Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 22/11/2011 07:47

Morning all!

Kid yay for the football result! Looks like you're going to have to go to them all now Wink

I'm an equal opportunities chocolate eater Grin If it's around, there's an equal opportunity of me eating it GrinGrin

Well, I weighed in. Yep, I gained. Thankfully it wasn't by as much as I thought it might be, but it was enough. Never mind. I'm making Lentil Pie tomorrow I think! That'll sort it.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Leftover pork meatballs in spicy tomato and onion sauce, veggies

I must have put too much chilli in it yesterday. Nearly blew my head off!

Hedgepig · 22/11/2011 08:44

Hiya everyone, just saying hello, I keep trying to catch up before posting and then failing to post.
Ho-flipping-rah for the fridge Kid
Ria we loves yah grin so you have to stay even if you are not sticking to the plan. Maybe calorie counting combined with healthly eating would be a possibility? Calorie counting is not for me as I can't even remember my shoes some times Grin but different things suit different people at different times iyswim Confused
SlinkyB welcome back nice to see you and can I sniff your chocolate (that sounds a bit rude it wasn't meant to be) I love the smell of good chocolate, not that I ever eat the stuff you understand Wink

to food and beyond! (guess who's been watching Toy story at the weekend)
B Melon pear and yogurt (again)
L leftover pasta sauce and pasta
D Tortilla and something (we have a load of eggs )

have a good day all

SlinkyB · 22/11/2011 13:03

Right then, ds having his nap, so I can finally switch on laptop and post on here, hoorah! Can't put it on when he's around, as he's always pressing the buttons and pulling at the lead. Have just fitted one of those Ikea drawer lock thingy's bee recommended to the tv cabinet, he's not impressed!!

bee I'm so sorry your friends didn't so much as send a card for ds's 1st birthday, that's so disappointing Sad and Angry. Has the postie brought anything yet? And your other 'mate' peeing your money up the wall was out of order too, what a nightmare few days. Bummer about the gain, but at least you're back on track now Smile.

hedge you can sniff my chocolate any time! Just don't eat it; 'tis mine .

Arf at someone's suggestion I keep it til Christmas; as if! Half the box has disappeared already. Dp also bought ds (9.5 months) a little Lindt choccy santa?! I've told him he's too young, but he reckons he should be allowed a bit here and there over Christmas; wwyd?

Had a lovely few days at my Father's, but glad to be home. Having a lazy day today catching up with house-work, might take ds to play-group if he wakes up in time.

Haven't exactly stuck to plan lately, so not expecting a loss tomorrow. Seem to follow a pattern of good week/bad week, so only losing every-other week. Ah well, at least it's in the right direction, even if it's painstakingly slow.

Off to read thread CSWS linked to now...

grinningbee · 22/11/2011 14:09

Slinky glad you got one of those locks. They're very good. No, the postie didn't bring anything yesterday or today, so that's that I would say.

Now then. Chocolate consumption in littlies. I'm of the thought that a little bit does no harm, and their little chocolatey faces are a joy Grin but then I'm a softie.

Just been to Aldi and bought two more gingerbread houses. They are fab! I now have one for us and two for presents. Can't remember if I mentioned them before. In John Lewis they are £15 - Aldi are £5.99. Also got some choc reindeer and choc Xmas tree decorations. There's a bit of a choccy theme today, isn't there!

John Lewis gingerbread house

Aldi gingerbread house

I'd say they're made by the same company...

SlinkyB · 22/11/2011 14:26

Ooh, they do look very similar, and fab! I honestly really couldn't buy anything sweet as a present before Christmas Eve, as don't trust myself not to eat it!! Am planning on starting Christmas shopping on 5th Dec: off to Salisbury with my Dad Smile. Will treat ds to some chocolate then.

Oh, ria, forgot to say, we went to Stourhead on Saturday - it was stunning! I LOVE autumn though, and the colours on the trees were just beautiful.

DS is still asleep Shock - have rather enjoyed vegging on the sofa for 90 mins Grin. Will walk into town when he's up; a good friend gave birth to a little girl earlier (she's in Australia) so want to get a card and a cute outfit to send. Will pop her Christmas card in the package too, given that I wrote them all out on Saturday night .

kid · 22/11/2011 23:03

I'm starting c25k tomorrow Shock

grinningbee · 23/11/2011 04:05

Good luck Kid! I'm sure you'll do it Smile

Well. Technically it is now Wednesday, and you know what that means! Tis the Day of Doom (TM). Please PM me your stats if you want to appear in the list tonight. It may be a smidge later than 9pm, but I will do it as close to then as I can.

Currently up with ds. I have a very hurty throat, have done since yesterday and I think there are white spots on my tonsils... waiting for daylight so I can see properly.

We are supposed to be going into Nottingham this evening to see the Xmas light switch on. Not sure what the dc will think to it all!

Food for the day to be posted later. It seems very wrong to think about food at this time of day. Then again, anything about this time of day is wrong!

grinningbee · 23/11/2011 09:08

I'm back again!

It didn't get any better with ds

Right, food for the day:

Dh will be so pleased Grin

grinningbee · 23/11/2011 15:03

Have fun everyone - and put down those biscuits Wink

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/11/2011 15:53

Reminds me of that (80's?) hit... We don't really need a crowd to have a party, just a funky beat and you to get it started...

Hedgepig · 23/11/2011 18:52

Thanks for the reminder of that song CSWS, I had managed to erase it from my mind but now it is whirling around arggggg

SlinkyB · 23/11/2011 19:33

Back in a bit - got to put ds to bed.

Well done every one ; Bee its the first time I can remember you gaining so don't sorry about it; tomorrow is another day. Time for bed Zzzzzzzzzzz what do you think are the chances of shorty (ds2) staying in his own bed tonight ha ha ha

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/11/2011 23:26

I've been forgetting to post my food diary lately...

B: weetabix, milk, apple
L: chicken & spinach curry & rice (last night's leftovers)
D: fanta chicken & rice (bit of a chicken & rice theme here, but I highly recommend the fanta chicken having made it for the first time).
Snack: melon, Chinese chicken pieces

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/11/2011 23:27

STS - of course - obvious once you say it!

grinningbee · 24/11/2011 03:59

Evening - I'm on the night shift yet again

Hedge it's the second time I've put on since I started (boo!). The other time was after the holiday with Mil in September... I don't suppose 2 gains in almost 6 months is too bad.

Anyhow. Seeing as I'm here, I can tell you about the light switch on. It was in the market square in Nottingham. I did not know it was going to be stupendously busy to the point of almost being a crush. They have a massive ride in the centre called the North Star swing ride which is 60 metres high Shock. Father Christmas was a the top of it, and supposed to abseil down... only once he started his beard got stuck in the pulleys resulting in a VERY slow decent accompanied by bits of beard flying off at intervals and a bit of jeering from the masses.

The lights themselves were not worth the effort, and the whole thing was topped off by a woman resting her shopping bags on top of ds. I kid you not. I said "excuse me, your bags are on my son" to which she replied "well, there is nowhere else to go" Not a sorry or anything ShockAngry. Ds got hysterical, and I felt like committing murder. Dh looked as if he felt the same.

Needless to say, we will not be doing that again in a hurry. At least it was nice to come home to the pre-made lentil pie.

Hedgepig · 24/11/2011 09:28

Shock at the bag lady Bee how would she like you putting your shopping on her head ::wanders of muttering::

grinningbee · 24/11/2011 09:39

Tell me about it Hedge. I am not a violent person in the slightest, but oooooh!

The weekly food shop beckons. Really don't feel like it but suppose I should get it done today.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and the last sad brown banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Leftover Shepherd's Lentil Pie

And I think we have a first proper word from ds, other than dadadada. It's an odd one but funny, and he's been doing it for the last couple of days - tickle! Yes, I do tickle him a lot, and he laughs like a drain Grin
