hazmat suit and facemask here removing some crumbling soffits from our roof that have asbestos in. Some had gone into the garden and he says it is unsafe for the dc Sad. He did spend ages picking it all up. Only problem now is that they've removed the damaged panels and not replaced them, so you can see the eaves of the roof from underneath.

Come on in spiders - it's party time Shock. When I saw all the thick black webs hanging down he said "oooh, I bet you've got some monsters in there". No no no no no! Do not tell me that!

So, they need to replace the roof felt, which mean taking 3 rows of tiles off each side, but this probably won't be done for some weeks... meanwhile, we have the sodding great big hole for anything to crawl or fly into. As it's a bungalow anything could bloody well crawl in.

Ahem, anyway! Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
The usual Wink
Beef rogan josh and broccoli

kid · 25/11/2011 17:20

bee I'd have to find somewhere else to live while they carried out the work or they would have to remove all traces of the spiders too. I can not be doing with spiders sharing my house.
I was in the bath the other night and noticed one on the inside of the shower screen. I tried ignoring it while calmly calling DH to come and get it for me. But the the little sod decided to jump off its web towards me. Lets just say, I was out of the bath in record time and the floor was drenched! The spider ended up down the toilet so I hope all his friends learn a valuable lesson (not to enter my house!)

Not been a great day on SW but does the fact I went jogging tonight count?
I've done my second day on c25k and I feel so pleased and proud with myself.

Hedge I'm not sure which version I downloaded, I just followed a link on c25k.com for android phones and downloaded each week (9 in total) I figured if I didn't like that version, I'd just delete it and try another version. As long as they are free versions, I don't mind Grin

Chipskilartar · 26/11/2011 15:13

Hi huffpot,

I'm fairly new to SW and this thread too - started towards the end of October, so, like you, about 5 weeks in. I don't tend to post much, but lurk every now and then Blush.

Have a massive craving for cake and biscuits today, and have friends around tonight, so will be difficult to refrain from wine - will try tho!

grinningbee · 26/11/2011 21:01

Where is everybody???

I started my Xmas shopping today, and have got 4 people's presents out of the way. Yay!

And I got into a size 14 pair of jeans today!!!!!!!!!! Didn't buy them as they were too long and they didn't have the shorter ones (boo), but YAY all the same Grin I had to seriously refrain from doing a happy dance.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Nothing as I was shopping (bad me)
Leftover curry with broccoli

kid · 26/11/2011 21:08

well done bee, you should have done the happy dance!

I started xmas shopping today. I got 1 present and loads of clothes for DC, a necklace and gym top for myself and DH got a few jumpers too.
Still got so many presents to buy, its taking ages!

Huffpot · 27/11/2011 09:16

That's great Bee
What an amazing feeling - I would have been beaming for the rest of the day Grin

We were hoping to be away for Christmas which has fallen now due to the enormous cost of airfaresSad so I am terribly disorganised but ordered some pressies for DP online and have half an idea what I'm getting my DS's so it could be worse
Now just to get the christmas cards done!

SlinkyB · 27/11/2011 09:43

Guten Morgan! Er, I'm in Frankfürt using a funny German keyboard where the 'z' and 'y' are in opposite places, and I keep getting all sorts of weird and wonderful letters pop up! So apologies for anz tzpos ;-)

O!M!G! bee ! I'm soooo happy for you and the size 14 jeans! Victorz dance was definitely in order!

Umm, not even going to mention what Iäve been gorging on...ok, I will (please bear in mind I am stazing with a friend who is half-German/half-French, and her family are 'foodies'!). Schnitzel, currywurst, apfelwein, gluhwein, toasted nuts from the a-mazing Chritmas Markets, steak with garlic butter and dauphinoise (sp?!) potatoes, doughnuts, and lots of bread and cheese!! Heading home at lunchtime, think I'll skip weighing in this week?!

Hope zou're all doing better than me grin (can't find square brackets)

pixiestix · 27/11/2011 12:03

Hello DoDers! Smile

I have been AWOL for the whole of this thread Blush but I do keep checking to see how everybody is getting on and feeling very jealous of the ever-decreasing waistlines. If you will have me back I would love to start posting again as I'm in desperate need of a big kick up the behind.

Bee that is FANTASTIC about the size 14 jeans. I was so so happy when I finally got into a pair at the end of the summer. I haven't really lost anything since then so a size 12 is still an impossible dream but I still feel very happy with my size 14 bum! Your progress is so amazing - I can't believe you are still tolerating the cheese triangles on toast -you must have a will of iron!

Kid I'm glad you binned the freezer food, it sounds very dodgy Confused You would have been guaranteed food poisoning though - a quick and miserable way to lose a few pounds Wink

Hope you are enjoying the USA Cheese after the nightmare plane journey.

Hello to everyone I don't "know" yet.

I'll try my best to keep up now - its been a struggle, my internet access is so patchy and my weight loss has slowed to practically nothing so I have fallen off the radar a bit, but its time to get back on track before the Christmas carnage!

Hedgepig · 27/11/2011 12:19

morning, yawn I had both boys on bed with me last night and cripes they wriggle.

Well done on the jeans Bee and even better you know you can fit in them but you didn't have to part with any cash Grin.

Hows the fridge kid? I actually went for a run yesterday and ran 2 miles with only 1 stop so maybe I should just go for it rather than faffing with the c25k, never thought of downloading it to my phone

Slinky sounds like a delicious weekend Envy you have to live petal.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/11/2011 15:26

Ooh slinky - yum!
I did indulge in a glass of wine and some naughty nibbles at a friend's last night, but hopefully the 750cals I burned in the gym and swimming earlier in the day makes up for that.

Bee - fantastic re size 14 jeans. Do you mind if I ask what size you started off at?

Welcome huffpot and welcome back pixiestix.
I am just a couple of weeks ahead of you huffpot, and am aiming for my 1.5stone award this week. I do have a LOT to lose though.

I have got most of the presents for my 3, but no-one else yet. We are intending to cut down on who we buy for this year, so need to work out who I still do need to sort. Usually we buy for close to 30 children every year, even though there are none in our families Hmm.

pixiestix · 27/11/2011 15:58

30 children CSWS! Shock God, I would be bankrupt! We are having a low key Christmas this year as DD is 13 months and a lot of fuss would send her into total meltdown. I'm secretly really relieved at the thought of not spending masses of money on her - its been a hellish year financially.

I thought c25k was more for people totally new to running Hedge so if you can already do 2 miles then you should probably just go for it.

Food for today -
Bacon sandwich on hobbit bread
Prawn salad, a banana and a muller light
Roast chicken with veggies

Yum Smile

kid · 27/11/2011 17:58

The new fridge is lovely. We went shopping today and spent close to £200 to fill it.
For dinner, I cooked fresh salmon (minus the head and tail!) with steamed new potatoes and spinach. It was very nice.

Tomorrow is busy for me, I have to complete the first week of c25k and I have a gym class. I will sleep well tomorrow night that's for sure!

grinningbee · 27/11/2011 20:56

Hello everyone!

All a bit mad here. It's taken almost 2 hours to get ds to sleep, and dd is still awake now. Dh is reading her yet another story. Arrrgggh!

Sorry you had a bad night Hedge. I was up with ds from 3.30, got him back to sleep at 5.45 - then laid awake for bloody ages Hmm

Slinky all that food sounds very drool worthy. And I agree with Hedge you have to enjoy yourself every now and again (although maybe she want to beat you to the 10 stone club!! - just joking Smile)

CSWS That is a serious amount of toy shopping. Enough to give me the heebies anyway.

Pixie Welcome back! Nice to see you here again Smile

Kid So glad the new fridge is in and working, and bursting with goodies. Sounds like after all that exercise tomorrow you might want to climb into it to cool down!

Thank you for all the comments about the jeans. I was soooooo pleased Grin We went for lunch with Mil today, and she told me not to lose to much more weight Shock. I reckon another 2 stone should do it, or a minimum of 1.5 stone at the least.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Jacket potato and beans
Quorn chilli and rice

I am really hoping for a peaceful night, but I reckon I have as much chance of that as winning the lottery. Oh, and my horrible neighbour (I have one lovely one the other side) has ranted at dh tonight and f'ed about our children Sad. I want to move.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/11/2011 21:43

Sadly most of them are getting too old for 'toys' now, and I have no idea what to buy for teenagers (esp who come from comfortably off families). Last year we just did a load of itunes vouchers, but tbh I'd rather give the money (if I actually had it) to my friend whose 8 yr old has just been diagnosed with leukaemia. In fact maybe I'll put a note in a Christmas card to each family concerned explaining that that's what I'm doing. I think a big bunch of them would be mature enough to understand.

Food for today:
B: bacon, eggs, mushrooms, beans, mango, melon
L: banana
D: thin steak, potato wedges, broccoli, carrots, stringless beans. Grapes.
Will find a snack in a mo too.

grinningbee · 28/11/2011 07:52

Howdy do!

Well, what a grim night. Up at 2.50 with ds (after having him in bed with me as he cried as soon as I went to bed), got him back into bed at 5.20. He woke straight away and cried, so back into bed he came. I don't think I had any more than another hour after that. G.R.I.M.

Anyway. Off out in a bit to take dd to playgroup, then try a toy cull while she is out .

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
The usual
Left over quorn chilli and rice

I am hoping my weigh in tomorrow will have me back on track, but we'll see...

pixiestix · 28/11/2011 10:50

Morning!

We had a similar night Bee - DD has a cold and is a week post-MMR when the measles part of the vaccine kicks in so we were up from 2-5ish. Sad I can't remember the last time I felt like I had enough sleep and could get up and face the day in a bouncy Tigger-like way. Never mind, I am going to be good as gold with my food today and that will give me a boost!

B: Fruit and Muller light
L: Cheese on toast
D: Steak and kidney casserole

I will have definitely gained this week, hence me jumping back on to this thread, but am hoping for a decent loss next week if I get focussed again.

CSWS How sad about your friends DC Sad I think that giving all the money to them sounds like a lovely thing to do and that everyone would understand. I can't imagine anyone feeling resentful of losing their Xmas present in a situation like that Sad

grinningbee · 28/11/2011 11:26

CSWS I agree about thre present thing - no-one could begrudge donating their gift to someone who was poorly at Christmas. Very sad Sad.

Was it my imagination, or did someone ask what size I started out as? I tried a quick read back to look, but can't see who it was. Anyway, I was a 22/24 on top, and at my biggest a 26 on the bum end of things Sad. I was a weeble. Most places I think I'll still need a 16, but I can still think happy thoughts of fitting into the 14's Grin

Off to get dd shortly (it goes so fast!). In my sleep deprived state I idiotically said I'd take her to soft play this afternoon. What was I thinking!?!

Ah well. Hopefully it won't be too busy and I can have a cuppa while wrangling ds. That's if she remembers I said it.... Wink

SlinkyB · 28/11/2011 15:38

Hi again all, back home now and on the laptop. I had such a brilliant break in Frankfurt with my friend, now back home and back to reality - boo! Thanks for the wise words hedge, alterior motive or not Grin.

Forgot to say welcome to huffpot and welcome back to pixiestix - good to 'see' you here!

CSWS I would definitely give the money to your friend with the poorly child, how awful Sad.

bee another shocker of a night for you sleep-wise, grim indeed. Fingers crossed for a better night tonight. How is the ceiling holding up? Is it making your place much colder? Hope your stupid neighbour isn't bothering you too, grr.

Right, I'm off for a colonic...Oh, wait, I'll just make Shepherd's Lentil Pie instead ! Wink.

pixiestix · 28/11/2011 19:09

Quick question: does anyone know how many syns the New York Cheesecake Muller lights are? I don't think they're free but I'm hoping they aren't too awful as I've just eaten two Grin

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/11/2011 20:33

just checked the website pixie and it seems that they were 1 syn, but there is a 'new recipe' one that is only 1/2 syn.
