Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

Oh Kid Sad I hope it lasts a few more days before turning up its frosty toes.

CSWS thanks for that link. The thread is hilarious! Grin

Had a glass of wine with dinner. Bad me. Dh has been snoring now for an hour and a half. What good comapny!

kid · 18/11/2011 23:36

I signed up to lovefilm.co.uk tonight, I hope its worth it although I am slightly tempted to phone them tomrrow to say I have changed my mind!
Its only £11.22 for 3 months of dvd and xbox360 game rentals. I think we'll just have to keep ordering loads of films and games (maximum of 2 at a time) to make it worthwhile. Of course DH told me I was mad for signing up to it but its not much money for 3 months and it was too late to moan at me after I'd signed up for it!

I am so sore after gym last night and no-one wants to massage my back, what a mean bunch I live with!
I have another class booked for Sunday but I'm not convinced I'll go. I think the idea of running is crazy but I am still tempted to give it a go. I also want to get some more gym clothes as the 2 tops I have are quite old and its always nice to have something new to wear.

grinningbee · 19/11/2011 04:03

I tried lovefilm before... ended up cancelling it, but maybe you'll get better use out of it than me!

Yep, bunch of meanies. You should have taken yourself off for a long bath Grin

Well, here we are again. Tis silly o'clock and I've been up an hour. Ds is coughing like a loon and dh didn't even stir Sad Felt like kicking him on the way out of bed! I as so hoping ds would be better for tomorrow, but it doesn;t look as though that's going to happen. Boo.

SlinkyB · 19/11/2011 07:58

Morning all.

bee sorry to hear you've had another bad night - let's hope ds perks up today, ready for his b'day tomorrow. My ds developed a cold in the night too, grr. And you're allowed a glass of wine on a Friday night!

kid good luck choosing your new fridge/freezer today, and maybe gym clothes! Dp had Lovefilm for a couple of years, we used to get load of use out of it, before ds arrived! We've cancelled it now, but I thought it was great.

CSWS can't view link yet as on my Dad's antique pc/dial-up system?! But will do when I get home.

Am staying at my Father's for a few days, going home on Monday, as dp has gone away for a 'boy's weekend'. Today, we're going to a National Trust place which I haven't been to for ages, so looking forward to that.

Just had fruit salad and ff yogurt for breakfast, not sure what's for lunch as we're out, then we're having take-away tonight ! Will order Chicken Chow-Mein I think. Yesterday wasn't great food-wise either, as my family came over to visit and I did a buffet lunch with lots of naughty nibbles which I was rubbish at resisting. Don't think there's any chance of being 10st-something next week!!

Have a lovely weekend y'all.

keepingitRia · 19/11/2011 10:28

morning all. sorry for all the colds and not sleeping, and broken appliances.

which national trust property slinky? we were members for a while, but there aren't many places within easy reach of us. have a nice weekend.

my boys are just watching CIN on recorded TV - Eastenders as ever were brilliant. All hail Ian BealeWink And DS2 tells me steps are on somewhere. Matt Baker looks like his bottom needs massagingWink

keepingitRia · 19/11/2011 10:35

thank you for the finger crossing BTW, hopefully you can relax now. DH has been offered a job (sadly doesn't start until January), and has a temping job with an agency just for next weekend in/near Coventry. Would have been nice to have something a little more regular/concrete in the run up to christmas, but its a startSmile

DS1 is having one of his "episodes" again, there are yak-like noises coming downstairs

have a nice weekend.

kid · 19/11/2011 15:42

I cancelled lovefilm, DS was so horrid this morning I decided he deserves nothing!
I chose a new fridge, they can deliver it tomorrow as long as I go back first thing in the morning to pay for it which is amazing. So why am I in such a foul mood? Oh yeah, that will be my kids Angry

keepingitRia · 19/11/2011 23:23

where has everyone gone? is it new thread time?

my post from earlier has vanished....

kid · 19/11/2011 23:38

i've been popping in from time to time but saw no-one had posted anything. How dare people have a RL?!

Having access on the phone is lethal, I can be here 24/7, well maybe 18/7 as I do need some sleep!

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/11/2011 00:05

Hello. Sorry, meant to come on earlier, but got distracted looking for Christmas gifts for my in-laws to give to dd and ds1.
Now it's ridiculously late and I don't know where the time went! Am usually falling over with tiredness before now, but ds2 actually slept through last night Shock so I'm like a new woman! Bedtime now though.

B: egg, bacon, mushrooms, beans
L: butternut squash curry and rice
D: chicken and veg casserole and rice, melon
Snacks: apple, toast & lemon curd
And 800 cals burned at the gym/swimming Smile

keepingitRia · 20/11/2011 13:03

morning all.

the boys and DH are tormenting playing with our elderly bonkers cat with the infrared light on the wii gunHmm, he is following it though, so he obviously isn't losing his sight like I though, must be his sense of smell that's failing.

started well today, with a big SW fry-up and toast, homemade spicy veggie & lentil soup for lunch if I decide I need any, and steak, SW chips and veg this evening. have made a huge vat of quorn chilli for tomorrow/Tues and to freeze in portions for me (as noone else will eat it).

we were going to go for a walk, but it looks really damp out there, and I have enough laundry without having wet boots and trousers added to it.

Think I might download C to 5 k onto my mp3 player again. I really fancy trying it again (especially now it's dark!!!!)

have a good sundaySmile

grinningbee · 20/11/2011 18:33

Evening everyone!

I thought I posted a message earlier, but it has disappeared Hmm

Anyway, tis my little boys' first birthday today Smile We went out to a farm for the day despite the fog, and had a picnic too. Very un SW friendly, and I know I will gain this week (bugger) but hey ho.

Both dh and I have been upset this weekend. We always make a huge effort to get our friends dcs their presents etc to them for their birthdays. We always drive over (30/35 miles away to where most of them live) and deliver them in person. We haven't had so much as a card from any of them Sad. We're talking 4 or 5 families, so it's not just one family who couldn't for whatever reason. I'm not worried about presents, but just remembering it and saying happy birthday would be nice. I know, he won't know anything about it... but we do.

Anyway. I shall have to hand back my 4 stone sticker this week I think, and try again next week. Hadn't had sausage rolls in months... nom nom nom! Grin

And we're having a takeaway for tea and wine.

Back on the case tomorrow, then head down to Xmas Eve.

grinningbee · 20/11/2011 18:35

Oh, and did I mention the Tunnocks tea cake things... and the birthday cake?

Bad old me.

keepingitRia · 20/11/2011 20:54

Sad, I know how you feel bee, we get that from DHs familyHmm glad you had a lovely family day though, the pic on FB is adorabe.

I fell off the wagon after my walk, and had some bread. I thought I'd downloaded Cto5k, but it didn't pla, so I had a 30 min wlk in the freezing fog. (I think a "run" would have killed me TBH)

I have Sunday night blues. I don't want to go to school tomorrow, to help, work or to the staff meeting, where we invariably get spoken to like pooSad I want to go to sleep and wake up - preferably without this cold, in time for christmas.

kid · 20/11/2011 21:48

Good evening all,
Happy birthday to your DS bee, I hope he had a lovely day. Its a shame that others didn't get his card or present to him on his birthday, perhaps you can make them wait for theirs next time just to return the favour?!

I ordered my new fridge today, but its not coming yet so I'm not very happy. The current one is still working, sort of, but the alarm goes off every 4 hours. Its due to go off at 12am next so I might as well wait up for it and then go straight to sleep for 4 hours before the next alarm! There is no way of switching the alarm off other than turning off the whole thing but thats obviously not wise.

We did get a cracking deal on the fridge. Its in Argos catalogue for £549 but online its only £429. Plus we got another 10% off and they will deliver it for free and recycle our old one. So, I'm happy with that deal. They will phone me by Wednesday to arrange delivery. I hope they phone sooner rather than later.

We went out for lunch today. Totally unSW but so nice. I had lasagne and chips and 2 glasses of wine spritzer. I came home and slept for 2 hours! Must be all that getting up every 4 hours in the night. It feels like having a baby.

I'm not not organised for work in the morning. DS is playing a football match after school and is convinced he is going to lose. I think I'll go along to watch as I've never been able to before. Maybe I'll bring him some good luck? If they look like they are going to lose, I might let my dog off the lead to steal their football so the match will have to be abandoned and they can reschedule for another day (after they have done some more training) Grin

Suppose I should do some ironing before it gets too late.

grinningbee · 20/11/2011 23:40

Big hugs Ria

Kid glad the fridge is ordered, and hope the old one lasts until it arrives!

I'm not going to get too hung up on our other friends. We were badly let down last night by a close friend who asked to borrow some money to food shop (said they didn't even have any bread), and then later found out she had gone to the pub and got smashed Angry. She and her dh already owe dh over £500 for car work from months ago... I've said from now on we rely on no-one but ourselves, then we won't be disappointed.

Ladies, I need a kick up the arse. I have eaten cookies tonight in addition to all the other stuff. It's like I'm trying to sabotage myself when I'm doing really well. I only had 5.5lb to lose to my Xmas target, and only about another 2 stone to my final target . It's going to be more than that now.

Hope the dc sleep tonight. Took a while for them to wind down after an exciting day, so here's hoping! Just need to wake dh now to get him to bed Grin

grinningbee · 21/11/2011 08:13

Morning all.

Not a happy bunny this morning. One day off of the diet and a massive gain. How is it possible??? Can't see it disappearing over the course of today. Grrrr.

Anyway. Was up with ds and got back to bed at 5.05, so hurrah for feeling tired. Dd is already getting upset about going to playgroup. another jolly Monday morning then.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Pork meatballs in spicy tomato and onion sauce with veggies

grinningbee · 21/11/2011 15:39
SlinkyB · 21/11/2011 19:36

I'm baaaaaack!! BB is struggling though, so can't write much, will switch laptop on tomorrow and bore you all senseless catch-up then.

bee I cannot believe you put that much weight on after one day off, scales must be wrong.

Dp brought me a gift from Germany ... a box of Lindt dark chocolate truffles Grin. Is he trying to sabotage my diet or what?! Wink.

grinningbee · 21/11/2011 21:11

Welcome back Slinky! Glad you had a good time Smile

Bless your dh for bringing you a pressie. You could always save them for Xmas? Or just scoff them anyway in one sitting to limit the damage Grin

Sadly I don't think the scales are wrong. I shall see what they say in the morning when I weigh in properly for the week

keepingitRia · 21/11/2011 22:46

back at ya bee. That is precisely why I have few RL friends, when you put yourselves out for people and they throw it back in your faceSad, though perhaps I have got a bit bitter and cynical about the past and should move on and give people a tryHmm

if I, erm, sideline the SW plan (but not the trying to lose weight) until after christmas, will you kick me off the thread? I have (pathetically after such a short time if I'm honest) lost momentum and need a change to get back into it. DH is keen to do something to lose weight as he is (after a 7lb or so loss after the first 2 SW weeks, and then a steady gain since) over 100kg for the first time in his life, so if he's focussed we will still be cutting back, but SW just isn't the way ATM.

like your plan for football kid. I used to embarrass (sp?) DS1 when he used to play, if we'd only had a dog... glad you have a fridge sorted.

am I the only person in the world who doesn't like lindt?

to anyone I've missedSmile

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/11/2011 22:47

bee - do you not find that your weight can vary by a couple of pounds from one morning to the next anyway? Or is it only me who weighs obsessively enough to notice Grin?

Welcome back slinky. :)

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/11/2011 22:50

We won't throw you off ria. :)

grinningbee · 21/11/2011 23:00

Nope, you have to stay Ria. Tis like the Hotel California Grin

CSWS I weigh myself many times a week too (naughty) and normally it doesn't fluctuate too much. Hey ho!

kid · 21/11/2011 23:19

I can honestly say that I have not weighed myself for at least 3 weeks. I am sure I have had a gain in that time but I don't know as I've stayed off the scales (and intend to stay off them too!)

We went to support DS at football tonight and his team won, 6-4 Grin
I think I should go to all of their matches. While he was playing, I took the dog for a run around the park. Well, it was more like he took me for a run but you get the picture.

My new fridge is being delivered on Saturday. It could have been here on Thursday but a 7-7 delivery slot isn't going to go down well with work. The freezer isn't being great atm. DH had an icecream out of it earlier and the icecream was more like mousse and the cone was all bendy. I'm worried about the rest of the food in there now.

I've downloaded c25k and plan to do the first day on Wednesday. My plan is to take DC to the park and while they play, I'll run. I just know its going to half kill me, why do I have these bright ideas?

At the gym tonight, we had a different instructor. Its funny how you get used to one instructor and then another one comes and does something completely different just to confuse you.

I seem to like all chocolate. Not overly keen on white chocolate but I'll eat it if nothing else is on offer Grin
