Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

Hope you have a better day today Ria
I know what you mean about the other parents not speaking to you. I moved DS to a new school 2 years ago (its gone really fast!) and hardly any of the other parents talk to me. DS is in Year 5 so maybe the parents aren't that into who their children play with?

I went to a firework display last night organised by one of DS's friends mum. A few other parents were there and they all seemed quite friendly, I guess at the school they all have their own little gang. I doubt I'm missing much by not being in their gang so I don't mind.

I couldn't go gym yet again today as DH is at work, DD is at my sisters and my parents aren't at home. So, to compensate, I did Shred. It was so hard, gym class is so much easier Grin

Off for a long soak in the bath, then to walk the dog, then shopping and back to sort dinner and thoroughly clean the house as a friend is coming round straight after work tomorrow.

I know I'm going to be in agony later. I was even crazy enough to think I'd be able to squeeze in an extra shred session tonight to try and make up for some lost time. I don't think that will happen now.
Maybe if I play some music and bounce around while doing the housework that will burn some more calories? Best keep the blinds shut

I got my tyre repaired yesterday. It only cost £10 so not as bad as needing a new tyre (£70). I need the car tomorrow so I'm glad its done now. Actually, I need it today too!

SlinkyB · 06/11/2011 16:03

Hello all, hope you're all having nice Sunday.

ria what is the black dog? Is it when you feel down? I usually say I feel like I've got a little black cloud hovering over my head when I feel like that, so think I know what you mean. Anyway, it doesn't sound good so hope the dog does one soon.

bee sorry you were up half the night, but yay for getting your Lush stuff and a new bra.

cheese Did you see someone started a thread in S&B yesterday about Rigby & Peller? Read it, then this morning saw that you went there too! The shop sounds amazing, and everyone seems to shrink around the band, and increase their cup size. I must get re-measured, my bras are hanging off me now, not flattering at all.

kid well done on the shredding! I did it twice in one day once. I'm going to try and fit it in tomorrow.

My weekend's been ok, not done anything of great note, and not been toooo bad diet-wise....still want to borrow your scales on Wednesday morning though please cheese! Wink.

P.S Keep forgetting to say "thanks" for all the ((hugs)) last week - much appreciated and needed. Who says MN is not a friendly place?!

kid · 06/11/2011 16:52

Thought I'd killed the thread or that you were all in shock that I'd done shred Grin
I dressed differently today, I've git black leggings and a green/blue jumper dress. It looks lovely even if I do say so myself. I've also git on my high heeled long boots which finish the look nicely. Shame I didn't take them off to do the housework, my back is killing me now!
I knew jeans and trainers were the best thing to wear!

keepingitRia · 06/11/2011 18:32

that sounds very glam for housework kid. good for you. if I wear nice stuff in the house it usually ends up with bleach down it.

IIRC "black dog" is how Winston Churchill referred to his periods of depression. I do have a little bleakness hovering, but hopefully it is just TOTM or getting over my lurgy, rather than anything worse (especially as I haven't taken any ADs since my review appt as I have felt so much better).

Took DS1 to our village band rehersal this morning. We sat in and read through the music as the band rehearsed. Next week we are taking his drum kit down, and I have been loaned a tenor horn, so will be moving into the horn section as soon as DS1 can manage to follow his music on his own. It's quite a weird feeling as I joined the same band (in the horn section) when I was his age! I wish the old chap who was my section leader was still alive though, he was fab at encouragement. Was fun thoughSmile

I also painted my wooden bunting for Dnieces birthday. But have NOT been good food-wise. I have taken out of the freezer 2 random tubs of unidentified SW something, for a meal tomorrow and Tuesday, and have quorn burgers and stuff for the other meal. Just hope to minimise the damage now til DoD. I am NOT going to regain all of my 13lb. I just won't I wish DH would bugger off out in the morning so I can shred.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 06/11/2011 20:14

Ha kid get you in your heels doing your housework, I am so impressed!

Hope you are feeling a bit brighter Ria. SOunds like you are back on plan.

I have had a busy old day. DD has been really hard work so I ended up putting her in the pram and marching to the shops to try and get her to nap. It meant I cracked on with some Christmas shopping and got some bargains in the M&S 3 for 2 shop, books and puzzles for kids.

I have stuck rigidly to plan today, I really want a half decent loss on Weds.
slinks i didn't see the other thread. I have been going there for ages, its amazing. They have such fab bras for those large of nork - provided you don't mind paying up to £80! I turned down the £110 bra and the knickers that were £50! Will save my new posh bra for a treat for DH Grin

keepingitRia · 06/11/2011 21:41

I would love to go to that bra shop. Though it looked very intimidating when Jo Brand (I love her) went when she was trinny-and-suze-ed. I would truly love to lose enough weight to go out and find a bra shop, and come home transformed (though I may have to get another job first, if it's going to cost me £80). We used to have a local shop called Sadie the Bra Lady, but I think they went out of business. My mum went there and got measured (down to a 32 but up a couple of cup sizes. it seems to be the way) and bought a couple, then embraced ebay for bargains! Ample Bosom is local to me too - I wish they had a shop with measuring instead of being mail-order (in fact, I used to work in the mailing factory that mailed out their catalogues. hard work but happy days). is there a bravissimo in York does anyone know?

incredibly bored. DH is watching a man-film. I am reading a trashy novel but should be ironing or studying.

grinningbee · 06/11/2011 22:01

Ria - I think your nearest is Leeds. The bra I got yesterday was £29, which is a lot (to me) but I did notice today that Asda do a G cup now... saw one nice bra for £6! Might have to give one a try.

I am too full. Ate lots of bubble and squeak Grin Best of it was that both dc had some for their tea too, so I know now that they will eat brussels. Hurrah!

Watching Psycho at the mo. Fab film. Ooooh, shower scene!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 06/11/2011 22:25

I would go and get measured there and then sneak off to Marks once you know what size you are! I think everyone should get measured regularly - once your boobs are pointing in the right direction then you get a waist!

Right off to bed, I have a sneaky feeling tonight might not be a good'un but we will see. Night all

kid · 06/11/2011 22:47

I've had 2 glasses of wine tonight (well 1 1/2 as I'm still drinking it)
I wonder what Shred would be like while under the influence?!

My body is really aching, I reckon it will be worse in the morning but I'm glad I did the shred. Might as well carry on now.

I've got gym tomorrow night, as long as the dog groomer has finished and I have childcare sorted out. So organised, NOT!

I've done no washing all weekend. Instead, I've been doing empty washes with white vinegar to try and get rid of the stench coming from my machine.
Hopefully it will be okay for a while, although I'm happy to just buy a new machine. I'm not sure the insurance will pay for a new machine because my current one stinks Grin

I've got no intention of doing the shred tonight, all I'll be doing is ironing DH a shirt, DS's uniform and making lunch. Opps, I'm meant to be taking up DDs school trousers. Oh well, best get a move on then.

grinningbee · 07/11/2011 06:01

Lol Kid Hope you got everything done.

I am up for the day. Ds woke at 4, stayed in bed until 5.15 but then that was it. Sort of did me a favour really though (TMI warning!!) as I'd had a very heavy TOTM overnight, and think I've got a bit bed washing to do Sad.
I hate the first day or two as I always flood badly.

Dd goes to playgroup for the first time today. I'm really nervous and a bit sad. How daft am I? I'm sure she'll have a great time.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Shepherd's Lentil Pie or quorn chilli

I shall definitely be making more bubble and squeak soon, that was gorgeous last night, but my goodness it's so filling! Quorn sausages on the other hand... they don't seem to have improved much.

Hope you all have a good day today.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 07/11/2011 07:43

We were up at 6 this morning, too bloody earlyGrin

Weighed myself this morning, what an error. It looks like I've gained. My scales are weighing in around 7lbs different everytime. Bastards. I have bought another set So will dig them out.

Hope nursery goes well bee. She will have a fab time!
Off to baby swim later, term has restarted!

Food:
B: fruit and ff yog
L: lentil soup and toast
D: cod and roasted veg.

SlinkyB · 07/11/2011 09:31

Morning all. I was going to shred this am when ds went for his nap, but he got me up at 5.20am so it was back to bed for us at 7.30. Can now hear him saying "Mama mama" so suppose I ought to get up.

Got our buyer's surveyor coming to do the mortgage valuation today, gave me a time-slot of 11am-3pm Hmm. Annoyed to be house-bound as didn't leave yesterday, so getting cabin fever.

Food: Already had cheese on hobbit toast, now will have lots of fruit to keep me going.
L: Pasta n Sauce maybe?
D: Veg stir-fry and noodles.

Have a good one peeps.

grinningbee · 07/11/2011 10:14

Hello fellow early risers!

Well, we got to playgroup on time. When it came to the time to leave her she looked round as I was going out of the door. She didn't cry, but it was a "where are you going" face. I filled up after I had left the building.

I'm such a soppy sod.

Dh has picked chilli for tea, so I shall be making that later.

Cheese your scales sound dodgy. I'd have taken a hammer to them, especially after the 6lb loss the other day! I think I'm on for a gain this week and I actually wasn't that naughty on my birthday. And I still have that half a cake left Sad

On a brighter note, I had to put some size 18 jeans on today as the 16's are in the wash. I had to hold them up Grin I'm seeing my best mate on Thursday. Not seen her since mid June, so I'd like to think she'll notice a difference in me!

SlinkyB · 07/11/2011 11:04

Great feeling with the jeans isn't it bee ! Not too much longer and I bet you'll be in size 14's! Am sure dd is having a great time, must be odd without her though.

I'm currently watching ds pick at the tape I've used to tape the top drawer on the tv unit up! It's a vain bid to save my sanity. Now to think of ways to stop him playing with the bin, opening and emptying the coffee table drawer, playing with the door and little speakers, and pulling all the dvd's out of the rack !!! Argh, I need a walk around the lake (think he does too).

Hedgepig · 07/11/2011 11:44

sounds like a well dodgy pair of scales Cheese

My legs are still really aching from my run on Saturday and I'm supposed to go to exercise class this evening it's going to hurt :-(

I had a nice weekend my parents were over for the w/e so it was nice to catch up with them, but too much wine was drunk.

Food:
B Melon grapes and low fat yog
L Brown rice salad with salmon, toms, pepper, carrot etc
D Mushroom and spinach omelette SW chips

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/11/2011 12:17

Right, let's see what I can remember as on phone Confused.

Bee - have you tried using a mooncup? Highly recommend them for heavy flows.

Sadly a G bra wouldn't fit me. Was a H before having any children, and with 6 years of breastfeeding since they are showing no signs of shrinking! I can't recommend prima Donna bras highly enough for those who are generous of nork. Sadly they don't make nursing bras though.

Cheese - you aren't putting your scales on carpet are you? That would make the readings pretty unreliable.

Rubbish sleep and much wailing from youngest over the weekend. Am tired and def have some sort of eye problem going on too, as well as cold and remnants of ear infection, so am pretty under the weather. Have still just been to the gym though Smile.

B: sausages (4 syns), eggs, beans, mushrooms. (mean to have a banana too but was rushing so forgot)
L: not sure yet, but will have to sort something quick once I've got ds1 from playgroup.
D: seafood risotto with veg.

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/11/2011 12:18

*meant to have banana, not mean to, obviously!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 07/11/2011 13:04

CSWS No its on tiles. Its very irritating! I am going to dig out the others before Weds. Sorry about the lack of sleep, impressed you have managed the gym too.

Good idea about taping drawers slinky I might do the same later!

Hedgepig · 07/11/2011 13:08

I'm sooo hungry and have no more low syn snacks to eat Sad, I want cake !

Hedgepig · 07/11/2011 13:44

found a caramel snack-a-jack Grin

keepingitRia · 07/11/2011 13:58

hi all. hope DD had a good morning.

I am in a bad mood as DH was still in bed when I went to school, and when I got in he was having coffee but hadn't bothered do my a pot of tea, and has now weasled petrol money out of me and gone off on a wild goose chase to a recruitment open day with an agency. There's never a job at the end of it, because these agencies all work in big, popular places, and we appear to live in the back-end of nowhere. He may well have hoovered and tidied up a bit, but that is not the point here! I actually think he is trying to get a job working away so he doesn't have to be at home with us. (which wouldn't be a bad thing with his mood swings ATM, but still...)

I need some new trousers and some woolly tights. I am SO cold. (and not slimming into my clothes fast enough!) Will be going in search of sudafed tablets later, as I feel really rough again.

SlinkyB · 07/11/2011 17:59

Am in a luxuriously deep bubble bath, with a big glass of red. Yes, already! Used to hate our internal bathroom, with its noisy extract fan...until I had spent the day with a grouchy, attention-demanding, non-stop, on-the-go 9mo! Now the fan does an excellent job of muffling the whinging Grin. Couldn't wait for dp to come home so I could escape. Can hear them playing now, much nicer.

cheese Def recommend taping certain drawers, am so sick of saying "no" to the baby all day. Am thinking of putting everything on shelves at least 5ft high in new house !

CSWS Can't believe you went to the gym feeling that poorly; such dedication!

ria Hope you get well soon, and that dh finds a suitable job.

Think I might hide stay here all night...

So much for not drinking in Nov. Had a glass with lunch yesterday too, as had in-laws round for a roast.

Chipskilartar · 07/11/2011 22:35

Hi all, didn't get chance to post over the weekend as we had a busy one - lots of friends and family round, which was really nice. I managed to resist the cake and crisps, so wasn't too bad food wise, but drank way too much wine on Saturday night. Here's hoping for staying the same on Wednesday!

cheese I'd definitely dig out the other scales and am Envy at your trip to Rigby and Peller, I'd love to go, although I do try and visit Bravissimo about twice a year. csws where do you get Prima Donna bra's from - a shop or the Internet?

grinningbee · 08/11/2011 08:09

Morning all!

Slinky Envy at the lovely bath and wine Grin hope you enjoyed it.

Ria Hope things are better today. Dh's eh? Pain in the bum sometimes!

To all those with investigative dc who are now opening cupboards, draws, tv cabinets... may I recommend these Lifesaver I have them on the cupboards, one on the fridge door, one on the tv cabinet (to save the sky box etc). They are brill!

Playgroup yesterday morning must have really taken something out of dd - she is still asleep!

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and yogurt
Sweet chilli chicken with roasted veg

Weigh in for me today and big food shop. Not to mention rather a lot of washing that seems to have crept up. Boo.

grinningbee · 08/11/2011 08:37

Bless, she's just woken up!

Anyway, forgot to add earlier - dd was sent home with some leaflets etc yesterday. One was a slip to say that we should watch out for head lice as a case had been reported. I knew we'd get something like this eventually, but it was her first day!!!! Oh yuck yuck yuck.

Makes your head itch just thinking about them, doesn't it Grin
