Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/11/2011 23:20

I'm here. On a train at kings cross about to set off for home after dinner out with friends. Smile

SlinkyB · 12/11/2011 08:46

bee What's The Tourist like? Have you read that thread in Sleb Twaddle about someone going to stay at his house, for work, for a couple of nights? I'm not a big fan of him myself. However, after going to the pictures to watch In Time last night, I'm suddenly a fan of Justin Timberlake Grin Phwooaarrr!

ria I also love QI, don't watch it often enough though. Good luck with the charidee shop hunting today, might nip into a couple myself.

cheese and CSWS Good nights out last night?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 12/11/2011 09:42

Very good night out thanks slinky. ate like a pig.
Happy Saturday one and all. We are off into London town for a mooch. Will pop into Harrods food hall and buy the oldies their Xmas presents!

I have to crack on with making DD advent calendar too. I'm making it from scratch one of those felt ones. I am not very crafty so it's going to take me ages. Oh well, it will be worth it.

kid · 12/11/2011 14:29

I've been bowling this morning and I am hopeless at it.
I broke a nail, almost broke my finger and I dropped the ball backwards instead of rolling it down the alley. If I ever go again, I'm having the barriers up like the kids Grin

My housework today will consist of as little as possible as my poor muscles are still sore from the gym on Thursday night. Not sure about gym tomorrow, I'm on the reserve list for a place but I could just turn up as loads don't bother on the day. I might not bother either so I know how they feel not to turn up.

grinningbee · 12/11/2011 19:32

Evening everyone!

Slinky The Tourist was ok, not brill, but totally watchable in a switch your brain off sort of way.

Cheese Glad you had a nice night out Smile

Kid I love bowling! Not been for longer than I can remember though...

Went into Nottingham today and bought ds a couple of birthday presents. Dd thinks they are for her. Uh oh! We also took her to see Father Christmas for the first time. The photo is hilarious. She's sat as far away from him as possible giving him a sidewards suspicious glance. She was ok though, and did talk to him.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
An apple (naughty of me to miss lunch, I know)
Beef rogan josh with veg

We ended up slap bang in the middle of a protest today, which was a little unnerving. It was that bunch that go around telling companies to pay their tax. Well, we were in Vodafone, and so were they... big group sitting inside the shop. The police arrived while we were there and the chanting etc got very loud. Weirdly they kept trying to offer the dc sweets and cakes. We told them nicely to go away, and dh looked as if he would murder the first one to upset one of the dc. Mind you, think dd was scared anyway. You would be if someone in a giant clown outfit with weird mask tried to give you a cake!

All in all, an odd experience.

keepingitRia · 12/11/2011 21:41

that doesn't sound nice bee. Not fond of clowns anyway, but can't do with unrest.

for those of you with smallish DC, Tesco have pyjamas/nightwear on 3 for 2 ATM, including adults, but they have some lovely brushed cotton button-up ones, and some fleecy ones for smaller DC. And poundland have Peppa Pig harmonicas, and some socks which say "little pudding"Smile. I have done a little xmas shopping today. I think I possibly have a poundland habitBlush

DS3 had a nasty fall today, off a swing at the new playground where the birthday party was. I have been fretting about neck injuries all afternoon (because of course, the first thing I did was pick him up and cuddle him, then I realised if it was serious I shouldn't have done that.) He landed upside down on his head. I have no idea how. He does seem OK tonight, but he wasn't for about an hour. poor sausage.

DH has been offered a job working a few hours on our friends farm. AIBU to be concerned about working for a friend?

I can't seem to find my SW mojo again.

grinningbee · 13/11/2011 08:39

Morning!

Been up a stupid amount of time - both dc last night. Grim!

Ria Working for a friend should be ok, so long as the friend can pay and doesn't start the "I'll pay you next week" routine or other such nonsense. I do hope ds is ok today after bouncing on his head Sad.

Not much going on here today as dd was a bit poorly in the night and kept waking... and ds woke around 3.45 and never really went back to sleep. Got to go out for nappies though. Woohoo - how exciting!

Off to have a soak in the bath in a bit, but dh has decided to go in there first and is having a poo Angry. He does this every bloody time! I shall have to wait for the fog to clear first Grin.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast and fruit
Bolognese and veggies

keepingitRia · 13/11/2011 13:26

matches at the ready bee?Wink

maybe working for a friend will work out better then, as he gets that kind of stuff from proper bossesHmm

think we are heading to town in the other direction today (i.e., not the town we were in yesterday). It's miserable and drizzly and grey, but I can't face staying in to ponder on all the laundry and housework. Hopefully I can get my 3 things I want from the Boots 3 for 2.

grinningbee · 13/11/2011 15:37

Hope you got what you wanted Ria. Matches were not needed as I left a nice hefty length of time before going in Grin. He's in it now... maybe I should have returned the favour!

QBEE · 13/11/2011 16:49

Ah see now, I quite enjoyed The Tourist in a 'I'm hormonal, my dh is fast asleep drooling after spending half the night treating his athletes foot and I desperately am trying to avoid doing this essay' escapism kind of way...

I haven't been on these threads for an age! I have been keeping on with the real life sw though and have lost 1st 3lbs so far (6 weigh in) and would like another stone off for Christmas but imagine I will have to lower my daily syns to do this. I'm currently over at around 20 aday Blush

Is everyone planning on staying on plan for the big week day?

kid · 13/11/2011 20:05

I was in such a bad mood this morning. I think its because my jeans that were starting to get loose are now a little bit tighter. They are still a tiny bit loose but I am filling them up a bit more than usual. But, I have no-one to blame except myself so if you'd all like to form an orderly queue to give me a massive kick up the backside.

I was planning to get back to get back to it tomorrow but it looks like my fridge is broken so I'm guessing I'll be using up as much as I can out of that rather than stocking up on more healthier food.
DH isn't interested in the fridge/freezer, he said just leave it. I am so tempted to 'just leave it' as I know full well its broken and its not going to fix itself. Also, another fridge/freezer will not magically appear in our kitchen.
I'm not going to get stressed about it, I am just going to wait and see at what point he realises how inconvenient it is to have no fridge or freezer which will also mean virtually no food either.
Jeez, my freezer is full, what a waste of food Sad

QBEE · 13/11/2011 20:29

What about cooking off all the food and having a party Kid? Smile

As for the jeans-you are going to need some smaller ones in no time

kid · 13/11/2011 20:47

Hmm, have a party = messying up my newly cleaned house.
I think I'll have to give it a miss.

The fridge was just making some weird noises. I really don't want to go in there to have a look as someone suggested hoovering behind the fridge. That sounds like really hard work and I really, really don't want to have to do that.

If I have to buy a new one, it will be my 3rd fridge in 7 years, thats not that good is it? I don't think its good considering that I gave my first fridge that I bought in 1999 to my parents. its still working now!

Oh well. Enough about my stupid fridge. What meals should I have next week that are SW friendly and that don't involve me storing them in a fridge? Grin

keepingitRia · 13/11/2011 21:24

hope your fridge has decided to stop being silly kid. otherwise you're on eggs, jacket potatoes, rice, canned mixed beans and pasta'n'sauce.

town was a bit pointless, didn't even get to boots. was good to be out though, and I have a few things in mind for our next trip when we take DS1 to the hospital on Wednesday (I have promised him a trip to the music shop for some drum brushes, and DH is taking him to subway). Stupidly, in a Sunday-lunch-envy-mood, I bought meat and veg to make stew tomorrow, but a "proper" stew like my mum makes, as that's what they were having today when they phoned just after I got in from band rehersal to find a shortage of bread for mine and the boys lunch, DH having had poached eggs on toast while I was out. I LOVE mum's stew, and am Envy as when DH usually works Sundays, we often get invited for lunch.

I will try to re-align my thoughts tomorrow and just give stew to DH and the boys, or eat on plan all day and indulge myself. I need to get a grip, I need a new look!

kid · 13/11/2011 21:31

ria the working for a friend might work out.
My FIL worked with his BIL for 27 years. Eventually, the business had to close down but he was paid his redundancy entitlement so he did alright out of it.

grinningbee · 14/11/2011 09:28

Morning everyone!

Kid I hope the fridge is playing ball today. We have two major appliances on the fritz that I'm hoping will magically get better too... rotten, isn't it.

Just had a very traumatic drop off to playgroup with dd. She was screaming and crying, hanging on to my legs Sad. They have called me since to say she calmed down and is painting. Didn't stop me welling up on the way home though.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Leftover bolognese and veggies

Hope you're all having a good Monday morning Smile

grinningbee · 14/11/2011 13:52

Just me today then? Oh well Smile

Ds has a horrible temperature, and is leaking snot for England poor sausage Sad Just given him some medicine and got him to sleep, so hopefully it'll do him some good.

Dd was fine after playgroup (thankfully!). Think this is the start of the playgroup germs though... and as I was told today, it all helps build up their immune systems Hmm. Just hope ds is better for his birthday. Dd had chicken pox on her first!

If you're all lurking, can you think me some weight loss thoughts for tomorrow please? I NEED to lose that 1/2 pound. Ta muchly Grin

keepingitRia · 14/11/2011 15:35

I'm sure you'll lose that 1/2lb bee.

spent the morning at school, but our job for the week around the house is sorting out our bedroom and wardrobes etc. I am just having a cuppa then I have to go and confront all the clothes I have that are horrible or don't fit. Not a job I'm excited about.

I'm back on plan today, but I'm starving.

grinningbee · 14/11/2011 15:45

Hello!

I was beginning to think the thread had died a death Sad Good luck with all the sorting. Tis a necessary evil. I cleared my wardrobe out last week. There's barely anything left Blush. Had to be done though as the size 24 jumpers etc were looking silly Grin. I have saved one pair of jeans for a photo when I get to my goal.

Must admit, I'm having a cuppa too. Really fancy a custard cream, but I will resist.

SlinkyB · 14/11/2011 15:52

I have indeed been lurking for a while - sorry! Fairly busy weekend, then body conditioning last night Wink.

bee I shall light a candle for that 1/2 lb tonight, and keep everytbing crossed. Do you still grin when you see 11st-something on the screen?

I can't wait til I get to the next stone down, am feeling very determined today. Gonna make the shepherd's lentil pie when dp is home from work. He'll have that with me tonight, but tomorrow night when I have it again, he'll have chicken kievs and chips Envy. Might give him some garlic bread too, but he's not one for big portions, unlike greedy ol' me!

Hope you're all having lovely days. Not long back from a walk...who turned the thermostat down outside? Brrrr.

SlinkyB · 14/11/2011 15:55

p.s ria I love sorting out my wardrobe! Chuck everything on the bed, then sift through it. Find it most cathartic, but I am a boringly-organised Taurus Grin.

grinningbee · 14/11/2011 16:03

Oh yes Slinky, I do still grin. Still can't quite believe it to be honest. I shall need reviving when I hit the 10 stone somethings Grin

Dh has told me he doesn't want me to make Lentil Pie again as it gives him a bad bottom. I really like it though Sad (the pie, not what it does to his bottom!). Boo.

Agree about the cold. Might have to get some gloves for the playgroup run, even though it's only 2 minutes from the house. You have to stand in the playground until they let you in. Brrrr!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/11/2011 16:40

I'm back! Sorry for not posting much. I've been so far off plan it's unreal! But I'm back on it today!

I won't be weighing in this week as we are at mums snd then off to USA for 10days. Can someone else do the list for the next couple of weeks?

On the plus, I've done lots of body conditioningGrin so that should help!

Food today:
B: weetabix (heb)
L: stirfry veg and rice
D: chilli and Jp

bee did DD enjoy playgroup today?
slinks I'm a Taurus too, I am v organised and list mad. In fact, it's time to write my what to pack list.

Our house stinks, DD is off work with a very dodgy tummy! Sad

kid · 14/11/2011 16:41

It was freezing today, I was so cold and I don't usually feel the cold. I think it might be time to dig out my warmer coat, I've got 2 to chose from this year (I forgot about the old one when DH bought the new one. Convenient or what! Grin)

I've got to leave for the gym in less than an hour. I also need to sort out something for dinner and keep my fingers crossed that DH arrives home in time. If not, I'm certain DC will be fine for the 15 minutes home alone until DH arrives. Its so much easier having slightly older DC although DD seems to be turning into a teenager Angry

My fridge seems to be working today. I hoovered the back of it last night and turned the settings down to the lowest temperature and the lights stopped flashing. I'm sure its on its way out, but I'll leave it for as long as I can get away with.

Talking of older DC, I have started paying them pocket money each week in return of them doing some housework. Tonight, DD is doing all the washing up and DS has cleaned the kitchen already. Its a hard life sitting here with my cup of tea watching them.

SW was okay today, not perfectly on plan but only one jaffa cake (which I don't even like so that was a waste of syns. I just need to sort a healthy-ish dinner to scrap by on less than 15 syns. I've really gone off the muller light yogurts lately so I'm not going to waste my money buying any for a while.

grinningbee · 14/11/2011 16:43

I'll do it if you like Cheese. Envy at the USA. Mmmmmm IHOP
