Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

grinningbee · 09/11/2011 21:06

Blimey, that was a short list. Is everyone lurking, or have they disappeared? Sad

Well done everyone! If I don't lose at least 1/2 a pound next week to get to a 4 stone loss, I shall have to lop something off Grin

SlinkyB · 09/11/2011 21:13

I was too late! (just!) But stayed the same this week. Hardly surprising with the cake-eating, wine-guzzling and zero exercise. Ah well, 'tis a new week now (well, for us lot anyway). Well done everyone else, and how frustrating bee?! Am sure you'll get your 4st sparkly sticker next week, no problems, and be in the 10st club before me at this rate! Smile.

Apart from going to a friend's tomorrow afternoon to start my baking lessons (need to learn so that I can bake ds's 1st birthday cake in January...it'll probably be my first and last attempt, but at least I can say I tried!), I have a pretty clear week, so should be able to get back on track. Oh, apart from cinema Friday night but will plan to bring grapes/sugar-free pop and not steal my girly friend's chocolate and popcorn.

Had a lovely day with the family in Wales, think my mojo is coming back. Oh, and after a few weeks of stupidly early mornings, ds decided today would be a good day to wake us up at 7.45am...when I was meant to be leaving for my sister's at 8.30am?! Typical. Oh well, was good practice for when we'll have to be rushing around in the morning so we can get to work/nursery etc.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/11/2011 21:51

Sorry Slinks. Enjoy your baking practice, try not to eat it Grin

We are having wine tonight. DH and I seem to have got our mojo back ifyouknowwhatImean.Which is lovely. Hence the lack of posts from moi!

bee you are doing so well - I expect to be overtaken soon!

Hedgepig · 09/11/2011 22:33

[Grin] Cheese
well done everyone, my computer at work has been transferred today so no illicit MNing has been possible ... I get my new puter back tomorrow think heavens.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/11/2011 22:41

Well done to all those not missing in action!

Had my weetabix for breakfast today, and been stuck on what to snack on tonight as a result! Might have to sneak in a red or green day so that I can have 2 HEs, but have stuff that needs using over next couple of days so prob not possible - bah!

No screaming from ds2 tonight yet, and no egg this morning, but his 4th tooth has finally cut, so now I still can't be sure if it was teeth or egg - grrrr!

keepingitRia · 09/11/2011 22:44

hi guys. well done on those losses. another gain for me, which I won't bother posting. No big surprise.

had a nice-ish day today. TMI alert. DH's hospital appointment went well. His lump is nothing serious, and to have it removed could cause more problems, so no surgery necessary (and so we don't have to write off another DC just yetWink). spent a nice couple of hours wandering round, and had lunch in subway (am not convinced), and I picked up a brand new taillissime/la redoute dress in a charity shop, so that was a nice treat.

had parents evening for 2 of the boys (good news, but D3 has "a stubborn streak"!) and band rehersal for DS1, DH took the other boys to meet our friends new puppy.

It's nice to be home, but wish I could hide from the world tomorrow too.

DH is watching one of the Pirates of the Carribbean films. I don't get it.

bee, the crying thing is awful. my boys all did it. hope DD is better next week.

grinningbee · 10/11/2011 08:01

Morning all.

Cheese we know what you've been doooooing Grin Go on, it was the new bra, wasn't it.

No mojo going on in this house!

Ria Glad dh is ok (and future mini Ria's). Can you get out for a break again today?

Off to see my best mate soon. Been friends for over 20 years (yikes!!) but don't get to see her that often now. I expect that dh's ears will burn like fury Grin. I am taking her some choccy as she is an addict, but will do my level best to avoid it. I NEED that half a pound. It always seems weird driving back to my old stomping ground. Bit sad too, but hey ho!

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Toast I hope
Quorn chilli and rice

Have a good day all, and Cheese, remember to eat and have something to drink Wink

Hedgepig · 10/11/2011 12:26

have a great day Bee I can feel your determination for your -1/2 lb ozzing through the tin-ter-net Grin

Ria good news about the dress, I never get anything good in charity shops Sad

Nice evening Bee????? Grin

CSWS that's a bit of a conundrum? If you were to rub a bit of egg on the back of his neck would an intolerance show up as a skin reaction? DS1 had an egg allergy and he came up in hives where ever scrambled egg touched his skin, but I know intolerance are a different beast Confused.

Food today (I'm very very hungry today)
Melon Yog and toast and jam
Ham salad
D ??????? got some chicken to play with

grinningbee · 10/11/2011 21:09

Lol Hedge. Yep, I am one very determined person this week!

Think you may have meant to say Cheese had a nice evening. Given that she's been quiet again today, I can only assume she and Mr Cheese have decided a second baby is better than paying for childcare WinkGrin (hope you don't think I'm being out of order!).

Had a lovely catch up with my friend today. World put to rights and then some. I do miss the area though.

Now come on everyone - where are you???

Hedgepig · 10/11/2011 21:53

I'm here! eating an apple. just been to RL SW weigh in got a new sticker -3 1/2 stone and going below 11st is within sight Grin. The run last weekend must have been worth it I will try aain this weekend

I'm pleased you had a nice visit Bee
nearly bed time me thinks, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/11/2011 22:42

Well done hedge.

Glad you had a nice day bee. It's lovely having a proper catch up with old friends.

Not a lot to report here. Spent the evening ordering stuff (or finalising details of customised orders) for Christmas presents. Nearly got everything sorted for my 3 now, though haven't considered anyone else yet.
I do still need to choose a wooden kitchen for ds2. We have an old plastic one in the garden which he loves, but it's pretty well worn now, and too big to come inside, so I want to get him a nice wooden one that he can squeeze into his bedroom or the playroom. Anyone got a recommendation?

food for today
B last bit of kedgeree and a banana
snack: leftover salmon
L: noodles and stir fry veg, but i wasn't in the mood for it, so didn't have much
D: Slow cooked beef brisket with potatoes, parsnips, swede, carrots, stringless beans. Pineapple, mango, wedge of pear.
Snack: weetabix + kira milk.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/11/2011 07:19

I'm here Grin purely because of body conditioning yesterday! Was a bit hungover yesterday after too much vino, oh well.

It's lovely having DH around instead of coexisting side by side. Been a busy few months so hopefully things will settle down.

Food yesterday:
B: yog
L: jp beans and salad
D: steak chips and veg

Today:
Brunch: spinach, tomatoes, scrambled egg, baked beans and hobbit toast (heb)
D: date night

Yep we have a babysitter tonight so we are off out. We haven't got anywhere booked yet, will prob end up in the pub!

Right, what I have missed then?

grinningbee · 11/11/2011 08:19

Of course the walk is because of exercise Cheese Wink

You haven't missed anything I don't think. It was very quiet in here yesterday.

Dh came out with something very odd last night. He said he had been worried about me going to see my friend, because he thought she would talk me into leaving him. Eh? He went on about it quite a bit. Very odd.

Off to Nottingham tomorrow hopefully to get ds his first birthday presents for a week on Sunday. I can't believe it's come around so soon!

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Quorn sausages, bubble and squeak and beans

grinningbee · 11/11/2011 08:25

Forgot to add - have a lovely evening Cheese. It's always nice to get a night out Envy

keepingitRia · 11/11/2011 10:08

that's an interesting comment from your DH bee, maybe he has a sneaky suspicion that sometimes he gets it wrong? how is he now after the accident?

the thread has gone v quiet. but I have still forgotten everything I've just read.

DS3 is home poorly today. He had a rotten night shouting out in his sleep and coughing, so we decided he was staying home, but he got ready for school and was fine until he got to the door at going-in time and realised he had forgotten his reading bag. He had a huge meltdown and I couldn't get him in. So I feel a completet fool because I have brought him home. He is watching fireman sam and counting the mintues until he goes to Grandads for an hour at lunchtime.

I am v achey after shampooing my carpet. still not back on track foodwise, but I will be soon. if DS3 is a bit better we might try and get out for a walk at the weekend, though we have another birthday party tomorrow.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/11/2011 10:24

Hmmm bee. He clearly has a guilty conscience or is aware that he is falling short at the moment. Have you asked him outright?

ria hope he gets well soon. Poor wee thing.
How do you make your bubble and squeak bee? I'm having a hungry day today!

grinningbee · 11/11/2011 11:43

I wondered if it was a guilty conscience. Who knows? I did ask him, and he couldn't tell me Hmm

Ria Hope ds is feeling better soon.

Bubble and Squeak

As many potatoes as you think you can eat, and then some more
Some carrots
Some brussels
Fat free fromage frais
Wholegrain mustard (if you want)

Boil the spuds, then mash them up with some fromage frais and wholegrain mustard (have to syn that sadly)

Chop the carrots and boil them with the brussels (why dirty two pans?)

Chop up the brussels and carrots and bung into the mash and mix up

Heat a big frying pan with frylight in it, bung the mashy mixture in and fry on a high heat for as long as it takes to get lots of lovely brown crispy bits in it.

Apart from the mustard it is syn free, and very filling!

I make some into little burger shapes and fry them for the dc, and they really seem to like it.

You can pretty much put any veg in you like. We're having ours with quorn sausages tonight, but those on EE could have nice ones instead Grin

SlinkyB · 11/11/2011 16:06

Thanks for that recipe bee - will have to try it soon. That was a funny thing for your dh to say, I agree with others; he's obv feeling guilty and a little insecure. Good luck with the shopping tomorrow, we're popping to town so dss can spend his birthday money. Dp has said he'll take T too, so I can mooch by myself - bliss! (just wish I had some money to fritter).

cheese I don't believe the body conditioning thing either...unless that's code for youknowwhat? Wink. Dp and I keep meaning to do some 'body conditioning' but are usually too tired/grumpy. Things will know doubt change in the new year when we'll be ttc again Grin.

CSWS I believe Ikea have a cute little wooden kitchen, £75?? Sorry can't link as on the BB and am too thick.

. Am not having the best of days with food. Have been food shopping though and bought all the ingredients for the Shepherd's Lentil Pie, so will attempt that on Mon, and eat it all week (if it's working for bee right?). Never done it before, nor cooked with lentils, but the recipe looks pretty simple.

I have a problem. Whilst doing this diet, dp has lost about a stone too, and is starting to look a bit scrawny, ha ha! He's 6ft and 12st now, so doesn't want to lose any more Envy. He still drinks beer, and eats all manner of crap at work Envy Envy. Should I be buying full-fat stuff for him, and run the risk of me accidently eating it? Hmm.

grinningbee · 11/11/2011 16:23

Ikea play kitchen here how cute!

Slinky Envy at your dh. Personally, I wouldn't go for full fat. Just make him eat extra bread or something... but then, I'm eeeevil. Saying that, we always have biscuits and cakes etc in the house for the dc and dh and I have resisted so far. I do whimper sometimes in the kitchen though Grin.

Good luck with the lentil pie - your insides will love you for it Wink

And can I just say - yay for the ttc! There's 19 months between my two, and although it is hard work, the way they play together now and get on together is just adorable.

kid · 11/11/2011 16:50

Hello, I am back, Well actually I never left but I haven't posted much lately.

I've had a read of recent posts and I think I'm up to date with things, but I'm prone to forgetting things so maybe I'll have another read.

I sent DD's letter back for the injection. They will do 3 injections over the course of 6 months sometime in the next year Confused Why can't they just say that she is having injection 1 on X, injection 2 on Y and injection 3 on Z? That would just be too easy of course.

I went back to the gym last night after a bit of a break. I really didn't want to go but a friend wanted to go if I went so we went together. It was so hard but I really enjoyed it. I'm aching a bit today but not too much. I've booked up for next week so I'm hoping me and friend make eachother go again.
I haven't heard from other buddy, so I've not contacted her. Lets see if she ever goes back.

I'm still not completely back on SW but I don't think I'm doing too bad.
Today, I had:

Breakfast: Small bowl of sultana bran
Lunch: couscous and 1/2 can vegetable curry from sainsburys
bag of snack a jacks
2 satsumas

Dinner: Haven't decided yet!

Dinner has always been my downfall as after being at work all day, I really can't be bothered to come home and cook. I have stopped taking money out of the bank as when there is cash in the house, its so tempted to order a takeaway. Its a waste of money and too unhealthy so I think its a wise move.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/11/2011 19:21

Ooh that's exciting slinky we will ttc in about a year I think.

kid glad you went ahead with injections. I have also been back to the gym and loved it.

Just having a gin before we go out. DD has been a bit grisly tonight so my fingers are crossed. She is asleep now though.
Have a lovely fri evening.

Ps - it genuinely was the body conditioning. Or maybe it wasn't. Either way Grin

keepingitRia · 11/11/2011 19:35

am a bit Envy of all this ttc-talk. but truly would rather sleep than go for "body conditioning", so it's irrelevant reallyWink

can I confess now to planning steak pie and chips tonight? (and much cheap wine) Have been to M'sons and spent a worrying amount of money on fruit and veg, and planned meals from tomorrow, so should be back on plan (unless there is some kind of excess cash miracle occuring, then we will be at McD's for lunch and have chinese for teaWink I am quite confident that this won't happen.) Will have to go shopping in town tomorrow as DS2 has holes in his shoesBlush. May hit the charity shops again (different town, and need some tidy trousers for school).

enjoy your night out cheese.

keepingitRia · 11/11/2011 22:31

are you all off body-conditioning?

I am bored and sleepy as DH and DS1 have started watching QI (which I love) without me, and now I can't get into it. DH is mithering me because I suggested Made in Dagenham for one of his DVD-rental choices, and he wants to watch it tonight, but I don't have the attention span. I want a quick hotel inspector/come dine with me, then much sleep. have been reading the haunted house thread for amusement.

grinningbee · 11/11/2011 22:38

I'm here. Just watched the depp film The Tourist, mostly cos it was set in Venice... which I love
