Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

OP posts:
kid · 15/11/2011 20:45

I wondered why I was having trouble viewing this thread. I had somehow managed to hide it, derr!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/11/2011 20:54

My family are foodies and boozersBlush. But none of them, other than me, is chubbs.

I'm tired tonight. Dinner was pasta with chicken and a roasted veg sauce - delicious!

Hope everyone is having a nice evening.

grinningbee · 15/11/2011 21:15

5 more weigh ins to Xmas... I think I'm going to actually do it and get to my little Xmas goal. Yay!

Baileys... yum yum yum. We are going to get some. Think it'll be the coffee one, but it's so heavy on the syns! 35ml is 5.5 Sad

Saw my dad and step mum today for the first time since late August. Not much was said on the weight loss, other than "do you feel better?". Step mums' parting shot was "nice to see less of you" Hmm.

Just think, in 6 weeks time we'll be eating mince pies and drinking Baileys. Hooray! (And in 7 weeks time I'll be back on the lentil pie Wink).

Speaking of which - Slinky I do hope ds wasn't too traumatised by his lentil pie experience. I feel guilty!

SlinkyB · 15/11/2011 21:39

Don't feel guilty you dafty! He hadn't 'been' all day, then went about 10 mins after his dinner. All totally normal, nothing out of the ordinary with his lovely, solid stool Grin. It just had lentils in it Wink.

I want a Bailey's! . Or a warm mince pie with a big blob of Bailey's cream on top. Or some Bailey's Haagen Dazs. I'm easy.

Do you not get on with your step-mum then bee? Sad that not more was made of yiur amazing weight loss. Families suck some times.

kid Glad yiu got some recognition, and have a sparkly cyber-sticker for managing 9 months at the gym too!

kid · 15/11/2011 22:32

thanks for the cyber sticker Smile

I forgot to say earlier, i got a phonecall from DD to tell me she hates me! Shock
Turns out she had the first of her 3 injections today lol
I know she doens't really hate me and she was actually really good about the needle. I freak out with needles but from what she says, she was very brave and didn't cry.
She wanted to show me the needle mark on our way home. But as I was driving I knew it was a terrible idea as I'd be likely to pass out. I had to try and think of something else as I just don't cope well with anything to do with needles!

grinningbee · 16/11/2011 08:14

Good morning everyone!

Happy DoD Grin

Please pm me your stats if you want to appear in the list later on. I'll do it around 9pm ish to give everyone a chance.

Kid Glad dd had the jab, but sorry she said what she did. That's a really strong phobia of needles you have Sad

Slinky Glad he's ok. As for my step mum.... ah, there's an entire thread or 10!

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Beans on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Quorn chilli and rice

grinningbee · 16/11/2011 11:14

I have been spraying extreme mould killer in the bathroom while dd is out at playgroup, but I think some of it blew back into my face. I have stingy red cheeks! Saying that, it has done the job though... although the house now smells like a swimming pool Grin

Off to get her shortly, then need to muster up the energy to do the food shopping. Urgh.

Also need to decide rather soon whether I am baking ds his birthday cake or buying one. That's a point, I shall be slightly off plan on Sunday. But it is for a good cause Grin

Hedgepig · 16/11/2011 11:34

Ooo you get all the fun Bee Grin. You have to go off plan for Birthdays 'tis is the law

I'm off to York for work this afternoon so I will probaly not be sticking to the plan too well this evening and tomorrow.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 16/11/2011 11:41

bee would you like to come here and clean my bathroom Wink.

I had a bit of a dodgy tummy this morning so DH stayed home to look after DD. He has taken her to gymboree and I feel fine! I feel really guilty as he was supposed to be on a teaching day which he loves. But it does mean I can get on and pack in peace and quiet. I was supposed to be going to mums today but didn't fancy driving down the M4 with a baby if I needed a quick dash to the loo.

Thanks for doing the list bee. I will PM you another uninspiring weigh in.

Have fun in York Hedge.

Food:
B:Nothing
L: Maybe poached Egg on toast
D: supposed to be lamb and spinach curry, it might be lamb and spinach casserole as I am not sure spice is a good idea!

SlinkyB · 16/11/2011 13:12

cheese did you have the dodgy tummy before or after WI?! Wink. Glad you're all better and can now focus on getting organised for your big trip! Have a great time.

Good luck all - look forward to the list later! Hope it's a bit longer than last week's; that list is getting thinner than we are Grin.

I've had a thought

Cheeseandbiscuits · 16/11/2011 13:40

After unfortunately! I haven't even had the lentil pieGrin

Loving the snickers idea, I'm in!

grinningbee · 16/11/2011 13:55

Er, I'll pass on cleaning your bathroom if you have a dodgy tummy Cheese Wink

Slinky it's not a bad idea, but sadly some choccy bars are more syns than half a bottle of red! I know which I'd prefer. Saying that, there is a 400g bar of dairy milk sitting in the fridge waiting for Xmas. I can't even contemplate how naughty that is!

grinningbee · 16/11/2011 13:57

Thinking about it, I'm sure it was Hedge who had the shock discovery that a double decker was something like 14 syns... although maybe I have remembered that wrong.

Still, if it's to celebrate a slimming milestone, why not Grin

SlinkyB · 16/11/2011 14:13

Do you know what? Both myself and dp are absolutely fine after having the shepherd's lentil pie for dinner two nights running! It was delicious, definitely doing it again. Didn't put celery in, as it's the devil's food, but am thinking of adding mushrooms next time and lashings of gravy.

Re: synning a chocolate bar that you're eating because you've reached a milestone...surely they'd have a negative syn/calorie value if they're because you've done fabulously? You know, like cakes are fat-free on your birthday, that sort of thing? Wink.

Why do babies always nap for aaaaaaaages when you've got to be somewhere at a certain time? Best go wake T up as off to meet a friend at a soft-play centre.

grinningbee · 16/11/2011 14:34

Like the idea of a calorie free cake or choccy bar for special occasions Grin

I hear you on the napping. Ds fell asleep when I got dd home from playgroup, and is still asleep now. I may have to food shop tomorrow. Bum. We have no coffee, no yogurt, no fruit or veg left and almost out of tea bags, but thankfully I had the quorn chilli in the freezer, so tea is sorted.

I think it must just be dh who the infamous pie affects so badly.

Right then - any lurkers reading? Fess up and pm me your stats please! Tis a short list again so far...

kid · 16/11/2011 16:10

I had a rummage in my kitchen cupboard and the very first instruction manual I found was for my fridge/freezer, amazing!

I phoned them up even though I know its out of warranty and they actually offer a really good deal. I can either pay £104 for an engineer to come out and for the labour plus VAT but have to pay parts on top of that.
Or, I can pay £14.99 a month for 12 months and that will cover the cost of this repair and it will also start another 12 month warranty. If they can't fix it, they will replace the appliance. It also covers accidental damage (which is handy as I managed to take a chunk out of the shelf in the freezer!)

Just trying to get in touch with DH to check he agrees its a good idea.
I also need to check what the replacement would be if they can't repair it.

grinningbee · 16/11/2011 20:45

Last call for the list tonight ladies! C'mon, delurk and join in Smile

Kid that sounds promising about the fridge. Hope your dh agrees.

Dh cleaned out the soap tray of the washing machine last night and got loads of gunk out (which was a surprise as I don't use powder in it!). Thought we'd cracked the problem... nope. Biggus floodus on the kitchen floorus. Back to stuffing towels across the front till we get a new one.

Tis a little list tonight, but a good'un. Be back in 15 minutes with it.

grinningbee · 16/11/2011 21:05

Well done everybody! Fab results. Onwards and downwards Grin

grinningbee · 16/11/2011 21:19

Ok... where the blue blazes are you all?

Dh is fast asleep on the sofa with the darts on and I'm bored!

SlinkyB · 16/11/2011 21:47

I'm heeeeere! Enjoying a very large glass of rose Grin.

Great list, not going to congratulate anyone individually in case I miss someone out Wink ! Oh, apart from bee of course, who has done A-M-A-Z-I-N-G-L-Y well to get her 4 stone sticker! (keep forgetting to say, I think you should make ds's 1st birthday cake if you can, more special).

Oh, and kid, don't think your absence wasn't noticed Wink. ria hope you're okay, thinking of you ((hug)).

kid · 16/11/2011 21:59

I am indeed here but I haven't WI for for 3 weeks as its too depressing. What counts is I'm happy, right?! Grin

Dh talked me into not believing the warranty was a good offer as we'd be putting another £180 in to a 4 year old appliance so, he is trusting me to go out on Saturday to buy a new fridge/freezer. Lets hope he approves of my choice. The lights haven't flashed since last night but I expect it to go at any moment.

For dinner tonight, I had sausage, mash, onions and gravy. My portion was smaller than 9 yo DS's dinner but it still filled me up. Gym for me tomorrow.
I am beginning to think about taking up running. As a little practice, I attempted to run some of the way home from work tonight. BIG MISTAKE! I lasted all of 30 seconds. Infact, I didn't even make it to the end of my road Grin Back to the drawing board I think!

grinningbee · 16/11/2011 21:59

Blush awww, thanks.

Wish I had some wine too.

Ria I hope you're ok?

keepingitRia · 16/11/2011 22:06

fabulous results this week you guysSmile well done.

I did WI on the wii this morning, but it was after breakfast, and it said I had gained more than I would gain on a 2 week takeaway and booze binge, so I am a bit . Will assume I am in the run-up to one of my phenomenal TOTMs (which would figure as I have really lost the will to do the day to day stuff requiredSad). As penance I have been mucking out horses tonight (and ate supper out - yum).

I am a bit worried about DS1 though. On Mondays he goes to a different school in the big town as he is doing a diploma for his GCSE and it is at a different site to his usual school (and involves a longer journey on the college bus etc. he has other friends who go too) and for the last few Sunday nights/Monday mornings, he has been sick. Last weekend we did something new on Sunday, cue vomiting, and then again on Monday morning. This morning we saw the paediatrician about his dyslexia stuff, then DH took him to subway for lunch before we went back to school, which was all fine, but walking back to the car he puked up his lunch 3 times in the street Blush and has been feeling rough since, although he rallied to go to the farm, and ended up with colour in his cheeks and joining in with a bit of light work, and even ate a bit of supper quite happily, then he started feeling ill again. There doesn't seem to be any pattern, other than maybe he could be stressed. He has no other symptoms (DH thought it might be a gag-reflex thing from catarrh, but he has hardly coughed this afternoon/evening) other than he seems to need to burp a lot (very deep and very loud - old mans burping!) I think DH is going to phone NHS direct tomorrow. I don't know what to do for him to make it betterSad

so, that (DS1) along with other stuff is really getting me down ATM. (fingers crossed it is TOTM!)

keepingitRia · 16/11/2011 22:13

sorry for long self-indulgent post. back in a bit. don't smell very sociable ATMWink (and DS1 is finally out of his 3rd shower of the day!)

SlinkyB · 16/11/2011 22:13

If you're happy kid, are you going to 'call' target? You could still WI every week, but not bother publishing it?? Being happy is indeed the most important thing Grin.

Anyone watching I'm a Celeb? I love it! And Junior Apprentice, and MiC, and X Factor, and....oh, god, I'm such a saddo! Am still 50/50 as to whether I'll watch Children in Need on Friday night; not sure I can afford the Kleenex!
