Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

Morning all, just a quickie as should be packing the car up (off to see my DOD today: Dear Old Dad!).

Sorry you guys had bad nights again, ours was good and ds didn't wake til 06.35 today - hurrah. Right, food:

B: Weetabix and banana
L: Danish pastry unsure
D: Quorn sausages and mash

Happy Halloween everyone! Look forward to spider pic cheese (we were tight and didn't bother getting ds an outfit for his first Halloween).

grimRiaper · 31/10/2011 10:21

morning all. I like that dress - a bit audrey hepburn? I also would have nowhere to wear it.

no one took a pic of me yesterday! we had a good day, but I'm glad it's over... we went to a craft fair at a stately home in our fancy dress! xmas gifts for my sister bought. think I will go back to being anti-social for a while now, all this jollity makes my head hurt. Food not good- DHs stew was delish, but one tiny portion probably had more meat in it than I usually eat in a week. Probably had about 4 glasses of wine over the day (12-9ish) so that's good I think. No dessert at lunch - we had it in the evening insteadWink

have opted out of helping in class this week until I feel better, though I have to go in to work and see how I get on. DS3 is off school today, and I am fully expecting a call to collect ds2 who insisted on going despite looking dreadful and probably having tonsilitis comingSad

have a good day.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 31/10/2011 12:31

Oh yes, I forgot to say. bee I do quite like the dress but it does have the potential to look mumsy. Maybe if you teemed it with some killer heels? I went shopping yesterday and got some leggings in size 12 (yay), and 2 size 12 tops! Very pleased.

Slinkenstein · 31/10/2011 14:08

Ha, ria the thought of you and your family going to a random craft fair in Halloween fancy dress made me giggle; shame there are no photos!

Forgot to say bee, I also like the dress, looks very flattering, but agree it could look a bit Mumsy if not careful. Also, think it looks v.formal so not sure where you'd wear it??

I'm off shopping on Wednesday with a friend; hoping to get some new jeans (who knows what size, haven't bought any in ages), some heeled boots (for winter/work) and maybe a new top for Friday night (am going out with post-natal group ladies).

I was happily chatting away to my Dad when a maple pecan twist jumped in to my mouth, masticated itself and found its way down my gullet - am furious! [hangry]

Was hoping to start shredding tonight when ds is in bed, but have to do a big food shop instead. Wonder if I could fit in a few lunges/squats around Asda?

grimRiaper · 31/10/2011 14:33

"trolley-fit" slinky! what a naughty maple plait.

indeed, we amused many people... there are photos of the others, just not me for some reason (which is a shame because I quite liked my lookWink). I was a tad offended when one of the stable girls asked if my lovely halloween hair was a wig! perhaps I need to re-book that hair appointmentHmm

grinningzombee · 31/10/2011 14:45

Kid any joy on the house keys? Did the dog eat them???

Slinky that's so funny - can just imagine doing squats down to things on the bottom shelf , and stretches to the top[hgrin] - and what a naughty maple twist!! [hwink]

Ria hope the dc are feeling better soon, and also your dd Cheese.

Mumsy is something I want to avoid, although being very almost 41 and having 2 dc does make me mumsy. The dress will be staying in the shop. T'was indeed very flattering though.

Took the dc to softplay. There was only us there for a start! Dd had her face painted for the first time ever, and sat so still I was amazed. I will try to get a picture up on FB. She was painted to look like a spotty dog, but I have to say she could also have passed for a member of Kiss [hgrin]. We managed 2 hours which I thought was good. Everyone else who turned up was in pairs of friends or groups. Might even brave it again later in the week.

Must need some new marbles...

The keys have been found, they were in the garden Confused
I remember DH went in the garden yesterday to cover the garden furniture up and so he obviously used my keys to open the gate. Glad they have been found, I was driving myself mad looking for them. Shame I didn't find them in time to go to work though Grin
So, a whole day at home all by myself, I clearly took advantage of having some me time. I have done three lots of washing, cooked dinner and finished off the last bit of the ironing that I started yesterday. Of course with all the washing I did today, I will have another huge pile tomorrow but at least the washing basket is getting emptier.

I was planning to go gym tonight, sorted out child care. Went outside to the car and the tyre has gone flat again so there is definitely a puncture. I can't do anything about it at the moment though as DH has the air compressor in his car. I might do 'Shred' if I can be bothered to connext the xbox back up again.

Its been really nice not having (well not being able to) go out today. But I'm not sure I'd like it every day. I'd have to have another baby to keep me company lol

kid · 31/10/2011 19:30

I'm at home all by myself and have decided not to open the door to any trick or treaters. Yeah I'm mean but the kids round here are meaner (remember incidents with my DS earlier this year?)
Anyway, they knocked earlier and I heard one say she must have gone out but another reckoned I was in but hiding!
The little sods then kicked my door and wedged the garden gate open. They know I have a loopy dog who would be out of the gate super quick Angry
I dare them to come back. I'll hear them coming and I'll use the water gun from an upstairs window! Well they did say trick or treat
I've wiped their footprint off the door otherwise I'd be eyeing up their shoes to find out who did it Grin

Chipskilartar · 31/10/2011 19:37

Hey everyone. Hope you've all had a good weekend, despite most of you being poorly Sad

Well, I hope I'm doing this right as I haven't stopped eating since Wednesday! It really doesn't feel like a diet as i've had curry, chinese (Singapore noodles), full English, and a roast dinner this weekend!! My clothes don't feel any different yet, and I'm fighting the urge to jump on the scales before Wednesday!

kid · 31/10/2011 20:00

do resist jumping on the scales, it could go either way if you give in. If you haven't lost anything yet, you will want to stuff your face. If you've lost a lot, when you weigh again on Wednesday, you might not have lost much more and that will make you want to stuff your face (been there, done that!)

Hope you can manage the next 2 days and have a good result when you are allowed to weigh in!

grimRiaper · 31/10/2011 20:26

glad you found the keys kid.

we have actually opened the door this year (mainly because DH was here, but the kids actually wanted to). I made some cauldron treat "bags" out of activia pots painted black, with string handles and orange tissue paper (and sweeties) inside for yesterday but we brought what was left home, so DH was choosing the best costumes to get one of those, the other kids just got really stinky haribo. He has now had enough and gone to the pub (on a job finding mission). DS1 is out with his friends, goodness knows where, but presumably they are being sensibleHmm I had a couple of hours sleep before tea, but am ready to snooze again now.

keepingitRia · 31/10/2011 20:31

ah, that's better... though it looks like the nose and the hair are stayingWink

Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/11/2011 07:24

Morning all!

Had such a fun day yesterday. Photos can be seen on facebbok, will add them to the page too.

Food wasn't so good, there were equally naughty cupcakes at the party very similar to slinkys Danish Grin
So today is a new day
B: nothing as zumba at 9.30
L: scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, tomato and mushroom. Hobbit toast (heb)
D: steak and chips as had takeaway last night Blush

Dh exam went oh, phew! We will find out in Dec.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/11/2011 07:26

Loving the new name ria

grinningbee · 01/11/2011 07:36

Morning!

Cheese glad the exam was ok, fingers crossed for December Smile. Those pictures are sooooooo cute! (But 6 babies, and white sofas????). Loved them, and it looks as if it was a good time.

I think I'm having an off day today. Must be hormones, but I just sat here and cried for no reason. Maybe it's pre-birthdayitus. Both dc are still in bed, so I'm sat here by myself. Poor ds had a very unsettled night. Kept coming in with me, then back to his cot, back in with me etc. He's teething like a demon (eye teeth) but I can also see where molars are starting to come up as bumps too. Poor sausage.

Big food shop to do today, hurrah Hmm. Oh, the new curry after sitting in the fridge for a bit is even nicer than the first day, so I thoroughly recommend it.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a sad brown banana
Beans on toast, fruit and yogurt
Quorn chilli and rice

Ah, I can hear squeaking. Best go and see who's awake...

Have a nice accidental cake free day everyone Wink

grinningbee · 01/11/2011 08:04

Oh bollocks.

Dh has just phoned to say he's had an accident. He was in a customers car too, and says it's written off. Involved 2 lorries on the A1, but one that cut him up has driven off. He went into the back of the other one.

He's fine by the way.

Both dc now crying their eyes out, and I may well join them.

This may well finish his business off. Buggery buggery bollocks.

Sorry for the language - I want to say worse!

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 01/11/2011 09:20

feckety feck Bee ((hugs)) it sounds like he is OK which is the most important bit and maybe the car isn't as bad as he thinks. There are some scary lorries out there

grinningbee · 01/11/2011 09:33

Thanks Hedge I'm always uber careful around lorries. Um, unfortunately he fixes cars for a living (oh, the irony) so I think it is bad. Says he's waiting for the breakdown lorry to come and take it and him to his garage.

I went to take the bins out earlier and ended up crying on my neighbour Blush. She's lovely. If we ever move I want to take her with me!

Well, I suppose I should get on. Hair wash, washing up and then big food shop. With my weigh in somewhere in there too.

I will resist the urge to scoff sweet things after weigh in...

Hedgepig · 01/11/2011 09:53

Bee our main road around here is the A14 and at least once a month we have pile ups on my work route generally involving lorries. Sounds like he know what he is talking about with the write-off then Grin. I have lovely neighbours too which is fab, as my family are all over the other side of the country and it is great having someone like family on your door step. Good luck with your weigh on and enjoy the chocolate Grin.

Food today:
B Melon, pear and FF yog
L Turkey salad
D Salmon fishcakes and SW chips

grinningbee · 01/11/2011 10:14

Ah, the A14. Yep, sounds like living here.

I'm not having chocolate until tomorrow (I just wrote it on my shopping list)... and now dh says he is coming home so I can't even scoff in secret! The dc are both currently eating a custard cream each. I could murder some of those with a cuppa!

Weigh in was rather pleasing Grin

SlinkyB · 01/11/2011 11:18

Morning all

Oh bee, what a disaster! Didn't dh have a car accident a few months back, too? I supposed if he's doing a lot of miles then he's going to be more at risk Sad. Glad you've had a good weigh-in though. I'm also very teary atm, as it's totm this week, plus my friend's funeral on Thursday Sad.

cheese I also loved the baby halloween pics! Was showing them to dp and he feigned interest for a couple and then was like "yeah, alright, enough baby photos, we've got one of our own...can we watch Sopranos now?" ha ha.

Ds is coming on leaps and bounds; now pulls himself to standing (gets stuck, then moans)...and whilst I was just tickling him he bit my arm really hard! Little bugger Wink.

Food:

B: Weetabix
L: left-over mash with beans
D: Chicken wrapped in bacon with syn-free chips and veg

Already had an Alpen Light bar too. Have a good day all.

SlinkyB · 01/11/2011 11:23

P.S chips yes, you are probably doing it right if you feel like you're eating too much! I used to find on the groups I'd attend, that it was those that weren't eating enough that weren't doing it properly. Fab eh?! Glad you had a good weekend, and do resist the urge to jump on the scales until you really have to.

ria very impressed with your home-made treats for the children; we turned the lights out and hid Wink.

keepingitRia · 01/11/2011 13:28

that's what we usually do slinky, though one year (whilst being off work after a previous operation) DH made a big bucket of slime and the kids had to put their hands in it to get at their treatsWink

hope all is OK beeSad

I am dilemma-stricken about DoD. Do I WI and take the damage that is inevitable at face value, and be grown up and deal with it straight away, or do I accept that there is damage, but not WI so I don't have to face what a greedy pig I have been?Confused There is no question about getting back on the wagon and having a good week, that goes without saying... will be planning meals and shopping later, though with me being ill and us being out for 4 meals, I have quite a lot left from last week. The only stalling point this week is my Dad's birthday buffet tea on Friday.

Hedgepig · 01/11/2011 13:42

Ria you could WI but not post it on the thread and then you know what the damage is but we don't. You only have to post as much or a little in info as you want, 'til The Rules! Grin

Hedgepig · 01/11/2011 13:43

bother the canteen put raw onion in my salad, my breath stinks. I think I will have to go for a soft mint even though they are 1 syn each Shock
