Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 03/11/2011 14:23

Hedge - did you use it for what Cheese was thinking on him though? Wink

I even saw the film they made at the cinema - and that was before I had children Grin

keepingitRia · 03/11/2011 14:41

my pitchfork is sharpened and ready beeWink

my DH can either be really good at birthdays, or totally crap. He is not consistent. I have long been buying a little thing for the DC to give to me, as with they used to get upset if there wasn't anything. I do my own christmas stocking too... hope you get the top and anything else you fancy.

I confess I have not jumped straight back on the wagon today. I feel so ill again. I will have to get some night nurse or something. 'Tis ridiculous being so knocked out by a cold.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/11/2011 20:07

A new thread title, we are only halfway through this one.

So far today, I have been syn free!! Shame I haven't done much exercise.

Shame hedge about the plug...you must have been tempted!

Hedgepig · 03/11/2011 20:18

::slams door, kicks cushions around grrrrrrr stamp, stamp, stamp:: I am mightily fecked off. Just been to my SW group for real weigh in and I have put the 3 lbs I had lost Tues eve (when I had weighed for our weigh in) back on. I have hopped on my home scales and they agree argggggg OK I had a mega sugar fest last night when I was feeling crap, but surely not 3lbs worth.

Right that's off my chest ,back to it tomorrow

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/11/2011 20:58

Oh god, that can't be right. Sorry hedge.

Am considering a hot choc.....

grinningbee · 04/11/2011 08:50

Oh Hedge Sad - could it be water retention?

It won't make you feel any better, but after my one day off, I seem to have put on what I lost this week plus a couple of friends. I can't understand it.

I feel awful today. Ds was up for 3 hours last night, but I felt very very hot and sick (still do), my innards feel as though they are being pulled, and my skin and joints hurt (you know that lovely feeling) Sad. I almost passed out on the bathroom floor during the night. Dd is also off colour. His knibs went to work ages ago but promised to come back a bit early - we'll see. He did get up with me in the night, but spent it moaning about ds "not being right in the head" for not wanting to go back to sleep. Poor sausage.

So, not sure if any eating will be going on today, other than paracetamol! I certainly can't be arsed to cook, so I will get some quorn chilli out of the freezer for dh.

Hope everyone else is ok!

SlinkyB · 04/11/2011 10:11

Morning all, apologies to CSWS for missing you off the "well dones" on Weds night .

bee So sorry you had such a shit birthday, and that dh was a bit of a tool. Sounds like he needs a good pitchfork kick up the arse (or maybe hedge could lend you her novelty bath plug?).

Funeral service yesterday was very moving, and completely non-religious, so right up my street. It was followed by afternoon tea in a rather nice pub, which served delicious cakes. I showed no restraint and had two, no surprise there then. Oh, and then champagne was served to 'toast' my friend, as it was a celebration of her life, and she bloody loved the stuff. So November bootcamp hasn't had the best of starts!

B: F+F
L: Soup and hobbit toast, fruit and yoghurt
D: Veg stir-fry with brown rice
Supper: lots of wine on girly night out?!

Not going to be in the 10st Club anytime soon at this rate, but I did set a goal of Christmas thank goodness Wink.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/11/2011 10:35

Well slinky I reckon you deserved a flexible syns day yesterday.

Weighed myself this morning and I have lost 6lbs. WTF? I don't believe it....

B: Blueberries and FF yog
L: Mushrooms, toms, spinach, egg and toast (HEB)
D: Turkey mince chilli, brown rice and salad.
Exercise: 2 mile walk
Hope you feel better bee.

Am struggling so badly tofind chaildcare for my DD that we can afford. 3 days a week, 11 hr days is going to cost us around £350 a week! More than I bloody earn.

grinningbee · 04/11/2011 10:38

Slinky ((hugs)) glad it went well - and I have to say champagne and afternoon tea sounds like a fab send off. I'd want everyone to eat at least two if it were my do.

Yep, he was a bit of a plonker. I didn't have anything to open at all , but as soon as me and the trible are feeling better, I'm going off into Nottingham to treat myself.

I can't imagine getting into the 10st club this side of Xmas, but it will definitely happen next year! Mind you - there is still over half of my cake left... and it has chocolate ganache in it...

grinningbee · 04/11/2011 10:42

Blimey Cheese £350?? Shock that is expensive Sad It does make you wonder if it's worth it.

And as for a 6lb loss lady Envy - harrumph. Very very jealous. I seem to have put 3 on like Hedge.

Right. Off to see if I can get a cup of tea in me without feeling uber sick.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/11/2011 11:47

Wel it is clearly an error bee! I haven't even done a 6lb poo!!

grinningbee · 04/11/2011 12:29

Now now, it might not be an error. Weight loss (or gain!) works in mysterious ways.

Arf at a 6lb poo - now that would require some good old gas and air Grin Some of that around now would be quite nice Wink

I know it's a bit cliched, but it's something I've read on other threads - this childcare cost. Does it help to think of half the cost coming from dh's salary? Probably doesn't help, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Well, I've managed a banana and a cup of tea, although the tea made me feel yuck. Now it's time for the lunchtime madness with the dc. Yay!

LakeFlyPie · 04/11/2011 13:40

Afternoon all Smile

Belated birthday wishes to Bee, hope you've treated yourself to your new top Smile

Sorry to hear about your friend slinky, good to hear you celebrated her life in style.

Hedge it must be fluid surely? I anticipate some enormous wees and a stonking loss next week Grin

Fantastic losses everyone (except me and ria Blush) and I sense a new focus now that November bootcamp is upon us.

Not only is the Christmas countdown spurring me on but my return to work is 6 weeks away and I'm determined to return to work in size 12 trousers so need to get my arse in gear.

Food wise am just taking a few moments to plan the weekend grub and snacks to avoid any over synnage.

Have a fridge full of fruit and Muller Lights so what could go wrong now that I've scoffed all the leftover Halloween treats?

Food today: Green
BF: Muesli + FF yog
L: Veg soup and cous cous with roasted peppers and feta
Satsuma
D: Pasta and as yet undecided sauce (probably spicy tomato in some guise)
Snacks: Fruit, yog

LakeFlyPie · 04/11/2011 20:55

You all hiding and scoffing Parkin?

Came back to report major achievement of Shredding today (and a brisk walk into town and back - 2miles) but you've all disappeared!

Might not be able to walk very well tomorrow but fingers should be just about able to log in and see what's going on Smile

Hedgepig · 04/11/2011 21:55

well done with the sheding Lakeflypie I have walked round Waitrose today do you think that counts as exercise

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/11/2011 22:02

I am here! Congrats on shredding lake. So impressed. Did you scoff the halloween treats?

Lots of fireworks going off here, wishing they would shurrup as I don't want it to wake DD up.

My sis is taking DD for the day tomorrow so I from about 11-4 of quiet time. What to do with myself? I am thinking a mooch around Harrods, haven't done that since I had DD.

I have had 2 gins so I think that is 10 syns.

kid · 04/11/2011 23:53

I think I need to start shredding again, but I know how much it hurts so thats putting me off!
Its strange that I used to get a pain in my left leg but after increased gym classes, the pain completed disappeared. I've been completely rubbish at going to the gym this week and tonight the pain is most definitely back.
That should be enough incentive to get back to classes, but somehow I think I am going to need an almighty kick up the backside.

Childcare is becoming a huge issue when going to the gym. I just don't know if I trust 12yo DD and 9yo DS at home alone. They are both sensible but I just don't know. I would be completely uncontactable for 45-50 minutes. My gut instinct is they would be fine, but I have a tiny doubt which stops me from leaving them.

Hope you are all being healthy and that no-body got too wet today in all that rain!

keepingitRia · 04/11/2011 23:56

hi all. checking in a bit late, seem to have no time.

had a lovely birthday tea at my parents for my Dad's 70th Smile. Mum made a fantastic party tea spread, and I ate too muchBlush then she opened the wine (as sis and BIL had made her cross) and she made me drink too much of that too. She even said I didn't drink it quick enoughWink

sneaked a bath and a quick hair-dye after work today... and had not one but 2 parcel deliveries while I was indisposed, and I slipped in the bath trying to shout out of the bathroom window to the guy to leave the parcel in the porch. Am in much pain in my lower back. Lurgy maybe feeling slightly better today though as I tool one of every supplement/vitamin lurking in the cupboard yesterday!

not sure what the weekend holds. DS2 and DS3 are at a party for 2 of their friends who just happen to be brothers and are sharing a party tomorrow, on Sunday DS1 was hoping to try out a new band who are short of a drummer, but I am sorely tempted by Whitby goth weekend as we haven't been this year. Also would have liked to invite my parents round for Sunday lunch, but I really can't be arsed to do the necessary amount of tidying. Eating crap and sleeping would be perfect, but I would like to lose as much of my 15lb as possible before christmas, so I need to motivate myself.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/11/2011 09:57

Good morning.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, bit grey and horrible here.

Food looks like:
B: Blueberries anf FF yog
L: Don't know yet
D: meatballs and spaghetti with salad or veggies.

keepingitRia · 05/11/2011 13:42

not a great day so far. weepy miserable and have eaten chocolate. almost party time and I have a rotten headache (and a grumpy DH who is getting on my nerves)

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/11/2011 16:48

I bought shred a few months ago, but haven't taken it out of the wrapper yet Blush. But I can be excused I think as I have been going to the gym regularly for nearly 2 months now.

Skipped breakfast today as couldn't decide what to have, then was busy, then was too close to lunch Hmm.
Made a sweet and sour chicken recipe for lunch that didn't actually taste like sweet and sour. Hmm
But having much more reliable chilli for dinner, with baked pots or wedges and salad. Then off to fireworks with friends who are coming for dinner too. Then x-factor once kids in bed.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/11/2011 16:50

sorry you are not having a good day ria. have you got strong painkillers?

keepingitRia · 05/11/2011 23:31

I had a sleep, then endured 2 hours at a party where it was freezing cold, sat on floor as no chairs for parents, and if an old school friend hadn't stayed with her DD, there would have been no-one to talk to, as hardly anyone from the reception parents talk to me, and all DS2s friends parents didn't stay as their DC are old enough to be left.

we went and parked in a cliff-top car park with chippy chips to watch the fireworks. DS3 hated it and whined for an hour and a half, DS2 talked constantly and couldn't sit still, and DS1 is just DS1. Been to my mums with a bottle of wine though and feel a bit better now.

will try hard to get back on track tomorrow. I struggle with motivation when I am suffering the black dog thoughSad

I think DH has taken my Shred out of the amazon envelope and tidied it away somewhere today. Hopefully he will soon go back to working and I will finally be able to break the wrapper and give it a go.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 06/11/2011 09:05

Ah ria today is a new day. You can get back to it.

I had an incident with a pizza last night Sad. But no booze! I had a lovely wander around the shops yesterday. Got my bras remeasured in rigby and pelier and blew an ridiculous amount of money on a bra. I was just so chuffed to wear a 32. Shame about the G cup!

Food:
B: hmm not had it yet
Brunch: eggs, bacon, tomatoes and beans
D: meatballs that I failed to make yesterday!

grinningbee · 06/11/2011 10:49

Oh Ria Sad New day, new start. Sorry the boys didn't enjoy the fireworks, and that the party was a bit poop.

Cheese glad you had a nice mooch (we'll studiously ignore the pizza incident Wink), and yay for the new bra. Also, snap! I got measured too yesterday in Bravissimo.

We went for a mooch around Nottingham yesterday, and as I say I got measured. Have gone down from a 36 GG to a 34 G. Mind you, the remaining norkage looks like rolled up rags in the new bra. Thought I'd get an underwired non-maternity one as the maternity one was doing nothing for me. So now at least things look back in the right place.... tis mearly an illusion though Blush. Best description now for the poor boobs is deflated balloons Sad

Dh got me a present in Lush, and very nice it is too. I shall be trying out a new bathbomb or something in a little bit. Yay!

Ds was up to the usual last night - up from 2.30ish until 6. Dd also woke around 5, so it was all good fun. I went back to bed at 6 when the dust settled!

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
The usual I expect, or nothing if we go out for a wander
Quorn sausages, mushy peas and bubble and squeak. Yum yum yum Smile
